A mixed review here. Considering we went for brunch today, July 5th, I think we were sat pretty quickly. The place has a really nice, comfy decor. One of the hostesses was an absolute doll. We loved her. We sat for just a little while waiting for appetizers, and my wife discovered that her ASS REALLY HURT, badly, and mine was getting bad too, due to my lack of natural cushion back there. My wife stood up and never sat back down. She noticed a 4 top leaving and asked the hostess if we could move, completely unaware of the challenges this can pose the crew during the course of business (changing table numbers in a POS isn't always as easy as it sounds). But she agreed it should be ok. They were busy, too, and I heard that they had some staff call in "sick" after a wild 4th of July. So they took care of us and I was really grateful for that. My Mexican Corn Chicken Sando was ok... the flavors kind of got mixed together on a way that it didn't really taste that awesome to me. The wife loved her Huevos Rancheros, despite the hair she found in it (after having them change our seats, she was too embarrassed to say anything about that) and the tortillas that were so Chewy, they were inedible, she really enjoyed it. Our daughter really really liked the poutine a lot. All in all, I wouldn't rush back here, but I think our main complaint was the accursed seating. Aside from the high top, man, on the regular seats you're just sitting on a flat block of wood. McDonald's has more comfortable seating, and McDonald's intentionally makes the seating slightly uncomfortable so you don't just sit there forever, taking up a table. Anyway, it was alright. Went here on 5/29/2026. As I stated in my last post we are in Rhode Island and my vacation is still in full effect til June 8th so more reviews coming . Anyways the food here was good . I had a lobster benedict or however you spell it and this like chocolate pumpkin loaf . They also do their own colas , like a local thing which I find very interesting. The 5 star is for the food and originality of items on the menu. The server didn't seem too pleased to be there but she wasn't like rude just very uninterested in being there , but with today's cost of living who can blame her . Amazing service and great food! Every staff member was so friendly and seemed genuinely kind, especially the bar staff! I didn't catch her name but she was quite new and working there only 3 days when we stopped in for a delicious breakfast sandwich, and she just had such great energy. They were serving brunch, and we selected: * Traditional Eggs Benny: Cage Free Poached Eggs, House Made Hollandaise, Griddled OMG English, with Applewood smoked bacon $21.25 * Sausage & Biscuit Eggs Benny: Hatfield Sausage Patties, Maple Sausage Gravy, Arugula, Poached Eggs, House Made Hollandaise, Cheddar Chive Biscuit $27.50 Both dishes included Home Fried Potatoes. I liked the Traditional Eggs Benny, the eggs were nicely poached, though the hollandaise was bland. I disliked the Sausage & Biscuit Eggs Benny, the gravy had an odd flavor, and the dish suffered from the decision whether it should be sweet or savory. It was very heavy and the hollandaise was lost as it attempted to compete with the strong gravy flavor. I wouldn't order this again. The Home Fried Potatoes were tepid and soft. The tables are next to a parking lot, providing us with a view of a large orange utility vehicle. We reserved a table for eight after wedding dress shopping with friends Saturday afternoon . They had the harvest table set up for us when we got there . The staff were kind and welcoming. Our waiter, Kevin, was attentive, informative and took care of the large party well . Paying great attention to the member of our party who had a gluten allergy . The food was absolutely delicious. While I understand that some craft beer focused establishments choose to avoid major soda brands, there's a reason Coke remains the most sold soda in the world. That said, this alone wouldn't have impacted my overall experience. We began with the blueberry cornbread. Unfortunately, it arrived cold and noticeably dry, lacking the warm, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture you'd typically expect. Still, this was more of a minor letdown than a deal-breaker. Where the experience truly fell apart was the pulled pork sandwich. At $26.50, expectations are understandably high. What arrived was essentially a bread sandwich with an extremely minimal amount of pulled pork accompanied by no more than a handful of fries. The portion size was shockingly small for the price point and simply not acceptable. I don't mind paying a premium for quality food, but value and execution need to align. Unfortunately, this dish missed the mark by a wide margin, making it difficult to justify the cost or recommend the restaurant based on this visit. read more

Decided to stop in on a whim after going to Providence place with a friend. The atmosphere is super cool and cozy, I was really surprised when walking in. The food and drinks were also delicious as I was very impressed. A little bit on the pricier side though. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, while I ordered the breakfast poutine. We both had no complaints as the food and service was great. The poutine came with an egg and instead of fries they used tater tots and it went together well with the cheese and gravy. This spot is not cheap - I under most circumstances would never pay $20+ for a breakfast sandwich and even with the quality of food, nearly $30 for a bagel sandwich and a coffee is steep. The food is REAL good regardless, just makes coming here more of an occasional thing. At the time of this review the deposit system for a reservation is a little flawed, my wife's card was run in full for the bill without running it by her and double charged the tip, resulting in the manger having to call us later to sort out an issue with the payment. He did say on the phone he wasn't crazy about the new system and didn't accuse us of dining and dashing or anything. I can totally see why they were voted #1 brunch in Rhode Island. This place is super cute. There is a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. It's definitely a no frills sort of vibe. The outdoor seating overlooks parking and construction so it's not the best ambiance but it's still a nice option. The staff was very accommodating. My ONLY issue with the staff was that our waiter brought the check to us and wanted us to pay while we were still eating. Honestly we didn't have our food for more than 10 minutes. He did politely leave when I asked him to allow us to eat first. He meant well, I'm sure, but his timing was off. We got the Cajun Lobster Benny and the Crispy Chicken & Biscuit. Both meals were amazing! I did expect the Cajun Benny to have more spice but it did not. The meals were great sizes and delicious. The one disappointing thing was there were accidentally a few shell pieces in the lobster benny. A Delicious Surprise Thanks to My Son! My son had been telling me about this place for a while, so I finally decided to give it a try--and I'm really glad I did! I wasn't too sure about the menu at first, but I went with the waitress's recommendation, and it turned out to be amazing. We visited Rogue Island Local Kitchen & Bar today. A super cute spot located inside the Historic Providence Arcade, with an entrance from the street as well. There's only metered street parking, so plan accordingly. Service was great. Our waitress was attentive, and the food came out quickly. We tried the short rib, crispy chicken biscuits, and sweet potato cornbread. The short rib was the standout: flavorful, hearty, and delicious. The cornbread, however, didn't have much sweet potato flavor, and the chicken, while well-seasoned, wasn't very juicy. Overall, it's a nice place. I wouldn't rush back here but a nice place to visit once. It's conveniently located in the theater district so you can walk there from PPAC after a show. The first time I came to rogue island was with my mother to visit her new university (brown). I have come back years later with my native boyfriend to try again as I loved it the first time. They serve classic American foods with cute flairs and twists. We came for brunch and it did take a while for our orders to be taken. About twenty minutes. But I was in no rush We ordered the bottomless mimosas, which was $50 for two people. And then the eggs Benedict. We got one pulled pork with tater tots and one traditional with home fries. Both were very good. However, the smoked pulled pork one had extremely undercooked eggs. All of the whites were extremely runny and watery so it's sort of like loosing a part of your egg. The traditional one was good but not the best I ever had. The tater tots are good! We also tried to white Alabama bbq sauce which was a $2 addition to our meal. Honestly though I was not in love with it. It tasted like tartar sauce so I'm not sure how they can even call this a bbq sauce. This was the first restaurant we visited in Providence. Rated highly off yelp, so here we go! We arrived at the bar and were given two menus and were (allegedly) told there was a third menu contained in a QR code of one of the menus. Confused? You and me both, but we'll come back to that. Looking over the beers, as many breweries these days, they have literally 17 IPA's, no Reds, no Browns, no ESB's, no Märzen's, and at one point I could tell the bartender was getting frustrated because I kept asking for beers they didn't have but I really wasn't sure what to do since I don't like IPA's. It being late September I asked about Oktoberfest beers, which they allegedly had, but neither of which were really Oktoberfest beers. Ultimately I wound up getting a cocktail, which was good, I think it was a Nantucket lemonade and the girlfriend had a lavender smash lemonade which was also tasty although not beers and for the number of beers in the image I posted I think you can agree the selection (if you can call it that) leans heavily towards IPA's so if you are looking for a place to get brewers droop, I think you found it. When we get to the food, I'm in Rhode Island & I like lobster rolls, looking at the menu there's a "lobster roll" for I don't know let's say $20 maybe $25 so I ordered that, we get our sandwiches, hers comes out with meat when it's a caprese, she's a vegetarian so that was an issue but i think it might have said that there was some smoked meat on it so that might be on us. Finally, when we're almost wrapped up the girlfriend gets a work call and I see that I have a little extra time, I start chatting with the bartender, I say "hey I'm not from here do you have any local bourbons that you recommend?" I say "let's not do anything crazy price wise, but it would be cool to try something different" so we agree on a glass of the tidewater bourbon she says it's $14.00" , I say "that's perfect can I get a big rock," "no unfortunately we only have regular ice cubes" "that's fine," I say. Girlfriend finishes her phone call I ask for the check, I go to pay for it and I'm very confused that the lobster roll is now $34 or $35 and so I ask and she says actually that roll's not on the printed menu but on the QR code menu (which I never even saw), what's on the menu is a "lobster roll" made out of lions mane which I guess is a mushroom of some sort, I have no idea. Not the end of the world, but annoying. Then I look at the check and I see that for the cube machine ice they added to my bourbon, I've been charged $2.50! I'm sorry, $2.50 to have ice added to a $14 glass of bourbon is absurd. Is it to teach me to not add ice or something? I'm sure this is a great place in comparison to other spots...but I wouldn't go back. read more

My group of 6 came on a Saturday Evening and was seated immediately at a LARGE table, even though it was packed, so that was nice :) There a special menu for the Kentucky Derby along with their regular menu, which made it really hard to choose what I wanted, because it all looked soooo good. I ended up getting the Korean Mac and Cheese. The pickled onions and micro cilantro added a nice kick to the creamy Mac and cheese. The crispy chicken added the perfect crunch too! I, however, got the avocado toast. Everything is locally sourced and fresh. There was homemade barata a sunny side up, egg and delicious bread. The meal was to die for! Grilled chicken sandwich and cauliflower melt were also good. Rogue burger was a disappointment. Ordered medium well and came out medium rare. Server said that's the way the grass fed beef comes out? Drinks - bar was a disaster. Took us 30 minutes to get our drinks. Old fashioned was terrible. No fruit (cherry or orange). Charged for Maker's but clearly was not. Porter was warm when I got it with no head. It had clearly been sitting. Vodka and soda with Cranberry was fine, but tough to mess that up. Service - terrible, but I don't really blame the server. She kept saying she was new and that seemed to be true. She could not answer any of the questions we had about the menu or the bar. When asked about the beer she said she was only 19 and did not know anything about it. Also that the bartender told her a Porter and a Stout are the same thing. For a restaurant that had over 30 beers on tap and prides itself on an ever changing beer menu you would expect the team (everyone who touches alcohol especially) to have at least some basic knowledge. Also, took forever to get food that did not come out together. Again, she was extremely nice...just out of her element and not trained well. Also, no sign of management anywhere on the floor. It's unfortunate that a good back of house has such a poorly managed front of house. It's a place I might get takeout, but never dine in again. read more
