We stayed at Edgewood Mansion for my 40th birthday during New Years Eve. My husband planned the…read moretrip to include my closest girlfriends and their families. From the beginning to the end we had the best experience. The mansion has so much history, is perfect to accommodate multiple families with en suites, huge kitchen, many places to relax, and plenty to do. We had kids from ages 4 to 10. We thought we would run out of things for them to do. Not at all. The mansion is so huge, they had plenty of room to stretch out, the hills on the property provided for fun sledding and snowman building. The adults were either at the sauna, jacuzzi, kitchen, outside in the snow walking the 2 acres of property or just relaxing in one of the many comfy nooks. I highly recommend Edgewood Mansion for any type of event whether it's a birthday trip, family reunion, corporate retreat or any other purpose where you want to feel like you're at home, or provided for like a Queen. The location which is located higher up in the mountains is away from the traffic. The accommodations are immaculate and the concierge services provided by Chantal who was available to us 24/7 before we got there and during, was spot on. We catered instead of cooking which was so much easier on everyone so we could enjoy each other's company versus cooking. Chantal gave us choices and she had Mexican food delivered one night, Italian catered another and on New Years Eve we had a personal chef, Mike who is a master chef create the most delicious surf and turf dinner. We had piles of Alaskan king crab legs and the freshest, tastiest filet. Everything was provided. This was an amazing trip because of where we stayed, the owner Laura who was so accommodating and Chantal who was so helpful. Our friends have not stopped thanking us for coordinating this trip. We all got to spend time together with the kids together and not feeling overwhelmed because everything was at our fingertips. Thank you to Laura, Chantal, Irvin and the maintenance crew, Sherri our housekeeper and the magical Edgewood Mansion.

Laura, the owner, does a fantastic job of welcoming you, walking you through the sometimes labyrinthine maze of rooms, and welcoming you to a piece of history. As we travelled during Covid19, the property felt safe, clean and secure and we had no concerns about our health or safety. Highly recommend for people hosting special gatherings, parties, family vacations or special events. Definitely worth it.

They bought the property in February and opened recently. Still setting up some landscaping. I have reviewed this stay as a soft-open. Loved my room on the second floor of a standalone four-room cabin. Small, well designed, and well fitted. Every appliance is easy to use. There is a Roku remote control. I am the first person ever to stay in this room! Fun squirrels everywhere. It is built on a hillside with good steps and ramps. The entrance from the road had a steep slope that could be challenging in icy conditions. The owners are working on these issues: 1. The guest portal uses a web portal that did not always work well for me. Could not check in online from my iPhone; my VPN blocked it. I had to use a desktop browser. The portal then gave me the password for the keypad on my door but did not send me my room number. 2. There was not enough bandwidth to stream the Roku free movie that I tried to watch on the TV. 3. Unclear if the historic Mansion (from 1920) was open to guests. It was not clear to me where some attractions were, but the owners will provide signage.

Very comfortable room that was super affordable, clean, immediate hot water with great water flow. They hadn't switched the heat to air so had to keep the sliding glass door open at night but it was still cool out so was a good nights sleep. Hot tub/pool outdoor. Coffee/ hot water available 24 hours. Only had lunch at restaurant once but it was delicious. There was a nice game room next to the restaurant with books to read and fun family games. Hotel is at the end of the town so was quiet with lots of parking and easy to walk to shops. Very reasonably priced with 24 hour staff. Wonderful place to stay to visit Big Bear.

They sent up a fan and said that, " if we kept the window open it wouldn't be too bad." The fan ran all night (loud) and the temperature dropped to 78 degrees. If we had been informed prior to driving a few hours, we would have made other arrangements. We were told as we booked that breakfast was included. It wasn't. The only positive was that the staff was friendly and tried to help in a difficult situation. We won't stay here again.

ABSOLUTELY UNETHICAL AND SHADY!…read more We booked 3 rooms months in advanced with family coming into SoCal. We called after booking to confirm reservation and make a request to be placed near each other. I called the evening before our stay, again, to request the rooms be situated near each other and was confirmed they had all 3 reservations (2 rooms on one reservation under my BIL and 1 room on a separate reservation under my husband). We make our 2hr drive up to Big Bear and upon checking-in (around 3pm), we're told they couldn't find either reservations! Here's the shady part: one of the female employee hears this, she steps in to take over. She proceeds to tell us that the reservations were not in their system, they have no means of altering the system therefore it couldn't inadvertently be cancelled, she was new but somehow gave the response that this has never happened before, and she continues to insist my husband and BIL contact their credit card and third party booking agency (in addition to Extra Holidays which has nothing to do with our reservation) to address the issue, despite us showing email proof of reservation and payment. No one more experienced or even a manager (who appeared to be standing behind this receptionist) stepped in to help this "new" worker. After about almost an hour of "there's nothing I could do on my end" excuses, and having had 3rd party booking confirmation, the receptionist confirmed that EVEN if we were to verify all of this, they had no rooms available for our party. Which was odd because we were early for check in. Later that day, my husband got on the phone with the 3rd party booking agency we used to get a refund, they called the hotel to confirm we didn't stay, and here's the UNETHICAL part: WorldMark confirmed with the agent that THEY CANCELLED our reservation!!! A quick Google search for reviews on this issue showed this has been a common practice of WorldMark. They over book rooms by up to 20% banking on cancellation. But if not, then they drop the paid reservations, often without any notice. This is completely shady and unethical greedy business practice. We were fortunate enough to only have a 2hr drive, but folks traveling from out of state or country would have had no other accommodations! Please be aware and DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH WORLDMARK. The employees know what's up and they do not care and will lie just to get you out of the way.

Our cabin and our friends cabin we're both up against the cabin housekeeping must do laundry and the front porch had bags of garbage stacked on the front porch up into the ceiling so we felt like we were living in a garbage dump. There were no towels by the pool despite requesting twice. This didn't just happen one day this happened all three days that we were there. The cushions on the pool seats were disgusting and they felt too dirty to sit on. Housekeeping was sparse and as of this writing at 4:30, I had to request, they still make up the room. Tonight they're hosting a holiday event and as hotel guests, we will not have access to the restaurant or facilities unless we pay an additional $280. This is an overpriced motel six with very kind staff.

The location is great; it's located in the middle of The Village so there are plenty of stores nearby. We took about 5-6 cars and there was more than enough parking. Even though it is so close to The Village, it was still fairly private and great for kids to play and not be worried about crowds or cars. The lake is within walking distance and close to a lot of other fun activities. I also appreciated that the houses came included with different things, such as board games, DVDs, large TVs, pool table, foosball table, arcade basketball hoop thing, jacuzzi, and even something as simple as basic spices in the cabinet. Salt comes in handy! I took 1 star off because it was pretty hot during the daytime and the air conditioning didn't work very well or at all. Luckily there were a few fans available that helped. We weren't home most of the time during the day, so it wasn't too big of a deal. And some of the futons weren't very comfortable at all! It was difficult to sleep on because you could only lay on a certain area on the futon. Overall, this is a good place for a large group! Would recommend.
