We went for summer restaurant week 2026. Before booking a table, I have researched all different restaurants' menus and reviews. Moono got a positive review on the portion and varieties. Yes, we were so full and even packed whatever unfinished. The most exciting thing for me is Pyongyang cold noodle. I live in queens and easily try this type of Korean cold noodles, but Moono has very refreshing beef broth, not sour at all and handmade buckwheat noodles. It is definitely the dish I'd go back for. For restaurant week menu, dessert is probably the weak part but I am not a big fan for sweets. For me, overall it yields a big bang for the bucks. Strongly recommended!!

Solid Korean spot with a calm, dim interior. We made res for restaurant week as a group of 6, which allowed us to try a little of everything on their menu. What I got: - Asparagus Japchae: Very good - instead of traditional Japchae noodles, it's sliced asparagus and mushroom. The marinate was delish! - Shrimp Pancake: It was more like an omelette. Not so much of the actual pancake batter. - Spicy Fried Chicken: Nicely fried, standard. The spicy sauce is on the side, which allows us to adjust our bite. - Bossam: I enjoyed this! More Bossam pieces than lettuce, but overall taste of the meat was good. It didn't have the "bland pork" taste. - Pyongyang Cold Noodle: This was my first time having this dish. Seemed pretty traditional. The broth was on the lighter end for me. - Korean Melon: LOVEDD this dessert! A refreshing way to end the meal. The menu denotes cheese, but it wasn't even noticeable. It has a few toasted pine nuts mixed in, which were SOO good. Overall, a very filling meal and worth the $60 restaurant week value! Nothing absolutely blew me away, BUT the flavors were solid and the staff were great. Would come back for another deal!

Summer Restaurant Week 2026- Yukhoe. Always excellent

Short Review- Outstanding Restaurant Week Menu. Get the Hoe Muchim, Yukhoe, Gangjeong, Galbi-Jjim, and if you want to be very full, the Pyongyang Cold Noodle. I went back to this Korean spot with a group for their $60 Summer Restaurant Week menu, which I'll abbreviate as RW from now on. I was not expecting the biggest portions as the menu is a bit pricey, but I was surprised in a good way. Compared to the regular menu, this is a fantastic deal, being both high quality and with large portions. You can see the previous review regarding the nice space, which is from a converted library. The only distinction this time was that they were much more crowded. The server was friendly, though he did rather haphazardly drop off all of the appetizers instead of giving them to the specific people who ordered them, leading to a bit of confusion. To drink, I shared a bottle of 24% Soju Dokdo, which another person had ordered at the bar prior to me arriving during happy hour. As per the other time before we got the other courses, they gave us some kimchi as well as a cold soup as an amuse bouche. The soup consisted of cucumber, tomato agar jelly, basil oil, and Korean pear. The soup is refreshing, cold, slightly herbal, and a little bit sweet, and worked perfectly to whet our appetite. The RW menu that followed consisted first of one choice each from three different options: vegetable, sea, and meat. Afterwards, there was a choice of main and a side dish, and then dessert. From the appetizers, my vegetable choice was the Lotus Root Gangjeong/연근강정, a pair of fried lotus root slices with a mild sweetness, presumably from rice syrup/물엿. The lotus root had a light fry, with a mild crunch, but it was the most basic of the dishes. Other people enjoyed the Asparagus Japchae/아스파라거스잡재 and the Acorn Jelly/도토리묵. I tried the latter, and it was refreshing and tasty with an interesting mix of textures. Compared to the other appetizers, this was also the only course without a supplement, which makes sense since it was vegetables. From the sea section, I ordered a dish I got last time, the Hoe Muchim/회무침, listed on the menu as seasonal fish, gochujang, and soybean powder, which all came with kim/seaweed for DIY handrolls. The dish is normally $24, and of course, the portion was slightly smaller, but it was still sizable. As this was the case with the other dishes, I won't mention that again. The fish in this case was raw salmon, which was buttery, and paired with the crunchy vegetables, the sweet/spicy/mildly fermented gochujang, and the nutty soybean powder. Another person enjoyed the Shrimp Pancakes/새우전, saying that there was plenty of shrimp inside, and no one ordered the $5 extra Abalone Salad/전복냉채. Finally, for meat, I went with the Yukhoe/육회, the Korean version of beef tartare with Korean pear and egg yolk, which is normally $28. The meat was tender with a mild fragrance from sesame oil and a bit of sweetness from the paired, well, pear. No one got the Spicy Fried Chicken/닭튀김, while someone else splurged and loved the $5 extra Beef Cheek Suyuk/소뽈살수육. For my main dish, as with a few others as per my recommendation, I went with the $10 extra Galbi-Jjim/갈비찜. Normally $52, this had soy-braised prime beef, Pyogo mushrooms, some potatoes, and some tteok. The short ribs were very tender, with some fat that was flavorful without being too chewy. The broth wasn't as sweet as some other places, with a delightful little bit of spiciness. This was outstanding, just like last time. Others enjoyed the Bossam/보쌈 and the Squid Stir Fry /오징어볶음, with no one getting the Tofu Mushroom Hot Pot/두부버섯전골. As a side, my choice was the Mushroom Sotbap/버섯솥밥, which is $10 extra, but shared between two people. Normally for $38, this had golden queen rice, mushrooms, foie gras, and a beef broth, and just like during normal service, they present the full pot before dividing it up. The rice had a strong umami with a bit of crunch from the scorched part, and was delicious like last time. Another person liked the Seasonal Vegetable Bibimbap/산채비빔밥, and one other had the portion of Pyongyang Cold Noodle/평양냉면, with the broth poured at the table. The portion was noticeably gigantic compared to every other dish, and the bit of broth I tried was delicious. For dessert, there were two choices. I got the Korean Melon/참외 with coconut and manchego cheese. The dish was well composed, with a granita/ice made from melon, some coconut sorbet on the bottom, and a very mild cheesy flavor. It was refreshing. A few had the Burdock/우엉 with burdock ice cream, chocolate mousse, and burdock chips. They found it mildly bitter with a bit of nuttiness, and one person liked it, and the other did not. I tried a bit, and I thought it was decent, but I preferred my dessert. This was again a very good meal. I wish I had better photos, but we all loved our time here.

Food, service, and ambiance were all amazing. We came here on a Thursday night with a reservation. The restaurant's interior is beautiful and has a modern church-like feel, making it a unique dining experience. The service was attentive throughout the meal. They offer a tasting menu, but we opted for a la carte so we could try a wider variety of dishes. The complimentary cold broth served to cleanse our palates was a thoughtful touch. The fried chicken wing was cooked perfectly with an incredibly crispy exterior. The uni sotbap was delicious, packed with rich umami flavors in every bite. The bossam was solid, tender pork belly served with fresh lettuce wraps. The cold noodles were refreshing, and I especially enjoyed the light, flavorful chicken broth. The galbi was tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. Overall, every dish was delicious, and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in town.

The food at Moono was excellent, and the overall vibe was beautiful. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. There were just a couple of things that kept this from being a full 5 stars. My 5 year old was required to order an entrée. We were planning to order one anyway, but I still found it a bit unusual. I also requested a birthday candle with dessert for our celebration when I made a reservation, but unfortunately the request wasn't acknowledged. Despite those minor disappointments, we had a wonderful experience. The food and service really stood out, and I would definitely bring visiting friends and family here. I'd happily return again 4.5/5.

Went during restaurant week with 3 people. We were able to try a lot of the options. The food was really good and had a nice variety of things. The service was nice. The inside of the restaurant was very interesting. One of the best things was the galbi jim it was a upcharge. If you want the mushroom rice it counts towards two people's side but it wasnt that big which didnt make sense and what happens if only one person wants it or goes alone. Not a fan of having to force to people to get an item to share. The dessert was ok and not a fan of the drink pairing with the food.

Have you ever had a meal and you never wanted it to end? That was me for this meal. I would come back here in a heart beat and when I do, I can't wait to try the other items on the menu!!! Galbi-jjim and mushroom sotbap is literally a match made in heaven. The galbi-jjim was perfectly tender like I could literally pull it apart with my chopstick. The addition of the rice cake, pumpkin, and pyogo mushroom were a nice touch. The soy sauce base was a little sweet and if you take a bit and pour it over the mushroom sotbap, it is soooooooo good!!!!!!! The mushroom sotbap is so umami. There is foie gras in it which maybe be in a little overpowering for some people but I really enjoyed it I could easily eat a whole bowl of their freshly made kimchi. It was perfect. Not too salty or spicy or fermented. Literally perfect!!! I actually asked for seconds. The cold cucumber broth was really refreshing Highly, highly recommend making a resy!! Deff a classy establishment

I came here for my birthday celebration recently and had a good time! The interior of Moono is stunning and spacious as it was once an old cathedral. There's a main dining room and a mezzanine. I sat at the mezz and got an amazing view of the main dining room. Service here is amazing. The only thing that I thought was a bit of a shame is that there's a $10 cake cutting service PER PERSON, if you wanted to celebrate a birthday. We got their fried chicken, beef tartare, 2 galbi jjim, and their bossam. Everything was phenomenal. While I think we could've skipped the chicken, the galbi jjim is a must-try. Cocktails are also great here. Amazing dining experience, food, ambiance, service, and I highly recommend.

It is currently my top spot for Korean food. I am almost hesitant to post this review because it's already super busy. But the food, ambiance, and service were all immaculate. I just cant explain how good the food felt. The bonchon were so unique and the set meal was such a great deal. Will be back and definitely recommend whether you are near or far.

The most beautiful dining experience I have ever had! Seriously, can whoever designed the interior of Moono design my entire life? This restaurant absolutely took my breath away! It was like modern minimalism meets traditional Asian design. Everything from the dish-ware and cutlery to the bathroom was gorg. Onto the food! Moono is an upscale dining experience centered on Korean food. We got a few small bites to share. My favorites were the Hoe Muchim + Kim and the Mushroom Sotbap. The Hoe Muchim + Kim features seasonal fish, assorted vegetables, and gochujang and soybean powder to dip. You get to make your own ssam (wraps) with this beautiful spread! The fish was insanely fresh and my mind kept getting blown with each bite. The Mushroom Sotbap is a hot rice pot dish. It features golden queen rice, an array of different mushrooms, foie gras, and beef broth. Super decadent and comforting! I cannot wait to come back and make my way through their menu!

Made a reservation for a birthday dinner and we really enjoyed our meal! Before getting to the food, I wanted to comment on the ambiance and service. It's a perfect date night vibe that has a casual upscale vibe. We ordered the prix fixe menu, which honestly came with a lot of food. They provided complimentary kimchi and an egg in bone broth. For our appetizers, we had the spicy fried chicken and yukhoe (beef tartare). Both appetizers were fine, but nothing super memorable. The main meal came with 10 ban chan, soup of the day, and two main entrees. The ban chan tasted pretty mediocre, but loved the presentation and all the options! For our entrees we chose the grilled fish (mackerel) and galbi-jjim. The fish was cooked well, but very simple so probably would pass on this. The galbi was very delicious and worth paying an extra $10. For two people you can choose a sotbap, so we opted for the mushroom which was very tasty. Finally, for dessert we ordered the buldock and chestnut ice cream. Overall, I think this is a great place to celebrate a special occasion! Can't say it's the best Korean food I've had, but I think the ambiance and service add a special touch to the dining experience.

This is a lovely spot for a beautiful dinner. We made a reservation for dinner about a week in advance and chose to sit on the second level which is smaller and gives you a nice view out to the beautiful main dining room. I don't think you can go wrong with picking where to dine. When you arrive, the entrance is nondescript but walking in, I was immediately impressed by the decor. There's a bar to the side of the host stand, and all the bathrooms are located on the ground level. There's the choice of an elevator or stairs to get to the second level if you're dining there. We decided to do the three course dinner, and it was a generous amount of food considering you get an amuse bouche, rice, ten banchan dishes, and unlimited kimchi. Their kimchi was some of the best kimchi I have ever had (it's made fresh every day so it isn't fermented). We had a few servers helping us throughout the night and I'm glad they explained what all the banchan were. My favorites were the fried chicken appetizer (it wasn't too spicy), the kimchi, and the dessert. I also thought it was cute they served water in teapots (water was room temperature).

I walked in a few min early and still waited 15 min to be seated after res time and another 20 min for my order to be taken, so I really wanted to hate this place. Besides their initial service being incredibly slow, this place was phenomenal. Came for the restaurant week menu and I'm leaving with leftovers somehow. The soup with jellies to start was perfectly light and refreshing. Kimchi was delicious and I actually liked that it isn't as fermented tasting as normal kimchis. The lotus root is fried with a light glaze and is honestly so yummy and comforting because it's so hot. Shrimp pancakes were light and perfect with the sauce. The fried chicken was such a miss for me though, but maybe it's because I am never a huge fan of chicken on the bone. The sauce it came with was delicious though. I really should've just gotten the yukhoe instead. I fear half of the people I have on beli got the yuhoe and the other half got the fried chicken and raw beef still scares me a little, so I chose the chicken. Got the galbi-jjim and it was SO tender and flavorful. Cooked perfectly and so good just wow. Was gonna get the pyongyang cold noodle, but they ran out by 8:30 pm, so I got the vegetable bibimbap and it was also solid. The Burdock dessert was so good and I absolutely destroyed mine. It was not too sweet at all, slightly nutty, and the chocolate mousse with it was just perfect.

The menu was a joy to read and it was soon obvious that we weren't going to go wrong with anything we ordered! The Han dumplings are *chefs kiss* y'all need to order them for sure. For my main course I went with the LA galbi. I had a hard time eating the steak with my chopsticks so I ended up using my hands, (our waiter said that was normal, but he may have just been nice) because the flavor was so good I didn't want to leave any meat uneaten. Seriously some of the best flavors of my life!!! Though I'm still learning how to eat green things I bet the salad was amazing too!! The restaurants vibe was so much fun, we feel very grateful to have been able to eat at Her Name is Han and will recommend it to anyone who asks. 100/10 would recommend :)

Walked in, they flipped the cup and filled our water cups and then refilled our water after filling our cups. Very thoughtful. They also brought extra napkins after the dishes started coming out. Sides Zucchini taste like Chinese jellyfish . Pretty tasty The kimchi wasn't too strong in flavor but it was a pretty good flavor Fishcake tastes like aji ichiban. Sweet. Broccoli decent. Roasted garlic flavor Bossam was decent. Could be a bit more tender but has plenty of flavor. Wish it had bigger pieces of veggie and more. Can't even wrap the meat Spicy raw marinated crab Felt like it was hard to find the meat with all the sauce The sauce was very enjoyable , perfect amount of flavor, spice and sweetness Crabs did feel very fresh and sweet though Kimchi pancake was pretty decent in flavor and came with an egg on it but no sauce. It was lacking a bit of umph which I believe could've been achieved with a sweet and salty sauce/dip Seafood stew felt very light in a good way even with its spice. The flavor is good and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients I wish the egg which was in the stew was a bit more runny in the stew. I added the egg from the kimchi pancake into the stew and it vastly improved the dish. Portion size of the pancake and bossam felt pretty small though Corn bingsu Pretty decent. It's about a 1 person serving or 2 if everyone is pretty full The also layered it so that it wasn't only flavoring on the top. Even the bingsu ice part was sweet. The corn flakes were very crispy and the corn cream was good almost milky like white chocolate . Very refreshing after the meal The food was decent overall but did not really feel justified for it's price. The price felt very high for what I felt it was worth.

The staff seemed very well trained and service was great. The grilled galbi, truffle potato pancake and noodles were all very good. The cucumber pickles were way too salty for me and the budae jjigae was pretty average. Overall, a good experience but I left feeling like modern Korean dining can be pushed much further than this.

Five senses has been around forever and is still a solid staple in k-town! Stopped by on a Friday…read moreevening around 8 and there was no line for two so we were seated quickly. They have a variety of the standard fare Korean options at reasonable prices. We tried the ddukbokki and bulgolgi dupbap which were both good. The portion sizes were on the bigger size and the ddukbokki were giant. I do wish the ddukbokki was a little less watery but overall tasted fine. The bulgolgi was pretty standard for what I'd expect. Overall a solid option in the area if you don't want to wait for a long queue outside of the other popular spots.

Seafood Pancake: Great pick. Crispy on the outside and packed with seafood inside. Beef Belly & Mala Cream Noodle Soup: Loved this one. Udon with tender beef and baby octopus... so good!!! Spicy Braised Pork Rib Stew: Rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The highlight for me was the raw marinated crab. I spotted it on the wall menu and immediately had to order it. It's rare to find in the city! And honestly, this was way better than BCD's. So flavorful. Only complaint... the banchan portions are small and not a lot of variety. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and I'd definitely recommend this spot.

It's extremely crispy and very high quality. A large issue I had at this establishment was the service. The server felt unfriendly, and whenever we tried to flag him down, he wouldn't even look at us. It took around 20 minutes after our meal to get our check which was ridiculous. It was a shame because this was easily one of my favorite meals in NYC, but I don't know if I would return solely due to the service.

We ordered marbled beef steak and naengmyeon, hoping for a speedy meal. Surprisingly, the beef, cold noodles and banchan all blew us away. The marbled beef was outstanding, and our server grilled it perfectly -- it melted in our mouth. Their mushroom sauce was absolutely fantastic. The broth for the buckwheat cold naengmyeon was authentic beef stock, rich and savory without overpowering the natural flavor of the ingredients. The banchan were also incredibly well-made; we finished nearly every side dish on the table. Service was quick and efficient too. It's such a shame we only discovered this restaurant on our final day, we wish we'd come here earlier. I'd highly recommend this spot. Overall rating: 4.5 to 5 out of 5 stars.
