I knew this spot to be mostly Caribbean and Afrikan. It gets crowded after midnight but a comfortable crowded. Drinks weren't to pricey. I drank fruit punch. I wanted to check the place out sober. The bartenders were okay. Not to talkative just made drinks pretty much. I was a bartender so having conversation helps you make tips . I would come again. I mean it's up the road and who wants to always fight for parking downtown. The ox tails were okay. I like the food and atmosphere. I never been inside the smaller bar they have Next door during the week but I know that is the original location. Give it a try. I felt safe and there was no fighting or drama. I seen under 30 men and women and it was fun and not ratchet at all.

Environment was clean, not too crowded and lighting/special effects were perfect. Drinks were good and not overpriced. Cover charge was 5 bucks. I really enjoyed myself and so did my friends. The DJ played a good variety of music. As the night progressed they played more Caribbean and African music. I really enjoyed myself and I would return in the future.

Amy was the DJ for our November 2024 wedding. As the music sets the vibe, we wanted someone who…read morereally understood what we were looking for and understood the music we like and our tastes. After a horrible experience talking with another vendor, we immediately clicked with Amy and felt that she understood what we were looking for (Gay dance pop!). Communication with her was straightforward and simple, and she took our basic playlists for different parts of the night and blended them to reflect our style and set the appropriate mood. She executed the music cues during our outdoor ceremony perfectly which we believe helped to elevate the whole experience. But the star of our experience with her was an amazingly packed and vibrant dance floor for the whole time. We got so many compliments on the music and everyone from our friends to coworkers and older relatives had a great time. One of our requests was to play a ton of Chappell Roan and Amy delivered, including a (potentially original?) dance mix of Pink Pony Club that was honestly transcendent. She even played a special song for a plushie toss (it's a story) without our prompting. Every part of working with her was wonderful and we'd wholehearted recommend her to any couple in the area looking for a wedding DJ.

Amy was prompt, communicative, and thoughtful in all of our interactions up to the wedding. Her playlists for cocktail and dinner hour were a perfect mix of some of our favorites and suggestions with other great tunes, and wow, she knows how to get people on the dance floor! I can't say enough positive things about working with Amy -- her services are a great value and I'd absolutely recommend!

On the hunt to try some of Baltimore's best crab cakes, I'm late to the party for Kocos. However,…read morebetter late than never. Given Koco's crab cake platter during their dinner service will set you back about $50, I've been hesitant to spend that amount of money for just one 8oz. crab cake. So I decided to give them a try during their lunch hours where you can get a 6oz. crab cake platter for about $30. I ordered in advance and popped into the brightly colored, tropical themed restaurant which was bustling on a Friday afternoon. My pickup was quick and the service was nice. I of course had to sneak a few fries while on my ride home, and they were perfectly crisp and well seasoned. Once I made it home I dived into the beautifully broiled crab cake and I immediately understood why Koco's is know as one of best crab cakes in the area. Full of lump crab meat, seasoned to perfection, and not wet in the center. All things I consider in a good crab cake. Now that I've had a taste of Koco's I'll definitely be saving a few coins to splurge a little for a crab cake.

They are known for their crab cakes and rightfully so! It was huge and delicious. There were no fillers so you get to taste the freshness of the crab itself and it was quite filling. Staff was very welcoming and attentive. Despite being a pub, it felt quite homey.

I'd have to say that customer service is something that makes or breaks business and I'm glad that Charmed Life takes customer service seriously. He offered to touch up the tattoo himself (for free), which I really appreciate. I had to regretfully decline the offer since I live in San Francisco. Maybe I can arrange something if I visit again (who knows when that'll be!). Really sad since no one wants to fix it over here, even with pay! :( Anywho, I've added an additional star for Darl and his customer service. But at the end of the day, I'm not satisfied with my tattoo or my experience and it's going to stay with me forever.

Fair warning, they charge $200 hourly for medium to large tattoos, so it can get pricey depending on what you are looking to have done. Trust me when I say you are paying for quality. My artist, Tony, specializes in black and grey realism. I wanted a black and grey waterfall with a rainbow shooting through the middle. He was honest with his opinion (he didn't like the rainbow idea), however he gave me exactly what I wanted and it turned out beautiful. He usually doesn't work on Sunday's but he made an exception for me when I scheduled the tattoo, so he is relatively flexible if he can make it work. He has also been nationally recognized as an artist and has about 20 years of experience. Charmed Life is a great place for all of your tattoo desires.
