Lucky 32 is a southern inspired kitchen that puts a creative spin on its food that you can't miss. We went for a friends birthday and started with cocktails. I had the bourbon berry crush and it was a perfect blend of bourbon and fresh berries and mint and was not overly sweet. We also had the spicy peach margarita and I highly recommend trying this spin on a classic. It was a very refreshing margarita that was freshly made and not overly sweet. The shoestring okra is an appetizer that you have to try. I honestly could have eaten two plates, it is perfectly crispy and a bit spicy with a great aioli dipping sauce. We also had the heirloom tomatoes with goat cheese and the pork rinds and pimento cheese. They were all devoured and enjoyed by all. I ordered the cornmeal crusted catfish with grits and blistered okra. I honestly can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal so much. The catfish and the grits paired together perfectly. We also had jambalaya and pork schnitzel. I can't wait to return. The waitress was very knowledgeable and the ambiance was great for a girl's night. Cinco de Mayo so we ordered the Okra Fries, Fried Green tomatoes also the bacon-wrapped meatloaf with Crispy onions on top, a special sauce, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Next we ordered the cheeseburger lettuce and tomatoes, pickled red onions, pimento cheese and a green salad. All of our food was prepared well and the flavors were on target. They packed it up in two to go bags: one for chilled items and the other was for hot to go takeout. The service is accurate and efficient with fast takeout to go with assistance getting everything in the car in handicapped parking was a nice touch that showed empathy and compassion. This was our first time visiting and we are so happy that we checked it out. We did have a little bit of a wait when we checked in. We also did have a reservation. Once we got our table, our server came over and greeted us right away she was very pleasant and nice. We started with the fried green tomatoes and then we got the chicken and biscuit and French toast. Everything was delicious, lots of flavor. I will say the portion sizes were on the larger side. No complaints here. Everything was so good. We were too full to get dessert, but the options looked amazing. The restaurant is pretty big. Also has a pretty decent amount of parking. Lucky 32 had lovely ambiance and super nice and helpful staff. We had a party of four and we were seated in a very comfortable booth that felt private and quiet, although the restaurant was bustling for a Sunday lunch. I really enjoyed my strawberry mocktail! The fried green tomatoes with bacon and voodoo sauce were also very nice! I was disappointed in my salmon salad- the salmon tasted like it came from a can or something. My friends didn't enjoy their burgers because they said they tasted like they'd been cooked on a griddle, when the server assured us they were flame broiled (who knows, but they were bummed to have spent to much for a premium burger that didn't feel premium). My husband enjoyed his bacon wrapped meatloaf- it was rich, but a nice indulgence. All in all, I wish I'd ordered differently for my entree but I did enjoy my dining experience! read more

Came here for a work dinner and service was good for our group of six. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and while we had a reservation, you may be lucky to get a table on a weekday without issue. Not pictured is my entree which was the special, a halibut which was probably the best plate out of the entire group. My coworker shared of piece of his brick chicken and I found it a bit dry. I was in town for work, and the reviews brought me here. The food was incredible, but I have to say the best part of the evening was my server (AG). He was kind, thoughtful, and we had a lovely chat. My family and I returned to Lucky 32 thanks to a gift card from a friend, and it felt like a welcome revisit to a place we hadn't dined at in some time. Great experience, ambiance, service and food! Came here to celebrate a birthday before the Chinese lantern light show. Such a great experience. Our server was accommodating and friendly. Consistently checked on us and provided all things even remembering the birthday cake for the birthday person (from our reservation note). I ordered the jambalaya (mild) and it was very tasty! I also had the fried green tomatoes and fried okra. All very good and not oily. For dessert we had the Sweet Potato Cheesecake which was amazing! Star of the show! If you're a fan of American Test Kitchen (ATk) the way that I am, you will especially appreciate this review. I've never had a bad meal here. Not only is the waitstaff trained especially well, the food is pretty darn good. With that being said, there is always room for improvement. I ordered the chicken sandwich. My lunch companion the herbed chicken option. The complementary bread and butter was fantastic. The cornmeal batter chicken could have benefited from a dash or two of salt. In most instances the lack of salt would not be an issue ( due to sauces) However- a good portion of the chicken protrudes beyonds the bun. The collard greens were a tad bit under salted, and acidic , but tasty nonetheless. The fries were too good. I have to say it again, the fries were too good. I love pickles and l love okra, but how do I feel about pickled okra (it was delicious)? Honestly, I can nitpick about options because the food is that good! If you love Americanized Southern food, at an affordable price point this is your go-to-option! Came here for a book club meeting! We ended up making a larger reservation than we needed and our server Dell and the manager Morgan were FABULOUS with accommodating us. The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered so much amongst the 5 of us. I had the shrimp and grits and they were BOMB. The fried green tomatoes? GET THOSE. The truffle fires? GET THOSE TOO. Crab dip? YOU KNOW THE DRILL. I consider Lucky 32 a staple of my childhood. My family and I used to go to the old one off of Falls of the Neuse all the time before it shut down years ago. Unfortunately it's not the same as we've remembered. This wasn't my first time at the Cary location, but it was for my family. The restaurant itself is beautiful and I really love the ambiance. The waitstaff are courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. We went here for my brother's birthday and first shared the Shoestring Okra Fries (highly recommend - they're delicious). Three of us also ordered bowls of she crab soup, and we all really enjoyed that. The meals were hit and miss. A couple of us really enjoyed our food. My brother and I thought ours were so-so. I got the pan seared brick chicken, which honestly to me; wasn't anything special. It reminded me of a meal we'd frequently make at home and there just wasn't a ton of flavor. I expected more. My brother felt the same way about his steak bearnaise. Lucky 32 also used to serve a chicken tomato basil soup that was very popular, so popular they released the recipe for it years ago. Food was too salty and overcooked. I ordered the chicken sandwich and asked that no salt be put on my French fries. What I got was an overcooked piece of chicken that was just on the verge of being burnt. And, salty fries. This was returned, and I almost didn't want anything after that. I ordered the hamburger with no added salt, and this time it was made to order and was very good. But, I took it to go since the others were all finished with their meals, and I had a very good lukewarm hamburger and fries at home. My family ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were very good. Two salmon dinners and a catfish dinner. Our 91-year-old mother was with us, and I requested that no salt and pepper be put on her salmon, but what did we get? Salt and pepper on the salmon. A catfish dinner was also ordered, and while it was good, my brother-in-law also said it was too salty. The service was good, but our waitress didn't quickly check on us to see how we liked the food. I had to flag her down to tell her about my chicken sandwich. The manager then came over to check and quickly gave me a menu. I did not get comped for my messed-up food. The dining area is nice, but a little loud. If you''re hard of hearing, you will not like this place. This restaurant should be named "Salt 32" because of the over-salted food across the board. Visited Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen as a 1st time patron. I typically do not dine in Cary often as all of my dining needs are met in Raleigh. When I arrived the parking area was jam packed with cars ( that was a good sign to me as it signaled delicious food). Because there was no reservation, bar seating was ideal. The bar staff were great, cool energy and fan-tab-ulous cocktails. The current fall pecan cocktail menu will be around until Nov. 12th. The She-Crab soup was really good. I ordered the catfish with green beans and grits. The beans were so buttery and flavorful. The grits were tasty. The cat fish was beautifully fried, but unfortunately it was not flavorful at all ( I carried home, fixed the season less catfish and throughly enjoyed) The bar staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks and alcohols. L32 is in a great location and is really easy to locate. The interior is warm and cozy, and is very clean and comfortable. The service was great and our waiter gave great suggestions. We decided on the voodoo deviled eggs as our appetizer and got two entrees: the crawfish fettuccine and the fried chicken plate. Note: come with an appetite since these portions are LARGE. The plates are big, but the dishes themselves can be leftovers for 1-2 days. The fried chicken plate came with a gigantic chicken breast (see photo) and two average sized pieces (drumstick and wing). It was a bit difficult to eat due to the size, so maybe make the fried chicken pieces all the same size? Not only that, but all the items on the plate were overly salty. The fettuccine was delicious, but the shrimp tasted as though it was frozen before cooking. It tasted a bit bland by itself. We ordered the mixed berry sorbet for dessert and it was the perfect palate cleanser to end the meal. Tart and light! Overall, I would give it a 7.5/10. Looking for some lunch after the spa and Lucky 32 was a couple minutes away! Jackpot! I called to see if we needed a reservation, it wasn't needed but left our name anyway. Walked in, we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. The menu was a mix of brunch, apps and entrees. We ordered the truffle fries for the table and when they arrived we gobbled them up. Entrees were delicious and fresh as was the multigrain bread per one of the ladies in my party. The restaurant has two sides, one more dining room and the other more tavern with a bar. We were seated on the bar side. I would have loved not seeing the news played on a loop- a more neutral program would have been preferred. But that's the only negative, if you can call it that. Had a very light and crispy buttermilk coating with a thin blue cheese dressing drizzle and an amazing sweet and spicy Voodoo sauce. Had a lovely meal at Lucky 32, happy to visit this location in Raleigh after missing the one that closed in Winston-Salem years ago. Had two delicious drinks, the Lavender Smash and Black and Blue Mule. Bread service was a hearty brown bread. Chose the salmon with heirloom tomatoes for my entree and it was perfectly cooked. Wish I'd had time and room for dessert but noted Affogato was an option on the dessert menu. Pleasant, upscale atmosphere and attentive service. read more

We have enjoyed Lucky 32 for decades and the food and service is usually top notch...until tonight. After my wife and I were seated in the bar area, about 15 minutes passed with no one stopping by our table, not even acknowledging our presence. Tables on either side of us were served immediately upon seating the guests. It was like we were lepers. I finally got up and went to the bar for drinks where we were promptly served by Rob the bartender. He was shocked to hear of our experience and served up the drinks immediately. I returned to the table and still no one had stopped to talk to my wife. A few more minutes went by and I finally grabbed a menu and headed back to the bar to talk to my new friend Rob (the only staff member who would even talk to us). He was horrified I was back and graciously took our food order. A few minutes later Rob came to the table with water and bread and said he would be looking after us, which he did. The food was good as usual. I flagged down a manager as she passed by to tell her about the ordeal and that she needed to give Rob a raise and told her how he stepped up. She was courteous... By this time we were visited by the other bartender and even the waitress serving the tables on either side of us, ( I assume she was assigned to ours as well) topping off our waters...once, the first interaction with her all night. There were no apologies for the ordeal from anyone but Rob. When Rob brought the check I told him how impressed I was with how he handled the situation. I owned a small business for 14 years and have first hand experience with employees. Most employees these days would have told the customer they would find out who their waiter is and send them to their table. Rob went way above and beyond in taking the initiative and the responsibility of our table on top of his normal duties. Sadly we learned Robs last night was tonight. L32 lost a good one. Guys like Rob are worth their weight in gold. Great attitude, excellent service and a willingness to do what ever it takes to take care of customers without being told to. A rare combination today. I've missed this place! Haven't been in several years and I feel like I've been missing out. I really like the vibe of the restaurant. It feels like a great place for a date night, get together with friends, or a family outing. Our waiter was so kind and attentive. He included a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating a birthday. All the dishes were thoroughly enjoyed. The she-crab soup had a lovely flavor and texture with a good amount of crab. The smoked trout dip had a really nice smoke flavor, and the whipped cream cheese with pepper jelly was so good, especially topping it with some of the candied pecans. We took home half of the appetizer, and enjoyed it the next day with our own crackers because we flew through theirs! The only miss for us were the deviled eggs. Pimentos are something I'll eat, but don't love, and neither of us cared for the eggs.
