Unfortunately I must knock a few stars from my last review. In the year since my last review, my boyfriend and I adopted another dog. This dog is special needs due to having IBD. The first thing we did once adopting her was make an appointment at our vet, Thomson Animal Clinic. We were able to get an appointment within a few weeks. All we really wanted to do was get her on file at the vet and have a well visit. When making the appointment my boyfriend was told he could come inside for the visit (which is what he wanted due to having multiple questions) They still have Covid restrictions in place (which is okay) However, we weren't able to speak to the vet or vet tech regarding our multiple questions on our new rescue. Everything is done over the phone in the parking lot. It's not very personable anymore, unfortunately. Feels more like a transaction instead of passion and care for an animal. I made an entire folder our new dog with all her info, vaccine history, questions, etc and no one even looked at it. We'll likely be switching vets going forward due to this issue. read more

The vets are kind and there are some great girls at the front desk, but unfortunately this place is just not up to the level of other vets in the area. We've experienced a few too many mishaps to consider going here again--scheduling issues, extremely high costs, a dingy facility, and most importantly, questionable medical advice. They completely brushed off a major complication our pregnant foster kitty was having (they told us it was just a placenta; we took her to the ER later that day and discovered it was a mummified kitten that nearly cost her her life. Don't google it! It was horrifying.). There's a reason they always have appointments available! With so many other clinics in the area, it's just not worth bringing your pet to this place. read more

I would not go there again, very rude employees, not greeted when I walked in Stood there at least 3 to 5 minutes, when she finally came up front never said hello, nothing, I got who are you, ok here fill this out. If I hadn't paid $60up front I would of walked out. The floor was dirty, the vents, which is animal level, oh and this is a Vets office do not look like they have ever been cleaned, even in the exam room, totally disgusting so much dirt in the vents. read more

I have been going to Thomson for 17 years, with two cats and two dogs. Thomson has been exceptional on every visit. My first Corgi had allergies and had to have shots every month, for nine years. Thomson stored my serum in their refrigerator and never charged me for administering these shots. Their kindness was amazing when my first Corgi had to be put down. My new Corgi has anxiety issues and they recommended a behavioral vet. Boomer is doing extremely well under their care I highly recommend Thomson Animal Clinic read more

We have always taken our pets to this clinic for the past 20+ years. Our dog hurt his leg yesterday 3/29/2022 while playing fetch causing him a sever limp and pain. I called this A.M. to get him in for evaluation and/or treatment, I was told that "they were completely booked" and could not see him and to take him to an Emergency Clinic. This is not a routine check up, this is an animal in pain and needs attention!! Ever since Dr. Mulick retired this place has gone to hell - We will be finding another vet to give our business to going forward. first I call for an appointment for my sick cat told there was an appointment the next day I would have liked a couple of questions about our problem Dr couldn't be bothered to answer them. I showed up for the next day appointment only to learn they gave the appointment to someone else and still would not see me or answer my questions. I am looking for a new vet asap. read more

I recently made an appointment for my pet, beware if you're a new patient. I had to give credit card # to even make an appointment. Called back to cancel not even 30 minutes later, and OH! my credit card will be charged $50 anyway because that is non-refundable, which they don't tell you when you make the appointment. read more

During the Covid-19 crisis it is extremely difficult to take care of a sick pet. The pet visit becomes difficult because you can't see who you are talking to. There is a new vet working at the clinic and she doesn't know how to use the right tone of voice when speaking to her clients. I was going through a very difficult time especially finding out that my dog has cancer and that she wasn't going to be able to operate on her. My advice to her is if you can't handle the pet needs... please give a recommendation to a specialist. Your clients would appreciate your honesty and maybe you will keep your customers. I will not be returning after being a customer for 11 years. read more

Do yourself and your pet a favor and go someplace else. My dog needed life saving surgery but they wouldn't help me because I didnt get my dogs $1500 ultrasound done at the place they referred me to. So my dog who needed her gallbladder removed in a life or death situation we were basically told good luck by the unpleasantly unprofessional office manger. Does this place need some serious updating and ambience? Absolutely! Buuuuut, along with the outdated wall paper and lack of storage space for everything behind the front desk comes extremely fair pricing, an office staff that is genuinely caring and friendly, and a doctor that knows his patients and their owners. He is very knowledgeable and has always taken the time to explain things in "people-speak" when it came to any problem that arose with our 2 cats and dog. They have always gotten us in right away when we called and it was comforting to know we would see the same doctor at each visit. When our cat finally NEEDED to have her teeth cleaned, he explained why not doing so could be a significant reason why she wasn't at her best and needed to be brought in. We have had other vets tell us that our cats teeth should be cleaned yearly, at $300-$500 a time. Thompson Animal Clinic charged way less and called us mid-procedure to approve an extraction, since it would slightly add to the cost. The other vet just factored in the cost for extractions "in case." You paid whether or not it was needed. We would recommend them to anyone in the area! read more

If I had taken my dog to Thompson , instead of the vet I chose at the time, my baby would have lived longer . Today, my 2 dogs go here and I have had very positive results. The doctor is experienced and caring. He does not suggest unnecessasry procedures and has been right on with his diagnosis of whatever medical condition my dogs are experiencing. I had bad luck with 2 other vets near me ( see above ) and a third who brought me to tears in the office. Thompson AC is the hospital I was looking for. read more

After having my Dog taken care of since 2016 and now having my new puppy added, the care is sad. If your dog is sick you have to wait 2 weeks to be seen. Sorry to say but since the original dr left it is not the same. read more

Never been more upset with a vets office. I took my puppy in for a visit & I will never be bringing her back. The veterinarian was beyond rude!!!! The way he talked to me was so unprofessional and he treated my dog as if he had never handled a puppy in his life. At one point he angrily screamed for another tech to "come hold this dog" because my puppy was scared from being held down and was throwing her head (never once trying to bite, as her tail was waging the whole time) He than went to clip her nails and weigh her and NEVER came back to ask if I had any questions or concerns (which I did) not even a "thanks for coming in, you're all set" SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! Also, after checking out I was just handed medication for my puppy. No instructions, no nothing. Like I'm suppose to just know what I'm doing?! I'm not one to complain but I'll never be back. Took our greyhound there because the vet we normally go to was booked, luckily, we were able to get her in there. We had to get a few routine shots so I can bring her into work. There was a little swelling that never really got down and of course made me a little nervous. I called and they were able to squeeze me in right away. The staff was nice and the doctor was down to earth, too. He tested her blood right then and there finding out it was no big deal. Phew! I went to the desk to pay for the visit and they said I was good!!! Obviously that wont happen on our next visits. With the combination of how he explained things in lament terms, nice to my pooch, down to earth, and knowing that they are not out to get me spoke a lot to me. I had used this vet for years, and I've had enough. I have regularly received attitude and poor service from this place. I came home from work one day to find my dog with a gaping wound from trying to hop the fence. I called and said I had an emergency. They said they wouldn't accept her unless I could be there before 5:30 because they close at 6. I said it would be close. Worst case scenario, I would be 5 min past that. They were about to decline me. I pressed the issue, indicating that I've been loyal to them for years. They reluctantly accepted. Come to find out (from the vet no less), that had I waited, she probably would have lost her leg. I called again today to try and make an appointment because my other dog can't keep food down. They were considering refusing me all together because I hadn't been there in a while! They offered me an appointment in a week and were sure to let me know that it was going to be expensive. I asked what to do about feeding her in the meantime. They refused to offer any suggestions. I cancelled my appointment and am seeking another vet. read more

I've gone to this vet religiously for 10 years. With 3 dogs, and my youngest dog is timid around men and other people "man handling" him. And I asked to be in the room while they heart worm test and vaccinate. The vet aggressively grabbed my dog and pinned him to the ground saying he did it because he was going to bite him. I had a muzzle on my dog I put on him. He wouldn't have bit anyone. And more recently why I wouldn't ever have someone go to this horrible vet, I called because my dog chewed up his plastic cage 2 days prior and then began throwing up chunks of plastic. I had no other vets that I've used so I called Thompson animal clinic and they told me they refused to see my dog even if it was an emergency. So I asked if they were willing to risk my dogs life to not see me and they said they would not allow him in the office. I've never been so disgusted in my life. They don't give a crap about animals. I hate the vet. He's a jerk and needs to get his credentials taken away. He's a disgrace to all vets out there. If I could rate him a zero I would. read more

My parents took our pets here when I was a child. I continued to bring my pets to Thomson Animal Clinic as an adult. Dr. Muhich is a very compassionate Doctor. He gave me options, and we went over treatment plans together. I would still be taking my pets to this clinic except I've moved too far away . my pet Lenny gets car sick. It has taken me years to get around to writing this review because every time I think about it, I get upset all over again. A few years ago, my 12-year-old husky had fallen ill. After a few days of refusing to eat much more than a bit at a time - and suddenly starting to bleed from the nose, I made an emergency appointment on a Saturday. I called about an hour before they closed, explaining what was going on. They told me to come in, but pretty much to hurry, because they were closing soon. I hurried as fast as I could - but this included carrying my full-grown husky out to the car (and again, into the practice) because he couldn't even walk at this point. They took my dog downstairs and did a battery of tests, only to find out that his liver was failing. My options as far as treatment went, were bleak. Send him home with a medicine that they doubted would work, put him in the hospital for a couple days so they could give him meds that would give him a 50% chance, or a week-long hospital stay that would cost me over $1000 (that I just didn't have) that still wouldn't guarantee he'd survive after. Or, put him to rest. This was my first time dealing with a sick pet like this - I looked to my veterinarian for his advice. I asked what he would do if he were in my situation. His response was, "That is a very sick dog." After 11 years with my beloved boy, I made the decision that I thought was best for him - to put him to rest. In my distress, I asked if I would get to stay with him. The vet told me no. When I asked if I could at least say goodbye? THEY TOLD ME NO! Mind you - my dog was still downstairs from having his tests done. I was taken back by this - but I thought maybe this was commonplace, even though I'd heard of a lot of people staying with their pets as they put them to sleep; I'd never done this before - I didn't know any different. I was distraught, my head was swimming, I was sobbing so hard I could hardly hear as I paid for it. And then I left. It was now a few minutes past their closing time. I let them take him downstairs to do a dang test, and I never saw him again. They rushed me out of that office so fast that they didn't even give me his collar and leash. Nor did they bother to contact us about it. I had to send my husband back up there a few days later to get it. (They also forget to give me my debit card back - thankfully I was still in the parking lot crying when they realized it.) It was only over the past couple of years of conversations with people that I have discovered that this is absolutely unheard of. Never has a single person I've had discussions about this with, EVER heard of a veterinary clinic denying a pet-owner the opportunity to say goodbye when they are being euthanized. My family rescued that dog off the street after he'd been hit by a car and never claimed by anyone. I had that dog since I was 13-years -old. He was part of my family, and Thompson Animal Clinic has left me with inconsolable guilt that has plagued me for years, and will continue to. Guilt that stems from the last words my dog heard from me being words with the vet, and not to him. Not the words of love and affirmation that every pet deserves to hear as they go. I have never returned there with any other pets, nor will I ever. Thompson Animal Clinic, you robbed me. You robbed me of closure. And you robbed my pet, too. You robbed him of the loving journey into rest that he deserved - held in the arms of his human. read more

Dr. Muhich is the most caring, knowledgeable and compassionate vet I have met. My dog loves him and can't wait to run into the exam room to greet him. He recently worked a miracle when things looked hopeless for my dog. His staff is compassionate and very helpful. Anne and Kelley have recently helped me through an illness with my dog and couldn't have been more caring. Before we got married, my husband drove 45 miles to take his dog to Dr. Muhich because the care provided was beyond comparison. read more
