Great place for happy hour! The drinks are fantastic, and the Bloody Mary and smoked wings are must-haves -- don't skip them. It took me awhile to finally try Q. I had heard the Lambertville location was the better, but since that closed I figured I'd go here. Conveniently located in the TJs shopping center you would think it could get some traffic, that didn't seem to be the case on either of my visits. On the first I just went with sides. I loved the onion rings! Nicely battered and best in class. The beans are also very good and have gotten them twice now. They are not sweet and are loaded with burnt end pieces. The cheese grits were also very good. The Mac and cheese was just ok, as was the pulled chicken. The bbq sauce was omitted unfortunately for that dish, maybe it had potential with that? Service has been quick and friendly on both visits, and the interior is inviting and befitting a bbq joint. I'll return to try more things...... read more

Paid about $30 for half pound of brisket and an order of five wings. Maybe outside the price range for most "lunches" but they do have sandwiches in the $12-15 range. While I enjoyed the smoked wings...the brisket was a bit dry. Space and decor are great...very clean and well-maintained space. We have been going to More Than Q for at least 10 years. First in Stockton then Lambertville. The food was always great/fantastic/the best. Yesterday we did take out from the new place in Ewing and it was very bad. The brisket was dry and burnt and the wings the same. It was as if we got the scraps and leftovers from the day before. The pulled pork was marginal. Not what we had been accustomed to over the years. Hopefully this was just an anomaly but it wont have us coming back anytime soon. read more

Nice friendly and quick service, ordered Platter for 2 and Sriracha large sized thighs. Both were very tasty, side of beans are very good, recommend giving them a try. Second time here... one comment is we both noticed Platter portions sizes a little inconsistent, first time here was light and ate 2 thighs to make for it...this time was more platter meat which was nice. It's a good thing this place has more than Q, because the Q was absolutely worthless. Being from Texas, I have had the good fortune to have eaten a ton of BBQ in my days and I can say, without hesitation, this was the worst BBQ I have had in my life. It's hard to put into words just how bad it was. Zero flavor. Needed salt. They managed to take juicy chicken thighs and make them incredibly dry. The brisket not only had no flavor, it actually had a weird flavor that I having trouble putting into words. It was...watery? Like did they smoke it, store it, and then steam it later to reheat it? I have no idea how describe what I tasted. That being said, 1 star for a friendly waitress and 1 star for the appetizers and salad/pickles being aesthetically appealing. These more than Q items were extremely good. The chopped salad was amazing sans the brisket placed over it. The pickles were awesome, the deviled eggs were great, the guac was guac...needed salt though, a common theme. First time trying this place and I had an open mind and hoped for the best. But, when I saw they were completely empty at 12:30pm during lunch, I knew which side of their mixed reviews were the right side. 5/5: The smoked wings and chicken thighs are a must try! They were fresh, hot, and juicy. I prefer them with their Alabama "White" BBQ sauce, but I did try their other sauce options which were pretty good as well. 3/5: The Brisket had good smoke and moisture to them, but it lacked seasoning. There was also too much fat left on it for my liking, but overall it made for a pretty good sandwich, along with their house made pickles and onions and slaw. 5/5: Surprisingly I enjoyed their spring salad with fresh Kale, goat cheese, mango, strawberries, and slice apple. They lightly tossed it in a vinaigrette and gave a good size portion. The perfect starter before you partake of all of their great meats. 4/5: I ordered a half rack of their ribs which was also very good. Tender, nice smoke and moisture but again the lack of basic s&p. I prefer my ribs to have a little chew and not too much falling off the bone, but that wasn't a deal breaker. Stumbled on this place yesterday after I did some grocery shopping at the traders joes right next to it. I was EXTREMELY impressed to say the least. Service was outstanding, my server was Darius V. I came in by myself and was seated immediately and was given the option to sit in the main dining room or a slightly more secluded area in the back with some TVs. I sat in the back and was happy that they were playing the Monday night football game. Definitely a great place to watch a game with a group of friends. Since I was alone the my server recommended that I get the 1/3lb of brisket. This was the perfect amount of food and I also got it with a side of Mac n cheese. (My pictures don't do it much justice) But the brisket was tender and juicy. I've been searching for a good barbecue spot in New Jersey for a while. Truly an outstanding experience since their rebranding/reopening! They have transformed their to-go BBQ into a beautiful rustic restaurant. Grace was our server; she was adorable, helpful, and couldn't be sweeter if she tried! :) They had classic BBQ from their old menu, and some cool additions featured below, such as salads, common American entrees, and desserts. First time at the Q and it was everything we heard about! We were greeted immediately and loved our service from Katie. Juan was shadowing her since this is first job ever! She was extremely patient and so were we. We have all been there. Katie explained the menu and my husband, who thinks he is an Iron Chef , asked Juan the difficult questions to help learn. There was no one else in the restaurant, so this was a great teaching experience. What kind of cheese is on the steak sandwich? White or Yellow American? We all had a good time, and then we enjoyed our meal as the restaurant started to become busy. Great food and a great group of people! I thought if I didn't try this establishment again in years it will be better but it was worse. They had meat sitting on a rack in the middle aisle. Meat pilled on top and underneath rack when I realized they were thawing meat. So it comes in already cooked and they warm it up. My stomach feels eel and I had diarrhea off of ribs. Lovely staff & Amazing food. We ordered 1 pound of brisket, sriracha-lime chicken wings, cole slaw, and chicken tenders with french fries. It all was delicious - they also have their bbq sauces on each table to pair your favorite with each bite. We had a great experience with the staff. We arrived a couple of minutes before the restaurant opened, with 2 toddlers. We sat outside waiting and a kind gentleman (I believe he was the manager) opened the door and asked if we wanted to wait inside. Even though the restaurant wasn't opened yet and the whole staff was not there, he took our order and there was one cook that started preparing our meal. What a major disappointment. The food was far from what it used to be at the Lambertville store. We got the platter for 2'ish. The brisket was way overcooked, all one color, no smoke ring, cut really thick, lacking flavor. The pulled pork was watery and lots of fat. The slaw is not what it used to be. The mac and cheese was cold like they took it out of the freezer and tried to warm it up in a microwave that didn't get to the center. The pickles were not pickles, just cucumbers, no pickling flavor or vinegar. What happened? We used to LOVE their food and drove over an hour for it. Solid BBQ in NJ! We tried takeout from this spot recently after discovering it on Yelp. We ordered online and it was very organized and efficient when we went for pickup. We tried the platter for 2 which came with your choice of 2 meats (brisket and pulled chicken), 2 sides (beans and Mac n Cheese), and 2 non alcoholic drinks (sweet tea and lemon seltzer) for $32. We did add a side of cornbread for $2 and hush puppies for $7. The meat was tender and flavorful and the BBQ sauce had some good heat. Was it Texas BBQ? No way but for Jersey, it was really satisfying. The sides were both delicious especially the baked beans which had little pieces of brisket in the broth. The cornbread was good though the hush puppies were sort of meh so definitely could have skipped them. It was more than enough food and we had plenty of leftovers! read more

So.... I was not thrilled. I love Famous Dave's rib and sauces, I'm not a fan of southern style vinegar based. So that's particular to my taste. I was also disappointed that there was nothing included with the purchase of a half rack, but if you get a sandwich there were sides included (couple ordering in front of me). While the couple was taking all kind of time discussing and debating their choices and options, A second employee never offered to assist and or take my order. Then when I was ready to leave I first asked to take home my leftovers. The same person just brought over a container. When I was all packed up, I then stopped at his counter and asked for a bag, at which he hand me without opening or even offering to bag my item. Other items, the cornbread was actually a generous size for the $, but that and the creamy coleslaw were just ok. My Sweet Baby Jays bbq sauce made my leftover ribs a pleasure to finish up. I was craving something good and walked away with an expensive "just ok" and poor service, wishing now I hadn't pre-pay the tip. A bit pricy but I can't think of any good BBQ joint that isn't nowadays, so Ill give them a pass on that one. I had the brisket sandwich ill give it 4/5 as it is a good portion and very moist but the bread and sides are not worthwhile so Id probably just opt for 1/2 pound brisket next time. Fried pickles were pretty good but didn't quite work for me in the texture -- luckily the remolaude can make anything taste good. The fries are actually what pushed what would be a 4/5 otherwise over the top: I havent had fries this good in a long time. Its hard to get real thick cut fries that are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside and have great flavor without cheating by over salting. I have tried the one in Lambertville a while back but took a while for me to try out this place. Had the brisket sandwich. I don't think this place yet does the volume as the other place and you really be REALLY hungry to really enjoy this place so that you can try a little bit of everything OR you go with a group of people. the sandwich was moist and good, with plenty of bbq sauce they put in the food container. I kinda wanted to give 3 or 3 1/2 stars but realized that the real problem was that I wanted to try a bunch of different things and should have gone with the family or a group. I ended up getting the food delivered, so I can't comment on the ambience inside the restaurant, but I'll probably head over there sometime soon and may update this review when I do so :) I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich with some cornbread on the side, and everything was very tasty! The sandwich was surprisingly large and the Carolina BBQ sauce was pretty tasty. The cornbread was maybe the highlight for me - it was soft and flaky, and the accompanying (apple?) butter was pretty darn good too. Solid BBQ Spot for when you are heading to Trader Joes but also don't want to cook dinner. We were also really nicely surprised at how nice they attempted to make the outdoor parking lot dining. We have been to the New Hope More Than Q and remember them having a ton of sauces to choose from, but maybe they cut down because of covid. We also got some cornbread, cookies, beans and fries. Sides were hit or miss for me. My husband loved their beans, I did not. My kid loved the cornbread, I did not. Fries and pickled veggies were my jam. In the past we have had their brussel sprouts which I loved. The platter included these cool glass bottle sodas, sadly they only had cola or ginger ale. I got the item on special menu for lunch Patty Melt, asked for the sauce to be on the side since I expected the patty melt will be pretty greasy already. The bread was charred and nice presentation. Burger was tender and delicious. Wish I had a pickle to cut the grease in the foods. I typically save writing bad reviews, but I just had to warn people away from this place. I called in a take out order to go for a family of four, asking specific questions about the portions and spices. I ordered one and a half pounds of three staples - pulled pork, chicken and brisket with what sounded like decent sides for our family. I got there a little too early and had to wait about 20 minutes for an order that I was told would only to take "15-20 minutes" on the cal. The place wasn't busy and looked unkempt, with dim lighting and dirty floors and the counters that felt greasy. Staff seemed very uninformed and even put off by having to answer any questions. I was surprised at the (very high) prices, but even more shocked that they pushed touch screen at me and "expected" a pre-determined 18/22/25/30 % tip for take out service! When I questioned that, the woman at the counter (still holding my credit card) said "well people usually give us something".... To be fair, everything below was realized only after I got home.... I have a funny quirk - as a former Sous Chef, I tend to rate places by their Cole Slaw. If they take time to make a good slaw, then other food is sure to be carefully prepared. This was not - the example they served was small, horribly peppered with a vinegar bite and a sugar-sweet after taste. The brisket was dry, and hardly a portion for two. The pulled pork had no flavor...not smoky, not saucy....nothing there - like a dry lump of barely enough for two. The chicken thighs (4) were overcooked and had been sitting under heat lamps for far too long. Sides - cornbread (stale), hush puppies (saturated in oil and only 6 to the order that said 8 on the menu) and sauces were equally flavorless and just ...bad. Oh, and what was supposed to be 1.5 pounds of each of the meats was barely a weighed 12 ounces. I'm not sorry for this review, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Pick sandwich($10+$2 for brisket), slider($5+$1 foe brisket) OR pay for meat by the pound. I didn't want bread, but didn't want to do my own math of what weight of meat do I want today. I recommend having some standard platters to pick from. My personal gripe. The slider was a good size so it actually was perfect amount with a side. This place is fantastic! We stopped in here for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything tasted. We had a 1/2 pound of brisket, a pulled pork sandwich with pickled onions and coleslaw, a chopped Cobb salad and macaroni and cheese. At first, we were a bit concerned that the prices were high. However, the amount of food you get for those prices is outstanding. You can easily split a 1/2 pound of meat and two sides for two people. We got the small salad and small macaroni and cheese and we couldn't finish it. The meat fell off the bone, super tender and extremely flavorful. The food came out fast and service was great. The ribs were dry on the inside and had a salty bark. Same with the brisket. The sauce didn't help as much. Sausage was good but I doubt they make it onsite. The pulled pork was like jerky, not sure how long it was sitting out. Whatever juice they poured on it made the bottom pork passable. I get that it's bbq and not made to order but it would have been nice if they steamed it or found a better way to reheat before serving. The pickles, onions and coleslaw were actually quite good and they give you a lot when you get the family platter. The special meatloaf was pretty good and moist, but honestly anything wrapped in bacon is pretty hard to mess up. Wings honestly weren't terrible but I would suggest sauce on the side. The fried pickles were terrible, ended up being the least favorite on the table. Not crispy at all. Basically a basket of their house pickles with some batter on it. The popcorn shrimp was good, it was actually the first basket to be done. Same for the hush puppies, but then again it's probably because both weren't made on-site. Fries and tenders were fine because let's be honest, they were probably frozen. Mac and cheese had a slight grainy texture, probably because it was all mixed together when cooking instead of cooking the Mac separate and making a smooth cheese sauce before mixing together. Grits were good but judging by the instant grits bags in plain view, it's not like they had to do much. If you wanted to have people order at the counter and then seat themselves maybe have a fountain drink machine and a station for utensils and whatnot. This half waiter,half self serve thing wasn't practical. The name made me realize the non bbq items were the stuff we actually ate. If you're gonna be a bbq place, really make the bbq shine. I wouldn't dream of comparing this to the top spots in Texas, but it really isn't even that good for the north east. I always order point brisket at every BBQ place because that is my favorite. Neither the girl at the front desk nor the guys working the line in the kitchen knew what "point" brisket was....really bad sign. It was pretty tender, but really lacking flavor and I ended up adding a bunch of salt and pepper to the meat myself. The bark was soggy and was almost falling apart.
