Stopped here for lunch two days in a row not just because my sandwich was great, but because the service was fantastic at this location. OMG! OMG! We saw one coming in Sun Prairie never thought to check the area for other locations. My word.... glad this popped up as a recommended place on yelp so now we know they're in town and will visit later today. Look folks, this is a true east coast sub place. I adore that they cook the bacon crisp. No fear of dying from undercooked pork. The meatballs are generous and yessssss.... you've surmised correctly. .. I am writing this review before dining. The absolute BEST subs in the Madison area. These are the subs I dream about and can't contain the drool when I'm about to order. Yeah, I had one today, and from the minute I placed my order online until I picked it up I couldn't hold back the anticipation of that luscious first bite. Writing this review has me jonesing for another one. My favorite sub is the #8 club, ham turkey, bacon, provolone, lettuce, tomato, Mike's way (no salt), pickles, jalapeños, banana peppers, extra mayo on whole wheat. The regular subs are very large and I usually split one with my husband. You can customize with extra meat, bacon,cheese, pickles, jalapeños, banana peppers and bread choices. Everything is very fresh. They slice the meat and cheese to order and clean the slicer frequently. Hot sandwiches are grilled before your eyes. The staff is super friendly and the manager acknowledges every customer. If you go for lunch don't be surprised if the line is out the door -- it's a small place and extremely popular but the line moves fast. The best option is to order online. Husband ordered super sub and I ordered the number 4 . We were charged $8.95 each. We picked our order up and took it to our hotel room only to discover that neither of us received what we ordered. Being from Philly, I am always skeptical about getting a cheesesteak from any restaurant, but I will admit that this is the best I have had outside of Philly. The workers were friendly, the service was quick and the food was good. My wife had caesar chicken wrap and really enjoyed it. The real treat, and anyone from that area of the country, was the option to buy some Tastykakes to enjoy with my sandwich. The subs look good and the stuff going on it looks fresh. I saw them slicing the meet before they made the sandwich, so it is not sitting around all day already sliced and getting funky. I have to say, when I wrote my first review of JM in 2017, I had no idea what I was doing....and it made no sense. I think I know what I might have meant to say back then lol. I LOVE lettuce wraps. I like Jersey Mike meats. So, me in 2021 thinking back and me today giving a review would say....HOW cool would it be if Jersey Mikes offered an Amazing Lettuce Wrap :)). JM does have good quality ingredients; however, when I think of having a sub, they are not usually my first choice. So, to those who give five stars to JM, cool. I got the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak (#56). It came with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapeños and of course extra cheese. A Giant will run you $13.95 +tax where a regular is $7.95 +tax. I really like that they don't skimp on the meat. The meat to bun ration was almost overpowering. The aroma of my onions, peppers, and mushrooms being sauteed on their grill was intoxicating. Unlike Subway, they don't offer a ton of toppings. You can get the subs 'Mike's Way' with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices. I placed an online order for a group luncheon I was going to have and it was 16 lunch boxes. I placed it on a Monday night and asked for Tuesday by 11. Demetris (sp?) called me back Tuesday a.m. to let me know that they would try by 11, but promised me by 11:15. They had it ready for me when I arrived at 11:05 and were so gracious as to carry the big box out to my car and load it, as well as get my door for me! :) You don't see service this great much anymore. What is even better is that ALL 16 boxes were 100% correct and the food was wonderful! What a crazy place (in a good way)! From order to payment, things move along quickly, so pay attention - especially if it's busy. I learned on the fly and did okay. The regular sub is more than filling. You get to watch them slice the meat as they prepare your sub - no prepacked Oscar Meyer meat slices here... And there's plenty of it! Lots of content to these subs, so come hungry! Speaking of "plenty", let's talk about flavor. The italian sub I got was rich in flavor. I seemed to be able to pick out the taste of each meat on the sub (read: The spicy stuff didn't wash out the bland stuff...). The staff were high-energy and willing to help you, even suggesting which subs are widely accepted as "the best". They encourage "the juices" (olive oil, seasoning, dressing), as that's how Jersey Mike likes it. I'll go here again (and again...) If I can find a coupon, I'll hurry back! The shift leads and managers are all children.. they all act like children. Terrible attitudes all around. The only one that greeted me correctly and that seemed like she was even remotely happy to be there was the nice young blonde woman. The short child which I believe was the manager (terrible attitude)gave me mustard packets on the side without even attempting to see if they had mustard.. The other young brawly looking female with darker brown hair just scurries around the kitchen slopping my sandwich together ( I've been here twice now and she made my sandwich both times.. it was terrible btw) food is very subpar. Probably because theyre more worried about slopping the sandwich together than they are worried about actually making a good quality sub.. really need to work on the attitude in the workplace. maybe hire mature people to be managers..... The manager of this location is a spectacular business man and human! I stopped in today to try Jersey Mike's for the first time and I was overwhelmed with his kindness. He up sold me on a fancier sub (which was delicious) and told me once I got to the register that it was on the house simply because it is his job to "make people's days". I know it's a chain, but with a menu sporting words like prosciuttini, cappacuolo, and salami, I can at least reasonably pretend that I'm at an old-world Italian deli. I also like the fact that the default condiments are old school: onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices (aka "Mike's Way"). The super sub (#5) was delish. I like the fact that they sliced the cheese right in plain view. I'm a long-time Jimmy John's fan, but if there was a Jersey Mike's closer to my home, JJ would have some serious competition. A few minor criticisms: price is a little high compared to Jimmy Johns. The #5 was $7.25 for a regular sized sub - almost two dollars more than a JJ Vito. Second, the place lacks personality or warmth, at least compared to JJ's. It's more akin to Subway in this regard. Service was prompt and friendly, and the bathroom was clean. read more

There was a Jersey Mike's near my work location when I lived in the Twin Cities, so I was excited to see one opening up in Middleton. It's a great addition to Greenway Station's restaurant offerings and Middleton's sub scene as a whole. The clean surroundings, fresh-cut meats & cheeses, crisp veggies and friendly service make the sandwiches worth the longer wait than you'll experience at nearby Subway or Milio's or down-the-road Cousins, but at just a fraction of the wait than Firehouse Subs a few exits down the Beltline. They get a little jammed over the weekday lunch rush, but you're still in & out pretty fast. Make no mistake: If you're a New Jersey hoagie or Philly cheesesteak snob, you're not going to like my 4-star review of this place. However, you are in Madison, Wisconsin, so the sub reviews are going to be in comparison to other local options, and I would choose Jersey Mike's over the other local options. If you don't like it, fuggedaboudit -- Philly and the Jersey Shore are just a short, private-jet flight away. read more

My 4/5 rating applies to Jersey Mikes as it compares to other sandwich chains. As a New Yorker living in Madison for nearly a decade, I have long suffered that Madison has no real sandwich shops. Sure, there are plenty of places that make ok sandwiches, but these are all most likely restaurants with big menus. There are no real east coast style delis. As far as sandwich chains go, Subway is hot garbage. Quiznos isn't far behind. Same goes for Cousins. I guess Potbellys and Which Which are ok, but they all lack that fresh, full deli sandwich vibe. While I can't in good conscience compare a large chain to the brilliance of an authentic local deli, Jersey Mikes is the only sandwich chain worth eating at. The long rolls are deli quality, and they use fresh cut sandwich meat like the kind you SHOULD be getting at the deli counter at your local grocery. We've trekked from the east side (about 25 mins drive each way) on a lazy Saturday/Sunday a few times in the short time they've been open, just to get a quick solid sandwich. Owner of this franchise seems like a good dude. Staff has always shown fantastic hustle when I've stopped in. read more

I would not recommend this restaurant. The veggie wrap was slimy, wet, and soft of the outside making it difficult to grab with my hands. The contents inside were mushy and not appetizing. Very good subs fresh vegetables meat sliced when you order. They have both hot and cold subs and wraps. Have a good selection of toppings so we can get something for everyone. Chips about the only side cookies and brownies for dessert. Good varieties of sodas standard and specialty and juice.
