I've been there for a couple events. Staff is nice. Service is good. When there is food it's cooked perfectly

The Good: *Received a deal thru chase points *Hiking trails located on the property made it easy to plan a relaxing weekend without needing to drive. I enjoyed both trails, the redwoods were beautiful and healing. It would probably be good for corporate/team building excursions, especially with the ropes course, but that would require extra reservations. We walked by the ropes course on our hike but its normally closed without staff to facilitate. *Spa facilities were great (included steam room, sauna, and 3 hot tubs on the property. the gym was also quite large) There's a hot tub located in the spa area which also has a nice koi pond. locker rooms and showers are easy to use. *Check in is early at 4pm, and I was able to do a late checkout at 12pm. if you're only staying for one night, definitely come early so you can enjoy their spa facilities to the max. *2 large pools, one for adults and kids. the pool area in general is quite large with cabanas for lounging *beautiful more secluded property, with lots of open space *bathrobes provided in the room *courteous staff, especially the night security Victor was very attentive and accommodating. I would come back when he's working! *the smart temperature settings in my room was quite effective and easy to use. I liked the interface alot. *dog friendly! enjoyed greeting all the other pups staying on the property *nice indoor & outdoor lounge areas & outdoor sports available, like tennis & bocce ball *the view restaurant does boast live music during certain times The not so good: *the room facilities itself looked tired and outdated. the bathtub had black on the tiles *expected more extras included out this price point. Not much in terms of toiletries and coffee/tea, although the coffee machine was quite clean and new. *our "patio" didn't have any privacy because it overlooked the side of the pool and did not have any wall. So if we kept our patio screen curtains open, there was no privacy. *the room itself was also smaller than expected, for the price tag. *the View restaurant/bar closes at 9pm which seems quite early for an all inclusive bar. We opted for dinner out in Capitola (which was clearly the right choice) and I was hoping to come back and enjoy the hotel bar & view afterwards but everything was sadly closed. The nice security staff Victor came to pick me up in his golf cart and still allowed me to go outside for a bit just to sit and enjoy the view but it was dark with nothing to see, nothing to drink, and no one to socialize with. We came back the next day during the afternoon for a snack. The reviews said the view was better than the food, but tbh the view was also subpar imo. The restaurant is located on the top of a hill, which provides a good vantage point, but the view itself feels like the "back" of Santa cruz so it just wasn't much to look at. The nicer patio area of the outdoor restaurant area with lights and such was closed off for "private events" so I couldn't even take some nice photos there. The food was definitely not worth the prices, and service was quite slow. There was so much staff inside, but only one helping us sitting outside. *parking is $20 a night but they do have tesla chargers *the foodtruck next to the pool area was never open during our stay Overall, I would come back using my chase points, bring a pup with me, opt for a room with more privacy, and probably spend half my time at the spa.

They let us know about the amenities (pools and hot tubs) , their restaurant and bar and other activities for the weekend. We loved that after a day of hiking their golf cart drivers took us down and back to the private beach for sunset. You can rent a bonfire they tend for you with s'mores. We did not buy one but looked nice. We enjoyed breakfast at their restaurant and also one evening had a cocktail at their bar and there was live music which was very nice. The room had a gorgeous view of the ocean with a fireplace, a large closet, comfortable bed, with stocked and full kitchen. The negative :( Our bathroom , sadly it was very tiny and the shower head was horrible. The connection between shower and toilet was one door that barely fit in the space. Bathroom needs a remodel! The hotel owners- ( who are local, the daughter is a real estate agent ) don't care about the hotel. They NEVER work or eat there. They have just remodeled a perfectly good working pool. Why not invest in the FOOD??!! Many people get sick after eating here. I have stayed at the hotel 5 times over the past year, and it's EMBARRASSING how run down it is. At first I was confused and then I found out it's just two local women taking high paychecks each year, running the Hotel down into the ground, literally into the ground. If you want to stay at this hotel, it's actually not a hotel. It's the largest timeshare in Santa Cruz County.!!!!! Every single hotel room is a timeshare which equals run down hotel rooms, horrible amenities and a resort that is not a resort, but call itself a resort! There is no resort don't be fooled by the name!!!!!!!!!!!

The additional space would have been nice for two adults and their furry friend. It was still a great room with an awesome view of the dunes and water. Check in was terrific. The lobby is beautiful and stocked for a quick whatever you might want. There is a backyard behind the lobby that is sheltered from those pesky ocean breezes with firepit, tables, chairs and other stuff. Nice touch. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was very nice. Clean and let me say that the shower was fantastic. There is a heater/fan in the bathroom that made getting out of the shower, pleasantly warm. Toiletries are of nice quality. Our dog, Sian found the stick library very useful and she had a blast going after it on the beach and in the ocean. She even brought it back to the library the morning we left, for others to use during their stay. The pet welcome is a nice touch. This site is very pet friendly. Not so much for the timeshares that are on the same property. And that's fine. Parking is not allowed at the units. You are driven to your unit by one of the great golf cart drivers. Zach was our driver. Loaded all our luggage on to the the cart. As we journeyed to our cottage, Zach pointed out sites as well as amenities. Unloaded our luggage as wll as went and got us ice as we settled in. If you need help getting to your car, onsite restaurant or the lobby, just call the lobby about 10 minutes before you want to go and someone will be there. The restaurant is great. We ate there twice and had breakfast delivered to our unit twice. The bread platter... OMG... the bread platter. We loved it so much that we went to Otto's bakery in Salinas on our way out of town to bring it home with us. The restaurant is not open for breakfast but, at check in, you will get a room service menu that that's how you can have breakfast onsite. More on the restaurant in that review... Can't wait to go back. Have to say that overall, this is probably in our top 3 of vacation spots. Including Hawaii. It's just great.

We paid around $1,000 for one night, so I arrived excited and expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Many of the pet-friendly touches that influenced me to book were missing at check-in. There was no personalized dog welcome setup, no dog package, and my dog's name was not on the welcome sign until I called later. I had also requested a simple welcome card for my mother-in-law's first trip to California, and although staff said they would gladly do it, it was never done. We also had multiple room issues throughout the stay. The TV was not working, the phone buttons to reach the front desk did not work, there was no extra pillow for the fold-out bed, and there was even a leftover dog chew from a previous guest found in the bed. To be fair, the maintenance employee was kind and helpful, and the complimentary bottle of wine was appreciated. However, for this price point, the lack of attention to detail and overall service was really disappointing. What upset me most was checkout. I politely explained that I was disappointed and thought at minimum the pet fee might be removed, but there was no effort to make things right beyond emailing the receipt. Beautiful location, but the experience did not match the cost or reputation. I truly wanted to love this stay and left sad and let down instead.

It's not a super long drive from Fresno, and it was a quite enjoyable scenic drive. When you get there, you're greeted by a nice attendance at the front desk. They give you all the details on the center and then I headed over to the locker room to change. They have two sets of soaking tubs one set is where you have to have clothing on and the other one is ware clothing is optional. The one with the clothing required was full, so I decided to track over to the clothing optional part. For those I'd like to go in the nude the area is fenced off, so nobody can see inside, but I decided to go in in my swimsuit. It was a great relaxing time where I took time to read a book that I haven't been able to enjoy for a while. Since I had packed a lunch, I went to over one of the picnic tables that they had and enjoy my lunch. After lunch, I headed over to the regular pool again. It was a great temperature and soaked for a little bit, took in the sun and then headed on back home. This is a fantastic place if somebody wants to do a day trip. However, there are areas where you can camp out with cabins and I believe in airstream you can rent out. Highly recommend.

Immediately I knew I would love this place. The valets were great. The lobby staff were great. I was at the resort for two days and I swear I never touched a door to open. My room was ready early which was a bonus and the room. Again just great. Spacious. Ultra clean. All the amenities you could want. Fridge bar area. Fireplace. Sliding double doors to a private patio overlooking a fantastic golf course. Giant bathroom with separate soaking tub that was divine. I could review the golf all by itself. Super nice caddy Jack who it was a pleasure to spend the day working alongside and perfect weather because it can certainly get hot out there.
