    Shrimp Kow

I got a call from the restaurant (I didn't mind) after I placed my order because they weren't sure if they noted it correctly... Shrimp kow with no bok choy combo, I picked up my ordered within 15 min, so they were fast and the food was hot... but I got bok choy, no egg-roll and no sweet and sour sauce... so you definitely have to check your food before you leave the restaurant.

A qualifier for my review, and to anyone from the south side/Evergreen Park area, my opinion is based on frequenting Lang Lee foods on 95th street and their second location in Orland Park for over 30 years. This, hands down, is the best food I've had since my first experiences at Lang Lee. Every dish has been absolutely amazing and some even better than growing up. I highly recommend this restaurants food, I can not speak to eating in house, have always carried out or delivery. I can say that when my brother comes in from out of town, a meal from here is a must. The food has always been high quality and MY expectations to food temp. for pick up and delivery have been spot on. I will have to start leaving more pictures for more dishes in the future. This review has pics of egg rolls, crab Rangoon, an order of pan fried noodles, Thai chili chicken and Thai chili shrimp. I hope you can find the pleasure that I do when you eat their food, I'd drive an hour to eat here, easily.

My friend had received this order and the bag was LITERALLY dripping in grease this is absolutely disgusting and how do you even give someone their food like this. Never ordering from here again that is absolutely RIDICULOUS that they can even present a customer with this. Not okay!!!! and i'm pretty sure all the "good" reviews they have are fake

My waitress was Vicki and she was pretty pleasant, so that was a plus. The fish ceviche opener is a real nice touch - though I'd prefer fresh cooked chips with it over the crunchy tostada pieces they serve. I ended up ordering shrimp empanadas for starters; $6.99. They were cooked/fried just right as they had a very light brown color, not greasy at all and were piping hot. Came with a "Thousand Island-like" sauce which suited them well. Enchiladas Coras was my entrée choice, this was pretty good and priced at $11.99. Refried beans, rice and a salad (I've never understood why so many Mexican restaurants insist on including a salad with their entrees and put the cold lettuce and veggies on a hot plate - no sense to me, but that's another soapbox). Another reviewer noted that the salsa tastes like seasoned lime juice - I'll second that opinion. It would be nice if they had better and maybe a choice of 2-3 salsas. Reasonably priced Pacifico's at $4.75 each. But overall for me, a good experience. I've been by there when it's busy and I don't think I'd enjoy the place when it's like that. But on a quiet Monday night, it's worth a shot. One thing I will say is that I know seafood isn't cheap nowadays, but this place is generally a bit on the pricey side for the kind of atmosphere there. About half of the plates and silverware you get are to-go type stuff. With entrees in the $20 - $60 range on the menu (mine was one of the least expensive), the "to-go" stuff seems a little tacky.

I've never gone to a different location cause I don't want to risk being disappointed when I know I cannot go wrong here. Yum.

Upon entering, the place was dead with only one customer eating. Marcy took our order and she was not the kindest person. The food came out fresh after we waited for over 15 minutes, but was nothing special. Very greasy and lacked flavor. She was unprofessional on the phone talking to Uber Eats and it made the meal uncomfortable on top of the tacky and random marine animal decor and poor choice of music playing in the TV. Their restaurant is lacking severely in taste and hospitality. I patiently waited to request for sauces that she forgot to give and she made it seem like I was intruding and interrupting her. She looked over at our table with a rude look and was displeased to give us the ranch that is included in the combo meal. The cole slaw is shredded to pieces and has no bite, the catfish was undercooked and too soft, the shrimps still had shells under the batter, and the chicken wings were small. Everything was extremely oily. They are charging extra for hot sauce, but it literally is just Louisiana hot sauce in a tiny dipping cup. Our total for two meals was $33. You're better off going to another chicken and seafood restaurant for a better deal and price. I was going to do a food vlog at this place, but they are not worth the time wasted to edit and spotlight.

Good prices with many selections even if you aren't into seafood including pasta and tacos. The only thing is the seafood needs to be cooked with a lil crab boil or seasoning for additional flavor on the actual crab, etc ... I had 2 bags.... 1-jumbo crab clusters (they actual look like regular snow crab) , 1lb. shrimp, 1/2 lb green mussels (beautiful size and plump), 2 regular crab clusters, and 1/2 lb crawfish. Most importantly you get corn and potatoes in your bag. A perfect amount of food even if you are not a huge eater. Great drink options also.

I enjoyed the pickles, good size, fresh each, breaded perfectly. Our entree consisted of garlic noodles, shrimp, snow crab, corn on the cob, and potatoes. We tried the crab da jour seasoning hott! I thought everything was delicious, plenty of shrimp, there was enough to take home, fresh, tasty food . Melrose park has a gem. Service was very good, attentive. Some customers will have an issue with the service fee included on their bills but I thought it was worth it. Definitely worth the trip

I grabbed a seat at the bar and waited about 10 minutes before the hostess came over. She politely let me know I needed to remove my hat or leave, even though I was tucked away in the corner. No big deal--I took it off... besides the inevitable hat hair! I was hoping to enjoy a glass of Moët or Dom Pérignon, but they don't offer either by the glass or in splits. The bartender recommended their Cava, and even let me sample it, which I appreciated. The only downside was the tasting glass had just come out of the dishwasher and was still warm, which took away from the experience. I ended up ordering the Cava, and it was a pleasant choice. The bartender recommended the Ahi Tuna Tartare, and it was easily the highlight of the meal. Beautiful presentation with vibrant colors, fresh ahi tuna, creamy avocado, sweet mango, and crispy wonton chips. Every bite was fresh, balanced, and packed with flavor. I would absolutely order it again. For my entrée, I ordered the Red King Crab Legs (half pound) for $88, served with garlic butter and garlic mashed potatoes. The crab itself was very good, but the plate leaned a little too heavily on the garlic for my taste. I asked for regular melted butter instead, and while the bartender happily brought it out, it unfortunately arrived cold. Between the cold butter and all the garlic, I didn't end up finishing the dish. The live piano music was a wonderful touch. She was incredibly talented and added to the upscale atmosphere throughout the evening. The service wasn't the best, but it was solid. There were a few small misses throughout the meal, but nothing that completely ruined the experience. I've been fortunate enough to enjoy seafood all over the country, and while Truluck's is a quality restaurant, I'd still rank Joe's Stone Crab in Chicago, Mama's Fish House in Paia, Hawaii, 555 East Steakhouse in Long Beach, and Swan Oyster Depot in San Francisco ahead of it. Overall, it was an okay dining experience. Nothing was bad, but nothing truly stood out enough to make me want to come back. I'm glad I gave it a try, but based on my personal experience, it just didn't live up to the expectations I had for the price point. 4 out of 5 stars. #TheFoodie99
