Shelbi is a miracle worker! So I started my wedding dress search at a regular bridal salon and tried on quite a few dresses. However, due to the vintage theme and my specific and apparently unusual tastes, I had no luck. I wanted a dress with a fitted bodice, flowy comfortable skirt and flutter sleeves. I was hoping to find something that fit these parameters and had a vintage flair. After doing a ton of research, I came across Moonlight and Moss. I totally thought a custom dress would be out of my budget, but when I talked to Shelbi, I realized that a dress off the rack plus alterations would be about the same price as a custom gown! Amazing! So I met with her and brought a simple drawing of the dress I envisioned. She was so receptive and immediately found me 3-5 options of vintage-style lace for the bodice. Shortly after our meeting she also sent me her fashion magazine drawing of the dress and I knew she knew what I had in mind! We had maybe 5-7 meetings in the next 4-5 months, with a mock-up and tweaking and making sure that the dress fit exactly perfect and had all the little details right. I ended up with the dress of my dreams and it fit me like a glove! The final product was a dress with a fitted v-neck bodice covered in art deco lace, flutter sleeves that continued along the back line of the bodice, a gorgeous multi-layered chiffon skirt and a super convenient and subtle bustle. And a huge bonus, I made my own veil and Shelbi was so so helpful in helping me find the right kind of tulle and lace! Booked an appointment over the phone for a bridesmaid dress. All the places in Austin had a longer turn around time and honestly some reviews scared me. This place had good reviews so I took a chance. I was able to go in the following week and was told the dress would be ready in 4 weeks. I kind of thought that was really long considering I was only getting the bottom shortened. But since I was not in a rush it was okay. The lady that helped me was friendly and assisted me when I had to rebook to pick up the dress. Price was also fair so if I have another alteration I probably will be back! read more

I fell in love with my dress and bought it early on in my engagement, then 3 months later I found out I was pregnant! By my wedding day I was almost 6 months along so you can imagine some work had to be done to the dress. Shelbi did such a good job with my dress for a Mardi Gras ball. She consulted with me over messages here on yelp and then came over to my house and co silted with me. She was so sweet and got the changes finished so quickly! It wasn't a huge change (lengthen and re-angled the dress straps) but it absolutely made the dress perfect and she only charged $20! Shelbi custom designed, created, sewed and tailored my wedding dress to beyond perfection. On top of having extremely high expectations and standards, I threw in the extra hiccup of being pregnant and growing between every appointment. We started my dress when I was hardly showing at 3 months along and I walked down the aisle 7.5 months pregnant with a dress that fit my every curve and was truly made just for me. The process was absolutely delightful, including Shelbi coming to my home evenings and weekends, if needed, bringing all the fabric and lace options to me, and always being available for when I made slight changes or went crazy.
