We received our order minus a main meal. I called the restaurant, the manager was lovely. Gave me two options. Credit the missing meal, which wasn't an option as it was my son's dinner or...Order something small from the menu and they will send that small item, plus the missing meal and a complimentary dessert. As they don't have their own delivery guy I had to order something to get Uber Eats to deliver. So with the cheapest thing being corn bread $3.95 plus the delivery fees, their error cost me an additional $14.95. The food did arrive quickly but whomever packed it put the coleslaw upside down and the liquid was all over the bag, covered the meal and soaked the corn bread. And after all that the three pig's meal was flavorless and dry. The 2 stars were for the glazed ribs that were good and the quick delivery. My hubby had the cheese steak also dry and flavorless. I wanna give this place 4 stars, but only had a few of the smaller dishes. I dug the woodsy, plank board decor. The large window front let in lots of light, warming an otherwise chilly fall day. Kudos also to the cool and attentive staff. The candied bacon appetizer piqued my interest, and I was rewarded with 3 impressively thick strips. The shellack of brown sugar was a bit overwhelming though; and lacked any sour or spicy counterpunch. This restaurant's fries were blah; short, stubby, and overcooked. The pulled pork sandwich was surprisingly good though. Sometimes sandwiches are second-tier items for dedicated BBQ joints, but not so here. The (optional) sauce was amazing. Spending so much time indoors during this shutdown, I think about fun outdoor spots a lot, like the patio at Morgan's Barbecue. Located right on Flatbush, it's a great location for enjoying nice weather, people-watching, and having a good meal. I can't compare the BBQ to other places where we've ordered by-the-pound meat and sides, since we've only been here for brunch/lunch, but we've liked what we've had so far. The fried chicken sandwich, brisket hash and biscuits and (sausage) gravy were all delicious. Service was also very friendly. This is my first time trying this spot and I'm going to say that the food is pretty good. We had the fatty brisket, Cole slaw, Street corn and cornbread . For drinks we had a Malibu and pineapple and Tito with club soda. The service was pretty good, we didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitress was really nice she only been there for a week. Went to Morgan's bbq for Father's Day, because whose father doesn't enjoy some southern bbq. The restaurant was incredibly packed, and it was apparent the staff was very stressed, but they still got us in even early for our reservation. unfortunately, it did take over 20 mins for us to have a server come over and bring waters and take our order, despite other groups coming in after and having faster service. However, this might have been a result of us having a larger party of 6. When we finally ordered, and got our food, it wasn't exactly the comfort food I was hoping for. We order 2 of the 6 piece platters that they have, as well as brisket nachos, and collard greens, and their Father's Day special brisket. The specialty brisket was certainly up to par, being seasoned and aged nicely as they said. However, the rest of the meal was extremely under seasoned, and we ended up not eating the nachos because of how burnt they were. I know Morgans isnt the best bbq in town but man do they know how to hit that spot and satisfy your bbq hunger pains. I got the brisket sandwich naked (I sauced it myself) with coleslaw and a side of collard greens. It was just good. It hit every flavor profile i needed it too; sweet, spicy, tender, juicy. I was very happy to hear that all their sides are vegetarian. Most bbq places lace all their side dishes in pork. So for a no pork guy like myself I was pleasantly surprised to have so many options. Thus, there was an unpleasant flavorless porcine aftertaste that had to be drowned with the decent bbq sauce. In addition, the meat didn't fall off the bone and was mostly semi-dry. The sausage was fairly bland and similarly dry. The brisket was probably best, as I asked for the fatty version; it was mostly moist and a fairly good smoky flavor. Still, I've had far more palpably tender brisket at Hometown. The cornbread was pretty good, with the cream adding additional moistness and sweetness. I wish I could give a half star. I am a Day One customer of Morgan's BBQ and the past couple of years have been abysmal. The customer service is terrible, but the food is even worse. Why do they even offer fatty vs lean brisket? It's all shoe leather. Tough, overcooked, under seasoned, flavorless. The absolute worst. Sides? Why bother. The beans taste like little bits of mud and the baked potatoes are rarely cooked through. When Chris & Joel sold the place awhile ago, I feared the worst would happen and it finally has. Morgan's is gross. The food is awful. I called to speak with a manager about an abysmal delivery order today. I said, "It's just not the same since Chris & Joel left." You know what he said? The current manager said, "Thank God." I MEAN, WOW. He could have said, "I'd love to prove you wrong, why don't you come in and let us take care of you." But no. This was our first time going and it was amazing!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Eddie who ended up being our service. He provided exceptional service from the start, he was very attentive and was always checking in to make sure that we were good. He was very informative about the menu and he had an overall welcoming and friendly personality. He truly made the experience even better!! I'll give them the nod, based simply on the quality of their "fatty" brisket. Memphis-borne baby, so BBQ is my thang. But this is a Texas-style joint, so beef is the specialty here (whether they know it or not). I ordered delivery and I was happy with the result. As I mentioned, the brisket stands out- great taste and texture. I also enjoyed their mac-and-cheese and greens. Neither of these sides are *quite* what they're supposed to taste like, but that happens when non-Southern folks try to re-create essentially Southern dishes. That said, loved, loved, loved the cakey corn bread with whipped butter/honey. It's like eating a dessert and bread at the same time. Again, not what it's supposed to taste like, but this version is actually really good. I didn't like their pork ribs but, like I said, that's not a Texas thing. I've been reluctant to review this place for a while, as the first handful of times I've been here it's been a disappointment...but was very, very impressed on my most recent trip. Was intrigued when I heard John Avila, former Franklin pit-master, used to run the show here (although he's been gone for years). The first several times I came here after moving to the neighborhood, I was a bit underwhelmed. However I'm glad I gave it another go, because the last time the brisket was quite good. I ordered a half pound of moist and it was sliced to the perfect thickness; nice smokey flavor, moist, and fatty. Good texture: very tender, but knife still needed. Sauce is a nice mixture of spicy and sweet. I'd say the meat is better than BrisketTown, but not as good as Hometown. The space itself is nice. Bar area with a couple of TVs if you want to catch the game. Sweet outdoor space that spills out onto the street facing Flatbush which is fun place to hangout when the weather is agreeable. This place stood out to me as the food looked appetizing, affordable, and the reviews were good. My boyfriend and I were seated within 5 minutes, which was great because it was freezing outside. Also, the interior was set to a nicely dim yellow light with candles on the tables (bar-type of environment) which was perfect as I was grabbing a nice dinner with my boyfriend. We ordered the 1/2 lb fatty brisket ($15), pulled pork tacos ($2 tacos for happy hour), mac n cheese ($7), and 2 beers. The fatty brisket was the best part about the meal, the meat was tender and delicious with the sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. However, the pulled pork tacos was disappointing as the meat was very dry and the soft tortilla was kind of stale. The mac n cheese was alright; nothing too special except the coconut flakes on top. Also, the service was a little off too; my boyfriend had to wait a while for his beer to come, so he basically finished more than half his food before getting it. I'm normally not too picky about the food taste nor the service, but I was honestly disappointed, because I was looking forward to having a nice dinner before the game. It was a pleasure to be able to eat some really solid barbecue in Brooklyn without having to go to Williamsburg and wait on lines and sit in a barn and eat with hipsters. It was a little troubling to see how empty this place was on a Saturday afternoon, but all the better for me. We had the whole beautiful outdoor seating area to ourselves, which is great on a nice, sunny day. They have a great menu, with all of the staples you would expect from a respectable barbecue joint. They sell several different kinds of meat by the pound, as well as sandwiches, which come with a side during lunch time (11 AM - 5 PM) for a great deal. One of the differences here from a lot of the other places is that they have a huge menu of sides - they have all of the ones you normally see (baked beans, potato salad, collard greens, mac & cheese, etc.), as well as some very different ones, such as the Soft Tacos and the Stuffed Baked Potatoes (which you can stuff with brisket or pulled pork, which sounds amazing). We got the Lean Brisket ($20 per pound) and the Pork Ribs ($12 per pound). The brisket was pretty tasty, but still pretty fatty for lean, but the Ribs were really really great. So meaty and they completely fell off the bone. We also got the Pulled Pork Sandwich was not so great ($10.50). It felt like the guy pulling the pork got lazy and didn't pull it enough - it was more like large hunks of pork that were mostly bland. For the side with that we went with the Potato Salad, which was of the variety that is completely smothered in sauce, so a bit overwhelming. I also wanted to try the Mac & Cheese, until I realized that there is an Elbow Room walk-up window next door, so I got a huge tub of one of the specialty mac & cheeses from there for a delicious side (http://www.yelp.com/biz/elbow-room-new-york#hrid:8B0MN3FShAloKEZNgRq14Q). Omg, what can I say about this place other than it's like what summer should taste like. We ate here on an usually warm November NYC day and it was literally making us all wish it was summer all over again. We were able to eat outside comfortably with our light sweaters and jacket. After seeing a post on Instagram of their Mac n cheese I had to come here and try it! We got here around 6:30 and were seated immediately, but it got pretty packed as the night continued (on a weekday too) so I recommend making a reservation if you don't like to wait The service was great, our waiter kept checking up on us and making sure we were okay. We ordered the Three Pigs, a half pound of fatty brisket, the old school mac and cheese, and a side of mashed potatoes. The Three Pigs came with pork belly, pulled pork, and ribs. The pulled pork was a little dry, but with their bbq sauce it tasted pretty good (especially the spicy one!) the pork belly was a bit tough and over cooked, but the flavor was still great. The ribs were the best of the three, fell right off the bone and not as dry as the other two. It came with sides of coleslaw and potato salad, the coleslaw was a perfect side to lighten the food which was pretty heavy. The potato salad was really good too, just a bit heavy so didn't really cut the fattiness of the meat. We also ordered an additional side of mashed potatoes which was good, but heavy as well so didn't really bring any lightness to the overall meal. The fatty brisket was definitely the best thing here. It broke apart and melted in your mouth, so juicy and delicious! It was the highlight of the night. The Mac and cheese was good, very cheesy and creamy. Eat it while it's hot and gooey, so worth it! Very busy on a rainy Saturday night, came around 8 and the wait was around 10 minutes. I definitely came here because I saw the video of their Mac n cheese being made. Tangy, vinegary and easily accessible in a bottle right there on the table. Lets also talk about the sides offered. All the usual suspects were on the menu - mac, beans, potato salad, etc. For lunch* I had a side of Mac&Cheese with my sandwich and was seriously (and sadly) underwhelmed. The mac had a good cheese factor but the pasta itself was mush, like it had been cooked too long and then sat even longer. So disappointed by the mac. But I'd rather not leave on a negative note- sooo lets talk quick about the look and feel of Morgan's. It's pretty nice. It's most impressive feature would have to be the large open dining room/bar and patio for dining al fresco. Back inside are a handful of booths for more intimate dining. Bonus points for the open window kitchen, lighting and cool wood scraps flooring throughout. Comfortable atmosphere + delicious bbq = a really good visit to Morgan's. Loved the gigantic beef rib. It was a juicy tender short rib that I didn't want to share. The rub used is a touch spicy but so good with the fat from the rib. I know everyone loves the moist brisket here, and man it was mighty flavorful but I was very surprised that the brisket wasn't really fatty. Maybe I'm just used to hillcountry's overly fatty brisket. The cornbread with peppers and honey butter is a must have. Mac and cheese, as well as the beans were ok, but clearly not the star of dinner (for me at least). I came on a Sat night, and found the service to be incredibly friendly but the hostess hard to find. Then I realized she was doubling as waitservice. BARBEQUE!!!! MY FAVORITE!! Morgan's BBQ is probably one of my favorites so far. There is outdoor seating and cute mason jars for your beer! For drinks we ordered a beer and Pineapple Agua Fresca (alcoholic drink). For entrees, we order 1/2 lb of brisket, 1/2 pork ribs (3 pieces), Mac & cheese & 3 tacos (2 brisket, 1 pork). The pineapple Fresca was very refreshing. The brisket melts in your mouth and juicy. Smoked to perfection. The meat on the pork ribs falls right off the bone, yum! Mac and cheese was decent, cheesy and topped with bread crumbs. The tacos are delish, however I wish they doubled up on the taco part cause it fell apart immediately after picking them up. The bill came out to be $58 before tip. Not bad at all for DELICIOUS BBQ! I already recommended this joint to few of my friends!
