On 4/27/2018, I went to the Moon Valley Nursey on Tule Springs Road and selected a beautiful palo verde tree. It had a trunk that was about 5 feet tall with lots of branches and flowers at the top of the tree. I paid for the tree and watched the salesman put a tag with my last name on it and a sold sign. I took pictures of my tree so I would have a record of what I bought. When I went to the counter they said delivery was about a month away. I wanted to cancel the sale but they talked me out of it and said they would not sell my tree to anyone else and would take care of it for the month until delivery. Delivery was set for May 25. On May 25, the crew showed up at my house and dug the hole where I wanted the tree to be planted. They then brought a palo verde BUSH into my yard and said it was the tree I bought. The bush had a trunk no more than ONE foot tall with branches coming out of it. It was a BUSH not the TREE that I bought and paid for. They asked if I wanted them to plant it and I told them no because it was not what I bought and paid for. They proceeded to take it back to the truck. I called Ben and told him they brought the wrong tree to my yard and this far inferior bush was certainly not the tree I paid for. Instead of Ben saying he was sorry for the mistake and would bring the tree I paid for right out to me, he said he might possibly have another tree to bring out sometime the next week. It was obvious to me that the tree I paid for was no longer on the lot after waiting an entire month for delivery. I told Ben if he did not have my tree he needed to give me a full refund. I told him I did not appreciate moon valley wasting not only a month of my time waiting for the tree, but also wasting an entire day waiting for them to deliver my tree and showing up with the bush. After hanging up I went to my yard and found the crew had driven away and left the gigantic hole they dug in my yard for me to fill in. I called Ben back and told him to call his crew and get their asses back to my yard, fill in the hole, put my water and electric lines, and decorative rock back they way they found it. They returned about 5 minutes later. Needless to say I do not recommend Moon Valley nursey. Not only was my time wasted, but Ben's response to me when I told him the wrong tree was delivered was completely unacceptable, as is the crew leaving a gigantic hole in my yard for me to fill in. I feel like this was a classic Bait and Switch scheme. I paid for a beautiful tree and they brought me a far inferior scrawny bush instead. I will go to Star Nursery to get a tree. UPDATE, May 31. I received a phone call from the new General Manager named Ben (not the same Ben I spoke to on May 25). He promised to resolve this issue for me. I appreciated the time he took to talk to me today. UPDATE, June 4. Today the crew delivered the correct tree and planted it. The customer service I received from Ben the general manager was excellent. read more

Called them because I had a couple trees in my yard that needed some attention. I also added a bunch of trees/shrubs etc. My total bill was over $16K. To begin, it took longer than expected to get the new trees put in. I was expecting a couple days, but it was longer. After they planted the new trees, I had the irrigation system overhauled. Those folks (irrigation people) wondered why they (Moon Valley) hadn't been more careful with the previous irrigation lines. Some of it could have been salvaged, so their lack of care cost me extra money to to have it replaced. Within a day or so, of planting despite due diligence,, some of the shrubs were not looking good. After numerous calls, I finally got my sales rep to come out and look. Despite some of the shrubs looking pretty crappy, he said they will survive (which means I will have to wait a year or so for them to look okay if they do indeed survive). Despite the reps help with fertilizer, there was still a vital element missing. The original reason I went to Moon Valley was to get help for the trees I already had and were/are looking brown. At that point, 6 weeks after I paid for the service, I still didn't even have a date that they were going to come out. Finally I got one and it was 12/1/25. Considering that I paid on September 13, it's not much to ask to have services rendered in a timely fashion. I was irate. Lo and behold, the following day, I got another message saying they wouldn't be out until 12/19/25! Three months after paying! When I voiced my displeasure, they basically told me to "too bad". I opted to cancel at that point. They told me I couldn't cancel through them, I had to cancel through my rep. After multiple attempts to cancel and get a refund, my rep has completely ghosted me. I spent a small fortune to get my yard looking good. Not only is it a subpar result, they robbed me of the joy my yard brought (and the money I paid for services never rendered). Now all I see when I look at the trees is how I got taken advantage of. Thanks for ruining my sanctuary. $16k and I can't stand to be out there anymore. Shame on you. Once they have your money, you cease to exist. Avoid at all costs. read more

When I leave a business feeling like I am the most important person in the world, I must write a review.. I live currently in Phoenix area, where I have seen SEVERAL Moon Valley nurseries. I am house sitting for my friend who is currently in Hawaii. I used to landscape in Montana, and so I decided to do some yard maintenance and landscaping for her while I was here. She had a gift card that was several years old, for $100 , so I took it to Moon to get some plants for her yard. Well, the gift card was so old the magnetic strip wouldn't run. While i the process of attempting to get the card to work, my debit card was run twice on accident. I decided to try yo contact corporate to figure out my gift card issue and left. The next day I realized my card had been charged twice, so I returned to the nursery to get a refund. While there, two amazing guys Dylan and Alan made it their personal responsibilities to make my day wonderful. Dylan informed me that corporate had already initiated a refund as they had noticed a double charge and no invoice, so that was not an issue, not only that, but instead of making me go through corporate to try to get my ancient gift cqrd exchanged for one I could use, Dylan insisted that I get my $100 worth of plants I had come for the previous day, and be charged nothing. I simply handed them the gift card and Alan took me around to re-gather the plants I had picked out. He loaded them for me, and then carefully loaded them in my car for me. I have not been treated to sweetly and professionally by a business in a while, and I left feeling eternally grateful for tjose who make it their duty to take care of others in this world. It would have been just as easy for these men to suggest I "try to get ahold of corporate to figure it out on my own" as the man had suggested the previous day.. These two deserve a raise. Thank you Dylan and Alan, you made my day, and I will definately be sending my veteran friend back to you for all future plant needs. I appreciate you guys so much. I had Mark come to my home to discuss a couple of projects I wanted to do in my backyard. He arrived on time and was professional, pleasant and, most importantly, honest. One of the things I wanted to do was put up a privacy barrier between my home and my neighbor. Mark was very knowledgeable about everything and, in fact, addressed questions I had written down before I even asked them. We decided on the type of trees that would best suit my purpose and we agreed that I would go over to Moon Valley to look at and pick out my trees. Mark spent a lot of time with me at the nursery, walking back and forth several times to pick out the trees that were "just right" for my property. He was extremely patient and helpful in the process. The other project I had in mind was planting things to create a sound barrier from traffic noise. Mark was honest enough to tell me that while I could plant some things that would buffer the sound to a degree, no matter how much I planted, it would not accomplish what I was trying to do. I very much appreciated his honesty, because I could have/would have spent a lot of money trying to do what I had in mind. Bryan, the manager of Moon Valley, was also terrific to deal with. He greeted me and spoke to me as though I was a long-time valued customer (even though this was my first time at the nursery). My whole experience with Moon Valley Nurseries at 7375 Tule Springs Road has been an excellent one and I will definitely be using them again for any future needs or projects. I went here to buy soil and vegetable plants and roses. They didn't have any roses. I asked the manager Judy a question about hot pepper plants. Judy said she does not know anything about plants and she's just the manager. Judy never got somebody else to help me who did know something. I had no guidance on buying the plants. I asked Judy where the rose bushes were. Judy said "Over there". Judy never walked me to where "Over there" was. So when I walked "Over there", I did not see any rose bushes. I then walked back and told Judy I needed to buy soil for my vegetables I'm buying. Judy sold me tree soil for vegetable plants. The vegetable plants died. This location needs more qualified employees and managers. How can you hire a manager that knows nothing about plants? That's weird. It should be mandatory that the manager knows about plants. It wouldn't be hard for Judy to read a few articles to educate herself about horticulture. The Mexican non-english speaking plant waterer guy was trying to help me find the plant I wantes, but I didn't understand him. But at least he tried. Judy didn't even bother getting another employee who does know. It's a shame the employees and managers act this way because I know the owner would be unhappy if he knew his managers and employees treated customers bad. Judy probably didn't want to help me with the sale because I just bought a few plants and soil and I'm not a commercial account. She should treat all customers the same, big spender or little spender. It all adds up. read more

Moon Valley Nursery at Tule Springs Shawn is the best!! He helped us find the perfect trees that would fit in our small yard. He found us 3 trees that were perfect for the areas in my yard and fit my budget. He made picking out trees fun and easy. We drove around the property looking at what would be best and what I liked. Omar and his team came out and took out several trees in no time at all. Omar and his guys were so nice, they did a great job and were very professional. I would recommend them. Luis and his guys planted my new trees and they were awesome! They helped me make sure I was happy with how they looked and made sure they faced the right way. They were all so nice and helpful. We purchased 2 trees from Moon Valley Tule Springs about 2 years ago and planned with their designer (who is no longer there) the type of trees because they were directly by a pool. Well, not last fall, but this fall all of a sudden the trees produced flowers/pollen and trashed our pool daily for 3 months. We contacted Mark and Don at Moon Valley, explained the situation. They completely took care of us! Even though it had been 2 years since the trees were planted - the understood the situation and did the right thing. Actually, they went above and beyond the right thing. We followed up and met with Gus who directed us to proper trees to be placed by a pool. Moon Valley did not start us off with baby trees - they are replacing the trees with mature trees to match the change in landscaping that has occurred the past 2 years. I highly recommend doing business with Moon Valley Tule Springs - Mark, Don and Gus were very professional and helpful! So, my husband and I needed to look at some trees for the backyard to help shade the yard for our 3 dogs and Gigi greeted us immediately upon our arrival at Moon Valley Nursery on Tule Springs Rd, north of town. I wasn't sure if we were going to purchase any trees that day but the quality of trees and Gigi's expert knowledge on all the trees and plants made it an easy choice to purchase a stellar package deal!!! Gigi was so smart about products and services and never rushed us along. Gigi even drove myself and my husband around in the Kubota to look at fruit trees on a further end of the property. It was a Sunday around 430p when we arrived and the store closed at 5p that day, but still, Gigi offered us cold waters and excellent customer service on that hot, over 100-degree day and stayed beyond closing with Ben and my husband and myself and we left happy customers close to 6 pm with a delivery all planned out for our backyard remodel. I know I will be back looking to plant more for a fuller lush landscape and I will be looking for Gigi every time! read more

I love Moon Valley Nursery. I have one near my house which makes it convenient when sourcing plants for my gardening projects. I also have a Home Depot and Lowe's near by but when I want more than just lilies and petunias I venture to MVN. They have a large array of trees, bushes and flowering plants laid out on a several acres you can freely walk through. I have bought two trees for my home and they're healthy and growing strong, a testament to the quality of their selection. The staff is always courteous and more knowledgeable about plant life than I could ever care to be because I'm THAT customer ready with loads of obscure questions. How deep and in what pattern do the roots grow and how often should I fertilize these bushes? On my last purchase I found a lovely snail had hitched a ride on the bucket from my new buy. I consider this a welcome bonus to be gifted a little wild life for my garden. Give Moon Valley Nursery a visit, you won't be disappointed. read more

I was really impressed with the Moon Valley teams that completed work in our yard. The first team came in and removed all of our shrubs and bushes. I found them to be very friendly and they provided me with helpful information about the project. The second team came in to plant, and was led by Luis Villa (Rancho). They were very careful not to hit existing water/sewer lines and included me in the decision process. This team was also very friendly and encouraged me when I asked about taking pictures. I was very impressed with their professionalism and ability to get everything planted quickly without any issues. The final team came in and completed the water sprinkler installation. They also were friendly and helped me to understand how the project will be finished. I went to Moon Valley Nursery to look into planting two full size trees in my backyard to provide needed shade for the Western exposure there. I met with Ramsey, who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about which type of tree would be best for my purposes. We selected the trees, made arrangements to have it delivered and planted. Cody and his crew came out and were excellent, professional, and very knowledgeable and were instrumental in helping with setting up an ignored irrigation system that was left because the house was a bank-owned house when I bought it. Cody went above and beyond to take the time to help me figure out some problems that were left behind by other bad workmanship and together we managed to get it all together and everything looks great! It was my birthday and my husband ask me what I wanted. We bought our home and there was no landscaping, no trees etc. So I said a nice big Tree! I wanted a Raywood Ash Tree because we had one at another home. It was beautiful. I called Moon Valley Nursery and spoke with GiGi. Told her what I would like and that it was a birthday gift. My husband and I couldn't go to select the tree because of his job, so Gigi suggested she could send me pictures of different Raywood AshTrees. I received the pictures and we picked out a beautiful tree. I then asked if they could deliver it on Sat. It was Wednesday when I called in. GiGi arranged it so we were the first delivery on Sat. morning. What a wonderful gift and GiGi was the best!! With all of her help she made it happen for me. We went to Moon Valley Nursery to look for a shade tree with changing colors with the seasons. Manager, Judy Wandtke showed us one that would perfectly fit our wishes a Chinese Pistach "red Push" tree. She guided us through the purchasing, tree removal of our existing tree and the delivery process. The tree removal crew arrived on date expected and Oscar and Omar were fantastic along with the rest of the crew. They were attentive to detail and the area was very clean when finished. The new tree planting crew headed up by Ed Scheimer were also great! The entire planting went like perfect clock work and taking things to perfection with making sure the tree was "standing straight" while staking it. Once again area very clean at end of planting. We had an awesome experience at the Moon Valley Nurseries in Tule Springs, and a big part of that was thanks to Houghton Peterson. He spent nearly two full hours with us walking the lot, showing us different plants, trees, and helping us figure out what would work best for our space and budget. What really stood out was his patience and attitude. When we decided to cut a tree from our plan to stay within budget (which I'm sure would annoy some salespeople), Houghton didn't give us any grief at all. He totally understood, didn't pressure us, and continued to be super helpful and professional the entire time. Love this place! Such a variety of trees and plants, and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Josh was very patient with us as we made some last minute changes to our order. He drove us around the site until we found the perfect tree :) Thank you Josh! Dalton Caia and his crew were outstanding! They had the task of planting 5 semi-mature trees on an uphill grade. They were incredibly patient as my husband changed his mind several times how he wanted the trees to face, and ultimately we went with their recommendations (which were spot on!). They also placed our 25 additional plants where we were going to plant them. GREAT crew that worked well together and we are more than satisfied with the finished product!
