Service is horendous and communication is worse. My HOA bought 7 trees in February. When the crew arrived to plant them there were 6. It took several phone calls and 2 trips to the store to get our 7th tree. Four months later 2 of them were struggling. I called 3 times and went to the store once to get someone to come out and look at the trees. They are now dead and need to be replaced. We have a warranty on them so we just need to get the same trees. Again it took several calls and a trip to the store to get someone to schedule delivery. On the day they were supposed to come they had a big job that they would get paid for (rather than our free one) so they just didn't show up and didn't even call. They promised they would come the following day but didn't see any dead trees at the unit numbers we gave them so they left. They sent pictures of the 2 units they were looking at and I knew right away that they were in the wrong development. When I told them this on Saturday they said they would get the trees in for sure next week. It is now Thursday afternoon and I still have not heard from them. read more

Perfect experience, top to bottom. Nick at the nursery was unbelievably helpful in helping us with 3 fruit trees that we were looking for. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable. On the day of the plant, Cesar and his team were also absolutely awesome. They found a broken irrigation hose where one of the trees was going to be planted and promptly fixed it for me. His watering instructions were thorough and easy to follow, and his team, and himself, were professional and super efficient. All in all, a true A+ experience. I'm hesitant to use chains, but I could not be happier with how everything turned out. It was a total disaster! They spent much of the time telling me this isn't how they do business, but they continued to disappoint. They had my money for 2 months. It took weeks to get a correct invoice, which was incorrect. The lack of follow thru and courtesy was completely absent. After doing some homework that is not uncommon. I went into the Mesa Moon Valley Nursery yesterday hoping for a miracle. I'm not kidding. You see, having moved to AZ in the past couple years, we have lost a mature lemon tree and were on the verge of losing our orange tree as well. (I seriously blamed my husband for overwatering our lemon tree to death and I physically counted 25 oranges on our orange tree this year. Yeah, I love our citrus trees) I was pleasantly greeted by Ryan and quickly told him I was on the verge of tears over this tree loss. He said, " Don't fret, I gotcha and I'll do my best to help you." I showed him photos and he told me the tree was salvageable. He explained how the Moon Juice works and then took me on a tour of the nursery to educate me on a few new citrus trees we'd like to purchase. He was very knowledgeable! I purchased the Moon Juice and was on my way. My husband applied the Moon Juice last night as directed. Our tree was RESURRECTED...OVERNIGHT! Weeks ago, we paid for and ordered two agave and a laurel to be delivered and planted. The day came, but they never arrived within the service appointment window. Initially, it was 11 - 1 PM, but then turned into 3 PM, 4 PM, 5 PM, 6 PM... Each time I called, they would apologize and say 30 minutes, but that would turn into 60 minutes. I have had to sacrifice my entire day and work schedule to wait nearly 7 hours for a delivery that still hasn't arrived. Their only response was to apologize and offer complimentary moon juice. This delay cost me time and money and made the entire ordeal frustrating and stressful. Moon Valley Nursery doesn't seem to value customer satisfaction or our time. Unless you want a miserable experience, I would highly recommend giving a different nursery your business. read more

Will Honohan. That's the name you need to know if you need help planning which plants to put in your yard. Will is a landscape designer, and he will ask what type of aesthetic you want for your yard or any other pertinent details. Will is very well-versed on all aspects of the plants and trees and can tell you what Moon Valley has done to grow the most resilient varieties. We ended up with a nice-looking backyard. Will suggested hibiscus bushes and trees since we have a desert tortoise, and I love it. It's a plant that would never have been on my radar. He also stressed Moon Valley's pride in their customer service and I've seen it in action. We had a small issue with some leaning trees, and Tara Stein was quick to send some guys out to fix them. I believe our two foreman's names were Jake and Nate. Both guys informed us of their arrival times and were great to deal with. Selection is fine, people are nice but the prices are absolutely offensive. Go to Whitfills Nursery instead and get bigger plants and way better prices. We have compared prices many times thinking Moon Valley would be competitive and they never are. For example they had tiny Myrtle shrubs in big planters for $250 each. Whitfills had triple the size plants in small $30 planters. $30!!!! And we needed 50 so imagine buying 50, $250 tiny plants at Moon Valley? It's wild. And the 50 we got at Whitfills are happy and healthy all planted. We finally stopped trying with Moon Valley. Their markups are insane of their plants and trees even with their massive price cuts, it's way more than you'd pay at Whitfills. They are all commissioned too at Moon Valley so makes sense. Never going back and we've wasted thousands over the years. read more

I'll start off by saying I enjoy Moon Nursery, hence 4 stars. Quality plants and friendly knowledgeable staff. I have made multiple purchases over the past 3 years, spending over 10k approximately. That may seem minimal to many, but they are a pricey corporation. One purchase I made was for an Ocotillo @ $600. The photos I'm posting are of that ocotillo going into year #3. I was told how to care for it and to be patient as it needs time. Okay, got it. Well, not one leaf has shown up during this time. I'm hesitant to call Moon, because my last call was met with "be patient". $600 for a dead plant in my view is a little pricey. Could have bought the same size at Home Depot for $75. Moon guarantees are pricey additions to the original cost, and that still doesn't mean there isn't a hidden clause as to what your plant warranty covers. Frustrating is how I'm viewing this plant from my window. read more

Moon Valley removed the stumps of our 35 year old trees and replaced them with two crape myrtles. The plan, dates and work was well coordinated & communicated. Don't like it? Fine, pick something else, and they'll put you in the schedule!Blistering sun damage? Noooo problem, they have very reasonable warranties to fit any budget. The best policy is where something happens to your say huge tree, they will replace AND upgrade to a giant tree! My experience with the professionals at Moon Valley was fantastic! Travis Roberts helped me to select the perfect trees for both my front and backyards, was extremely knowledgeable, and very patient with answering all of my questions. He travelled from a different store location a couple of times to meet with me to discuss the sizes and other considerations to give for the trees that I selected. He was "not" high pressure at all, which was so helpful as I probably would have felt rushed and not gotten the trees that were perfect for my home if he had been. He also was so kind as to update my order as I changed my mind and wanted to swap out one of the trees for a different variety, and add another tree a couple of days after we'd already finished the paperwork though prior to delivery. The delivery crew were professional and knowledgeable as well, and although I had already staked where I wanted the trees, Cesar Jimenez, the Planting Crew Manager walked me through each of the 14 trees I purchased to make sure that I was happy with the placement and direction while advising me on privacy matters, esthetics, and insurance related considerations. Cesar and his crew went above and beyond my expectations by adding a couple more trees at the last minute to fill in spaces that I wanted filled. We ordered a Queen Palm , 2 Blue Agaves, and two Cacti from the Mesa location. They came and planted everything in mid-July, and left us with watering instructions which we've followed closely. It's not even been a month with these items and the Queen Palm is littered with brown, dead fronds and both Blue Agaves are burned up and dying ad well. The cacti are going strong though! My partner who bought the foliage, John Smith has reached out to the Mesa location TWICE via email with pictures of the dead and dying items and he has never received a response. We are frustrated. For the price we've paid for all these items, including insurance, and they basically don't care. What a rip-off this company is. And here we are, stuck with dead foliage that we never expected. And they will do nothing about. I suggest someone look in your database and call John immediately and tell him what you plan to do for us. If nothing, come rip everything out, refund us, remove your defective shit from our property and we will go elsewhere. What a poor company. We bought 3 bushes that were not doing well in the heat. We also bought the extended warrenty. I called Moon and they were able to come up with a solution and replaced all 3. Cesar and his crew came out and replaced the 3 bushes in over 110% heat. Cesar then looked at our other trees we had and gave us tips to help them grow and thrive. We lost a beautiful, 20 year old mesquite tree in our front yard to high winds. Going to Moon Valley Nurseries in Mesa was a no-brainer. We had purchased several plants and two trees over the years- Cesar and his crew did an excellent job moving a big giant tree into place after digging the hole and prepping the soil. The team made sure that the soil was amended as the tree staked in four corners. They finished with an application of Moon Juice supplement and mulch around the top.
