We were then handed a sheet of paper and were told to choose 7-10 scents off the wall. Once we chose our list, we were seated to smell the bottles together to see how we would like the scents to be mixed. They recommended for us to mix 2-5 scents but we could also mix more if we wanted to. I went with 4 different scents and mixed it to my liking. The candle smells amazing! I don't even need to light it and my whole room smells amazing! We did this activity as part of my pre-bridal celebration, and we all had a great time checking out their wide selection of scents and blending our own individual custom scents. We came just before close at 6pm and were the last people to be helped - the employee did not make us feel rushed while we were there. While it's a bit overwhelming to sample such a large number of scents and figure out what you like, it does ensure that your candle can be truly unique. I also enjoyed being able to control the ratio of each scent in the final product by dropping everything myself in the concentrated solution. I would suggest keeping the number of scents to a minimum and smelling them again before using to confirm what you like! We were told to pick up around 6 scents along the wall. After we selected the scents, we would return to the table but they didn't give us instructions unless we asked. The employees seemed like they didn't want to be there so when we asked for help, it felt like we were inconveniencing them. It definitely wasn't a great experience because I would've wanted an overview of what to expect after we come back from scent selection and more guidance throughout the process. Yesterday, I took my daughter and myself to a candle-making experience, but from the moment we walked in, the vibe felt off. The two workers there seemed uninterested and bored. The entire experience lasted about 10 minutes--we went in and right out, with no real engagement. I tried to make the best of it by recording the process, but the worker assisting us abruptly told me "no recording" without even saying "please" and had a dry, unwelcoming attitude. The music was playing, but at volume zero, which added to the lifeless atmosphere. I don't mind spending $36+ on a candle, but I expected to enjoy the experience, not just the product. I went for the experience, not to worry about the price. Unfortunately, this was not worth the $78 we spent. I rated it a 1, but honestly, it felt more like a 0. Never again. read more

The staff can also offer guidance if you aren't sure about the combination. A great place for a date! A studio where you can make your own candles/body sprays/diffusers. They have over 80 scents to choose from and you can decide which container you'd like for your candle depending on the size and shape. I made a candle and had a tough time deciding which scents to use! My nose was tired by the time I smelled 50 scents. The scents range from the simple everyday ones like eucalyptus to very different ones like baked bread and dad's den. The process is simple and you can use as many scents as you like. Would personally not recommend more than 3-5 scents if you really want to be able to smell each one and savour it. Studio representatives and the owner are very sweet, fun, and will happily guide you through the process, along with providing recommendations for combinations. The candle has to be cured after it is made, which can take anywhere between 1.5 to 3 hours (depending on the size) and it can be burned 48 hours after it was made. One can also just buy a ready made candle, but those have only one scent as opposed to have different scents blended together. They also have a discounted section for candles that are less than perfect. Prices differ depending on the size of the candle and it includes studio time, cost of materials, and the curing. You get the experience of making a candle to your taste and enjoying the process without having to spend an obscene amount - a good deal and great people! read more

I was pretty horrified by the treatment I got here. As soon as I arrived, the owner started complaining that she didn't want to let us in because she wanted to go home by 6:30 and only accepted customers by 6 (we were there 6pm sharp). She never directly addressed me and instead complained to her staff member in front of me (and later pulled her aside to complain about me again which I thought was pretty unprofessional). The only reason I can think of her obviously rude and hostile treatment is that I'm obviously a person of color visiting a rather gentrified and wealthy area. I was very saddened to hear that she is usually nice to her customers but felt the need to pick on me in particular. I know this review won't make much of a difference, but if this convinces anyone to rethink coming here I'd sleep better at night. It's sad there are still people like this in the world. read more

Such a sweet, novel, sensory experience for me and two 11 year kids, and a unique way to spend a little time together. I appreciated the transparent pricing (the price tag on the vessel that each participant chooses to use includes the price of the whole experience - materials and time - excluding tip). The kids and I had a great time sniffing the scents to choose from, and we found it interesting to learn about the similarities and differences in one another's preferences. The staff (especially Teresa and Eden) was friendly, patient, welcoming and encouraging. They created a very comfortable environment, which says a lot, especially for kids who are prone to frustration. The staff was easily available when we needed advice or help. They chatted with us while we worked in a way that felt very genuine, without hovering or making us feel rushed. Our instructor (and also the owner) was Teresa and she was so sweet, enthusiastic, and informative. I learned so much about candles that I never even knew to ask questions about! It look about 1.5 hours for us to complete our candle-making activity and once done, Teresa asked us to either return in 90 mins to pick up the finished candles or come back another day (we chose the former).
