Best whitefish in Michigan! It is our yearly visit for whitefish and eggs for breakfast. Best place ever!!!!

Right off the bat, the view of Lake Michigan is AMAZING! I would call this a homey diner. The server was very attentive and courteous. As for the food, I had the eggs, toast, bacon and hash browns; all cooked to perfection. Hubby had the Western omelette. The fixins inside the omelette were grilled and it made the omelette so flavorful. We will be back again. read more

We've been to this restaurant before and have enjoyed the food and view. The service has been average at best, but it's been something we don't worry about because we enjoy the view and the food is good. This time when we went the greeter said we could sit outside, but the server acted irritated that we wanted to sit outside, saying she hadn't set it up yet. (mind you, they advertise the best view around). Setting it up consisted of wiping down a table and bringing a bus cart out. We said we could wait. We waited 10 minutes while she did everything else she could think of. When she finally went outside she slammed the menus into the cart and slammed the door shut behind her. As a truck driver I stopped in to eat and rest for the night. The Whitefish and fries meal was very tasty. I was the only one in the restaurant and service was very courteous. I took a table in the back overlooking Lake Michigan and relaxed like I was at moms house. I ordered a Pastie meal as well but of course that was too much food so I took it to go. My only complaint was that on this day they had too many flies and nats swarming my table and the salad bar. Seems like an annoyance a small electric fly trap may handle nicely. All in all I would return to eat hear again as the appearance was clean and atmosphere was homey. read more

The service, the food, the view! We were passing through and my dad wanted some walleye fish. Obvi we went to Yelp for help! We narrowed it down to 3 places and decided to go for this one. BEST DECISION EVER!! The service was so so lovely! She was so nice and had great recommendations! I had the chicken tender platter and my sister ordered the pastie. When I tried her gravy and fell in love, our amazing waitress brought me a side of it! I dipped EVERYTHING in it! My fries, my tenders, my roll...almost my ice tea LOL! All the food was delicious, hot, and tasted very fresh. I was full but couldn't pass up the bread pudding! Delightful sauce, perfect texture, and nice hits of raisins and chocolate chips. If you find yourself passing through...make sure you stop! I know someone mentioned they charge a fee for using a card, but its only 2.99% and it's to offset the charge for the machine. So remember cash or just help a small business out by letting go of that 2.99% The prices at this lovely place are incredibly reasonable anyway! read more

Whitefish is what they are known for. My husband had the fish and chips basket with whitefish, it was very lightly breaded and fried golden brown, very hot and tasty. They make their own potato chips which were on point, perfectly crisp and great flavor. I had broiled whitefish which was on the overcooked side but had good flavor. The sweet potato mash had a smoky flavor, almost like the sweet potatoes were roasted over a wood fire prior to mashing, they were delicious. They had the salad bar open, it was fresh. The portions were generous and staff friendly. My daughter was kept entertained playing eye spy using all the interesting decor as targets. We pass here several times per year and I would make another stop if we need a lunch or dinner. read more

We go to the 906 several tImes a year and have been meaning to stop here for years. If you're looking for a place with a great view and good food this is the place. The decor is modest, service was prompt, and portions very generous. We both had the fish and chips which came with 3 good size pieces of white fish and a pile of fries. We stopped lunch and it was a lot of food. Other reviewers were a bit critical of the cash or extra charge for credit. Glad I saw the comments but usually always have cash. If that is the worst thing to happen to you then you have a pretty good life. As one of my friends would say "rich people problems". We will definitely put this on our regular stop list. read more

The food was really good and the waitresses were very nice. The view was also spectacular too. So why the 1 star? Hidden charges when you use a credit card. There isnt any notification that cards are charged more. That makes it dishonest in my playbook. I'll be scratching this place off my stop list and will just go to Audys on the other side of the bridge. read more

Just ate here and the food was amazing service was top notch. I highly recommend the fish and chips. The breeding on the fish was perfect. The chips were nice and crispy. The bread pudding was fantastic. If you come by here, it's definitely worth to have a nice sit down meal. read more

Worse service ever received! Took 10 min for a waitress to come to our table and 45 min for our meal to come to our table, we asked for a refill on our drinks and never got it! Food tasted awful, room temperature and tasted like meat was too long in the freezer and waitress service was terrible. I will never recommend this place to anyone!!! read more

Such a beautiful view sitting on the back patio. Service was a tad slow due to lack of staff. But the gals were so pleasant and hospitable. Food was very good too. Great view and even better staff. Recently, the business started applying a surcharge for using a credit or debit card. They're calling it a "cash discount". If it were a true cash discount, thier prices would be changed on the menu and they'd apply a discount at the register when you pulled out cash. Instead, there is a line item added to your bill that says "Non-Cash Adj.". This is not allowed on a debit or pre-paid Visa in any way, shape or form. If you go here, use your Visa debit card (even run as credit) and dispute it here at Visa's website: https://usa.visa.com/Forms/visa-rules.html Follow the provided link and scroll to "surcharge". Select it and you'll see that a surcharge or checkout fee CAN NOT be added. This is a very poor business practice that not only insults, customer but can also hurt the servers as that extra 4% surcharge may come out of thier tip. I can only hope the owners are now aware and we're given bad advice. My kids love this place but as long as this practice is applied, we won't be back. read more

The breakfast was great. Every one in our party of 4 were so happy with their meals that we ate there two days in a row. The eggs were huge. The 2 egg omelette was enough to fill up my big brother. I had the corn beef hash, it was very good. The second day I had hash browns they were very crispy and good. I also had two scrambled eggs and toast, I couldn't eat it all. My husband had biscuits and gravy. It was such a large portion that He couldn't eat it all either. My sister had the breakfast pastie. She liked it so much that she had it both days. The prices were very good. The scenery is beautiful and the place was nicely decorated. Definitely a place we'll go back to if we're in the area. read more

We stopped here for breakfast for a pastie. Food was good, but the ambiance was great. It's windows all look out over the lake. We watched freighters going by out in the distance and hummingbirds up close. They have binoculars at each table and lots of puzzle games laying around to kill time. I visited this week for lunch, with my mom. It was my 1st visit but her 2nd. Upon her recommendation, I had the Hot Turkey Sandwich. This classic is one of my favs - but, often a disappointment when I order it. Not here! It was completely delicious. Beautiful fresh roasted turkey, homemade mashed potatoes & a yummy savory gravy. The hearty sandwich is also served with a side of quite delicious coleslaw. The whole thing was such a nice treat. A good lunch is a little hard time to find along US2 - but, this is a really good option. Not sure how we've missed it all these summers in Naubinway. A beautiful view, cute interior and friendly staff. We will come again! read more

I've been here twice now, once about 2 years ago. I decided to come back to give the place another shot, and it's exactly how I remember. The food is good, but the service is absolutely awful. This most recent time our waitress came to us once to drop off our drinks. The kitchen staff brought out our food, and she was lovely, but I cannot say the same for our waitress. She never once checked on us to refill our waters or anything. She continued to walk past us multiple times without checking on us. We had to wait at least 20 minutes for our bill. We couldn't even flag her down because we hardly saw her except for when she would run out menus/drinks to other tables. It's such a shame because I would come here for the food alone, but the service makes it an awful experience. We had to ask for our bill to which she just had us meet her at the counter for and didn't even give us an actual bill like she had for the tables around us. read more

The view is great but the food and service left much to be desired. No drink refills and lack luster food including cream of mushroom soup that we weren't sure of what it was made. The server was somewhat overwhelmed but didn't seem overly concerned about anything in particular or attentive. A side note that the "house" dressing tasted like it was made with Koolaid. If you're looking for your local restaurant look no further! Classic mom and pop feels with meals that don't disappoint. Husband got whitefish basket and I was a kid and got the chicken finger basket. BOTH were great and tasted just like a family meal. A word to the wise and bring your cash, cards get charged a fee! I don't often leave reviews, but this place was disappointing, the food wasn't very warm, no coffee refills offered, our water was tinted yellow (I didn't even want to give it to my dog ) our waitress was not very friendly at all, and the salad bar was very limited and looked pretty iffy. Stopped in at 2 in the afternoon. Place was busy, a table was cleaned for us and we sat at 2:10. Waitress came by 10 minutes later, took drink order, drinks (ice tea ) came 10 minutes later and took our order. 30 minutes later we asked waitress how our order was coming along. She said order had not been started yet and there were still a few orders to cook before they would get to ours. 1 hour sitting there and they haven,t even started cooking the food yet. Walked out, went across street to the only other restaurant in town. Ordered drinks and food within minutes of walking in the door. We were eating our food within 10 minutes and there was only 1 waitress, she had 7 tables to wait on. If you have a couple of hours to kill, eat at the Bayview, if not, go across the street for good service and good food. read more

We LOVE this place. Every summer we are here to visit friends we eat at the Bayview Inn several times. Breakfasts are great. The blueberry pancakes are huge and more than enough by themselves. They have a nice variety of waffles and other breakfast fare. I have never been disappointed. Lunch is just as nice with a good variety of menu items at reasonable prices. Service is prompt. Our server, Deb, is very friendly and one of the best servers I have ever encountered. The view of lake Michigan is incredible and if that isn't enough to hold your interest, the hummingbird feeders near the windows and the hummingbirds they attract should do the trick. Binoculars are conveniently placed on the window sills to help with your bird or ship watching. read more
