This review has been long overdue. I never even make reviews but Rogue Island is so good that I had to create a yelp account just so I could share our experiences there. This a local spot, if you know, you know, and if you don't, now you do :) Let me just say that if there is one thing to really focus in on, it's consistency. In today's economy with everything so expensive you sometimes feel like you don't get the best value for money spent. So let me tell you, these guys and girls nail it every single time. First off it's a super cozy spot, perfectly lit with a high end tavern type feel. Service is always prompt and friendly. Ask anyone working and they're happy to help you out. You'll never hear let me get your server. Drinks ! Specialty drafts that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else. Drinks that are so well thought out and properly made. The wife hasn't been able to complain once ;) and that's saying something. The dishes speak for themselves just look at the pics. Who makes sausage cups for dipping ??! This place does. The wife had a watermelon salad here years ago and hasn't stopped talking about it. There is literally something here for everyone and every pallet preference. You have to try their brunch ! It's nice to see a place that really prides itself on what it serves. The wife and I were able to get a sitter and finally have a dinner night and Rogue never disappoints. Getting into the city can be a pain sometimes but it's so worth it coming here. They buy their products from local sources and they're a local business. I love to support it and can't wait to eat here again. For me to take the time to write this is saying a lot but the guys and girls who make this place run, really deserve the recognition. The service was top tier. Let's start there! Maybe we didn't order quite right but food was just ok. We started with the strawberry rhubarb cornbread. That was really good. Not overly sweet. A little heavier. Then we got the chicken with biscuit. The chicken was corn meal fried and a little dry. The biscuit wasn't flaky but was grilled. The potatoes and eggs were decent. We also got the brioche French toast and that was pretty ok. Nothing overly special but I like that it's farm to table style. Also we got to sit outside and that was nice. A mixed review here. Considering we went for brunch today, July 5th, I think we were sat pretty quickly. The place has a really nice, comfy decor. One of the hostesses was an absolute doll. We loved her. We sat for just a little while waiting for appetizers, and my wife discovered that her ASS REALLY HURT, badly, and mine was getting bad too, due to my lack of natural cushion back there. My wife stood up and never sat back down. She noticed a 4 top leaving and asked the hostess if we could move, completely unaware of the challenges this can pose the crew during the course of business (changing table numbers in a POS isn't always as easy as it sounds). But she agreed it should be ok. They were busy, too, and I heard that they had some staff call in "sick" after a wild 4th of July. So they took care of us and I was really grateful for that. My Mexican Corn Chicken Sando was ok... the flavors kind of got mixed together on a way that it didn't really taste that awesome to me. The wife loved her Huevos Rancheros, despite the hair she found in it (after having them change our seats, she was too embarrassed to say anything about that) and the tortillas that were so Chewy, they were inedible, she really enjoyed it. Our daughter really really liked the poutine a lot. All in all, I wouldn't rush back here, but I think our main complaint was the accursed seating. Aside from the high top, man, on the regular seats you're just sitting on a flat block of wood. McDonald's has more comfortable seating, and McDonald's intentionally makes the seating slightly uncomfortable so you don't just sit there forever, taking up a table. Anyway, it was alright. Every restaurant has its difficult days (and it's difficult customers!). read more

Went here on 5/29/2026. As I stated in my last post we are in Rhode Island and my vacation is still in full effect til June 8th so more reviews coming . Anyways the food here was good . I had a lobster benedict or however you spell it and this like chocolate pumpkin loaf . They also do their own colas , like a local thing which I find very interesting. The 5 star is for the food and originality of items on the menu. The server didn't seem too pleased to be there but she wasn't like rude just very uninterested in being there , but with today's cost of living who can blame her . I do recommend going here , food and service were good and the bathroom and music top tier ! read more

It was a sunny and warm day. We selected outside seating when we made our reservation, which was a good choice as the restaurant seemed warm when we entered through the Arcade. What Arcade you ask? The Westminster Arcade, built in 1828, and considered the first enclosed shopping mall in the United States. It's an interesting place to visit when you're in the area. We were greeted promptly and seated after only a few minutes. I counted only six outside booths, they are located in a narrow alley next to a parking lot, shaded by an umbrella at each table. Our waitress quickly provided us with menu and water. They were serving brunch, and we selected: * Traditional Eggs Benny: Cage Free Poached Eggs, House Made Hollandaise, Griddled OMG English, with Applewood smoked bacon $21.25 * Sausage & Biscuit Eggs Benny: Hatfield Sausage Patties, Maple Sausage Gravy, Arugula, Poached Eggs, House Made Hollandaise, Cheddar Chive Biscuit $27.50 Both dishes included Home Fried Potatoes. I liked the Traditional Eggs Benny, the eggs were nicely poached, though the hollandaise was bland. I disliked the Sausage & Biscuit Eggs Benny, the gravy had an odd flavor, and the dish suffered from the decision whether it should be sweet or savory. It was very heavy and the hollandaise was lost as it attempted to compete with the strong gravy flavor. I wouldn't order this again. The Home Fried Potatoes were tepid and soft. The tables are next to a parking lot, providing us with a view of a large orange utility vehicle. Service - Very Good Ambience (Outside Dining) - Not Very Good Food - 50/50 Thus a three-star review on this visit. read more

We reserved a table for eight after wedding dress shopping with friends Saturday afternoon . They had the harvest table set up for us when we got there . The staff were kind and welcoming. Our waiter, Kevin, was attentive, informative and took care of the large party well . Paying great attention to the member of our party who had a gluten allergy . The food was absolutely delicious. I had the crispy chicken and biscuits . The maple sausage gravy was great. The over easy eggs were definitely on the easy side , I'd order over medium next time I go . The biscuits were flaky and full of buttery flavor . We shared the pumpkin cinnamon for dessert and it was decadent. The chicken and waffles look so good ! Decided to stop in on a whim after going to Providence place with a friend. The atmosphere is super cool and cozy, I was really surprised when walking in. The food and drinks were also delicious as I was very impressed. A little bit on the pricier side though. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, while I ordered the breakfast poutine. We both had no complaints as the food and service was great. The poutine came with an egg and instead of fries they used tater tots and it went together well with the cheese and gravy. I would definitely want to come back and try other things on menu and for the vibe. read more

Amazing service and great food! Every staff member was so friendly and seemed genuinely kind, especially the bar staff! I didn't catch her name but she was quite new and working there only 3 days when we stopped in for a delicious breakfast sandwich, and she just had such great energy. Another blonde bartender remembered our order the second time we came back around and we appreciated that, it was great service! Thank you so much! Oh also, order the short rib sandwich with bacon. been here a handful of times and really appreciate the innovation. this most recent sunday brunch, i got the short rib breakfast sandwich and upgraded to a side of breakfast poutine tots. i didn't eat until the next day. very rich (or heavy food depending on how you look at it). high quality ingredients because they really source things locally and explain where exactly on the menu. high quality also is high priced here. pretty hefty brunch bill for just two breakfast sandwiches so unfortunately this can't be a regular thing. service was straightforward. the interior is casual and rustic i think is the word. read more

Came here for dinner with high expectations and left fairly disappointed. To start, they only offer off-brand cola. While I understand that some craft beer focused establishments choose to avoid major soda brands, there's a reason Coke remains the most sold soda in the world. That said, this alone wouldn't have impacted my overall experience. We began with the blueberry cornbread. Unfortunately, it arrived cold and noticeably dry, lacking the warm, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture you'd typically expect. Still, this was more of a minor letdown than a deal-breaker. Where the experience truly fell apart was the pulled pork sandwich. At $26.50, expectations are understandably high. What arrived was essentially a bread sandwich with an extremely minimal amount of pulled pork accompanied by no more than a handful of fries. The portion size was shockingly small for the price point and simply not acceptable. I don't mind paying a premium for quality food, but value and execution need to align. Unfortunately, this dish missed the mark by a wide margin, making it difficult to justify the cost or recommend the restaurant based on this visit. read more

We stopped in for brunch as we were driving through providence. We were glad that we did! Luckily there was a reservation still available for us to book day of; otherwise it might have been a bit of a way. I would recommend a reservation if you are interested in stopping by. The food was top notch, very well made and tasted delicious. We tried the crispy chicken and waffle - very good. Not pictured but also delicious, the eggs Benedict. Went here for breakfast right when they opened without a reservation. They have so many different eggs Benedict and they do it so well. The tater tot's are worth the upgrade fee. Poutine was excellent. Brunch was 10/10, I am definitely coming back here for dinner. read more

Came here for brunch on a Saturday with friends. I had not been here in a while, and the outside is a bit of an eye sore - it looks like there's construction happening. Nevertheless, the inside is cozy. We didn't sit in the main dining room, but the area past the bar and it was pretty hot in that space. Tucked away in the famous Westminster Arcade is Rogue Island. Being in an old building you get a sense of a history that's hard to beat. With a great list of rotating canned beverages, draft list & a cocktail menu there is a beverage for everyone. I found sitting at the bar made the service fast & friendly. On Thursdays there is a solid deal of a burger & beer for $20. With many of their foods, toppings & sides made in house I found Rogue Island to be a great spot for food & drinks. read more

I can totally see why they were voted #1 brunch in Rhode Island. This place is super cute. There is a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. It's definitely a no frills sort of vibe. The outdoor seating overlooks parking and construction so it's not the best ambiance but it's still a nice option. The staff was very accommodating. My ONLY issue with the staff was that our waiter brought the check to us and wanted us to pay while we were still eating. Honestly we didn't have our food for more than 10 minutes. He did politely leave when I asked him to allow us to eat first. He meant well, I'm sure, but his timing was off. We got the Cajun Lobster Benny and the Crispy Chicken & Biscuit. Both meals were amazing! I did expect the Cajun Benny to have more spice but it did not. The meals were great sizes and delicious. The one disappointing thing was there were accidentally a few shell pieces in the lobster benny. I do think the price for the meal was a bit high given the amount of lobster but again, it was worth the experience. I'd recommend making a reservation! read more

Food is great! I got the Reuben breakfast sandwich, our friends got chicken and waffles. All really delicious. This spot is not cheap - I under most circumstances would never pay $20+ for a breakfast sandwich and even with the quality of food, nearly $30 for a bagel sandwich and a coffee is steep. The food is REAL good regardless, just makes coming here more of an occasional thing. At the time of this review the deposit system for a reservation is a little flawed, my wife's card was run in full for the bill without running it by her and double charged the tip, resulting in the manger having to call us later to sort out an issue with the payment. He did say on the phone he wasn't crazy about the new system and didn't accuse us of dining and dashing or anything. Judging by that experience I imagine it may change in the future, but may be worth a heads up. Overall worth a visit! You'll leave full as I did read more

A Delicious Surprise Thanks to My Son! My son had been telling me about this place for a while, so I finally decided to give it a try--and I'm really glad I did! I wasn't too sure about the menu at first, but I went with the waitress's recommendation, and it turned out to be amazing. The chipotle-style meat was rich and flavorful, with just the right kick of spice. It paired perfectly with the melted cheese and eggs--comforting, savory, and full of bold flavor. It was far better than I expected! My son had the chicken and eggs and really enjoyed his meal as well. The restaurant has a laid-back, casual vibe that makes it a comfortable spot to eat. My only complaint--and the reason for four stars instead of five--is the music. It was so loud that having a conversation was nearly impossible, which took away from an otherwise great experience. Long beer list but way too IPA heavy for my taste though. Had pretzel bites. Didn't taste anything like a pretzel but the honey mustard and cheese sauce were darn tasty. I had the lobster roll. Maine-style. Tremendous. Not exactly what I would say, large in size though. "Steak fries" were tasty if not exactly hot. A tiny portion too of mainly scraps. My wife got the cauliflower melt. She enjoyed it but again, a sad offering of "Steak fries". Speaking of which, they are not really steak fries. Good service. Good vibe. Pricey for what we had. Everything here was good. I really wanted it to be *amazing* but it wasn't quite there. The Reuben tater barrels needed more flavor. The regular tater tots were crunchy and well seasoned. The short rib in the grilled cheese was good with the light orange fig jam flavor throughout but the cheese was so light, I missed it. My dinner companions were happy with their choices, though the Mac and cheese needed the flour cooked down a little more, good flavor but slightly gritty texture. The service was super friendly and the restaurant was cute. Love the all local concept. Worth a visit! read more

I think they had to grow the lettuce and kill the chicken .It actually was the worst service I've had in a long time. once I asked waitress to find our waiter, I requested a second beer took over 25 minutes to receive it. If you're in for an extremely lazy leisurely meal over an hour and 15 minutes to get served your male. This is the place to come. read more

Food was delicious! We were in town for a brief visit and we found this little gem on Yelp and couldn't wait to try. It was a little difficult to find but it has two entrances and it's a little difficult bigger than it looks from the outside. I started out with with crab cakes and the sweet potato cast iron corn bread, the crab cakes amazing real crabmeat it's lightly breaded and the sauce on the side is nice and spicy the cornbread was very good Moises and delicious totally recommend. For my entry I ordered the lobster mac . And friend got the burger. The first time I came to rogue island was with my mother to visit her new university (brown). I have come back years later with my native boyfriend to try again as I loved it the first time. They serve classic American foods with cute flairs and twists. We came for brunch and it did take a while for our orders to be taken. About twenty minutes. But I was in no rush We ordered the bottomless mimosas, which was $50 for two people. And then the eggs Benedict. We got one pulled pork with tater tots and one traditional with home fries. Both were very good. However, the smoked pulled pork one had extremely undercooked eggs. All of the whites were extremely runny and watery so it's sort of like loosing a part of your egg. The traditional one was good but not the best I ever had. The tater tots are good! We also tried to white Alabama bbq sauce which was a $2 addition to our meal. Honestly though I was not in love with it. It tasted like tartar sauce so I'm not sure how they can even call this a bbq sauce. Wonderful dinner at Rogue Island Local Kitchen and Bar during the Kentucky Derby! My group of 6 came on a Saturday Evening and was seated immediately at a LARGE table, even though it was packed, so that was nice :) There a special menu for the Kentucky Derby along with their regular menu, which made it really hard to choose what I wanted, because it all looked soooo good. I ended up getting the Korean Mac and Cheese. The pickled onions and micro cilantro added a nice kick to the creamy Mac and cheese. The crispy chicken added the perfect crunch too!
