Dr Latner is a great dentist but his rates are much higher than other dentist. I guess it's a case of u get what u pay for!

Dr. Latner and all of his staff are extremely professional and friendly. Not only that, they go above and beyond in all ways. I am in my late 40s and have lived overseas and this is the first dental office where I have felt completely comfortable and at ease. No one ENJOYS going to the dentist but Dr. Latner and his staff make it easy to actually enjoy the experience. Highly recommend them -- you won't be sorry! read more

I had my first visit today and my teeth have never felt better! I've lived down the street from this office for almost 15 yrs and didn't even know they were so amazing! Vanessa is so warm and helpful...the other gal at the front is a sweetheart as well. I had Joanne as my hygienist...she was gentle and very thorough. I had to tell her I didn't mind her being a bit rougher since I love getting my teeth cleaned because she was so concerned about my comfort. I sent an email on their website stating I was looking for a dentist for my 93 years old mother. I asked if they gave senior discounts and if they had disability parking. I received a generic response asking what I needed to come in for and when did I want to come in. I responded back that she needed teeth cleaning, X-rays and whatever else needed done. I again asked if they could respond to my initial requests. I never heard back. So I'm assuming by their lack of response that they were only interested in setting up an appointment. Other than that they didn't care about answering my questions first. Too bad. My mother probably needs a lot of dental work which another dentist will get her business. read more

Fist off, I want to say, for 58 years I never liked going to the dentist office for anything. Back in the 60s, I went to an English man who was a dentist, and it scared me forever. He never believed in Novocaine to. These desensitized any of the work to be done even when he was doing a cavity fill ugg and he was in Beverly Hills. When I was older in the 80s, I went to a dentist who was good she also was an examiner for the state California Dr. Savage she was killed in the open seas by belive it or not Pirates. I then went to a dentist. I was recommended to a Asian dentist when I got there his equipment was so Anequated it reminded me of the dentist (Englishman) in B.H. but he was so gentle with his hand and did the work himself, but the equipment was adequate and kind of freaked me out. Then COVID happens. Thank God I found the WESTSIDE DENTAL ASSOCIATES group. The hole staff is so friendly. What impressed me the most after the first time I had an implant work done I get a call from Dr. Les Latner later on at night, asking how do I feel. Believe it or not, there was no pain during and after the procedure and even several hours after I got home or the next day. I have had other things done with NO COMPLAINTS what so ever. Had a problem with my smiley front tooth not cooperating with the rest of my mouth and had several not terrific experiences with other dentists wanting to pull it, move it, flap it, scary stuff. I was in need of a local dentist due to a tooth ache - ultimately needing a root canal. The work done was satisfactory. However, I can say nothing else positive about this establishment or my experience there. For one, I had cold sores in my gums after both visits that made me wonder about their cleaning process there? Additionally, The front office is very impersonal (except Bianca) bordering on rude. Money is their primary focus. After paying for my "financial portion obligation as explained to me on my first visit - I was told by one staff member that my "insurance company was slow to pay" so I owed more money. When I reviewed my insurance payments online - I saw a check had been sent. I went there in person to pay the difference and be done with any future dental involvement. Beware of fraudulent over-billing if you choose to go to this office. Most disappointing to be treated so unprofessionally. read more

Dr Latner is my favorite. What a nice guy and he's extremely knowledgeable. I love the office staff, the location (except for the parking situation which can be a tad much sometimes), moreover, the dental hygienists are extremely sweet and very friendly. Worst experience at a dental office ever! This practice is an organized, diss, honest, and rude.I had an appointment scheduled for a for a post removal and if needed a retreat on a root canal, and a consultation for an implant. Despite having received my referral and a phone call from my referring doctor the staff had no clue what I was there for. They presented me with a bill for services I wasn't even getting. Throughout this entire experience they incorrectly build me at least five times. Secondly, I was advised the doctor that would need to do the consult for the implant is only in twice a month and I would have to come back another day, despite my appointment being for a consult for an implant and a possible retreat on a root canal, which only this doctor can perform. Moreover, I asked several times before I got started if the other service I was seeking could actually be performed by who was in the at the time. I needed a post removed on the same tooth that was supposed evaluated for a possible retreat of a root canal. I made it very clear. I did not want to stay at the office if the person who needed to perform the work was not in the office. I was a assured several times that the doctor in the office could remove the post and could do an evaluation to see if the tooth needed to be retreated. Not only did I have to take the same x-ray multiple times due to their antiquated software. The consultation I received from the doctor was based solely on these x-rays, despite my billing estimate indicating that there should've been a test done. The doctor advised me that I could retreat as a preventative measure. However, there was no way for him if it was actually necessary, he never looked at the tooth, nor did he remove the post, nor did he perform any of the required test to make such determination. It was after I declined, having a preventative root canal done without any other examination besides an x-ray image, that I was advised that the doctor could not remove the post due to short staff. However, when I inquired 30 minutes prior, I was assured that the doctor could remove the post and evaluate the tooth. Upon wrapping up from this horrible experience I asked that the test I was being billed for be removed as it was not performed I was condescendingly advised that the billing was accurate, despite it being inaccurate five times. It was after a my continuous insistence that a dental assistant spoke with the doctor who confirmed that he did not perform the test. This office is completely incompetent in my opinion from this one experience. Every step of the way everything was in accurate moreover, then they were not apologetic for any of the mistakes that they made. Nor were they apologetic for any of the incorrect assumptions they made and no apology for any of the blatant lies they told . This place is giving they're just here to billing clients. read more

Is anybody really happy after a root canal? Well, I am! Dr. Latner's state-of-the-art office is a joy to visit -- he sent me to a great specialist to replace an 30-year-old root canal, and now I'm back for the temporary crown and permanent crown next week. Dr. Latner takes great joy in his work, has great rapport with his skillful staff and uses all the newest tech available both for diagnosis and to show the patient what's going on -- and why -- every step of the way, with explanations and full-color pics and animations on the big screen. Incredible. I had a tooth extraction from a long-standing cavity that I was quite remiss in dealing with in the early stages and I have to tell you, Latner has hands like air. You don't ever even feel them passing into, around or out of your mouth. My problem with dentists is that I generally feel invaded when they are poking around and never at any point did I feel like this with this dentist. It was smooth and easy and came at quite a decent price. Very happy. Thanks Dr. Latner...you are certainly skilled at your profession!!! Update: I'm having my regular cleanings done here and the hygienist, Ingrid, is absolutely the best hygienist I've ever had the pleasure to be so lucky as to have clean my teeth. I was seated to have my teeth cleaned for the first time in the office of Dr. Latner. While cleaning my teeth, within the first 10 minutes of being there, Valerie, the hygienist managed to say shit, asshole and (brace yourselves here, and I apologize for the rudeness...) pussy. Wha... ?! I was shocked, uncomfortable and puzzled as to how anyone would talk that way to a new customer/patient in a professional atmosphere. After my appointment while back to my car I found this so unsettling that I went back up to the office to speak with Dr. Latner about this. He listened to me and agreed that it was wrong, but I didn't sense the shock and disappointment in his employee's conduct that I would have imagined. He asked if they had my email address so that I could fill out an online survey to state my opinion of the service provided there. Really? No, doctor. I'm telling you now, face to face. I don't want to fill out your online survey. I want you to acknowledge that it is shocking and unacceptable that your hygienist is speaking to your customers/patients in this manner. This was a terrible experience, indeed. I just received a letter in the mail from Dr. Latner's office and figured that it must be an apology for the unprofessional, unsettling experience that I encountered during my first and only visit. For more than a year, my wife and I have been regular patients. The office and staff are professional and inviting. Three different hygienists have had the burden to clean my chiclets and all three were excellent. I'm a bleeder. It's my own fault for not flossing or brushing my gums. Been there and heard that for years. What's great about Westside Dental is that they accept it and just go about their job of gently cleaning my teeth without a massive guilt trip and lecture session. Also, If you L. U. V. technology the way Madonna LUVes herself, then Latner is THE dentist for you. Even before arriving, the tech touch points are more than 4 out of 5 patients would recommend: modern website, regular blog, live online chat, email newsletters, text message updates & reminders, promotional videos, and a busy Facebook presence. Then at the office, prepare for more gadgetry. While you wait, there's the obligatory TV with some PBS content, but there's also a play area for kids, a small kitchenette with free water, snacks, cookies, and microwave ... side note: I kind of feel weird eating cookies BEFORE seeing my dentist ... Then a digital photo of you is added to your file. Once you actually hit the dentist chair, get ready for Laser Cavity Detection, Air Abrasion for Cavities, Composite Resin Fillings, and a myriad of other cool cosmetic dentistry stuff I don't even understand. Seriously, it's like George Lucas became a dentist. The only drawback is that all the professionalism, tender care, and technology come at a hefty price tag. i had written an amazing review for les in the past and than took it down, a few months after I discovered a bone infection and had to have his work undone and everything redone by a specialist. i like the office, i like the staff, i like the cleanings. And honestly, i really like les! he came in on a holiday to help me out when i had an issue. But liking someone, and knowing they are the best at what they do are two different things. I feel bad sharing this. But i feel worse thinking that someone else might end up like me and get some ambitious work done by les and end up with even bigger problems after the fact. Problems, that you cannot undue and have to live with for the rest of your life. Problems that are less likely to happen if you have a specialist who does the major stuff every single day. Versus the dentist who deals with the major stuff a handful of times a year... Les will take on cases, that ultimately, should be referred out. Yes he can do it, but that doesn't mean he is the best at it or should do it. If you need a root canal or implant, go to a specialist. Do not let a regular dentist perform this kind of work on you... no matter how much you like them. If you have a major issue, you should be sent to a specialist. And les will take on the challenge. It's not that he isn't capable. Its just that specialists are more capable and have better technology, tools and experience. DO YOU WANT THE GUY THAT DID 11 implants this year working on your mouth, or the guy that did 900 implants? if you go to him and its something major, get a second opinion. AND RESEARCH!!!! The most valuable lesson i learned was, ALAWYS RESEARCH YOUR PROCEDURE. Do not just trust that the dr you are supposed to trust, knows the best, safest way of doing things. Because even though they are in a position of trust, nobody has more to lose than you, the patient. And nobody cares as much as you do. SO RESEARCH and SECOND opinion is my advice if you are going to this office. They do have great cookies though. read more

Les Latner's dental practice is one of the worst I have ever experienced. Should you ever be misdiagnosed for any treatment, you can rest assured Dr. Latner will want full payment for his services without any sympathy or apologies. In October of 2012, I was given a filling that did not last more than seven days, because what I needed was a root canal. The pain and swelling was unbearable, so much that I called 1-800-DENTIST, to find someone else to remedy the pain at 1AM. Almost one year later, without a single call from the office, or a single billing statement - Dr. Latner sent an outstanding balance of $300 to a collection agency. Talk about adding insult to injury...when I went to his offices to discuss, his staff was courteous, but he personally had the incredulous arrogance to dispute that he did anything wrong and questioned if a root canal was needed at all! I asked why is it that your staff has called me the past several months for "cleaning" and never a mention of any outstanding balance? There was no response to that question. Ask yourself, what type of dentist questions a root canal to anyone who had to take antibiotics for a week, and experienced the root canal procedure - then sends a petty balance to collections without notice? His position on sending the account to collections was despite the fact they did not timely submit paperwork to the insurance - they still deserved to be paid in full for a filling that did not last longer than a week. Evidently, there was a shortage in what the insurance already paid for his unnecessary procedure. Looking at this guy face-to-face made me convinced he is a total douchebag. read more

I have really bad anxiety, phobia, and have really sensitive teeth and gums, so dentistry is basically torture for me. The staff at Dr. Latner's office was gentle, compassionate, and never made me feel bad about my wonky mouth. Alex was by far the best hygienist I've had. Very impressed. I was told by my regular dentist that I needed gum surgery. Dr. Latner said that I did not need the surgery, which would be costly and require significant recovery time, and instead performed a de-sensitizing treatment which worked like a charm! He could have proceeded with the surgery just to make a buck, but he did the honorable thing. Also, I liked how he explained what he was doing every step of the way. I have been coming to Dr. Latner for about 3 years. I take good care of my teeth and don't have anxiety over going to the dentist, that said Les Latner's office meets & exceeds my expectations for the following reasons: 1. Professional front desk - appointments are handled well, the office uses emails and texts to confirm appointments, and I've never had an issue getting an appointment. 2. Not overcrowded - I have been places where I felt like I was 1 of thousands of patients. That is not an issue here. I always get taken back for my appointment at the scheduled time without having to wait. 3. Friendly staff - everyone is very nice and friendly. There are cookies and coffee in the waiting area. They even clean my night guard for me whenever I come in (something they offered a few visits ago). read more

Recently started going to Les Latner. I've only had one checkup and cleaning but it was a good experience. The cleaning seemed a little rough but that was probably because it had been awhile since I had gone to a dentist so there was a lot to be done. Dr. Latner's examination of my teeth was very thorough. He did at least 3 different types of examinations on my teeth. X-rays, physical exam, and then a laser exam. Also was glad to learn they accept most dental insurances. I'm glad to finally have found a good dentist in LA! read more

After an extraction due to an overly frozen peanut embedded in ice cream (with a replacement, implanted tooth afterward) and a year or so with Invisalign to straighten very crooked teeth I have three noteworthy observations: 1. Alba and the office staff treat patients like family. It doesn't get better than that. 2. Eric (also DDS) is truly talented and incredibly responsive to patient needs. 3. Other than the unavoidable "pinch" to administer Novocain, all the work Dr. Latner has done has been pain-free, and this includes the extraction of a molar! Just the thought of having my jaw bone drilled and tapped for an implant sounded awful, but the experience was 180° from my expectation. Dr. Latner came to my family via referral and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to play it forward by making the same recommendation to anyone in need of dental care. Dr. Latner is on top of advances in dental technology and has an incredible skill set - more like a "dental engineer" than a typical dentist. I never thought I'd look forward to dental visits, but here I am writing this review. Go figure. read more

His staff is knowledgeable, friendly and always offers a personal touch. It's like family here. Dr Latner himself is great. Very personable and professional.
