When my friend announced, she wanted to do a candle making class as a part of her birthday weekend I wasn't sure what to expect. I will say after having done it, I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the experience. Everyone who worked there seemed very nice and knowledgeable. They have a number of scents and you get to pick the ones that you like the most. There's no right or wrong answers. It's a simple process, but relaxing and enjoyable. If you've never done this, I highly recommend it. I was a party of five adult women. There was a couple there at the same time as us and when we went to pick up our items, they were at least two families with young children. This is a good experience for all ages.

I came here as part of a group event to make candles. I've done this activity once before elsewhere and this was a far superior experience. The power, Teresa, guided us through the entire process from sniffing to pouring. It was fantastic and amazing! The space is wonderful and the workers are very knowdgable!

My job took my coworkers and I here last Thursday, and it was wonderful! Our host Teresa was such a joy to meet and was incredibly helpful. There are so many scents to choose from and they guide you throughout the process. My candle was picked up yesterday and I can't wait to smell and burn it. She was also very transparent about price. They offered handmade candle pots and glass blow candle pots as well!

Super cute space that makes booking and making things very easy. This is a good entry level "craft" since the only real hands on things you're doing are pouring and smelling things. All of the staff is like 11/10 helpful and they make it so simple in what could be a very overwhelming situation.

I came here for a candle making class with some colleagues from work. The team at Moonshot was very helpful in walking us through the candle making process. There were so many scent options to choose from! After trial and error I was able to craft the perfect blend for my home and left with a wonderful candle. I loved the experience and look forward to coming back!

Great & fun hangout place- the staff were very nice & friendly. You can decide on whether you want to make candles, reed diffusers. Room/body spray, or fragrance oil. Then you can get a clipboard & pen to write down some of the fragrances that you want to explore. A huge selection of fragrance for you to select from. Then after that, the staff would pick out the bottles of the different fragrance oil for you then you can start combining and mixing. It was so fun, relaxing and my friend and I love interacting with the staff. A great place for bachelorette, birthday parties or hangout spot. Definitely will come back!

What a fun date or hangout activity!!! We were pressed for time and don't live in San Francisco, so we opted to make reed diffusers instead of candles. Loved the process of choosing favorite scents and seeing what pairs well together. You get to choose a bottle and have it packaged so cutely for you. The experience was affordable and now I have something for the bathroom at home!

This was a really fun activity. We did team building here and it was a blast!! Theresa and her assistant were helpful and clear on instructions, received a little bit of education on different types of wicks (fun information). This was my first experience and it won't be my last and I'm ready to go back to experience it again with friends and family. Variery of options of the Candle holder and scents. Overall experience 10/10.

it was a cute activity to do with friends but overall kind of disappointing. the 'candle making' activity is essentially more or less just choosing 2-4 scented oils to mix, then you pay ~$40 for a small 8 oz candle... it took about 30 min total with a lot of socializing - you are smelling so many things that honestly you just lose your sense of smell by the end. after choosing the scents, you mix the oils then they basically do all the work pouring melted wax into your container and pouring your oil in

Unique experience, friendly staff, wide selection, bit pricey. I came here with my partner for as a date night and we had a nice time experiencing all the base scents and making our own. We came just before close at 6pm and were the last people to be helped - the employee did not make us feel rushed while we were there. While it's a bit overwhelming to sample such a large number of scents and figure out what you like, it does ensure that your candle can be truly unique. I also enjoyed being able to control the ratio of each scent in the final product by dropping everything myself in the concentrated solution. I would suggest keeping the number of scents to a minimum and smelling them again before using to confirm what you like! You also have the option to choose from a few different candle containers (varying prices) and stick a small note on the bottom afterwards (good for gifting). Would recommend giving this place a try!

Reserved a candle making class (50 mins) for a group of 7. We got there and the owner introduced herself before passing it over to two of her employees. We were told to pick up around 6 scents along the wall. After we selected the scents, we would return to the table but they didn't give us instructions unless we asked. The employees seemed like they didn't want to be there so when we asked for help, it felt like we were inconveniencing them. It definitely wasn't a great experience because I would've wanted an overview of what to expect after we come back from scent selection and more guidance throughout the process. We felt rushed and even finished 10 minutes early. The scents available are unique, for example they have wasabi, peppercorn, dad's den, and old books.

Super fun friend activity. We had a blast making candles and chatting. Cute ambience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The owner told us to go wild with the scents. Lol. Its super fun.

Birthday treat to self, with some friends. I was seeking something creative and an fun activity that could be shared, during the holidays. The experience was great and well worth the fees, not to mention you walk away with your own candle. The owner, Teresa was knowledgeable and a delight to work with. Highly recommend, especially if you love candles!!!

    Wonderful experience!

    How is the parking?

There's street metered parking, a small lot and 2 hour parking if you go up into the neighborhood. It's a busy neighborhood, so just give yourself time to find parking.

Can you bring your own candle vessel to fill in order to reduce waste?

I know it's an expensive neighborhood, but people often go to vintage/antiques shops specifically to find good deals. - The inventory (esp. clothes, wall art and decor) doesn't change all that much; I see many of the same items month after month. I wonder: if the prices were more reasonable, would they have more luck getting inventory in and out the door? - Bargaining is often unavailable. STUFF works with 3rd party vendors, so they may not be able to bargain with you (I tried). - The store front feels a bit stale. They painted the building a fun, bright orange, and they have a great little entry outside, but there's nothing there. It's pride this weekend as I write this, and I did notice a fun rainbow outfit inside, but it's hidden way in the back....not out in front. Consider having more fun with your display space! Neither a Pro or a Con: - STUFF's primary focus is Mid-Century Modern furniture and decor. If this is your style, great! If not, there's not much else, furniture-wise.

I was correct and also so glad I took the time to stop in. Firstly, the store employees: Tiara and Janielle were immediately and incredibly helpful, knowing that I'd likely want quarters for the vending machines and accepting my silly $2 bills (which my father put in my stocking at Christmas because he's a prankster like that) and handing me a cup full of $6 worth of quarters while explaining the vending machine limit of 3 prints per person very kindly. I asked if it was ok if I filmed and they assured me it was totally fine! This was really cool later on, as the shop's account commented on the video that I posted and that felt very interactive! After I had used up my last quarter and gotten my 6th mini mystery print from the vending machines, I started my search for a birthday card for the previously mentioned prankster-father of mine. The selection was delightful! Perhaps not massive, but still delightful as every option was by a local artist and priced really fairly for that privilege (about $6-6.50 per greeting card, which is actually a great value). I found four birthday cards for various people in my life and two "get well" cards for a friend and my mom who are both about to have surgery. After that I started to search through the other items in the shop, of which there were MANY and the options were so incredibly cute and kitschy as well as being very usable. I didn't end up getting anything other than the greeting cards, mostly because of the pricing, but I can respect a high price-tag when it's on a locally made artisanal item. I just couldn't personally afford any of it on that particular day! My six greeting cards totaled out to $46 including tax, and I'm ok with that! I've already used one and it was appreciated greatly! I have to say that the highlight of this visit wasn't the items or the super cool mystery art vending machines, although all of that was incredibly fun and exactly what I was looking for going in.. but the staff really made me feel welcomed and hyped up and I think that the soul of a store is sometimes made or broken by it's employees and how obviously they like or dislike their jobs. These individuals obviously enjoy working here and I felt welcomed by their energetic and thoughtful interactions with me. I will absolutely return!
