We stopped at the store, to get a cold drink. They had ice, but no fountain drinks. Service was over the top friendly, parking was nice, did not appear that many folks were at the lodge on this day. Great spot for off-road riding snacks and such. Cute little spot and over the hill you can go to Lake Mary. The restaurant did not open until three so we had to pass on a meal.

Cabin #11 Loren Grey Cabin

Mormon Lake Lodge is a hidden gem! I wasn't expecting much after reading all these reviews and was more than pleasantly surprised. We stayed in cabin #11 the Loren Grey Cabin. We parked right across the street from the country store and our cabin was right up the steps. There is a huge porch in the front with nice seating. You walk into a large living room with two huge pull out couches, a tv, a stereo/cd player, coat closet and electric fireplace. The tv has directv and a dvd player. There is a full kitchen with four person dining table, full sized refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave and sink. Kitchen included just about everything you'd need to cook a full meal. Pots, pans, knives, can opener, silverware, cups, plates etc etc. If there is anything more you needed it could be requested from housekeeping. There was also a coffeemaker and coffee from Seattle's Best. There is a full bath with tub/shower. The first bedroom had a queen sized bed, dressing table, nightstand and a big closet. The second bedroom had two bunk beds each with a larger full size mattress on bottom and twin mattresses on top. We had eight adults that each slept comfortably and could really have had two more people with no problems. The cabin was clean and well kept so I'm really not sure why there were so many negative reviews. I did have a chance to look at one of their more "rustic" 100 year old (yes, 100 years old!) cabins. They definitely had an older cabin feel but still had a full kitchen, bathroom, and one or two bedrooms. Again these cabins are 100 years old. So they're clean but go in remembering that they are older and won't have the same feel as some of the newer cabins, We made use of the community barbeques and really enjoyed ourselves. The country store has the basics, but I would definitely bring your own meat to grill. The grills were not covered, but the picnic benches were under a gazebo. The restaurant and saloon are a nice touch. We didn't really eat at the restaurant, but did have a nice time at the saloon. There was a band playing live music both nights we were there. Behind the main building there was a playground and petting zoo for the kids. There is also a buffalo habitat and a stocked trout pond. Mormon Lake Lodge is definitely a place we would like to go again. It's a fun hangout for families and/or friends and a great way to get out of the heat.

We are finishing up our three night stay and have had a wonderful time. The area is beautiful and the staff have been wonderful. Our cabin (Elk View Cabin) was nicely sized for ourselves and dog and had a kitchenette with two burners and a mini fridge. The fridge froze all our produce, which was kind of a bummer, but that was because of the setting. The only reason it's a four star instead of five is because every time we used our stove or hot water there is a loud knocking sound coming from the water heater located in a closet behind the cabin. The cabins are rustic and old...but we really enjoyed them. Keep in mind cabin 23/24 don't have covered back patios, whereas 25/26 does. I dunno about the rest. The queen bed is extremely soft and bouncy. We enjoyed the Navajo Springs trail which is right by the lodge. We were bummed we couldn't use the fire pits or grills because it was rainy pretty much our whole stay...we will be coming again! I've included some photos since I know they're hard to find on their website...

This was an interesting place to stay, and I have pretty mixed feelings about it. First of all, the registration process was difficult. I called several times over the course of a few days during business hours before I actually got someone on the phone. When I did, she was quite rude. I would ask if a particular cabin was available, she would ask me the date I was looking for (again), and then tell me no without offering any information about what was available until I specifically asked. We did this go-round a few times before I was able to book a cabin. When I did, it was the Oak Grove Cabin. When we arrived at Mormon lake, the registration area was closed with a sign that said "be back soon". Mind you, it was about 2pm on Friday afternoon, so during business hours. Someone who appeared to be local walked up to the registration area so we asked if she was the person working there. She said she wasn't, but called the person who was and said that she should be back soon. About 20 minutes later the registration worker walked out of the pizza shop across the street and said she'd gotten hungry. We were given two keys (not keycards, keys) and able to check in and find our cabin without too much trouble. Our cabin was listed as sleeping 4 people, and cozy is probably the best way to describe it. There was a queen bed, pullout sofa, and kitchenette with a gas stove/oven, sink, microwave, and dorm sized refrigerator. There were dishes and basic pots and pans in the cabinets. When we made the reservation I looked all over the internet for better pictures of the inside of the cabin and didn't see any so I tried to take some for this review. Overall it was pretty serviceable, although there are definitely things I would change. - Screens in ALL of the windows, and a screen in the front door. Without AC, windows and fans were our only means of cooling and some of the windows didn't have screens. - Fix the water heater. In the shower, the options for water temperature ranged from hot to scalding. We could get cool water out of the kitchen sink though so this might have been more of an issue with the shower. - More outlets. This might be tricky with the age of the cabin and the wiring but more electrical outlets would have been really nice. - Privacy. The only interior area of the house that had a door was the bathroom. There was no door between the kitchen/living area of the house and the bedroom. - Quiet hours. This is more for the campground side but there were people blasting music and driving dune buggies around well into the night. A friend described it as a spring break atmosphere. Overall we were happy with our stay and would probably go back to the same cabin. Someone in a neighboring cabin said that their place only had one small window and lacked the things our cabin had. Some improvements in the atmosphere, and definite improvements in the customer service would be great.

The bar is comfortable, but the service is a little slow, but worth the wait! Enjoyed this place!

We had had the venue booked since February 2020 and they did an awesome job of staying in contact and answering all the questions I had along the way. The property is BEAUTIFUL and the cabins were all stocked with the necessities and super clean! Of course, our wedding day was the only day of the week that there was expected to be thunderstorms...and there were! However, Rick went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the adjusted setup and did everything he could to make sure everything ran smoothly...it was perfect! The day after, their crews helped us clean up what wasn't cleaned up the night before and we were able to check out on time. Seriously, every person at the Cabins on Strawberry Hill is so kind, helpful, and understanding. 12/10 would recommend having your wedding here and don't worry if it rains..Rick has your back and it makes for some pretty epic photos! On our first morning, we arrived at the restaurant around 10:45 a.m. and were told breakfast service was ending. Our only options were to wait for lunch or try room service, which wasn't guaranteed. This was especially frustrating given how far our room was from the dining area. We asked the front desk if we could place a room service order without returning to our room. Although the concierge tried to help, no one followed up for about 15 minutes. While our server was kind, the manager, Ryan, made no effort to resolve the situation or take accountability. Despite the dining area being nearly empty, we were told we could not be seated and had to take our breakfast to go. Hoping for better service the next day, we ordered room service again and were told the wait would be one hour. Our food arrived an hour and twenty minutes later. We were also told the Duck Pond pool was open 24 hours, but when we arrived it was dark, unattended, covered in dirty towels, and had no clean towels available, giving the impression it was closed. While the setting is stunning, the disorganization and lack of service significantly impacted our stay.

Flawless. This is the one!…read more After a long search of the Northern AZ VRBOs for a 4 night stay for 9, we found ClassyCabinsAZ and booked Bearly-A-Cabin for Thanksgiving! The Cabin: Oftentimes something looks better on the Internet than reality, however this was not the case with Bearly-A-Cabin. We drove in from Monument Valley on Wednesday evening and were absolutely floored. You think it looks fantastic in the pictures? It's better! The cabin was absolutely spotless floor to ceiling, and is literally a *complete* home. How complete? We prepared Thanksgiving dinner for 9 here. What did we need to bring to prepare it? Just the food. Everything else was here - baking pans, settings, dishes for numerous sides, cutlery, and every other item needed. Giant dining room table, solid wood and awesome. It isn't like a hotel room or suite - it's a fully operational HOME with literally everything you have in your own and more. Just show up with groceries and you're set for anything. The cabin layout is amazing - very large great room with a sofa at least 2x large as your own, fully stocked kitchen as mentioned above, tons of sleeping options with the 2 king bedrooms ( beds are awesome ) and the 2 bunk rooms + the loft, game room with pool table, decks on both sides of the house and an ACRE of land for hanging out and playing with your kids. The property lines are well marked with rows of large rocks so you know where "your" land is! Being outside on the property was serene - clean air, quiet, relaxing! The Area: This is your home base. We did Grand Canyon, Williams for the Polar Express, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, and Sedona. Nothing is further than 60 miles. Very ideal location if you want to hit the National Parks and Monuments. We left during the first snow on Sunday morning, I bet the place is even more fun with some snow cover! They have sleds and snow toys in a deck box in the front. We joked that even if we just stayed at the cabin and went nowhere it would have been awesome. You just want to be in it, it is so well done and decorated. If you group is large, don't fret - the cabin is plenty large! From initial contact through the end of our stay the process was smooth and painless. Excellent communication from our hosts Amy and Steve throughout! Very quick replies to my many questions prior to booking, as well as after all monies were transferred. The excellent service did not stop with payment in full. So glad we found and booked this - we will be back.
