Always my favorite location for the Cousins subs. Great service and consistently excellent food. This location was among the recent upgraded restaurants so it's also nice to see. We always have a great experience with this Cousins and have gotten many subs from here over the years. There is a older lady that has always been so nice, and was just as nice this time around. The lobby wasn't open this time, so we had to go through the drive-thru to pick up our order, which was a bit inconvenient. They were working very quickly in there, however, and it went by fairly quick. We got a few subs and a salad and everything was very fresh and tasted really good! Looking forward to being back in the area so we can get these subs again! In terms of location, it is in a little bit of a tough spot off the busy road. It may take some time to get out of the lot after due to the busy traffic, so just an FYI. read more

Good food(in the past), but terrible service. I walked up 5 mins before closing, and the guy actually told me to F off. He was cleaning the floor, and probably closed up 20-30 mins before closing time. I am guessing he was some college student, but they really need to get their staff trained better. No one even opened the drive thru window once to take our payment so we finally left. Girl in the drive thru window stood there looking like she was making other orders (drinks we didn't order). First visit to Cousins. Very similar to any other sub shop. Kind of feel like a no frills version of another popular food chain. The presentation of the sandwich was interesting. I ordered a 15" sub and the norm for me is a long Cylinder style shape of a Sandwich. This however was 2 separate 7.5" sandwiches. A little odd. But whatever. The Turkey is a little bland I can see either a Smokey or mesquite option would be a nice add as a customer recommendation. Cheese. Similar to the Turkey. The hot pepper spread is a bit of fiction as to the "hot" isn't exactly hot. It's more of a pickled pepper. All in all it was an okay sandwich. Great subs and great rewards program. Got a BOGO offer just for signing up and I'm obsessed with their steak and braut sub. Price is fair but their fries were always mediocre at best. When I go for pickup they usually start making the fries when I get their which makes sense to maintain crisp to it but I'd also like to have the order ready even when I'm 5 mins late to the set appointment. They practice social distancing to the best of their ability and can get pretty busy during lunch hour. Never tried the drive through but I'd imagine more than 2 car queues would be a fair waiting game. read more

Service was good but O.M.G., so expensive for below average food at best. I got a 7.5 inch pepperoni melt. There wasn't much meat and the bread was average. I made it a "meal" but that doesn't get you anything any cheaper, it just means you are buying fries and a drink. Total price: $14.53. So overpriced and not very good. I've never been to a Cousins before. As a matter of fact, I'm just biding time until my oil change is completed next door at tires plus. The two dudes working right now are amazing. Professional, polite, knowledgeable, and kind. As someone who works with college age kids, I lose my faith in the future of humanity quite frequently. These dudes make me believe in the future. Cousins Subs is a Madison tradition. Something I grew up with and therefore love even if it's not the greatest-- like Rocky Rococo pizza. Milio's cold subs are a little fresher tasting to me. Cousins does better on hot subs. A pepperoni melt hits the spot every time. So why am I leaving a 5 star review for this location? Because it is one of the few Cousin's locations that has a GRILL. In addition to the normal hot and cold subs, you can get Philly Cheesesteaks, pretty good fries, and great cheese curds. Even the regular hot subs get made on the grill instead of-- I dont even want to know how they heat them up at other locations. Maybe microwave? Staff is friendly and helpful. Drive through is sometimes slow. Dining room is dismal but clean. And it hasnt changed since my childhood. read more

It's true- better bread, better subs. I have constantly gotten the nicest, friendliest service from this location. The staff comes across as liking their jobs. I'd go have coffee with any of them. Today for the first time I tried the deep fried cheese curds and they were excellent. The marinara sauce with the curds was tastier than I expected. Today my wife and I decided to try Cousins Subs for the first time, and we were totally disappointed with both the food and service. We visited THE 3715 E. Washington Ave, Madison Wisconsin location for what we thought was going to be curbside pickup. When we got there we called the store as instructed on their website and the employee who answered when told that we had ordered curbside pickup told us we had a choice to either come in the store or go through the drive thru. That is not curbside pickup and why does their website clearly say," NOW OFFERING CURBSIDE PICK UP" and have a picture of an employee handing their order to them curbside. In addition, when placing my online order, I was asked for the make, model, and color of my car. If I am then made to go through the drive through or go into the store, why is that info needed? It was obvious that the employee would not under any circumstances bring our order to our car, so we got in line in the drive through. After waiting for about 5 minutes behind someone who was ordering quite slowly my wife suggested to drive around to the window as we had already placed our order so there should be no reason to stop at the ordering station. We got to the window and waited another 5 minutes until the manager opened the window and when I told him we were there for our curbside pickup he chastised me for not stopping and ordering. Finally, I ordered a Philly cheese steak with Provolone cheese but was given American Cheese. read more

DISGUSTING !! I had lunch there yesterday. Half way through there was a hair in my sub. It looked like a pubic hair. I took up to the manager and he offered to make me a new one. Since he was the one who made it in the first place I respectfully declined. How about you guys where hair nets or beard nets. I will not go back to this place again. read more
