Cold beer & Great wings. Stopped by after getting in from a late flight. Just what I was looking for.

Went here for lunch. This place really goes all out for Halloween. They were setting up a haunted maze for their evening customers. I had the Gypsy soup (fresh cut vegetable winter soup) and a chargrilled chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. Great service, easy in and out. Will definitely return. read more

Every single food item I have tried here is DELICIOUS, from the unbelievable fried cheese(bonus points for getting to choose between a few cheeses), to wings, to nachos. I've had grilled chicken sandwiches, pork chops, mashed potatoes, and a few other things & all of them are great. Great laid back atmosphere to eat at. read more

I can't understand why this place is even open. The bartender gave me a creepy vibe when he asked to see my ID. He asked me to state my age out loud in front of the room full of male patrons and then told me I looked very young. (Yes, I know, I am preserved under glass just like Stalin.) I asked for whisky sour and should have not even let it go that far. He put some whisky in (what kind?) and topped it with sour mix. Wtf! He was asking the other bar patrons how to make the drink. I had a sip and he asked me if it was strong enough. What a question! Plus, the whole place smelled like deep fryer and was dirty. I would not even think of getting food there. I can't even imagine what the ladies room looks like. It's ok to be a "dive bar" but at least be clean and know how tf to make drinks. It's on Montford. I expected more. Drank my $6.50 glass of sour mix and couldn't get out fast enough. I can't think of anything redeeming about this place. It was smelly and dirty. Clean your joint up. I would be embarrassed to bring my friends here. The patio looks really interesting and unique, but you won't catch me there. read more

Moosehead has the absolute best wings in Charlotte. No question! They have several amazing flavors. I currently love the Killer Bee! You can also enjoy some nachos with the delicious queso they have or delightful fish tacos. Fries, onion rings and Mac & cheese are my favorite sides I always want all three! At lunch time they do a lunch special with an entree and side. Drinks are reasonably priced and staff is super helpful. If you love American bar food the way I do this place won't disappoint! read more

Wow....Moosehead Grill.....This has got to be one of my favorite places in all of Charlotte. Found this place on a whim and I've been going back for the past 3 years. The space is kind of dive bar-y, and the decorations are hilarious. Giant moose heads and Sesame Street lol. Drinks are cheap and delicious. Always go for the large for $1 more. Shots are fun too. The staff is always very chill. But the best part about this place is the CHICKEN WINGS!!!! Holy moly!! By far some of the best chicken wings I've ever had in MY LIFE! I have literally tried every flavor on the menu. My Top 3 are: Uncle Doonies, Bee Sting, and Sriracha done gotcha. TBH though all flavors are awesome. Beware of the Carolina Reaper because IT IS VERY SPICY AND WILL BURN YOUR FACE! Seriously, I'm Indian and thought it as spicy as **** But delicious none the less. Never again! If I could give negative stars I would! Walked in, I was greeted by ABSOLUTELY no one. There were no tables in sight but if there were, the waiters all look at you like you're and outsider and just maybe you'll get the hint like you're not wanted there and will leave. Went in last night for my weekly fill. As always, the specials menu was FANTASTIC. I opted for the blackened wings, per the usual, I love them dearly but my friend got the shrimp and chicken fajitas which were amazing. Our waitress Lori was prompt, efficient and super friendly. The owner was in and made sure to stop by our table, as always, to ensure we were happy and everything was up to par, which it always is. They even repainted the bathrooms, which was a nice touch though I do love a little bathroom banter. I'll be back next week....and the next after that! read more

When I turned 13 my parents took me to this place, the pizza was good, but it was a pizza hut. When I turned 21 I passed out at the bar. I think this happened a couple more times before I was 23. I used to put my chill down here a lot. Good people, good food, good times. On weekends you can usually leave with a good story to tell. read more

Don't let this shabby dive-bar fool you; it has some of the best bar food in Charlotte! I'll repeat, it is a dive bar. The bathroom is not well kept, the floor doesn't look pristine, the service isn't always 100% and there will most likely be inebriated college-aged students stumbling around. But that's the charm, right? It's located on Montford Drive, a popular nightlife area in South Park, across from 10 Park Lanes and if you have been on Montford late night, you know what to except. Parking is usually iffy, Mooseheads has their own small private lot but don't expect to score a spot. Keep an eye out along the road or park in the bowling alley across the street. It has a smallish interior with seating booth and table seating and a large bar in the center. There are also 2 oddly arranged outdoor patios and an area with bar games. The menu is pretty straightforward: burgers, wings, potato skins, sandwiches, fried cheese, quesadillas, nachos etc. They are most known for their wings, most notably, the bee stings. They also have specials you wouldn't expect from a dive bar: blackened mahi mahi, salmon etouffee, stuffed pork and more--you never know what head chef, "G-man" is going to be whipping up. I recommend the bee sting wings, nachos and whatever specials are available for the night. I have never had an issue with service, even on busy nights. They may not be the most talkative, helpful and attentive servers you have ever had but again this is a dive bar on Montford Drive. If you like bar food, especially wings, give this place a try and don't be afraid to order a special. Keep in mind Mooseheads is located in possibly the busiest late night entertainment district in Charlotte . Take it for what it is rather than trying to compare it to other places and I do not think you will be disappointed. read more

Service enthusiastic but scattered and lacking. Food was under seasoned if seasoned at all, price points decent. Bar was good but felt like 90% regulars. The food felt like bar-food but for a Montford drive hotspot, you could do better. My recommendation, go with a group of guys, become a regular, or walk a little further on Montford. read more

Stopped in on a road trip, and wish I would have went to McDonalds. Everyone was rude to me, I had to wait for 15 minutes just to get my drink, and the burger was absolutely tasteless. I will never stop here again, and I recommend everyone stay away. read more

Delicious food in a great location!! The drink selection is also great. We sat outside on the patio and were able to watch college football while eating. The service was pretty good, did seem a little slow and not sure if we were forgotten about or if the server was simply busy with other tables inside. 3 years later and this still our favorite spot for beer and wings. The sirloin chili nachos are the amazing. I've found out that you can order them in half sizes too. I always get the Donnie's blackened wings and my husband always gets the Killer Bees. The Thai PB&J are amazing too. The service is always impeccable no matter how busy it is. So I was told by an acquaintance that this place had "the best wings in Charlotte". I thought cool, let's go get some wings. I was working so I tried to call ahead to place a to go order. Called repeatedly for about 7 minutes on the way there and no one ever answered. Then I get there and place my order. One dozen of their "famous blackened wings". Total comes up to slightly more than I was expecting based on the internet menu. Whatever. Didn't wait long, maybe 5 minutes. Bartender gives me my bag, and I leave. Get to a spot where I can eat in peace and I open the box to find out that I didn't receive a dozen wings, I received 10. What the hell? I eat the wings, and they are not terrible but they are far from the best, anywhere. Will not return. read more

Best wings in Charlotte. They have several unique styles. Bee Sting are sweet and have a bite. No one can touch their Buffalo wings, my favorite. Also try the Buffalo Shrimp, they are great for sharing. Uncle Donny's blackened wings will not disappoint. I have tried a couple of styles of the nachos Moosehead serves and the Yard Bird Nachos are my favorite. You can order a 1/2 serving which is a meal for one or a full order to share with up to four (my opinion). Moosehead offers a variety of beers on tap and their music selection is ALWAYS great. Bartenders and servers are always attentive. Yes there are plenty of choices in Charlotte for wings but Moosehead Grille is the best. read more

This is a great dive bar/restaurant. Went there for the first time for lunch. Good patio, no/short wait. I had the best French dip of my life there. Seriously, so amazing. Solidly good onion rings.
