We ended up getting an assortment...a single burger, poutine, 3 piece fried white fish. All were delicious...really loved their house made tarter sauce heavy on the dill. Wow, great locally sourced food. We stopped at MooFinFries on our trip along the North Shore of Lake Michigan in route back to Minnesota. MooFinFries has good grass-fed beef burgers, fresh-caught white fish, and a generous portion of hand-cut potato fries - a really nice, well-prepared dinner and a comfortable, friendly environment. We did not try the poutine, but it was described as a local variation of the French-Canadian specialty comfort food. A note about the potato fries from someone who grew up on a potato farm: these are the real deal; large fresh spuds, hand cut, and deep-fried in peanut oil; not crispy, but cooked gently and slightly browned. These are much, much better that the overly cooked, crisp, salty fries you get at a fast-food place like McDonalds. This place makes the 10 minute detour so, so worth it! We got the "Moo" and the fish sandwich - they both delighted our taste buds!! My mum got the "Moo" with most of the fixings. She devoured it and was proclaiming its deliciousness the whole time. The fish sandwich I ate was super good - the tartar sauce is fresh and so tasty! The hand-cut fries - THE HAND-CUT FRIES. Y'all gotta taste those salty, crispy bad boys. However, the best part had to be the owner and his employees. We got there 10-15 minutes before close, but the owner was amiable and extremely helpful. The staff also was friendly. We talked with the owner while ordering and waiting for our food. He explained how his restaurant uses fresh ingredients from local sources - including his own brother's farm and how he tries to keep the quality high. 10/10; totally recommend to anyone traveling to the UP! read more

Moo Fin Fries.... The name pretty much explains the menu. Burgers, fish, fries, ice cream. The menu is small but what they do, they do well. Burgers are great, poutine is amazing! I usually top things off with a chocolate malt which is so so good! Service is amazing and everything is clean and the food is great. Not sure what more you could ask for. read more

If you are a foodie do not stop. If you don't know what foodie means then this place is for you. We ordered Poutine- if you've had in Canada don't expect it to match. Burger- no flavor and wasn't allowed to be cut in half. Fries- undesirable in a bad way. Maybe the potatoes were not good. Diarrhea- expect within the hour of eating. Nearby bathrooms- good luck. Cute atmosphere. Maybe we hit on an off day based on all the good reviews. Had been looking forward to this stop but disappointed. read more

Saw this place on Under the Radar and had to check it out on a recent trip to the UP. It was everything I expected and hoped for,after the horrible food in Mackinaw City! The Burger was huge (and that was a single). The fries are fresh hand cut potatoes and again huge portions. Would like to try their fish next time. Service was great! What a great find! There has been a food desert here along US Rte 2 until trying this place. We didn't even check Yelp (sorry Yelp) for suggestions since there seemed to be nothing but gas stations. Saw the sign, figured burgers, fish and fries weren't too risky so took the chance for lunch. Boy were we pleased! Great burger (raised on the owner's brother's farmfreshly caught fish that morning and hand cut fries. Top quality, impeccably clean and very nice ownership. My husband and I stopped here on the way home after a weekend trip to Marquette at just before 7 pm on a Sunday. As we were sitting in our car getting ready to go inside, the owner came out and asked us if we were going to order food? They were just about to close. We said yes and went in, since it's pretty remote and we weren't sure if there would be any other places between here and the Mackinac Bridge.... We were glad we did! My husband got a 1/4 lb (1 patty) burger and I got a whitefish sandwich and we topped it off by sharing a large fries The owner and his assistant were friendly. The sandwiches are massive on delicious buns and the fries were humongous (hand cut). Both the fish and beef are local which is a huge plus since we prefer to go to "mom and pop" restaurants that are local when we travel. I only wish we had room for an ice cream, (They had a lot of flavors that really looked enticing-l -- 2 brands from the Ludington area) but with the huge bag of food, we wouldn't have been able to eat anything more. Next time we are up here, we might try out the poutine and an ice cream! On top of it, while we were waiting for the food to come out, the owner told us the story of how his restaurant came to be, he had lost his arm when a semi hit him while helping someone on the side of the road. He had a welding business, but had to switch gears when his accident happened. He decided to open his restaurant and we stopped in on the 3rd anniversary-- it took him 1-1/2 years to remodel the store and he did all of the steel work himself. The inside looks bright and new with picnic tables he built himself. You could see the pride in his eyes. I'm sure it must be packed in the summertime when the weather is nice or when the snowmobilers are in town. Because of the pandemic, unfortunately, we couldn't sit inside, so headed back in the car to eat. The owner even came out and asked us how things were. It's the small town warmth that we appreciated. I can imagine that would have been the same had we been able to eat inside. The owner and his assistant were both wearing masks and the inside was spotless. Here's hoping his business picks up (they haven't had much snow) and that we can stop in again the next time we are in the area. read more

My family and I came in today for the first time, and will not be the last! First off the feel of the space is open and clean. The food... oh the food. We all got variation's of burgers and fries, and also tried the poutine and it was all fantastic. Everything tasted fresh and the owner was so incredibly nice, you could tell that this place is his baby and he is very passionate about it. And they are incredibly aware of allergies- they put gloves on and have a separate fryer for the fries to avoid cross contamination. Extremely accommodating- they will serve the burgers on a fresh bed of lettuce (grown on a local farm) and the bathroom is so clean you could literally eat Kim there! what could be better - nothing although the friendly owners are beyond gracious!! A very clean, bright restaurant with a friendly staff. Cheeseburgers were great- not greasy, fresh toppings on a soft white roll actually worth eating. Whitefish was very lightly battered, flaky, and flavorful. Their UP version of poutine hit the spot. Kids enjoyed ice cream and a shake for dessert. A pleasant, easy stop on our US2 summer travels. Great choice here. They were out of hamburger so we had fish, and this is not standard frozen fish fare, it's fresh and they bread it right there in front of you! Tarter sauce is homemade too. Definitely a good (but lucky) choice to stop in here! Keeping the place wiped down too with the Covid issue, so that was an additional bonus. read more
