Cute, family owned restaurant! I thought the decorations were fun and you could tell a lot of them were home made. It's a tad run down but still has a cozy vibe. The food was really good! I got the French dip and I HIGHLY recommend it! The fries are homemade and are good, just not crunchy which I think would really improve the taste. Staff is friendly-ish. They don't smile a whole lot and are just there to do their job and go home. They most definitely take care of you though! I feel bad... But wow do I not like this place that's for sure. Ok here's the deal, it's a Christmas tradition that on the 22nd of december we go to Moores. Now guess whose idea this is ( hint NOT MINE ). I get it I get it lots of these reviews are "opinion based" and it isn't fair to not like a place just because you don't enjoy your food, but it isn't just about the food. First the food isn't good, it's soggy and cold and not presentable at all. I also never like what I get although everyone around me doesn't seem to mind... To be honest this sends me into a spiral "am I the problem" No I didnt think so. The service is anything below mediocre. It's on and off and it's annoying. They also do not take reservations which I feel like is crazy in today world and I have BIG ol family so the wait time is always far too long. The ambiance is a little creepy but I do appreciate how on theme they are so I won't knock them on that. Overall not my favorite. Although I gave it two stars 1. Because it's impossible to give it a zero 2. And second because my family likes it and family is the world to me so if they like it, I will show some sympathy. read more

So this was my first visit but my wife has been here several times. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The hosted brought us water and this was followed by our server showing up and taking our order. My wife and I ordered our usual, coffee for her and tomatoes juice for me. We decided to split one of their omelets and a scone. I will say that service was at light speed. We had no more than ordered and our food showed up. The omelette and scone were great don't know why I haven't been here before. That will change. So food is great as is the service. From the outside the place looks rather small but is very large when you get inside. A definite addition to my must return list. read more

This is one of those spots where you can get Liver and Onions for dinner or get a side of gravy covering everything you ordered. Yeah, those are both good things. Solid breakfast joint with some good burgers, sandwiches, and entrees. A few things to note: 1- The scones (fried bread to those outside of Utah) and pancakes are the size of your pillow, plan stomach space accordingly. 2- Yes, the parking lot is full on weekend mornings. Yes, they still have space inside. 3 - Service is fantastic. The waitstaff here are in it to win it and have probably been serving tables since the dawn of time. This isn't an easy place for "novice" servers and there are few of them. I am a breakfast fan so this place really strikes well with me. My wife, my mom, and I stopped here because we were in the area doing something. We all had breakfast and we thought it was really good. I'd like the coffee they served, it was not better tasted great. I thought the service was really good too. I love these old-school diners, and some other waitresses looks like they have worked there for years! These seem like the best places to eat. Nice diner with cozy decor, the service and atmosphere is why I give it a five star. I wouldn't say their food is super amazing but it is good, and great for the family diner feel and a local restaurant rather than some chain. I have been here many times with my family and will continue to go! I ordered the burger patty plate with the added patty for my child to share, plenty of food for myself and child. They cook eggs very well in the exact way you order them, I like over medium and it's hard for me to get someone who can cook them that way, so very pleased with that. The burger patties were a little dry but good flavor, the hash browns have a nice mix of crispy bits and soft, the rye bread was also good. Okay. We picked this place as a last minute decision cause the Spousal Unit finished shopping faster than I thought she would. Love you, dear. It was across the street from where we were. Had second thoughts when we walked in. It has the look and feel of someplace that hasn't changed in 50 years. But I have to temper this with the fact it was clean. Hell yes! Moores is exactly what I've been looking for in Ogden. Old school diner, super clean, friendly staff, a ton of regulars and super quick service! I sat down at 9:15am and was done eating and had the check at 9:31am. Got the "light breakfast" with hash browns... 1 egg, 2 slices bacon and a pancake. Pancake was absolutely perfect, warm syrup, salty butter... if i wasn't so stuffed I'd have 3 more. Egg was perfectly over easy, bacon was amazing... and the salsa... I'm coming back with a wide mouth jar and asking how much to fill it to the top. Last and most important... coffee was kept topped off. Gotta keep my heart beating at 120bpm throughout the whole experience. 10/10 recommend for my diner lovers! read more

Well, well, well! I have got to say, this breakfast place here at Moore's Restaurant out in Ogden on Wall St next to the Mall is definitely a go to place for some authentic traditional breakfast. Wife and baby girl shared the Combo Special and I had the Veggies Skillet! Everything tasted sooo good for breakfast!! Probably the worst resturant experience I've had lately. Went here and just recieved super rude service. With all the diners in the area, we have plenty of options to choose from for breakfast, and this was supposed to be just a simple breakfast before our sons basketball game. It ended up a nightmare of frustration because the waitress was so rude from the second we arrived. The manager stepped in and was even worse. If I knew I would have such a terrible experience I simply would have gone to Waffle Love or another resturant not wasted my time coming here for a bad breakfast experience. Then at the game I read the Google reviews and saw another person wrote that when they pointed out the bread wasn't sourdough the waitress got super rude and threw a bag of white bread in their face and insisted it was sourdough. Lol pretty much the same thing happened to us when we tried to say our eggs weren't cooked the way we requested. The waitress got even more rude and insisted that our eggs were cooked the way we asked. Just a nightmare. And very unprofessional... but I'm sure it is the same waitress. It made me laugh reading the sourdough review after my bad egg experience. Well, I wouldn't recommend... also they have a ton of muscular guys working with super short shorts on and it's just really weird atmosphere. We got shunned by village inn on 12th st. in Ogden . Thank you for doing what you did village inn, best thing that happened because we found Moore's. Small family style cafe, but WOW that's some great food. Great service, we didn't even sit down and the server was there with coffee, maybe she could see the need? I didn't expect that much food. The biscuits and gravy was better than my husband's (ssshhhh don't tell him). Bacon was cooked perfectly. Eggs were fresh and made just the way I like them. The food and service were great until my friend and I sat and visited apparently too long, and were told quite rudely by one of the staff members, maybe a manager, that we took up that table too long and her waitress was not able to make any more money on it now since they were closing in an hour. First of all, the table across from us was empty the entire time, and the table behind us became empty as we were eating, 2nd point is that every time a waitress or cleaning person came by, we asked if we needed to move and were told each time, "No, you're fine!" 3rd point, my friend and I had been at the table approximately 2 hours, but I specifically asked for the back area knowing they close that area when it becomes less busy so that we wouldn't be taking up a regular table. I have done this with friends at several restaurants in the area every few months and have never been treated rudely. We watch to make sure we're not keeping business away, and in turn always tip the waitress extra since obviously we kept her table...a "win-win" since she makes the money with much less work, 4th when I called and asked to talk to the manager when I got home, I was rudely told, "We're closed and he's gone!" (Which is was before their closing time of 2:00pm), and when I asked for the manager's name I was literally hung up on!!! My husband and I have been loyal customers at this restaurant for years and have recommended it and taken several people there, from church groups to friends, and even family visiting from out of town. I have never been treated so rudely at any restaurant, and definitely will not be returning. read more

Moore's to the rescue!! After our not so stellar experience at another local eatery, we decided to head to Moore's and they didn't disappoint as usual!! We were greeted the same as always and we were served our breakfast in less time that we were ignored at the other place. My wife ordered the Hungry Man breakfast and I got the combo breakfast and it was amazing!! Our meal was cooked and seasoned perfectly, hash browns were crispy and I love their fluffy pancakes!! I've long had a contention, still unbroken, that there are only a couple places in Ogden worth eating at, namely The Pie on Harrison and Rooster's Pub downtown on Historic 25th. Today's visit to Moore's did nothing to dissuade this. In point of fact, I was kind of excited to try this, as it struck me as something along the lines of a Dee's or roadside greasy spoon (as my wife thought), but with the emphasis on BBQ on the sign, I expected maybe something new. In a word: nope. The food here is a lower grade version of Dee's. I got half-raw eggs, somewhat burnt and otherwise mushy hash browns, congealed gravy for the biscuits and gravy part, burnt sausage (that part I didn't mind), one of the cheapest teas on the market for my hot tea and service that featured delivery of the various items in the following order: Burgers & fries first. A few minutes later, the two breakfast plates. A few minutes after that, the toast for the breakfasts. The server tried very hard and was extremely pleasant, but watching her push some errant hash brown strips that had drug across the table back on the plate on top of the sausage was somewhat stomach wrenching, itself not helped by the raw eggs on the plate. While the biscuit was ok, none of the food really rose above being marginal, including the somewhat greasy scone. The fries were limp and unappetizing and while I debated back and forth between breakfast and BBQ (I couldn't find a combo plate, so didn't order any, which I'm glad for now), it seemed clear to me after the food arrived that I picked the least worst choice. The final indignity came with getting slugged an extra 5% for using a credit card, which pretty much cements that I will never be choosing this restaurant again. read more

I have been to Moore's many times over the last 30 years but I had not been there in about 10 years until going there for breakfast recently. We come here for breakfast on weekends. The first time, I was going for the nostalgia factor. My mom was a waitress here in the late 70s. The decor hasn't changed at all. That first time it seemed a little frightening, because I was hungry, and the place is always packed in the morning. However, the staff is so amazing. You will get your breakfast almost as quickly as if you had gone to a fast food counter. The food is delicious, especially the Sausage Skillet. I get it with a scone (Utah style, aka frybread) , so I'm pretty sure in the end it will be the official cause of my death. First time here but definitely not the last. Nice family restaurant atmosphere. We were seated wicking, even on a busy morning where I expected a wait. It's a Coke place, so that's always a win. I went simple with biscuits and gravy, a staple item for comparison. Wife ordered bacon and eggs. Gravy was standard sausage gravy, good flavor no complaints. Biscuit was spot on, one of the best I've had in a while. Bacon was well done as preferred and excellent. And the sourdough toast... Well now... It had butter. I don't mean the usual little pathetic patch of butter you usually get. I mean butter. The entire slice covered in buttery perfection. Service was great.
