It was a beautiful day the atmosphere was laid back and drinks were beyond reasonably priced. You do pay a $5 cover to get in and the buy a token to get a drink. I am guessing there is some dated city law forbidding them from selling alcohol outside, bypassed by selling a token not alcohol. It ends up being $5 a token which will get you your choice of beer or sangria. Dogs are welcome as well. Little tip, if you are just looking to enjoy the music and don't want to have a beer or a glass of wine. You can sit across the creek and hear it just fine. Several people were doing this! But really worth the time to go, great location, great time! All the little events like this that happen in Downtown Frederick really is what makes it so fun and lends to real feel of community.

This was my first visit, and the classic décor immediately set the tone for a charming experience. The venue is small enough that every seat feels close to the stage. From the mezzanine, we had an excellent view and clear sound. The sold-out matinee of The Nutcracker was wonderfully performed and well choreographed, especially impressive in a more intimate space. Seats were comfortable, though legroom is a bit tight--but manageable for a two-hour show with intermission. A side exit conveniently connects to a nearby parking garage, which was a nice surprise. I'd happily return for future performances and gladly spend more time exploring the downtown area.

You go down the steps into a basement (hence the name) to get inside, plenty of free street parking right outside. Loved the cozy intimate atmosphere which makes it easy to meet folks. The two lovely ladies bartending were wonderful- friendly, polite and prompt with the service. To my pleasant surprise they actually had henny there. Didn't get to try the food yet but sure will sometime, heard it was good. Cocktail menu was decent. Just know on show nights they close the kitchen a little earlier. Will deff be back!

We sat right away. We had amazing crabs and the hush puppies were also very good. Last but not least the service was incredible. Our server Ben was attentive and personable, which is appreciated. Pricing was as expected for crabs. Atmosphere is more a bar than restaurant so probably not for young kids, but you know that going in. Still a friendly place and will definitely be going back.

Not great, not terrible -- average. For me, sitting at the bar is better than at a table: better service and conversation with others. Same food, average seafood with typical sides. If the food was a notch better: I'd come more than once a year. I find Mays, Liberty Seafood and Avery's roughly the same, with Mays having the edge over the others (quieter too). For just crabs: order takeaway from Westpointe. For bulking up on food: Avery's. I actually enjoy eating at Avery's -- but it could be so much better if they improved the sides and service. Still, I do come once a year -- contrasted to: I visit several other restaurants at least twice a month ...and get better quality seafood dishes (at a marginally higher price). Just saying...
