I made it back for trivia night! We had an AWESOME time!…read more The two bartenders were so attentive and friendly for the entirety of the night, we were never in need of anything. The mule is definitely my favorite drink here, it's been made perfectly each time I had it. We had a big group, so we ordered a variety of bar bites and I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of all the food. Especially the garlic bread, wow!!! It was piping hot, fresh and fluffy and just perfect. The host for trivia did a fantastic job and created a super fun event for us. The questions were general-knowledge enough that mostly anyone could have participated. Somehow our team won and the prizes were so fun!! More people need to know about this place!!

I used to go down the street, but the music selection there changed. For those of you frequent to Southington, Spelunkers took over the old Dial 9 speakeasy location. It's a competitive food area and I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that for being marketed as strictly a dive bar, Spelunkers hit all the marks and some. It also was surprisingly large inside compared to what it looked like from the outside (Which was great because some of the other bars nearby are cramped). Their burgers were good and my friends felt the same way about the food that they ordered as wll. They have ample seating (and a variety of it) as well as a pool table and some arcade games to do while listening to music. Prices for drinks were also fair. The interaction that I had with staff, although brief was very friendly. The band they had that night was excellent. Glad I came to see them. They played an eclectic mix of both genres and decades. They were energetic, their song choice were great and they were refreshing to see compared to the typical Southington fare. If they come back to Spelunkers, I'll free my schedule up to come and see. Been watching the socials . Happy to have a fun bar experience again around here and look forward to my next trip.

After being dragged here once we've returned two more times and just enjoy the pure mayhem of it all. Irish-American folks and wannabees all running amok. The real acid-test of this bar was the fact that staff as well as customers are friendly and fun-loving unconditionally. Our first go-around was in the company of a local celebrity -- the drinks came fast and kept coming. Several customers ambled over to meet & greet our friend. Next visit we went without him and yet found the service swift and the atmosphere quite friendly. One in our party became rather obviously drunk -- and but for being shut-off he was not made to feel uncomfortable nor were we. Mind you, our crew is usually very well-behaved. But, hey, this place brings out the lush in all of us, I guess. On a recent afternoon we discovered there was some kind of food, roast beef with potatoes and gravy, I think. It smelled awesome but we were here for the booze. Cheerful, efficient bar staff kept 'em coming. Our visits were all week-end afternoons, so can't comment on the night life. Irish bands are featured.

This isn't a hip trendy spot like some of the other "Irish" bars, it's a nice stop on the way home from work or on the weekends. The outside seating is comfortable and relaxing. Great staff is attentive and doesn't rush you along if you have a question.

Finally tried Belvedere yesterday. I originally tasted their food not too long ago at my friend's…read moreuncles funeral. They catered the food afterward. Met Ela, the owner... Who is fabulous! I tried the beef tripe soup, the Hungarian goulash and ice cream for dessert. The soup was out of this world, I loved it! The goulash, which was put on a small pizza, sized potato pancake, was also delicious! I'm definitely going back to The Belvedere, cuz it was worth every penny... Which in fact was reasonably priced for the portion. I highly recommend The Belvedere, and think you will be very happy & satisfied if you go there.

Belvedere was the best reviewed but we found the total experience disappointing despite some bright spots. First off, Little Poland has a reputation for food not warm, chatty service. Even with a reservation, the Belvedere staff seemed unprepared and almost disappointed we showed for our late reservation. We waited an inordinate amount of time for a larger table to fit us was cleared, without anyone taking a drink order or doing much of anything. Drinks were small and watery. Things perked up with the best borscht we've tasted, although it's served warm not the traditional cold. The Caesar salad was huge and tasty but not sure why it's on a polish menu. The pierogis were just ordinary; light on filings and served with absolutely nothing else; they were also lukewarm. The Galumpki was more generous and tasty but the potato pancake with goulash was a complete miss. The pancake while large was over fried and acrid at the edges and you were hard pressed to find a decent chunk of beef or piece of carrot in the meager drizzle of goulash on top. $26.95 for this? The atmosphere was a bit sterile and didn't have that old world feel we were looking for; Miami vice and 80's music videos on the bar TV didn't help. We can't really recommend this spot to others.
