We have gone to the Ocean House many times. It is a good choice for couples seeking some quiet time at the coast. There was a change in management since our last visit and my opinion has shifted a little. I found the management very accommodating when an accident greatly delayed our arrival. I very much approve of their service. The food isn't as good as it was before - it was honestly average. Not bad, by any stretch, but lacking the special touches that take a meal to the next level. One example was breakfast burritos, but without sour cream, avocado, lime crema, or similar. Solid, but not special. Still a good choice and reconvened, overall.

I left a more exhaustive review on Expedia, but suffice it to say that Ocean House is one of the most special places I have been to lately. That says a lot, because everyone calls me a total 'hotel snob', and I'm often disappointed by very pricy 5 star hotels. I have had the good fortune of having stayed in hundreds of amazing hotels and properties in many countries around the world, and this little gem, not two hours from our home, is one of my favorites now. Perfect location, immaculately kept, friendly staff and and a unique, personal vibe, not some corporate cookie-cutter BS. If you have a chance to go, you won't regret it. Pro tip: The bigger, somewhat more expensive rooms really do offer much more value at this property.

A great BnB at a great location. We were only passing through for 1 night but having traveled much of the northwest Oregon and Washington coast this location was by far our favorite so far. The amenities are great and with the location offset lower cost options. Wyles the host was friendly and checkin was smooth. Put it on your list, you won't be sorry

Great location. Very clean. Quiet. Fireplace & AC for all the weather! Best homemade chocolate chip cookies & beverages. Love the fire pit with fresh cut wood. Homemade breakfast too. A gem:)

This was the most incredible vacation due in part to the amazing beauty and accommodations that were beyond perfect. The staff is so kind, which makes for an even better journey. I must say that Nancy made our entire stay special and comfortable. She is so sweet and efficient. Our check in was simple, and the entire home is just gorgeous. The decor is up to date, and everything is very clean. Our room, Windswept, was everything we imagined, and the views were breathtaking. The linens were comfortable, and there is an extra blanket in the armoire in case you get cold. The ceiling fan provides a perfect amount of air movement, and we loved the ability to open two windows to be able to hear the incredible waves. There is also the ability to have music piped into your room - lovely. The bathroom was spa-like, and it was outfitted so well. And then there are the breakfasts. Holy Moly! Incredibly inventive menus with perfect portion sizes. There are choices for those who do not want the main offering as well. Eggs Benedict, omelets, pancakes, scrambled eggs, and breakfast scrambled - and they are brought to your table with a smile and good cheer. The orange juice is fresh and delicious, and there is also coffee and a large variety of teas. Yum!!!! The deck is beautiful and offers incredible views of the forest and ocean. We actually saw a bald eagle! There are many private sitting spaces around the property to enjoy wave watching. The staircase to the beach is well-maintained and offers some spots to catch your breath (there are a lot of stairs). Then, there is afternoon wine hour and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!!!! Every day!!! This establishment is just perfect, and we look forward to returning, as we were beyond thrilled with our vacation.

After a long day of driving it was so nice to find a much needed sanctuary. Mandy and all the staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly. I stayed in the Sea Rose room it was clean and quiet. Had the best nights sleep in a long time. I awoke to hot coffee and a fabulous breakfast. Will definitely stay here again!

We stayed here last night! It was so nice and quiet! The breakfast was so delicious (drench don't bake and fruit with sausage). Would stay here again. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the sea rose too. There was no tv but can get one upon request (we found it wasn't needed though) was nice not having the distraction.

WOW, this bed and breakfast was so warm, welcoming, with phenomenal views/beach access! The staff was friendly and accommodating; for example we got delayed on the road and they were accommodating to let us check in late (FYI they have a set time for check-in and I believe it was from 4-6 pm?). Also they are accommodating for cooking a dairy free breakfast, without compromising the flavor! The rocking chairs in our room could of used an upgrade, but the rest of our stay was delightful.

If you are looking for the friendliest staff, the best views, warm conversation, cozy (yet spacious) rooms, and the most amazing breakfast; LOOK NO FURTHER! Craig and Dawn (the proprietors) have a long history in hospitality, and it shows. The service was amazing, the coffee was delicious, the personal setting is comfortable, and the experience is nothing short of poetry for the soul. This is the most ideal setting for couples! Just one street from the turn to Oregon's historic Yaquina Head Lighthouse; you are never out of things to see and do. Give them a call and book your stay today. Your spouse will thank you! We took our trip and spent just four days at the Ocean House; four days that will never be forgotten.

We stayed for a night to surf and explore a bit more south of the OR coast. Booking was a breeze. Check-in they were accommodating has my surf rental was at 330 and check-in at 4 - they allowed us to come early to drop our things which I greatly appreciate! Makki (hopefully I spelled her name correctly ) was SO sweet, she explained everything perfectly to us, showed us around, and started us off to a perfect stay. We stayed in the pacific room, and it had everything we needed. Including a heater The only thing is this room's balcony is attached to the common balcony so, really not an "add-on". Now , chef Joe you didn't have to season those eggs like that, had me scraping the plate. Overnight they leave out cookies and they were so good! These a beverage station that stays open all day and night. Now, the ocean front - we couldn't see it from our room - we could hear the ocean. Even at the view spots the ocean view is a bit obstructed. However, beach access is right there to go down. Which brings me to the surfing. Perfect place to stay if you want to surf. Ossie's surf shop is right behind the hotel and has rentals. Literally, we rented surf boards and walked across the highway to the beach access. Overall a great stay and would recommend!

We took the trail up to the lighthouse and saw the lightkeeper's home on the way. There is a fence all around and it is not open to the public, but there were people sitting on the porch! We realized it was a bed and breakfast and I was heartbroken not to have known about it before as we certainly would have included a stay there in our vacation plans. I tucked it away as a hopeful wish for someday.... Well, little did I know at the time, we ended up moving to Oregon a few years later! As soon as we were settled, I determined we must make a weekend trip and stay at the lighthouse. We finally did and it lived up to every one of my lofty expectations. The lightkeeper's house is accessed via a private road, and there are a few parking spaces near the house, but it was pretty tight. Upon arrival, we were greeted and brought to our room, with a quick tour of the home and some suggestions of things to see or do while there. We booked one of the Mariner's rooms as they have such a gorgeous view of the ocean. The bedroom and bathroom inside were definitely small, but that is to be expected in a historic home, and no matter as the bed was comfortable as could be! Of note, some rooms share a bathroom so check while booking if you have a preference. Once we'd checked it out, we stopped by the cheese and fruit out for guest's arrival on our way to the beach, and they were so sweet to give us a little box so we could pack some goodies to enjoy on the sand. They had wine, too! We spent a perfect hour or so at the beach, then headed into Florence for dinner. This or Yachats are the closest city for meals (about 20 minutes either direction) so either eat before you check in, or plan to go back out. They do have a kitchen that is available for guests, so you could bring an easy to prepare meal. Once we'd returned, we spent some more time at the beach, then relaxed in our room until dark. Then we grabbed a flashlight and headed on up the trail to admire the lighthouse in the night. This was such a unique experience and the highlight of our stay. You can see how far out the light beams to sea, and we hiked up a bit behind the lighthouse, so we were right at the level with the rotating light. Incredible! Back in our room, we cracked the windows for a lovely ocean breeze and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Perfection. In the morning, I took a little time to read through the ghost stories they have collected (too wimpy to read at night!), we wandered around the beach for a bit, and then guess what! The stay isn't over yet as there is a stunning seven course breakfast! This is served family style with other guests, although they do give you the option to dine separately if you let them know ahead of time. The food was magnificent! They explained each dish as it came out and it was all so fresh and skillfully prepared. We had a tropical fruit salad, bread, tuna ceviche, mango smoothie, quiche, sausage, panna cotta, and finished with fruit and cheese. Of note, if you don't wish to stay but would like to have breakfast in the lightkeeper's house, they do special breakfasts for special occasions and at certain times of the year, just check the website for dates. After the meal, they offered a little history tour inside the house which we sadly didn't have time to stay for, but we did go to the lighthouse for quick tour and to peruse the gift shop before checking out. It truly was such a dream of a trip, and I would definitely suggest staying for two nights. I thought one would be sufficient but would have loved more time. A couple tips about the area: This is just a mile or two north of the Sea Lion Caves. They are 110% a tourist trap, but still worth a visit if you've never been. We ate dinner at Mari's Kitchen in Florence and it was delicious, would highly suggest it, although it is located in a cute downtown area with all sorts of options. The same people who run the bed and breakfast own Ona's in Yachats, so I'm sure that would be great too. While in the area, make sure to plan some time to explore magical Cape Perpetua.
