We happened to be in the area and as a fan of Bar Rescue I wanted to stop here. My husband indulged my love for reality TV and we stopped for a quick dinner with our 3 year old. The theming is evident throughout the restaurant and the menu. The inside felt comfortable and the restaurant was clean. The restroom have themed names like Bonnie and Clyde. My husband ordered the Baja Dog, I got the crispy chicken sandwich without bacon, and our kid ordered the grilled cheese. My husband proclaimed it the best hot dog that he's ever had. My sandwich was incredible! Both of us liked the sides--fries and chips too. Our kid seemed to be a big fan too--polished off the sandwich and most of the fries so that's a win for a 3 year old! I'm not a huge drinker but my husband encouraged me to try something since it was a Bar Rescue place. I asked our server what he suggested and he recommended one of their specialty drinks for March Madness. It was delicious and well balanced. Our server was super helpful, attentive, and kind. I can't even lie I walked in and was a little uncomfortable at first. This was my first time coming here and there were a lot of bikers and I thought ohh noo I picked the wrong restaurant. AND then my waiter walked over and was the best waiter ever!!! I wish I had gotten his name. He helped me choose a great drink and the food was wonderful. I even ordered desert for me and my husband. Parking definitely not an issue and I learned a great lesson that day..never judge a book by its cover. I definitely am coming back and would strongly recommend you come to. This was an interesting dining experience. After reading good reviews, we decided to try Moon Runners with some friends. It is definitely more of a bar vibe than a restaurant which wasn't really what we were looking for at that moment. When we got there they had just started a tv themed bingo night which seemed really fun but it was ridiculously loud. Following that they had an impromptu live band karaoke night which also was very very loud even when no one was singing. We could barely hear the person across from us. The staff was very nice but service was pretty slow. The food was okay, nothing outstanding but not bad. I tried the Southern Mac n cheese with bacon and my husband had one of the burgers. They had lots of items that sounded good on the menu but I'm not sure if we'll be back. read more

Went to South Garner today! Crappy service why it took 2 hours to get our food entirely makes NO sense since everyone around came in after us and go their food and left before we did. Server came and asked us again what we ordered said she wanted to make sure and check the kitchen my guess is someone either didn't place the order or forgot. Service rather sucked. read more

Food was pretty good. Brisket sandwich was good, my wife gave it 4, but the sauce was a little spicy for her. We are not spicy people though. My fried chicken sandwich was ok 3. The chicken was kind of dry, but all the cheese helped. We would go back, but we liked the one Hwy 42 in South Garner better. We only live about 6 minutes from Moon Runners but just haven't ever made it over to try it and we are so glad that we finally did tonight! The food was delicious, staff were friendly and service was excellent. We had the combination platter with chicken bites (spicy garlic Parmesan sauce) jalapeño poppers and potato skins and the Baja dog with fries. The fries were battered which was delicious. The prices were super reasonable and the portions were generous! Our only slight qualm was that the spicy garlic Parmesan wings tasted like jarred garlic but that is likely a personal issue and the chicken was still delicious and crispy. Everything else was an absolute 10. Overall it's a great local spot and we will definitely be back! Extra points for fun themed karaoke night and well priced daily specials. read more

As a hockey dad, there is nothing quite like calling around for reservations for 25 and a last-minute notice. This place not only accommodated, but went well over the top, giving us a separate room for our party off the main dining room. Our waiter was fantastic and attentive, spent time with the kids, trying to get their meals written down, and was kind enough to bring theirs out as soon as it was done so that they could eat. Food was hot cooked very well. Drinks were fantastic. Couldn't ask for a better place for groups. The main dining room looked to be nice as well, especially with the party area being cordoned off and separated, so there was no noise transferred. read more

We stopped here on the way home from CH and I found it on Yelp. It doesn't look like much, and is honestly pretty run down and there is an odor I can't describe any other way but just "old wood." But! I trusted my fellow Yelpers and ate here. While it's run down, it is clean. There was not a speck of food on the floor and the tables were clean. The service was phenomenal - there when we needed her but didn't bug us. She was also very genuine. The batter on the fired pickles was beautiful! Seriously. And, it was also delicious! Went on a Friday for karaoke and on Sat for Music Trivia. The food was great! And Friday karaoke with Harry is the best always! Also, Saturday Music Bingo with Kristy was really fun! I wish to mention servers Matt, Chris, Tiffany, Natalie, MacKenzie, and Kiran for their excellent service on these two nights. Matt, Natalie, Tiffany, and Chris have been there for a number of years. which to me, speaks well of the establishment. In addirion, these individuals have given me consistently excellent, and respectful service since I started going there about 5 years ago when I first moved to the area. With a side of cole slaw because I'm still enjoying my keto diet and losing weight. Service was excellent. The burger was top quality and size. For $6.50 with tax? A complete bargain. After hearing positive reviews, we decided to order take-out from Moonrunners Saloon. Online ordering was easy and our order was ready in about 20 minutes. I went inside about 15 minutes after placing the order. I was greeted quickly and informed that my order was nearly finished. While waiting, I read the news article posted at the entrance about Bar Rescue. It was interesting to read since I hadn't realized they were on the show. I have terribly luck with order accuracy, so when the order was ready I checked it at the counter. Everything was perfect and it looked so delicious. When we got home, I was excited to dig in. We ordered the bootleg burger, jumbo wings, and speakeasy shrimp and steak salad. We enjoyed all of the items ordered. The portions and prices were reasonable. The wings are grilled not fried. I prefer them grilled, but if you prefer them fried you might not like them as much. All of the items are flavored well. This was my first time going to the Moon Runners Saloon, I'm originally from Ohio, this was the first meal I ate after our 9 hour drive so it could be a hunger bias, but the food was so delicious, the burger was cooked to perfection. The service was okay at best, our server was attentive at times but with how slow it was in the restaurant I felt like they weren't as attentive as they could've been, that could just be me being picky. The overall ambience of the restaurant was really nice and I loved the design of it. The food was so good, the design of the restaurant was really awesome, the service was decent, with all of these factors in mind I'd rate Moon Runners a 4/5 stars. I'd definitely go again! read more

Love this place! So happy I gave then a try, they are a staple now! Let's start with their appetizers. Love the loaded fries (sub fries for tater tots). Always perfectly cooked and loaded with cheese and bacon. The ranch? Heavenly. Then there is the shrimp and crab dip! Killer! Perfectly cheesy, the mini shrimp is a nice touch and the flavor is wonderful! You can get it served with chips, bread, or both. Then there is the bootleg burger. Perfectly cooked burger topped with melted cheese, crispy bacon, and delicious onion straws. I can't get enough of this burger. It is my go to every time I visit this restaurant.
