We came here on a Wednesday night for family dinner. They had both indoor and outdoor seating area. The interior looked really fancy. They offer BYOB service with no cork fee. When we arrived, there was just one other party seating outdoor. The restaurant seemed like a ghost town. After waiting couple of minutes, a server saw us and helped us to find a table. The menu had appetizers, pastas, salads, raw bar, burgers, steaks and seafood. I didn't find any sushi anywhere. They also didn't provide any complimentary bread like most other steakhouses do. For starter we ordered the fried oysters and the grilled octopus. The oysters were tiny 7 pieces but cooked well. The octopus dish looked nothing like the picture posted online, it was a just three long arms lumped with potatoes. For main course, I ordered surf and turf with medium steak. But when it came out, the steak was overcooked, beyond well done. The lobster tail was decent but again didn't seem to be fresh enough. We also got the Halibut that seemed to be a frozen filet and have no seasoning. As the dinner progressed, few other parties showed up. There was only one server managing all the tables. So we got the basic service him taking orders, clearing out empty plates and bringing the new dishes. There was also a 3% fee for using credit card to pay. Overall whole dinner experience was beyond disappointing. It didn't feel like a upscale steakhouse at all until the very end when the bill came out, the prices were surely marked as it was one. read more

My fiancé and I made a reservation online for us to take out both our parents before our wedding. Both our parents are very old and one suffers from a medical condition, so it is very difficult to go out and dine. We were able to secure a reservation for FRIDAY NIGHT. We had to make an adjustment to the reservation. Every time you call you have to speak to an AI/automated answering bot (which is very incompetent) and when you ask to speak to someone at the restaurant no one picks up the phone. We called the restaurant at least (no joke) 20 times, MULTIPLE different DAYS and at MULTIPLE different TIMES. We were, however, able to make the changes on OpenTable and received confirmation from the restaurant/app. Then an HOUR AND A HALF before our reservation, the restaurant cancelled our reservation. THE RESTAURANT/APP CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION. AN HOUR AND A HALF. No call, no explanation. Just received an email from OpenTable telling us our reservation was cancelled. Then we had to SCRAMBLE to find another place to dine that would accept us at the time for our reservation ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. Ended up giving my $700 to RP Prime. read more

Morgan's is a very nice restaurant with ample parking in the back. Only .25 cents per hour meters. Unheard of if you live in NYC. If in New Jersey i would recommend this spot. A little on the dark side but beautiful furnishings. No complaints about service. Got the rib eye bone in 22 ounce. I would recommend medium. The corn and mushrooms sides were very nice. This place is simply EXCELLENT! Being a new spot, I was so impressed by how smooth the meal went from start to finish. Great ambiance, perfect for groups, date night, or a special occasion. I'm always disappointed when I try someplace new for steak, but gave this a shot. I ordered a NY Strip - black and blue. Out came a gorgeous piece of meat, perfectly cooked and seasoned. LOVED that it came with a roasted bulb of garlic. Got a side of broccoli rabe and that too was delicious! Hubs ordered the pork chop and he too was blown away. He absolutely loved it and talked about it the entire ride home. The service: the most attentive, amazing group of servers - we felt as though we were being doted on. Ambience is a modern western decor very fun while still being classy. The staff were attentive, courteous and friendly, especially our waiter Jason. The food, while I felt was too expensive, was excellent! Steaks cooked to perfection, portions on the sides and salads were huge, highly recommend sharing. This BYOB restaurant has only been open for a few months. We were pleasantly welcomed by the hostess, who walked us back to the main dining room that has an upscale western feel to it. Our server was very nice and readily available at all times. We started off with two apps for the table. One was a special- zucchini flowers and the other was the crispy rice sushi roll. Both were very good, although the zucchini flowers were a little too heavily battered for me. For the main courses we all ordered the 10 ounce filet mignon. Each steak was cooked perfectly to their liking. They offer complementary sauces with the steaks. The chimichurri and the steak sauce were liked by three out of the four of us. For sides, we shared Shishito peppers, mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. The side servings were enough for two people, but since there were four of us, we ordered three sides and we finished all of it. They do have an outside patio, where you can dine and they had a live DJ playing fun music. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. Amateur hour in Westwood! And it's all going to cost you a pretty penny. An indicator that you are in for a rough evening, is when multiple confused people show up at your table announcing themselves as your server. One proceeded to apologize and tell me "how overwhelmed everyone is because it is Valentines Day." I didn't have the heart to tell him it was actually Friday the 13th and the restaurant was not even close to packed. If that stresses him out he is in the wrong line of work. Furthermore, you don't trouble customers with this sort of thing. BUT, I digress... 2 stars for the photo of Elvis Presley in the movie Flaming Star! I saw that movie in the theaters, 1961! Actually, 1 star for Elvis and another for the water service (more about that later.) We ordered the Octopus and Fried Pickles as app's. The Octopus was loaded with garlic, but otherwise under seasoned and flavorless and was a comically small portion - a "sliver." Loaded with fingerling potatoes though! The fried pickles were about as "good" as something you would get from a bad food truck. Both (over) priced like it was prepared by a Michelin chef (which of course, it was not.) Next up - the Porterhouse for two. Ordered Medium rare and arrived Medium Well, to actually Well done (i.e.. solid GREY) on the Filet side. Because our server considered his job done after our entree's arrived, it was a chore to find him and flag him down to send it back. It took a disproportionate amount of time to bring us a new one, like 40 minutes. We got multiple apologies but no visit from management (which is customary in a place that fancies themselves "high end") and no offers to comp anything to make things right. Finally we get our Medium rare steak which honestly, was chewy and tough. Our server disappeared like a ghost after we got our Porterhouse "re-do" which is too bad because we needed a few things...like salt for the flavorless steak fries. Maybe he was busy? After all, it WAS Valentines Day! One plus - there is an almost OCD-like fascination with filling your water glass! Take one sip and an arm will magically appear next to you to top it off! This new place is unique because it is half sushi (in the front) and then the back is a steakhouse. It is themed in the back with a cowboy theme and they have the staff dressed up. It is a BYOB menu. On the menu, it said to ask about the mocktails. I asked the waitress, and she said they were still working on it. She then came back and said that she can make one. It was club soda, mint, and sugar like a mojito. It was good, but not worth the $12 surprise I saw when the bill arrived! We ordered different things and all split them. The bread and butter was really enjoyable but not enough butter(which was delicious) I enjoyed the cucumber seaweed salad and the porterhouse steak. This place has potential. It has a lot of offerings as far as food is concerned. Service needs to be better. We waited a long time for our order to be taken. The place was not busy, so I'm not sure why we had to wait so long. It seemed that the waiter may have been newish. He seemed to be very stand-offish and too soft spoken. We weren't asked if we wanted drinks. I had to inquire what was available. We ordered bread for the table and it came with the meal, not as a starter. The mediocre service was the biggest issue. Food: Fantastic quality for the price point. While the kitchen lacked the gold to make their signature 24kt Gold Wagyu Steak Burger, they were able to accomodate my shellfish allergy by giving me a second wagyu steak patty instead of the lobster tail. They also greatly reduced the price due to the lack of gold on my burger. The food itself was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! Presentation was professional and impressive as well! 5/5 Service: Regular check ins, professional staff behavior, and accomodating customer service made me feel welcome and an active participant in the meal. It's a steakhouse! It's Italian! It's got sushi! There is some joke here about this being like a Spaghetti western movie but I can't come up with one, nor is it worth the effort trying to. Sadly, Morgan's doesn't seem to do any of these very well. The lonely DJ sat outside playing music on a cool October night... to nobody. The sushi bar is on the right when you walk in. Nobody was there either. Wife and I were getting nervous and as we waited while the hostess took an overly long time answering questions for someone on the other end of the phone receiver, we thought about turning around and walking right out in that way that married couples can communicate with each other without saying a word. Too bad we didn't follow our instincts. Once you get into the main dining area the place transformed into a western style restaurant with oversized pictures of celebs dressed as cowboys, gigantic murals of horses and... the Addams family movie playing on the big screen TV. Just what you want to see while visiting a Bergen County steakhouse. We played it safe and had the meatballs & whipped ricotta appetizer. There was barely a teaspoon of ricotta and meatballs were large, soft, and quite bland. Skip it. Wife went with the steakhouse burger. It arrived very , very undercooked. She was put off by the other burger on the menu which is Morgan's famous 24kt gold burger for a whopping and tone deaf $100. Seriously, is anybody spending that much in downtown Westwood at a steakhouse that reruns Addams family movies in its dining room? The burger that she sliced in half was sent back and returned to her with both halves cooked to medium and a nice cold piece of American cheese plopped on top of it. Unappealing to say the least. I went with the Alaskan halibut pan-seared with snow peas, shiitake mushrooms, and miso broth. Bland, bland, bland, and bland. Dessert? You're kidding right? As we walked out, another unsuspecting couple walked in and overheard wife asking where the garbage can was for her leftovers. That couple promptly came back out the door the had entered and said they had heard my wife's comment and after less then a minute inside, were smart enough to walk out. I don't usually start reviews off this way but, one of the largest contributors to this 5star rating was simply Jerry. Jerry was our server and he was everything we could have asked for. Fun, engaging, professional, quick, but also gives you all the attention and time you need. Make sure to request him. Now onto everything else. Morgan's takes a different approach to a Bergen County Steakhouse. The decor is very Midwestern Country. There is country music playing over the speakers but not overly loud as others have mentioned. It's also more bright than typical steakhouses which is nice so you can actually see everything. For the food. My wife and I ordered the Crispy Rice and Octopus appetizers. Both were incredible. One side note, we asked for no Truffle Mayo on the crispy rice, just didnt seem like a good pairing. My wife ordered the surf n turf which was cooked perfectly rare on the steak and not over cooked on the lobster. And I ordered the dry aged ribeye with Mashed potatoes and green beans. The ribeye was slightly over the medium I had requested but I didnt argue. Also, as another reviewer mentioned it is served sliced. I understand why but, unless its bathed in butter and thickly sliced it doesn't make any sense. Especially when it comes to leftovers. However, you can tall it is truly aged and it was juicy and full of flavor. Finally a steakhouse that seasons their meat appropriately! The only bummer I had truly were the green beans. They were undercooked and just lacked the zing the rest of the meal had. Overall, this was an incredible dinner for my wife and I. What made it better, its not an expensive place. We visited the recently opened Morgan Steakhouse. We were greeted immediately and brought to our seats. The wait staff immediately ensured that we had water and opened our wine. I ordered an onion soup, because as far as I am concerned, it is the law to order onion soup at any top restaurant that offers it. This may very well have been the best I ever had! We ordered the wagyu steak to share (actually by mistake - I meant to order the porterhouse). It was perfectly cooked at medium rare. It was truly excellent and I appreciated that the waiter asked us if we felt the temperature was right. We did have to wait a long time for the dinner though we did not complain. The waiter, without asking, apologized for the long wait. We also ordered onion rings, which were top notch as well. My only complaint was when the waiter asked us if we wanted multiple small sauces for our steak. Although I had noticed that there was a $9.00 charge for it, if I did not know, the way he asked made it sound like there was no charge. Understand that, like ALL top end steak restaurants, everything is a la carte - even bread. While I would not put Morgan in the same pantheon as Peter Lugar's, this is definitely superior to places like Morton's or River Palm and is among the best in North Jersey. read more

Food: Calamari and shrimp - the best item our party had, although I would prefer it a bit more crispy, the quality of it was decent and overall tasted good with the sauce Tuna sashimi special - tuna not flavorful whatsoever with pieces too thick and not soft at all, the sauce was tasteless, avocado not ripe either Crispy rice toro appetizer - the crispy rice itself was okay, but the fish again was flavorless with an odd spicy seasoning that tasted artificial, could have used more sauce/flavor Halibut - dry, rubbery, unpleasant smell, and tasteless Toro cranchy garly hand rolls - poorly rolled, again the Toro was thick and tasteless, no additional sauce or flavor, again avocado not ripe Salmon belly sushi - salmon was also bad quality, although soft, with no taste at all Overall disappointing given it is a "higher-end" restaurant. Heard some good things about Morgan, and have been meaning to try them for a while since they are so close, so my wife and I decided to give them a go. In checking the menu beforehand, I was immediately struck by how diverse it is. They literally have something for everyone; you're not confined to a single cuisine. Friendly staff greeted us as we entered and showed us to our table. The dining area has an ambiance which I would describe as well appointed and the tables are respectfully spaced. Jose was our waiter and greeted us with a smile and took our drink order. I appreciated that he didn't rush into explaining the specials for the evening and allowed us ample time to become familiar with the menu. I must confess I'm the type to diner who tends to gawk at what the servers bring past as I dine. Everything looked amazing and everyone seemed to be enjoying whatever they had. The manager (sorry I didn't get her name) maintained a careful eye on the room and made a point to stop at each table to make sure diners were enjoying their meals. We both started with the French Onion soup which I thoroughly enjoyed, but my wife felt was a bit too salty. (This was promptly comped and came with an apology from both the waiter and the manager. Impressive!) Regarding the main course, my wife went with the halibut, one of the few fish dishes she will order. Other restaurants may serve it with a heavier cream sauce, but this had a nice light miso type sauce. Excellent! I had the salmon which came on a bed of puréed potatoes, both of which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert, we split (forgot the actual name) espresso poured over vanilla ice cream. Very tasty. This evening at Morgan was an amazing experience and we will definitely come back to try one of the other cuisines offered. My only regret was not trying them sooner. read more

First, the ambiance is rather odd. Wait staff dressed as cowboys, ok...it's a theme. I get it. I'm pretty sure out on the range the cowboys don't eat sushi. Lighting was dark so it was hard to read the menu (and prices). Break out the flashlights on your iPhones! No alcohol license so BYOB. Or...scan the wine menu and the liquor store across the street will bring it to the restaurant. Not for certain, but I'm thinking the server gets a commission based on hard she was pushing it. Service was good, although our server had a Latino accent which made it rather hard to understand. The Diet Coke might as well have been in a shot glass. It was served in one of those tall, skinny glasses. After it was topped with ice, there was hardly any room for soda. Perhaps a BYOB of a 2 Liter should have been planned. Calamari and shrimp appetizer was ok...no tentacles, which is nice to see. Onion rings were pretty good as well. Do NOT GET THE CREAMED SPINACH. Spinach is clearly frozen and there is no cream (more like watery). Filet Minion was good, cooked well. Happy that we tried it. Not sure the area needs an another steakhouse. Probably will head back to Fleming's, Morton's, or The Park Steakhouse if the urge hits. read more

This new spot is off to a great start! Wait staff and overall service is a 10/10! Sherri the manager was incredible! Whenever we try a new place we order a bit extra just in case... hubby started with lobster bisque- this was so good 10/10- highly recommend. Was light, filled with lobster pieces and excellent flavor without being too starchy and thick. I don't normally order this but would next time because it totally HIT!!! I got ceasar salad- and this also was 10/10- perfectly seasoned and great croutons! We got a sushi roll with wague that melted in my mouth! Steak was main with some incredible spinach- solid Dessert- we ordered tiramisu based on Jose (our waiter) recommendation- pressure was on but they totally delivered!!!
