Moon Valley Nurseries Peoria has really treated me well. Their arborist, Steve, picked out over 7 trees as replacements for my pines that were dying. I have had several foremen who were very good including Jeff Lowe in charge of planting. I have worked with Austin and Ryan at Peoria. Each listens to concerns, and they are always willing to help. Recently they sent Jeff's crew out because a tree needed more support. The tree was taken care of beautifully and the tree looks great. The crews always clean up and work quickly. Thank you the team that helped us pick out the right package. We even needed to make some adjustments and they worked with us on the total value. We needed up getting additional smaller bushes and trees vs a huge one and it really filled out the space. Scottie and his crew came to plant earlier than we expected and did an amazing job. They helped educate us a little and cleaned up after. They were great to work with. The only hiccup we had was for tree removal. Not sure where the communications got lost but we still have one tree to be removed and the new one planted but it is scheduled to be completed soon. Yet another update: I just listened to a voicemail I received today from the original salesman we bought the 21 giant focus from, Bryce. He was going through our paperwork and just wanted to let me know that the 2-3 ficus deemed replaceable by Moon Valley by the arborist who visited our property would now need to be paid for by me. Seriously? It was just a few weeks ago that I spoke to said arborist (and evidently their main customer service person (as he told me)) and told him I think those trees are going to make it and don't bother replacing them. I guess Bryce just needed to let us know that the trees are no longer under warranty. I'm sure he's just following standard procedures. Anyhow, I started this review at 2 stars and moved it up to 3 after a call from the arborist/customer service professional. After this, I'm dropping to a solid 1-star. Any potential Moon Valley customers interested are welcome to DM me for more information and other nursery recommendations. I've already done business with two others and have great results so far. read more

Update: I've gotten all the bushes and tree planted and you can see they look great! Moon Valley Nurseries continues to deliver. The selections of plants offered were great and the cost was appropriate for our budget. Working with Cole was fantastic and he really nailed the plants we should put in. I've gone back several times now and he is always available to answer my questions and provide recommendations on how to care for the plants along with easy to follow care instructions. On the expected day they called to say they were coming, arrived five minutes early, removed our old, dying tree, and planted the new one without a hitch. Ok I had to upgrade to a 5 bc these guys are REALLY knocking my socks off. I went to pick out a Pygmy palm I had specifically selected and sadly it had gotten lost. But after doing a pretty thorough search the manager Troy helped me pick out a really good comparable one and comped me some moon juice to mitigate my sadness over not getting to take the original Carmelita home. (Yes everyone should name their plants like I do they are living beings that deserve to be treated as such.) Anyway I called back today asking for Troy bc I was a little nervous about the (now I know it's) shock a couple of my new plant family members were experiencing. Eric was fantastic and affable and made me feel empowered with the information he shared ****** Update to update. Clearly I'm moving up the food chain and learning a lot about the interesting ecosystem that is Moon Valley. To clarify, there are a number of people there who really care about plants and customer satisfaction and success. I'm now working with Brad who is a great communicator and naturally passionate about plants. He is clearly a born teacher and leader. Too bad I didn't encounter someone like him when I had my first Moon Valley experience in Surprise! Because I initially enlisted some non nursery help with my plants there have been some mishaps. Moon Valley has been generous with their support and things are close to being "dialed in." My husband and I met with Austin at Moon Valley (Pinnacle Peak location) to pick out a new tree for our backyard. Austin was fantastic! Professional, he knew his stuff and answered all my questions, and a side note, he's extremely funny! We chose a gorgeous ficus tree! I had been waiting patiently for the tree to be delivered, and today was the day! Scott Miniear, who was the crew manager called me and they pulled up within 15 minutes. He introduced me to his crew and they went to work! These guys worked their butts off! They were no joke! They were quick, had attention to detail, and did an outstanding job planting our new tree! I was so amazed how these guys can match the box to the hole they dig because it was a perfect fit once they slid the tree into the ground! They cleaned up everything, and two of the crew members made a nice water well and even went over and beyond to get down on their hands and knees and brought the rock right up to the well and made it look beautiful! I can't say enough about these guys!! I'm SO HAPPY with our new tree and the service we received from this crew and crew manager! A++++ across the board!!! Late last year, I needed a number of trees to update my yard and he set me up with some terrific Ficus trees, a very nice quality True Green elm and some queen palms to boot. I also need to mention, the installation crew was a beast of a team and planted these trees with care and speed. The trees are growing strong and looking amazing.
