More than 25 years ago my buddy Jim at more than just rings made this ring for me. I rarely take it off therefore I managed to break the band so I took it back to them for repair. It's been 25 years since I was a scared young man standing with his father and "his jeweler" Jimmy. I wanted to get engaged, I was 20 and had nearly no money. Jimmy spent hours with me as he has many times before and after teaching me about diamonds and settings. I pick "the one" and Jimmy helped to select the setting. The ring was $2,200 and while that may not seem like a large amount it was way more than I could even imagine at the time. I plunked down the $500 I had saved for weeks and Jimmy said I could make payments over time. Every Friday I would go in and make a payment and Jimmy would take the ring out to show me, sometimes he would yell from the back he's here to visit his ring and Al would take it out. He would let me stand there and just look at it and never rush me. After weeks of payments and visits I told Jimmy I wanted to get engaged on my Grandmothers birthday December 22. Jimmy knew Nan and just how special she was to me, one problem I could not pay the ring off by then. Jimmy placed them ring in a box with a little light that would shine down on the diamond and handed it to me and wished me the best. More Than Just Rings is the best! Jim was able to have an exact replica made of a 14kt yellow gold and diamond earring that went missing from my Mother when she was hospitalized. I really appreciate the fact that he took the time to do the job, as it was not a simple task. I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I had first went to a Jeweler in Marlton in need of a small repair on my engagement ring. I had lost one of the small diamonds from the halo around my center stone. The ring was purchased in California, where my husband and I lived at the time. I knew of the Jeweler because I grew up in Marlton and they seemed to have a good reputation. I was extremely disappointed with how my husband and I were treated from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. No one acknowledged us for some time after we walked in and when I approached someone for help, she was rude and dismissive. Once someone finally came over to help us, I explained what we needed. He looked at my ring through his loupe and his first comment was "You don't want me to critiques this, do you?" I know that my ring is of very good quality and have the certs to prove it, so his comment was both rude and unnecessary. He proceeded to tell me that I should consider having all of the diamonds in the halo reset because all of the prongs were flattened and I would probably start losing them one by one. He quoted me a price of $500 to do the suggested repair. Neither I nor my husband felt comfortable with the entire visit, so we decided to take my ring elsewhere for another opinion. Based on a recommendation from my cousin, we went to More Than Just Rings. What a difference from the second we walked in. We were greeted and helped immediately. Upon examination of my ring, we were told first that it was a good quality ring and that the repair could be done for $30 and an additional $25 if we wanted to have it professionally shined and restored to its original luster. We were also told that the prongs were just fine and that he wouldn't recommend redoing the entire halo, as it wasn't necessary. We had the repair done and the ring re-polished here for a fraction of the price and were treated with respect and complete professionalism. The work was completed in just a couple of days and my ring looks brand new again. I am so glad that we did not make the mistake of allowing the other Jeweler to bilk us out of more money for unnecessary repairs and after the way we were treated we will never set foot in there again. It's not often that I am speechless but the ring that Alfred, James and Nicholas created for my wife was absolutely breathtaking and left me speechless. We visited "More Than Just Rings" in early January on the recommendation from good friends with the goal to redesign my wife's engagement ring and wedding band after 18 years. We went in to the store somewhat skeptical after experiencing a discouraging encounter with a very reputable yet arrogant jeweler in Marlton a year earlier. That store owner insisted our existing marquis diamond was out of style and as a result he really didn't seem interested in helping us. We left that store feeling aggravated and depressed and ultimately didn't revisit the idea for at least another year when neighbors recommended "More Than Just Rings." We went to "More Than Just Rings" and knew within ten minutes of meeting Alfred that we found the right people. Both Alfred and James were very welcoming and openly listened to what we were looking for. It was now up to us to figure out exactly what we wanted but we left the store that evening knowing without a doubt Alfred and James would create my wife's forever ring. We returned a week later and spent about an hour with James and by the time we were done he had the ring scribbled out on the back of an envelope and about a week and a half later we received a cad drawing of the ring and approved the design. Four weeks later Alfred called and said the ring was ready. That evening we went to pick up the ring and honestly we were not prepared for what they presented to us. What started as an idea scribbled on the back of an envelope transformed into something so absolutely breathtaking that neither of us can stop looking at it. It truly is a forever ring. These guys are true artists. That's when we met Nicholas, Alfred's son and a Certified National Jewelry Appraiser. Nicholas was responsible for developing the CAD design drawing of the ring and for preparing the appraisal. I have had appraisals performed in the past but nothing anywhere close to the detail we received in the five-page document we received. If we were to ever lose that ring or it was stolen, we can literally hand that document to a jeweler and he would be able to duplicate the ring stone for stone, dimension for dimension. Nicholas took the time to go over every line with us to make sure we understood all of it. When someone, or in this case, three people do something so incredible for the most special person in my life, I want everyone to know just how terrific these people are. I will forever be grateful to Alfred, James and Nicholas for creating my wife's forever ring and doing it with such class and kindness.
