    Pulled pork nachos
    Tommy B.

We have been wanting to try Moonshine for a while. The wife and I went for an early dinner. We sat right down and the place looks like it could be super fun with the live music later on. We were greeted and ordered the pulled pork nachos. I think the biggest mistake restaurants make with nachos is... they put the chips down and just pile on toppings on top. So imagine, pulled pork, guacamole, Sour cream and a bean / corn salsa just piled on top. Yup all the chips were mushy. No cheese! The server came back to take our entree order and I asked for a side of cheese. She said oh thats weird they are usually cheesy. She comes back with a ramekin of beer cheese. She says oh the cook forgot to put it on. ‍ She took our order. I had to order the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I absolutely love Hot Chicken. I've been to Nashville a few times and eat it frequently here as well. Well, the fries were cold. Salted nicely, but 1 bite in and you know they needed 5 more minutes in the fryer. Ok, it happens. I cut my Hot Chicken sandwich in 1/2. It's really hard to cut thru. It's even barely warm on the outside. Fine... well I take a bite and somethings isn't right. I look at the chicken and it's 80% raw in the middle. I spit out the chicken. I call the server over. She apologized which was nice. Asked if I wanted something else. I said no. My wife ordered the salad with salmon. She said it was OK, but she list her appetite as well after my chicken was raw. The manager came over and apologized, and took it off the bill. That was nice, but I really think the rest of our meal should have been comp'd. You gave me raw chicken. Probably the absolute worst thing to serve in a restaurant. The server was nice, but we won't be back. Huge disappointment as it's a cool themed place.

Food is always delicious. They have a website you can directly order from. Service is accurate and accommodating. The ambiance is very chill. Lots of space - tvs and a stage.

Had a great lunch with friends at Moonshine Alley today. Cristian is a top notch server & bartender. He was by himself but balanced it beautifully. Very personable and checked in repeatedly to make sure we had everything we needed. Food was delicious. One friend is from "the south" and was very impressed with the southern flavor (including the tea). I had the "Ring of Fire" chicken wrap & it was perfect as were the hand cut fries. The others had the steak sandwich, strawberry salad, waffle fries. Everyone was happy & full from the generous portions. Thanks for a great first experience and thank Cristian for us. Looking forward to coming back.

I have been wanting to come here for months and an amazing benefit for a local animal rescue finally brought me! The environment was great. The place was clean. The specialty cocktail was delicious. I cannot wait to come back again with friends!

Moonshine is a spacious establishment with excellent service. I had the espresso martini--twice--and both absolutely hit the spot. Charlie, the bartender, was incredibly welcoming and made one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. Honestly, I'd come back just for him. We had great conversation and he kept me laughing the whole time. Came in on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't packed at all, which made for a relaxed and comfortable vibe. There is a happy hour deal Monday to Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. where you can get hash puppies, cornbread, loaded tots, fried pickles, and nachos. I had the loaded tots and they were amazing. The creamy cheese sauce was something I've never tasted. I will definitely be back for the dinner menu. There are tons of TVs and even a stage with a massive projector screen--definitely looks like a great spot to catch a game or some live entertainment. I need to come back on the weekend to experience the full energy, but the weekday visit was perfect for a chill lunch. The place was spotless and the service was quick and delightful.

Excellent food and excellent atmosphere. I've been about 5 times, including both dinner and to "go out." They serve food until 10pm, then it turns into a bar. They have live music every night, and the bands that I have heard are great. Shout out to Rocco (security) & Olivia (server)!! They are the best.

Came for the first time for food the other week. Service was on the slower side and food was entirely average and pricier than the quality. Valet option for dinner was a big plus because parking can be awful there. After dinner we met friends there for a drink and that's where this place shines. Live music is usually pretty good but the band this night took MANY breaks. (Definitely see Nothing Personal if they're playing, they always put on a great show!!) The moonshine flight was fun and I liked that it was customizable. Overall I'd come back with friends to see a band and have a few drinks, but probably skip the food here.

Pretty early so not too busy which was great. We sat at the bar, our bartender Christian was great, he gave advice for our moonshine flight and local beers and drink specialties. The wrap was great! Will definitely be back!

Providence is a cute little city with a bunch of flavor packed between their surroundings. Moonshine alley is all about the southern delectable bites. It looks like a great place to go in the evening for a drink or to listen to live music. When we went it was in the afternoon so obviously it was empty. I wish I knew our server's name because she was a sweetheart. If I ever come back down to PVD I would solely come back to this restaurant to see her lol. Her playful energy when it came to recommendations for food and overall process of serving our food etc made us all laugh. They had so many different things on the food and drinks on the menu. They also had gluten free sandwich buns for $2 extra which was important since one of my friends cannot have gluten or it's not pretty. Our server loved the cheese curds so when we got her glowing reviews about it we were even more excited to try. It was delicious, I mean who doesn't love dough and cheese. I was oddly craving fish and chips and so I got that and it was delicious as well and they had the vinegar for the fries which i was delighted about. A little annoying that they don't put pricing for any of their drinks on the menu especially when it's a group trip and you have to figure out numbers after. Overall a very solid spot to visit for good food and if you want to have a nice atmosphere in the evenings. $$ Food 7 Atmosphere 8 Service 10 What i got Fish & chips Crispy cheese curds Watermelon spritz

Late Sunday lunch/brunch after miles of downtown walking exploring and I trip to the RISD museum. Large beer and cocktail menu but I opted for water instead. Food was good but the chicken and Nashville hot sauce needed seasoning. Great service as the bar and lots of TVs for sports watching.

Great, friendly service and fresh, delicious food. Decent beer selection (not much local or craft) and drink specials. Definitely loud and festive but it fits the atmosphere. Been here a few times and the food quality is consistent. Wait staff and bar tenders are great. Reservation even during March madness was promptly honored.

So this place was never on my radar but it is now! Friday nights are when we go out to eat with our pre teen girls. Both wanted buffalo wings for dinner. We did not. So we had to find a compromise and a new place because that's just our thing. This is what we landed on. So happy we did too!! Our waitress was amazing! Loved her so much!! Because our girls are under 21, we had to leave by 9. I need to come back without them one weekend. Live music!!! And last nights band I was so disappointed to miss. No clue who they were but steel guitar, mandolin, violin... clearly we've been missing out! Now the food... nothing shy of flawless!! Brisket so tender no knife was needed. Perfectly creamy Mac n cheese. Crisp Brussels. Moist cornbread. And the girls loved their wings and want to go back. Moonshine sangria was a perfect blend and the moonshine flights are nothing to sleep on. Pass me that butter pecan in an entire bottle please and thank you! Dying to go back without kids!!! And someone get me the name of that band so I can find and follow.... I need to see them perform!!!

Needless to say, it was a disappointing start to what was supposed to be a special family evening. Thankfully, a quick call to Aguardente in Fox Point changed everything. The person who answered explained that they weren't taking reservations that evening, but they did have one outdoor table left if we could make it there in time. Despite the challenges of navigating Providence during the World Cup festivities and the Cape Verde Festival in the Fox Point area, we managed to get to the restaurant and secure that last table. We are incredibly grateful to the staff at Aguardente for helping turn our evening around. Our daughter and son-in-law were hoping to enjoy one last dinner with both families before leaving on Monday for a special assignment in South Carolina, and the unexpected closure of our original restaurant had left everyone feeling frustrated and disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the team at Aguardente made us feel welcome. The food was excellent, the drinks were wonderful, and the service was outstanding. Most importantly, they helped transform what had begun as a stressful evening into a memorable celebration with family. Thank you to everyone at Aguardente for your kindness, hospitality, and professionalism. You made our families smile and created a special memory during an important moment in our lives. We highly recommend Aguardente and look forward to returning. -- A very grateful family

Atmosphere: cute outdoor seating area for summer nights. The inside has cool decor (including a…read morebathroom that apparently won an award??), but is very small and cramped. The upper 'porch' like area looks really fun, but the table we were seated at was so close to the other tables I was uncomfortable. I get that we're in a city, but I value my personal space and privacy and felt like the whole restaurant could hear my every word - ick. Service: our server seemed annoyed that I didn't want an alcoholic drink, and was not very helpful. Half of the menu is not in English (very chaotic how some portions are in English and others are not, it doesn't seem consistent), so we had some questions, such as "what does x taste like?" and the only response we got was "not too sweet"....okay, but what DOES it taste like? She spoke very fast and I couldn't understand her listing off the specials, even though she didn't really have an accent. She left partway through while we were there so I guess she was just at the end of her shift and checked out, but it was so offputting how rude and unhelpful she was. When our servers transitioned, we offered to cash out then since we weren't getting anything else and wanted the original server to get her tips, but she started joking around that we didn't have to do that - which I appreciate, but we actually did want to get going and get cashed out, but she refused to give us our check. I asked three times and she still wouldn't 'let us do that'...very weird. Food: there were not a ton of vegetarian options that appealed to me. I went a little overboard on plantains by accident, which is my mistake. I first ordered the Rellenitos with cilantro crema sauce, which were very good and a flavor combination I wasn't expecting. The dough to filling ratio was a little off and they were pretty dry inside, so I needed a lot of the sauce. An order only came with 2 and I wish it was more. I'm glad I ordered something else - Tula Fries, which came with the same exact cilantro creme sauce as the Rellenitos, even though they are described differently on the menu, which felt lazy to repeat a sauce. The sauce didn't go well with them at all in my opinion so I did not enjoy these as much as I would've liked. My friend enjoyed her drink, but thought almost all of the meat on her meat and cheese board was either low quality or close to going bad. It was priced reasonably, which we were shocked by, but she couldn't eat a good portion of it sadly. We did really enjoy the baked flava bean snack that was a part of it. The board weirdly came with just half of one small, half rotten strawberry that looked terrible - it would've been better to leave it off. Towards the end of the night, there was so much water on the floor in the hallway that goes to the bathroom and passes the kitchen - I had to walk through it to go to the bathroom, which felt like a safety hazard. My friend was on crutches and wouldn't even try to get over there since we knew she'd slip on all the water. It just looked terrible and was dangerous, so not sure what we going on that there was such a water issue there. Their specialties and more meat based dishes are probably great, but there just aren't a ton of things for me to eat here. I'd be willing to try it again for drinks and apps if the service wasn't so unwelcoming.

I'm honestly not sure how I missed it, because this is exactly the kind of place I like finding. It is the true definition of a small cocktail bar. The space is tiny, intimate, and has a very specific atmosphere, so if you're looking for a big place with plenty of tables, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for a great cocktail in a cozy little bar, however, you're in the right place. The cocktail menu is excellent. There are a lot of creative options that go well beyond the standard collection of Old Fashioneds, Margaritas, and Martinis you'll find at most bars. The drinks are imaginative without becoming gimmicky, and the combinations we tried were really well balanced and interesting. You can tell there is some serious thought behind the cocktail program, and it makes ordering something new a lot of fun. Our waitress was fantastic as well. My wife ordered a drink that apparently isn't something every bartender is familiar with, so our waitress went back to the bartender to ask about it. The bartender immediately knew exactly what she was talking about, which was a nice little reminder that these people actually know their drinks. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy without hovering over us. The music deserves a mention, too. It was fantastic and fit the atmosphere perfectly. The Eddy has that comfortable, slightly dark cocktail-bar feeling where you can sit down, have a drink, listen to good music, and actually enjoy being there rather than feeling like you're sitting in a loud restaurant waiting for someone to bring you your check. My only real warning is that this place is genuinely small. That is part of its charm, but it also means getting in and finding a seat can be difficult at times, particularly when it's busy. You probably shouldn't show up with a large group expecting to immediately find a table. For two people looking for a couple of really good cocktails, though, it's pretty much ideal. The prices are also quite reasonable for the quality of the drinks. You're obviously paying cocktail-bar prices rather than dive-bar prices, but I didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of. Considering the creativity and quality of what we were drinking, I thought the prices were perfectly fair. I'm actually a little annoyed that I went this long without knowing The Eddy existed. Providence has so many cocktail bars that you can spend years here and still keep discovering places you've somehow walked past a hundred times. The Eddy is definitely going on the list of places we need to come back to, and we will 100% be back.

We were doing one of our usual…read morebrewery and cocktail crawls around Providence this past weekend and had planned on stopping at Bayberry, but apparently every time we tried to go there they had a wedding and weren't open to the public. So, Plan B it was, and honestly, I'm glad we ended up here. Yellow Door has a really fun atmosphere. The playlist was lively, the place gradually filled up while we were there, and the whole space has a vibrant, welcoming feel without becoming obnoxiously loud or chaotic. It's very aesthetically pleasing, with a colorful, modern look that fits the whole taco-bar concept perfectly. It feels like somewhere you could drop in for a couple of drinks and tacos with friends and just hang out for the evening. Our bartender was really nice and attentive, and the cocktails were probably the highlight of the visit for me. The drink menu is extensive, and there are plenty of interesting options rather than the usual handful of margaritas and beer. Everything we had was well balanced and well made. Providence has been having something of a cocktail renaissance lately, and Yellow Door fits right into that trend. The food was good, although I have to be honest about the birria taco we tried. It was tasty, but it wasn't exactly a life-changing taco, and it was on the small side for the price. I was expecting something that would make me immediately understand why everyone gets so excited about birria, and this one didn't quite get there. That said, "good but not mind-blowing" is still good, and I'm not going to knock an entire restaurant because one taco didn't knock my socks off. We only tried a small portion of the menu, so there's plenty more to explore. That's actually one of the reasons we'll be back. I want to try some of the other food, and I'd like to come on a different night to see how the atmosphere feels when we're not in the middle of a weekend crawl. Sometimes a place hits differently when you actually sit down, order a few things and give the menu a proper chance rather than treating it as one stop on a larger evening. Overall, Yellow Door Taqueria is a very solid four stars. The atmosphere is fun, the space is attractive, the bartenders are friendly, and the cocktails are genuinely good. The food we tried was good, although the birria taco didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Still, there's enough here that I'm interested in coming back and trying more, which is ultimately a pretty good endorsement. Sometimes Plan B turns out to be worth keeping on the list.

Outstanding experience. Sat at the bar on a Tuesday afternoon. My bartender was Justin who was…read moreoutstanding. Taco Tuesday meant $5 for a select few tacos - I had the dorado taco (delicious - could have used some acidity from a lime wedge). 3:00 began happy hour (half price tacos and margaritas). Jalapeño margaritas are wonderful. I had a chili duck taco (solid), carnitas taco (great) and a queso carne taco (surprisingly tender steak). Great food and great drinks at a great price (due to both taco Tuesday and happy hour), but the main factor was the great, enthusiastic service from Justin. There were roughly a dozen customers and he never missed a minute. Even while washing dishes etc he was upbeat and joking with me and all the other customers. I will definitely return!
