Moore's has always been a more than helpful sewing store with nothing but nice patient staff who are all very knowledgeable of all the different machines. I learned about Moore's from my mom, she's a master quilter- until she her strokes & her deficiencies left her unable to physically able to do it anymore- she has 6 machines she purchased all from Moore's over the years- I've followed in her footsteps. Taking different quilting & embroidery class Over two years in HB. I loved every minute of every class. I love my new hobby Unfortunately.... the Brea store has a Manager , Aldolfo who promises a lot & delivers nothing but continued broken promises. The Brea store is a great store, The store is big, with lots of space for classes, there is plenty of parking & the location is great. I was so excited when the Orange store closed & this one opened. But unfortunately, I will be driving to the H.B store from now on. Adolfo has ruined it for me. His staff complain about him as well. So for that reason I will never walk into the beautiful Brea store Again, the staff is Great, the manager is not. Grateful for the other stores. Only Brea is the closest to me now since we moved so I have to find a new sewing Center to go to being as I'm not able to get to HB as much anymore. I don't usually leave reviews, but I'm so disappointed, & to find out I'm not the only one who agrees.....I thought I would share. I have a Shark Navigator and I was trying to change the roller on the vacuum. There was about 13 or more screws that I needed to take out. I found out later that they really don't want you to change parts on this vacuum, they want you to call and get item placements. There was one screw left that was in and kind of stripped and I could not get it out. I took it to a local vacuum cleaner store and they told me about Shark and that nobody really touches them. She advised me to call the Shark dealer. I called the Shark dealer and they didn't have a clue of how to help me. I then called Moore's and spoke with Josh on the phone. I explained my dilemma with the screw, and he said come on by and he would try to get the screw out. I was so elated because I was going to have to possibly buy a whole new vacuum! Went right over to Moore's and Josh got the screw out, attached my roller and I was so elated. What a nice guy! As I left, the other store worker opened the door for me. They made my day! They look it over and fixed it right there, showed me what to do if it happens again ( and didn't even charge me!!!) they were so nice and helpful!!!! I have A 50-year-old Elna that is still an amazing machine. It has always been maintained by Moore's, although not the Brea store. They have always been amazing in fixing and maintaining it, even in an 'emergency'. I decided to go to the Brea store for maintenance this time because it is near near my office. As soon as I walked in all I got was a hard sell. The woman there barely looked at my machine before starting her sales pitch. She tried to show me all the stitches a new Brother machine had that my Elna already has. I was so disappointed I just took my machine and left. I will give Moore's another try but not at the Brea store. read more

I needed a new vacuum because my Oreck died after 21 years an excellent vacuum. I went to Moore's to evaluate and compare vacuums. Erin was a personable and a non-pressure salesman. He listened to what I was looking for in a vac. Then he demonstrated the various vacs. He explained the pros and cons of each one. His store didn't sale a SEBO vacuum at the time but they were going to start selling them soon. I was their first SEBO customer. He told he could order one for me. So I bought one ( SEBO Felix premium). I got a great deal at a price I couldn't pass up, that included a 3 piece accessory kit ( a $100 kit). This vacuum comes with a 10 year warranty! No other vacuum I've researched offers that. The people at this store are so helpful. If one person didn't know an answer to my questions another stepped in and worked to find out the answer. I never was treated like a $ profit buyer. Don't go to another store before buying a vacuum without comparing Moore's first. You'll be presently surprised. I've had my vacuum for a month and I'm So happy with it. The replacement bags are so low priced and so easily replaced. The brush also is easily cleaned. Evaluate this vacuum you'll buy it! Love this place. A few months ago I purchased a machine here. I knew little of the different brands. I was very pleased because the guy did not try to sell me the most expensive machine. I told him what I typically sew and he directed me to a middle of the line machine. I love my machine. I went in yesterday with the machine thinking it needed repair. I was helped by 2 people who showed me that nothing was wrong with the machine but that I was using the wrong thread for embroidery. Very honest people. Love this place read more

Dropped off our vacuum for the advertised cleaning special, as well as a repair for the locking mechanism. Was told two weeks max. After three weeks, I called and was told it would be in that week. I called again, and was put on hold, and told I would get a call back. I guess it was sent out to their main location and nobody bothered to work on it. One more week goes by, and it gets sent back to the Orange location, without being fixed. The part never came in, and they just sent it back. Paid the $19.99 cleaning fee, and got back the broken vacuum. Total waste of time, and money. read more

I am so glad that I purchased (and have kept up) the Customer Protection Package for my Innovis 4000-D embroidery/sewing machine - as well as for my Quattro and my Babylock serger. Whenever there's a grumble or growl from my machines, back to the shop they go, and home again they come, making lovely stitches and purring like a kitten! BUT I cannot and will not forget the lovely people at the Orange store. Karen, Karen, and Aaron are so helpful and so much fun to work with! Today Karen insisted on hooking up all the parts and sewing out a pattern before I left to make sure that all was well and wouldn't need to make a return trip. I have been a customer of Moore's for over 8 years, dealing with this location most often (i sometimes stop at its other locations too). I love this store and I love the people who work there and the owner who makes every effort to make the customer experience the best shopping experience ever! I have most recently recommended a couple family member to this store and all of them have raived about their machines, shopping experience and free classes that George offers with the purchase of a class. In the last 3 months my family and I have purchased 4 machines from this store. We have worked with both Cindy and Tommy who helped us on separate occassions. I recently purchased my machine from Tommy over the weekend and he has been absolutely wonderful. I went in on Monday with a question on using my new machine and he did a great job helping me and has follow up with me on my issue. I could not be happier. After years without sewing, my daughter decided to sew a quilt for her and her new husband. So she hauled out her hand-me-down 40 year old Sears Kenmore sewing machine but couldn't get it to sew properly. I checked on-line and found Moore's in Orange had good ratings, and took her machine there this morning to get it repaired. I was greeted when I walked in by a young woman who offered to take a look at the machine to see what might be wrong with it. Within 5 minutes she determined what the problem was and with a twist of a tiny screwdriver set things right. She ran through a few lines of stitches to make sure everything was now performing as desired. She also noted that the thread my daughter was using wasn't the best and recommended she switch to a higher quality one- especially for a keepsake like a quilt. With a smile she said "Success! That saved you from paying for a service charge to get it repaired. If your daughter has any more problems just bring it back and we'll take another look at it for her." When I asked what I owed her, she said it was no charge. I then asked about thread and she showed me the racks of threads they recommend and I bought 3 rolls to make sure my daughter's project would go well. What a great experience! read more

I took my first sewing class for my recently purchased PFAFF sewing and embroidery machine. These classes are free! The instructor Mary was very patient and taught us the technique of perfect embroidery placement. I really was impressed with how patient she was with the four of us! I was bored being stuck at home for yet another day. I decided to clean my vacuum. I then decided to REALLY clean my vacuum and get into places not intended for the average, well, me. Anyway, I got the thing all taken apart, extremely clean and then it was time to put it back together. There was one slight problem. The seal in the "professionals only" section wouldn't stay where it belonged. I tried and tried, but couldn't get it back in it's happy place. So, I called Moore's to see if they were open for servicing vacuums that had been tampered with. After I explained my self-imposed predicament, Manny was extremely helpful. He said they were sending vacuums out for servicing, but that he would be willing to take a look at it and see what needed to be done. He gave me an appointment first thing the next morning, I called when I arrived and he came out to my car (being considerate and wearing a mask)and took my vacuum parts inside to see what ccould be done. He tried for about 20 minutes to get the seal to stay where it belonged. When he was about ready to give up, he got it to stay and brought it back out to me at my car. He then reassembled the rest of the vacuum canister and sent me on my way. NO CHARGE! I couldn't believe it. I know they can't be free every time, so don't expect that, but that was so generous and unexpected. I will definitely use Moore's every time I have a vacuum problem. I brought a friend to buy her first machine here. She has been borrowing one of mine and has decided that quilting is for her. This was the 2nd shop we stopped in as she was test driving different models. The sales woman was helpful and not pushing for a sale, she wanted a fit to the customer. My friend had decided on must have features that were met by several models and was able to make an informed choice. We brought in sample fabric to try with each machine to see how it would handle piecing and quilting and we were offered the chance to try everything in my friends price range. She ended up spending 30% less than she had planned and got some additional features that made the sale easy. read more

I got a Brother sewing machine for Christmas and had never learned how to properly use it. I finally was able to sign up for a class and I am so sorry I waited so long. I had a good, basic class by a really nice instructor, Mary Yoder, who was very friendly and helpful. The class was almost all day but at least it got you started and you can come back as much as you like. The best thing? The classes were free! I learned enough to get me started and I know I can come back whenever I need to. It was easy signing up, I just called up and they were able to get me into a class for my specific type of sewing machine and they offer so much more. A treasure for those of us who are a defiant breed who still want to continue to sew. read more

Bill was very professional and not only serviced the machine but taught me so much about my machine. Was very impressed with the service call and the extra time Bill took to help me. I'm sorry others feel this is a good store. I bought my sewing machine, Innovis 4000D about 7 years ago, and at the time my Hubby paid for the $600 "service plan" with a very expensive machine. I got the machine in regularly for service. When the service plan expired, we still took it in for cleaning, but the "sales" pitches started for a new machine. 3 1/2weeks ago I took it in for a cleaning mentioning that it sounded funny and wasn't sewing quite right. Two weeks later (after I called them) I picked it up and it didn't work at all! (After $299!) I took it back, and they sent it out again. Supposedly on a rush. A few days later I got a call from service asking what was wrong....I explained and he said ok. I got it back a week later and took it home. It still doesn't work. The work order that came with the machine said "Technique is the main issue..." I am sorry but I have been sewing for over 50 years. I have been quilting on a semi-professional level for over 15 years. My technique is fine....the machine needs to pick up the bobbin thread! I have now taken it to an independent service man and he agreed...it is not working and "technique" or not it should be picking up the bobbin thread and it sounded "dry". It only sewed a straight line but when the feed dogs were dropped for quilting....it wouldn't work. Their gimmick is to sell machines and service plans and then sell you a newer machine. Sewing machines are not cars and do not have a finite life. I am furious! read more

I went in to this location to arrange for the free classes when you purchase a machine from them, I even bought a laptop so I could take it to class to run the embroidery portion of the machine. I left my info at the store to contact me when they have enough people for the class. No one ever called me. That was 4 years ago. The laptop is about to die. I also signed up for email for classes schedule. The emails are just ads for new product. I go on the website last week which is archaic to say the least. Again I leave the info(at least this time I could print it out) and they will call you. I put in for Mission Viejo this time. Got called and laughed at like it was my fault I had not taken the class("we have been here" )putting her foot in her mouth, then I told her what happened in Orange years ago. So I went back on the website today and again put my info for all 3 OC store locations just in case others are also waiting for a class. People seem to be "nice" but clueless or they just don't care. Being nice does not get it done. How about follow through-doing what you promised? Also had a bad experience in Huntington Beach. I bought a serger. I sewed 3 garments, then it wouldnt sew. Brought it into Huntington Beach which was near my home at the time, the 'repair' guy there was extremely rude. He told me that such & such a part is broken and gave me a spiel to buy a new machine! I told him I had spent $900 on this one and sewed 3 things why should I buy another machine? He got up and left. I stood there and a woman asked if she could help me. I said yeah tell me if you plan on helping me with my machine. I spent $99, no part was listed on the receipt and the machine still doesn;t work. Dont buy a Pfaff Dont buy from Moore's read more

As a new customer, or as an old customer you will be made to feel like a Moore's family member. Every time you walk into the store you will be greeted warmly by friendly, by knowledgeable associates. For the customers who have made Moore's of Orange part of their family they know you by name. It will not take you but one visit to feel right at home at Moore's. Karen's team is new, and has an expansive knowledge of their machines. The associates are patient and willing to answer any and all questions. The store is always very clean, organized, and gives off a very comfortable, and inviting vibe. All levels from beginners to experts in quilting or embroidering, there is always someone to answer your questions and to help you. Moore's of Orange offers a variety of classes. The instructors are experienced, and they have so much fun showing new techniques in all of their classes. The instructors are familiar with all the sewing and embroidery machines. Customer service is hit or miss here. Some of the staff is amazing but those couple sucky ones really kill it for me. The worst was one lady I had to pretty much chase her down and keep asking her questions to find out what sewing machine foot I needed to do something. Thank god for YouTube! Her answer for everything was "oh u don't know how those work" well jeez learn your business! The 2nd worse it wasn't really her fault but common sense should've told her better. I brought my hubby (and toddler) in with me since I was wanting to spend a couple thousand on a machine. Well the sales lady to try and distract my toddler, while she pushed her sales pitch, handed her a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal. JEEZ! What toddler is going to give back a toy without a complete meltdown?!? Common sense! We had her handled perfectly fine but she just had to hand her a toy and tell her she could "borrow" it. So glad I found this store. I have been coming here for several years now. I have worked mostly with Aron, and lately with Adolfo. They are wonderful, and literally bend over backwards for you. I have a used Quattro 6000D, with the CPP (warranty). Just want to say that the CPP is so worth it, so do get it if you can I have an online business which is doing quite well, and having so much fun digitizing and embroidering. Aron is really technical and knowledgeable, and his enthusiasm is contagious :) I hope someday to get a 10 needle, which of course I will buy at this store when the time is right. read more

Great service. Was having a problem with my Brother sewing machine - needle assembly kept falling off. Brought my machine in at 10 minutes before closing and the man looked at it right away and was able to tighten a TINY screw for me and "whala " - my machine was working again. Wouldn't charge me anything! Will definitely go to them when I want to buy another sewing machine or vacuum cleaner. While there, noticed that they also offer sewing classes. He was also very nice to another customer who was having some trouble with her machine. I left with a very good impression AND my machine worked and I was able to continue with my sewing project. I have gone to Moore's for over 5 years. Was very happy with the service for both my Pfaff and Brother sewing machines. In March of this year I took my Pfaff in for it's annual cleaning, no problems other then the light bulb needed to be replaced. They replaced the bulb, which looked different to me. When I started to sew on the machine the whole head of the machine heated up and was extremely hot to the touch, even the needle! I took the machine back in and the sales lady looked at it and said that it was the wrong bulb. She was able to get the bulb out and we found that the service people had put a 25 W bulb in the spot clearly marked 15 W only. I took the machine home and then found that none of the electronics in the panel on the front worked. Back to the shop! I got it back for the 3rd time, home and then found that while some of the electronics worked not all of them did. So back to the shop for the 4th visit and off to the repair shop. I got a call from Bill in the repair shop saying he couldn't find anything wrong...we went through the story and he said he would double check it. I then went back to pick up the machine, found they had replaced the electronic panel on the front of the machine but....it wasn't even attached correctly and the electronics that weren't working before are still not working...so back to the repair shop for the 5th visit! I go to pick the machine up again next week (I try to time it with other things I have to do in the area because it is a 30 mile round trip) and am hoping that this time it is right. Haven't been able to sew for 4 months because of this! While they do continue to work on trying to get it right, I would think after the 3rd or 4th visit someone in management would want to keep an eye on this and make sure it is right...I went to pick up the machine and even I could tell that the panel hadn't been attached correctly. Does not speak well for the quality control of the repair department. I was almost in tears when I looked at my machine and could see that once again it had to go back to the repair shop for them to fix something that should not have even been a problem. Before I start, notice that almost all their 5 star ratings are not from the general area of Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel etc. They are a 5 star rating from as far as Norco!!! The low ratings are from people like me that actually live in this area. That alone should give you an idea. I feel like I just got jipped for the TSP program they have for Miele Vacuum cleaners. I paid $99 and got a vacuum tune up and 3 boxesMiele vacuum bags. They say the tune up itself is over $100 so this was a really good deal. Ok, sounded good. Then I got a coupon from ValPak in the mail and the tune up on it said Reg. 39.99 with the coupon $19.99. So I called Moore's and asked how much a tune up would be for my Miele vacuum cleaner. The lady that answered the phone said that they can't give me a price over the phone bec. they have to see the vac and open it up before they can give me a price. I pressed a little more and said just the basic tune up, and she said the same thing only very irritated and said: "Understand?" Quite rude and shady. NO, I'm not bringing my business here anymore. Yeesh! Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

I walked in to get my Brother sewing machine serviced. The woman who I spoke with wasn't the service person but she let me know he wasn't there at the store and that the machine would be sent out. She then told me the cost is $199. I asked if it depended on what was wrong with it because I didn't even say what the issue was. I then asked about just a tune up and she told me that the $199 was for the tune up. I guess they feel they need to over charge because that place is always empty and dead. So I asked how long it would take and she told me 6 WEEKS. Now I dont have a state of the art, top of the line machine. I could have just went and bought a new one for the same price. And I know for a fact it is niether that pricey nor that time consuming to fix something small on a sewing machine. But Its funny to me how she thought just because I was a young woman that I didn't know any better. If people actually come here to pay a couple hundred dollars to get something small fixed, then they are fools. Their loyal customers are the ones who dont't know any better and I feel sorry for them. I ended up going somewhere else who WASN'T a Brother authorized dealer and they fixed it for $30 and only took 3 days. And it works wonderfully. I gave Moore's 1 star because if I dont feel like waiting for a cheaper part online I just come here and over pay for conveinence. read more
