4.5 Stars Pros- Food was fresh and good! Priced nicely, wont break your bank. Service was perfect. Cons- No wet naps? Your serving wings and ribs, gimme wet naps please. Who knew Anchor was is in Frederick? We didn't. My wife, a Buffalonian born and raised and we've both been to the original Anchor Bar in Buffalo dozens of times so we had to check this location out. In the door we noticed the place was clean and had a very warm and cozy vibe but had a sports bar atmosphere with plenty on TV's to watch a sport of your choice. The staff was super friendly and the menu has all your favorites. Our server was Nicole who was actually amazing in every way, very sweet and attentive to whatever we wanted. We ordered a small pizza, The special which was ribs and a side, we chose Cole Slaw and of course wings (Original). The pizza was very good, had Cup n Char Pepperoni which is what I expect from a Buffalo bar/resteraunt. The only thing is it could have stayed on the brick another minute or so to crisp up the bottom more. The Ribs were dynamite, perfectly cooked with a slight char on the bottom. They were fall off the bone with an amazing smoke flavor. The Cole Slaw was awesomeness as its how we like it, sweet and creamy. Now, drum roll, the wings, cooked wonderfully to be juicy and saucy but...yes but, could have been a little crispier but, they were great. We live 50 minutes away and will travel to come back. Great job.

Stopped at Anchor Bar for late night bite and drinks after running errands. We wanted something low key, and glad we decided to stop check them out. We got there around 830pm and they were pretty busy. We grabbed two seats at the end of the bar and we're greeted by the bartender pretty quickly. I opted for a long island, which is very unlike me, but I really enjoyed it. Since we weren't really hungry we ordered and shared the buffalo chicken nachos. They were pretty good, but could've used a few more chips since there was still a lot of queso left. They seem to have a lot of options on their menu, so i definitely plan to stop by again and order their pizza or one of their sandwiches. Anchor Bar is a sports bar and im sure they get pretty busy during football season. But I can see why a lot of the locals enjoy it. Overall, good experience and would definitely go back.

We really, really like this place. We've been twice and both times it had a great, high energy atmosphere. There seem to be several locals that tend to hang out at the bar, but that doesn't prevent the wait staff from being attentive to everyone else. The pizza is really good and they're obviously known for their wings. The wings, both boneless and traditional, live up to the hype. It's a great sports bar, with plenty of TVs in the bar area and the dining room area. We met the owners on one of our visits and they really seem to take pride in the place. I can't wait until we go back!

We were craving these wings and came back. Although they were busy, we didn't wait very long to be served and receive our food. The outdoor patio is gorgeous on a warm spring day! Highly recommend.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was good but not the greatest. Crab dip was overly salty and overpriced. Meat pizza was very greasy which is understandable but ruined any chance of tasting the cheese or sauce. Fried pickles were inconsistent, some were cold, others were hot. Overall seemed like a decent place but definitely expensive for what it is.

Wings were raw... again. So freaking gross. Rubbery and gross. Friends got food poisoning from Anchor Bar before from eatting raw wings, but we gave it another try. I ate one and hope I don't get sick. I will never order wings again from Anchor Bar. As a side note, the wings also had zero sauce on it. Seen that happen nearly everytime we've gone. Had to ask for a little side of it, but ended up not eatting them even though we paid for them. They only comped our friends. The burgers were also all over cooked and the crab pretzel wasn't great. I doubt we go back. Before the wing complaint when we asked for ketchup the waitress got annoyed and listed out other items we should ask for at that time. The worst part is one of us asked for the manager who was only a few feet away but couldnt be bothered and that is crap customer service. I would avoid this restaurant.

I was alittle skeptical because they were a chain restaurant but they win best wings of Frederick year after year so I thought I'd give em a shot. I was pleasantly surprised they were actually pretty good! Not many places can't get dry rub down and theirs were pretty good! The wings are a decent size and cooked well but they are pretty expensive I got a bucket of 50 and after tax it was around $75. The service was fast so I would probably come back but I do believe there is better wing places in town.

I'm a Buffalo Bills fan by birth so naturally I gravitated to the Anchor bar and the perfection of the interior decor but seriously... love coming here for football and other sports. Food is delicious (I love the old bay wings and the drunken muscles). It can get a little noisy here but it's a fun vibe. Service can be a little sluggish during game day but worth it!

Anchor Bar is a great addition to Frederick and I hope it sticks. Their wings are absolutely the best and their happy hours are great. The service has always been good and this visit was no different. The live music they have on certain days adds to the experience. Full disclosure I love wings but the other offerings are just as flavorful and tasty.

What are their Covid-19 practices? I looked on their website and nothing was mentioned.

They conform to CDC guidelines. We could only eat outside, but not sure if that has changed.

I had driven two hours and was hungry, but I was also committed to making good decisions. Or at least mostly good decisions... The hostess offered me a seat at the second-floor bar rather than the quoted 25-30 minute wait. Great! Solo diners love surprise upgrades. Unfortunately, when I got upstairs, the one "available" seat had apparently been claimed by a diaper bag and a giant straw sunhat belonging to the woman sitting next to it holding a too-little-to-walk baby sitting at the bar. Uhhh...this isn't going to work. Back downstairs I went. I gave them my name and number, found a shady spot outside, and settled in for what I assumed would be a long wait. Five minutes later, my table was ready. Thank you, Universe! My server greeted me with water immediately, explained the QR code menu situation, and told me not to order through the app because she'd be right back. No worries, friend. I'd already done my homework. I knew exactly what I wanted. One Martha Stewart's Prison Pizza ($22), please. (Sausage, broccoli, ricotta, Calabrian chili peppers, lemon oil, and sea salt.) I asked for the chili peppers on the side because I know myself. I like adventure. I don't enjoy possibly setting my mouth on fire. And a Diet Pepsi ($3.50), because balance. While I waited, I people-watched, which is one of my favorite hobbies. White Rabbit was PACKED. The patio was full. The downstairs bar was full. Upstairs was full. Couples, groups of girlfriends, older folks, younger folks, families, solo diners...everyone seemed happy to be there. The place itself is pretty small, which explains the wait. Six tables downstairs, maybe eight bar seats, more seating upstairs, and a constant dance of servers carrying food through the same front door customers use. Add the "please wait to be seated" crowd gathering in the narrow hallway and I'd describe things as organized chaos. But once I was seated, I was perfectly comfortable and out of the traffic pattern. One cool touch I noticed: outlets and USB ports built right into the front of the bar. Maybe that's common and I've somehow missed it all these years, but I thought it was pretty neat. Then my pizza arrived. Oh good lawd. OH. GOOD. LAWD. This pizza was SO GOOD! I knew from the first bite that I was in trouble. There was no sauce, which surprised me at first, but after approximately three seconds I no longer cared. The sausage was plentiful. The broccoli added texture. The ricotta was creamy and rich. And that lemon oil?! That lemon oil set it off! Everything just worked together perfectly. The Calabrian peppers arrived on the side exactly as requested. I bravely sampled a very small amount on my fork before desecrating my pizza and quickly determined that folks with stronger heat tolerance than me will absolutely love them. They were just a little too spicy for my delicate tastebuds. Thankfully, the pizza was incredible without them. And those slices? MONSTERS. I ate one and seriously contemplated a second before reminding myself that I had dessert plans elsewhere. A box was requested. Self-control was exercised. Barely. As a solo diner, I also want to give White Rabbit extra points. Multiple staff members checked on me throughout the meal. I never felt forgotten, rushed, or weird sitting by myself. Everyone was warm, kind, and made me feel completely comfortable. I really appreciated that. My total bill came to $32.44 including tip which felt really reasonable given the amount of pizza I consumed and brought home. Worth every penny. I'm already scheming my next two-hour drive back. Maybe a smashburger. Maybe those Brussels sprouts everyone keeps raving about. Maybe another pizza. Maybe all of it! I highly recommend checking out White Rabbit. Make it a destination, not just a stop while you're in the area. Don't let the size of the place or the wait scare you off. It's totally worth it. PRO TIP: If you park in the Church Street Parking Garage, look for the staircase labeled "STAIR 3." White Rabbit is literally right outside the door at the bottom. No hide-and-seek required!

I'm not the type to start shit with someone who's working, I'm incredibly respectful to those on the clock, but I'm also not going to let someone rag on me. My two friends and I (25 years old each) were at this bar a few years ago, and the experience stuck with me so I'm posting the review now. My one friend was in the bathroom, and another had left a beer bottle on a pool table. Bad guy, for sure we screwed up there, someone came over and told us to move it and we did. So I go to the bar to get a beer, and I hear one of the waitresses calling us stupid and ridiculous for the beer bottle incident. I was like "whoa, actually that's my table and you should be careful when talking about customers... especially if you're right in front of them" and it was a really embarrassing incident. From there, I tell my friend at the pool table what happened and the owner (apparently) who was very drunk, overhears and starts yelling at us for initially having the beer on the pool table. Obviously, at this point, we'd moved past that and were more bothered at the waitress calling us names, so I tried to explain my point and she kept bringing it back to "you all don't pay for it, you have no respect, yada yada" -- and mind you, despite my age, I work in customer service. I excel in conflict mitigation, I was talking her down and she was not having any of it. She threatened to have some strong man beat my ass, she said we have no respect, she didn't hear my point at all and she had a posse of older people who were also blindly backing her up. Frankly, I should've called the cops because I'd never been threatened in my life, I'm not that kind of person. I really tried to bring this conflict to a resolution, and we had like 4 people all screaming at us that night just because I had the gall to tell my friends that the bartenders were talking shit about us. It was an awful experience and I recommend that, to anyone who might accidentally break a rule, really avoid this place. For the record, we still paid our tab and tipped the bartender/waiter (which I've been using both words to describe one person, whoops.) even though that'd ruined the night. We weren't rowdier than anyone else, weren't being loud or disrespectful, but they engaged in a screaming match with us and felt the need to stand their ground WITHOUT HEARING WHAT WE WERE EVEN CONCERNED ABOUT. We weren't arguing to keep the beer on the pool table, we didn't want to be disrespected about it AFTER we'd already corrected the situation, but that (to the owners) was worth SCREAMING AT AND BERATING their own customers over. Absolutely awful experience. Trashy owners 100% ruined it, hope their hubris leads their business to ruin. PS: I've never been called "privileged" and I literally laughed in the context of it. I calmly ask the owner lady, in the middle of screaming at us with her friend, to please calm down so we can explain our side to a rational person. And out of left field she says "you know how PRIVILEGED you sound??" I come from a very poor background. My stepdad was a plumber and my mom was mentally ill and couldn't work. We didn't have money, I grew up around this kind of trashiness and I know how to deal with it, just never dealt with it as the owner of a pub with a chip on their shoulder. It wasn't an "oh we owned the rich kid and now he's complaining on yelp" moment, it was just a hostile drunk woman harassing some younger men having fun at her bar. It was atrocious. We walked away from the situation to try to salvage the night and after a few minutes, laughed about it saying "that was so crazy" and apparently she was still hovering around us, listening, cuz she comes out of nowhere and says "IM NOT CRAZY" -- just to show she's still listening to us. At that point we knew we had to leave. She'd effectively chased us out because we didn't want to be disrespected over a little mistake on our part. Mind you, it wasn't my friend's mistake, not even mine, yet I faced the brunt of her criticism. Owners to a bar should have more decorum, this was just pathetic. I never speak out about these kinds of things, but this was really awful, I woke up today, years after the incident and said "no, people need to know." I'd never been so targeted, so maybe I am privileged, or maybe I just follow the rules and do everything I should and these people are outwardly more irresponsible, getting hammered on the clock and fighting patrons without stopping to hear what they're even upset about, than any business owner should be. The food was good though I mean, just keep your head down and be good for the owners if you're not ordering takeout I guess. Any amount of 'acting out' and they'll seek muscle man on your ass like they did to me.
