Yogurt Cucumber Eggplant Dip Ikra Soltani Plate

Owner of the restaurant is a really nice and generous man. My husband placed a large order to go and ended up with a couple of free items from the owner. We ordered soltani, chicken kabobs, rice and several other items. Rice was buttery and the chicken was delicious. Everything was cooked to order and very fresh. This is a great option for the price and the quality of food you get. It took about 30 ish mins for the order to be completed and it was worth the wait.

Shish kabob plates, ikra and hummus (there was more rice, ikra and hummus not in the picture) Very generous portions!

Last minute takeout order on Mother's Day for 3 shish kabob plates, a long with separate sides of ikra & hummus. I can't believe everything was ready in just 30 minutes! Reasonable prices, generous portions, and a healthy stack of lavash to go with it! Can't wait to try more items from this place!

Amazing service. Would recommend. The hummus was incredibly smooth and the rice was super fluffy. I will be coming back!

Food was delicious and service was great! Randomly stumbled upon this place when the usual spot we go to had an hr wait. So glad we did. Will come again.

We came in about two hours before closing. They were only doing takeout, TWO hours before closing. We ordered the chicken luleh plate for takeout, but I believe they gave me the beef. Not a big fan of eating red meat, but I was already far away. The plate was super delicious. I liked the eggplant side. Sadly, they were out of garlic sauce. Overall, tasty food, and I'd recommend if you'd like a filling meal.

An unassuming kebab restaurant in the land of kebabs. Moon Mart is a local hangout for many neighborhood folks. A fixture and kind of a water cooler spot to have a familiar meal. A small dining room is adorned with a an ample size patio area for additional dining space. The small kitchen may be filled with a one or two person crew thus service may be slow on weekdays. The food is also a bit low key compared to your standard restaurant affair. Nearly homestyle, flavors are clean and a tad under seasoned like the usual manner. This all makes quite an average culmination of flavors, but still very appetizing. The portions are decent. Plate sizing can be shared or taken come to enjoy again. As for kebabs sake, the quality is good. Somewhat above par and yet not great. Except for the some sides such as their fresh tzatizki sauce and hummus, which is the best I have had. The service is friendly and caring, just may be a little slow. Take away is available and certain a good choice. Pricing is also a little above average.

Thanks to Yelp for the great spot! I found this on Yelp whole searching for Persian food while in Glendale. I wanted a smaller restaurant and not having to wait for a while to be seated. Place was great. Harry was nice, food was outstanding. Plenty of parking there. I highly recommend the food and will definitely return here soon

By far the best kebab I've had. It's a modest little place on Glendale Avenue with big flavor.

Found Salt and Olive down the street and we really enjoyed our meals. The restaurant is very nice and comfortable. We sat on the patio and got our menus right away. Water came right after that. It was between lunch and dinner time and there was just one person taking orders. It took a while to get our order placed, but the food came out shortly after that. The restaurant is very comfortable with a good amount of tables. The menu is pretty thorough and offers a lot of options. We went with a chicken wrap and a chicken kabob plate. Both dishes were cooked correctly, lots of flavor and presented well. The chicken was flavorful, and were good size pieces. The rice was very fluffy and had a nice flavor as well. The salad was basically just a salad. Not a lot to say about it. We were both full and happy when we were done with the meal. There is a parking lot that you can get your ticket validated for 90 minutes. We were lucky and found street parking very nearby. For the price, this is a good place. Not very pricey, it is a pretty good value. I did not get around to ordering any Baklava, but I saw a plate come out and I need to be sure to order it next time. It looked so good.

But it is without question the most important Armenian restaurant in the world. Armenians are simultaneously a diaspora people, a people of the book, and an old country people. Therefore, odd as it may seem, it is entirely appropriate that the most important Armenian restaurant in the world should not be located in Armenia at all, but should serve a diaspora community in a way that makes them feel connected to home, both interns of cuisine and in terms of communal warmth. Technically, this is more of a Lebanese restaurant than an Armenian restaurant, but that hardly matters. It's a place of celebration, merriment, laughter, and tears. In short, it is THE gathering place for Armenians in Southern California. Because of its fame and importance, the thing that is consistently overlooked about this restaurant is just how excellent the food is. Bring a Lebanese expat here and you will invariably hear them say after the first bite of hummus that it doesn't compare to the hummus they used to enjoy in Beirut. By the middle of the bowl, they will say that it actually is not as bad as they first thought. By the end of the bowl they will declare that this hummus ranks among the greatest they have ever tasted. Carousel does not overwhelm you. It seduces you. And you'll be back.

TLDR: Hear me out, if you have any doubt about chicken being less superior to beef or other meat. TRY the chicken thigh here. It makes justice for chickens (I still need to try their beef or lamb tho) I was running errands in Glendale today and I was starving and looking for lunch spots around. Turns out Mini Kabob was 3 mins walk away, it was a no brainer, my feet just took me there. Didn't expect to go there, so didn't order ahead but I'm fine with waiting. After last time's magnificent chicken thigh, I was determined to try their other entrees. However, Armen said the chicken thigh is the best seller out of their entrees- well, time for a round 2 I guess? This time I'm eating the entree at the spot and I just gotta say- IT SLAPS!! I'm genuinely not a big fan of chicken, because when you can choose beef why chicken? But this chicken is so juicy, so tender, so heavenly. Yummy!! The garlic sauce is great but the hummus and the fresh lavash, h o l y - f. Last time it was already so good even as a leftover, and eating it right at the spot is just transcending. I also tried their Armenian pear soda, it's delicious and refreshing with the heat right now in summer. I left with my tummy happy and their service is always great, they get busy but still no attitude, no bs, gives the right recommendations. Even this is like a take out restaurant, it still surpasses most of the kabob restaurant. Without doubt I'm coming back again after their break, please be there. I love you mini kabob

That's not all, tip will also be requested when checking out. Our Visit: My family and I have visited Elena's before and had a good experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This time, we noticed a clear drop in food quality, portion sizes, overall service and an unexpected new surprise on the bill. I came in with my wife, our two young children (10month old and 2 year old), and my mom. Unfortunately, the pita bread was stale, a portion of my wife's chicken was undercooked, the portions were noticeably smaller than before, and the server completely forgot my mom's drink. Those issues alone were frustrating, but what really stood out were the added fees at the end, fees that were not charged in the past. We were charged a 20% "large party fee", along with an additional "service fee". When I spoke with the owner, he explained that their system automatically applies a large party charge to any group of 4 or more people, including babies who don't even order food. That threshold seems unusually low, especially since most places consider 6 or more a "large party" and from my experience typically don't consider babies 2 years and younger as occupants. Even more concerning, none of these fees were clearly communicated to us beforehand. Being surprised with multiple charges at the end of a meal feels misleading and leaves a bad impression. To add to that, after already including these fees, the payment process still prompts customers to leave an additional tip. I've only seen this type of fee structure at higher-end restaurants and for more people, not at a casual spot like this, and even then it's usually disclosed upfront. If a business is going to charge extra, the service and overall experience should reflect that. My recommendation for Elena's, if you want to make more money, just raise your food prices so your customers at least know how much they're going to spend at the end. Not slap surprise charges at the end and force your customers to pay. On a positive note, at least they were playing Fast and the Furious on their TV. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL. Please be aware of their shady business practices.
