Between family members we called them over 20 times leaving voicemails, emailed similar amounts and still could not get anyone to call us back over a week and a half time. It's good to know you can still get a good steak dinner with all the sides in a historic rustic setting! We were a party of six, guys had ribeyes grilled to perfection with big fat baked potatoes and cowboy beans! The ladies had generously portioned Cobb salads, chocked full of avocado, bacon , eggs, and a beautiful arrangement of greens, not just lettuce! A couple rounds of beer and wine , this was a memorable dinner. The service was great, and everyone is working hard! Too bad there aren't more servers. We stayed in the non-hook up camping area and it was TERRIBLE! the sites were nice until several camps showed up and competed with each other to see who could play the loudest oom-pah-pah music until 1:30 AM. In addition, I was almost run over by what appeared to be a 7 year old riding an ATV. No parental figure was present, so no one to speak to about the incident. When confronted for the loud music at 11:00 PM because we couldn't sleep, they became very belligerent (appearing very drunk) and only turned the music up louder. There was no one from Mormon Lake Lodge to contact for help with the situation, and as such, I wouldn't stay there again if THEY paid me! read more

we arrived at the dining room at noon, there were 2 tables seated, and another couple in front of us to be seated. The sign stated please waited to be seated. There was a young lady at the TO Go desk but no one else. the young lady at the To Go desk ignored us and the other couple. after waiting for about 5 minutes, the man from the other couple went up to the young lady behind the ToGo desk if they could seat themselves , at which she answered no and then walked away back to the kitchen. We stopped at the store, to get a cold drink. They had ice, but no fountain drinks. Service was over the top friendly, parking was nice, did not appear that many folks were at the lodge on this day. Mormon Lake Lodge is a hidden gem! I wasn't expecting much after reading all these reviews and was more than pleasantly surprised. We stayed in cabin #11 the Loren Grey Cabin. We parked right across the street from the country store and our cabin was right up the steps. There is a huge porch in the front with nice seating. You walk into a large living room with two huge pull out couches, a tv, a stereo/cd player, coat closet and electric fireplace. The tv has directv and a dvd player. There is a full kitchen with four person dining table, full sized refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave and sink. Kitchen included just about everything you'd need to cook a full meal. Pots, pans, knives, can opener, silverware, cups, plates etc etc. If there is anything more you needed it could be requested from housekeeping. There was also a coffeemaker and coffee from Seattle's Best. There is a full bath with tub/shower. The first bedroom had a queen sized bed, dressing table, nightstand and a big closet. The second bedroom had two bunk beds each with a larger full size mattress on bottom and twin mattresses on top. We had eight adults that each slept comfortably and could really have had two more people with no problems. The cabin was clean and well kept so I'm really not sure why there were so many negative reviews. I did have a chance to look at one of their more "rustic" 100 year old (yes, 100 years old!) cabins. They definitely had an older cabin feel but still had a full kitchen, bathroom, and one or two bedrooms. Again these cabins are 100 years old. So they're clean but go in remembering that they are older and won't have the same feel as some of the newer cabins, We made use of the community barbeques and really enjoyed ourselves. The country store has the basics, but I would definitely bring your own meat to grill. The grills were not covered, but the picnic benches were under a gazebo. The restaurant and saloon are a nice touch. We didn't really eat at the restaurant, but did have a nice time at the saloon. There was a band playing live music both nights we were there. Behind the main building there was a playground and petting zoo for the kids. There is also a buffalo habitat and a stocked trout pond. Mormon Lake Lodge is definitely a place we would like to go again. It's a fun hangout for families and/or friends and a great way to get out of the heat. read more

If there was a possibility for zero. that would have been my rating. the cabins were so hot with no help from the staff. no fans offered. No dark curtains to cover the windows where the sun was hitting directly. we knew they was no air conditioning. but they made no adjustments for the hot weather. Our neighbors had the same complaints. stove didn't work. the cabins are run down, spider webs all over the outside of the cabins. the night weather was not cool enough to cool the rooms. it was horrible. Some people only stayed one night. Refund denied. The office had an air conditioner and fans on full blast. I will never go there again. i do not recommend at all. read more

DO NOT PLAN YOUR WEDDING HERE. HERE ARE THE REASONS WHY. #1 Complaint = POOR MANAGEMENT I hope this note finds you well. I would like to share a very recent experience I had at one of your resorts, Mormon Lake Lodge. My husband and I were very excited, and were looking for a quaint type of setting for our wedding to host 120 guests, and we found it with through your company! This past weekend on May 20th we got married there. We had guest in town from New York, California, Colorado, Hawaii, and the list continues... It was a lot of work making this gathering happen and asking so many people from so many different places to come to our destination wedding, but we pulled it off. Here are where a few thing went wrong: 1. Wedding reception hall was a complete mess. It had not been cleaned or prepped for us; we did most of the cleaning ourselves. There were mice feces on the dinner tables. 2. The wedding coordinator (CHRISTINE) inadvertently neglected to serve the agreed upon vegetarian option: stuffed Portobello mushrooms. The 5 guests who preferred a vegetarian option were served rice pilaf with vegetable medley 20 minutes after all 110 guests were already served dinner. 3. Several rooms were not ready for check in. 4. Very unorganized lodging staff that did not prepare for this many guests at the resort, yet all of the reservations were made in advance. They knew many people were coming and what the weekend was going to look like. 5. Number of complaints from friends and family about the cleanliness of the rooms. Items listed above are probably things we could live with. What I am about to share next is something that we find completely unacceptable and are demanding a complete refund of the venue cost. We negotiated and discussed in full detail with the wedding planner and Mormon lake lodge, in advance, when choosing this venue that after the wedding venue closed which was negotiated to close at 10:30PM, the local bar 50 feet away would stay open for our guests to go celebrate at. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. Conveniently around 10:00PM the wedding planner had a word with my husband and I that our ENTIRE wedding party was "BELIGERENTLY" drunk. They also went on the note that we drank 2 full kegs of beer, and that is too much for Mormon Lake... (Spread across 100 people that is not a lot of beer). In short, the Bar across the street was conveniently closed at 10:30PM before anyone had a chance to go there... After having a word with the wedding coordinator CHRISTINE, the bar tender and other staff they were all incredibly rude and dismissive to our agreement to keep the bar open. This was no accident and was purposely closed regardless of what we paid for and negotiated with the management. What I am trying to understand is how customer service is run within you organized? Do you commonly renege on agreements? It is not farfetched to say that this hiccup ruined my wedding. We specifically picked this place so that our guests could celebrate at the wedding, then the bar across the street safely. Since they closed the bar there was no mutual place for everyone to gather and since we are 30 miles from flagstaff, driving somewhere is not feasible. I hope you understand my point. OVERALL, the customer service was horrendous. I have never felt so disrespected and mistreated. We are finishing up our three night stay and have had a wonderful time. The area is beautiful and the staff have been wonderful. Our cabin (Elk View Cabin) was nicely sized for ourselves and dog and had a kitchenette with two burners and a mini fridge. The fridge froze all our produce, which was kind of a bummer, but that was because of the setting. The only reason it's a four star instead of five is because every time we used our stove or hot water there is a loud knocking sound coming from the water heater located in a closet behind the cabin. The cabins are rustic and old...but we really enjoyed them. Keep in mind cabin 23/24 don't have covered back patios, whereas 25/26 does. I dunno about the rest. The queen bed is extremely soft and bouncy. We enjoyed the Navajo Springs trail which is right by the lodge. We were bummed we couldn't use the fire pits or grills because it was rainy pretty much our whole stay...we will be coming again! This was an interesting place to stay, and I have pretty mixed feelings about it. First of all, the registration process was difficult. I called several times over the course of a few days during business hours before I actually got someone on the phone. When I did, she was quite rude. I would ask if a particular cabin was available, she would ask me the date I was looking for (again), and then tell me no without offering any information about what was available until I specifically asked. We did this go-round a few times before I was able to book a cabin. When I did, it was the Oak Grove Cabin. When we arrived at Mormon lake, the registration area was closed with a sign that said "be back soon". Mind you, it was about 2pm on Friday afternoon, so during business hours. Someone who appeared to be local walked up to the registration area so we asked if she was the person working there. She said she wasn't, but called the person who was and said that she should be back soon. About 20 minutes later the registration worker walked out of the pizza shop across the street and said she'd gotten hungry. We were given two keys (not keycards, keys) and able to check in and find our cabin without too much trouble. Our cabin was listed as sleeping 4 people, and cozy is probably the best way to describe it. There was a queen bed, pullout sofa, and kitchenette with a gas stove/oven, sink, microwave, and dorm sized refrigerator. There were dishes and basic pots and pans in the cabinets. When we made the reservation I looked all over the internet for better pictures of the inside of the cabin and didn't see any so I tried to take some for this review. Overall it was pretty serviceable, although there are definitely things I would change. - Screens in ALL of the windows, and a screen in the front door. Without AC, windows and fans were our only means of cooling and some of the windows didn't have screens. - Fix the water heater. In the shower, the options for water temperature ranged from hot to scalding. We could get cool water out of the kitchen sink though so this might have been more of an issue with the shower. - More outlets. This might be tricky with the age of the cabin and the wiring but more electrical outlets would have been really nice. - Privacy. The only interior area of the house that had a door was the bathroom. There was no door between the kitchen/living area of the house and the bedroom. - Quiet hours. This is more for the campground side but there were people blasting music and driving dune buggies around well into the night. A friend described it as a spring break atmosphere. Overall we were happy with our stay and would probably go back to the same cabin. Someone in a neighboring cabin said that their place only had one small window and lacked the things our cabin had. Some improvements in the atmosphere, and definite improvements in the customer service would be great. read more

My family and I stayed at one of the cabins for a wedding. This place is beautiful and has a lot to offer. The cabins are well kept and plenty of room for lots of family members. They cabins have a kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and a coffee machine. They do have a small convenient store but it's all overpriced. I suggest going to Walmart or the nearest grocery store to stock up so you don't spend $15 on bottled water and bananas. read more

But when visiting the store and specialty the bar saloon the two bartenders were super racist the made a face when I Told them about my drinks and when paying he got the money like if it had covid I try to ask another question to the young bartender he totally ignore me. I saw another rv campground review here I really wanted to like this place but we also had no choice when we finally got here so we stayed. 2 night minimum for weekends $44??? 50 amps are taken by the seasonal campers. No fire rings, no cable, no picnic table, weeds are the greenery If the barking dog contest and stereo left on while nobody home and the drunk kids blaring their punk rock music is the thing you like then reserve now. I'll show pics that aren't on their website. Don't expect any security or ANYONE after hours to complain about the noise. They're living in the park so they probably don't want to offend the full timers. I think we were the only drive in camper it's a killer deal to rent a spot for the year and leave all your junk there for us to see. They also seem to buy 2 spots and put up patio decks Imagine a storage facility with full hook ups and a free bbq saturday for about $100 per month BTW I gave 2 stars since the bbq was amazing. I have stayed here in one of the cabins when I was in my teens, and the thrill of staying in a cabin for the first time was pretty rad. The reason that my family even went up to this god forsaken place (that doesn't even have a lake because of the drought) was because my sister and I barrel raced with our horses and an event was being held up there. The cabins are pretty nice and I really enjoyed it so it gets a star. The lodge provides decent fare but at crazy prices so a half star, and the weather is 40 degrees cooler up there than in the valley in July so another half star. But other than that, there is nothing to do at the lodge or around it really. The food is ridiculously overpriced and the service is never good. The first time we had a waitress she kept calling my grandmother and mother "guys" even though they asked her politely not to call them guys... they are big about this and felt it was disrespectful. Then when I was there this past Friday, we got a male waiter and he was OK... kind of rude and walked away while I was asking him a question. He seemed completely disinterested in being dutiful to his job. I would have left, asked for a different server or not left him a tip... he even forgot a glass of Cab that I ordered. But I wasn't paying the bill and was promptly asked to cease and desist. This place is hard to get to and there isn't much to do. read more

I think this place would be great as a basecamp if you are in the area for a hunting trip. If you are looking for a true "vacation getaway," this is maybe good for one night, but, after that, the enthrallment wears quite thin. The lake and surrounding territory is very beautiful, but, again, if you're not out and about fishing or hunting, there really isn't very much to do. The cabins were nicely apportioned, but old and a little run-down. Carpet was probably older than I am--not sure why that could not have at least been replaced a few years ago. Prices are a bit steep for what you get. $159 for a room with 2 Queen beds, a kitchenette, and a small bath. Less than $100 would have been a decent price. Particularly since they didn't even have soap in the showers. Mounted on the wall was a pump dispenser for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash--and, of course, the body wash pump was empty. We ended up filling a plastic cup with liquid soap from the sink "pump station" to wash ourselves. I guess we could have called for assistance, but at 9 PM when we were ready to go to bed? Just expected more for the price we paid--one would think that the cleaning crew would have checked this after the previous guests departed. The steakhouse was a disappointment. After watching their review on "Arizona Highways" we expected something spectacular. Their T-Bone was extremely small--I ordered it Medium and it arrived almost bloody. They did take it back and re-grill it for me, but by that time the letdown was complete. Wife's salmon was OK. Salads were huge, but not sure how you can have a "bad" salad. Beef stew was good. Home-made brownie was delicious, but not sure the $7+ price-tag was worth it. To sum up the dining experience: we checked out in the morning without eating and looked for (and found) a great breakfast site (cheaper, too) as we wound our way through unknown territory. I don't think we'll be back to stay . . . may pass through again on our way somewhere else North. For the price, the lodgings and food could be a little bit better maintained/improved. read more

Trying to be as nice as possible... but.. where to start. Check-in showed up at 4 & they were closed. Had the wrong cabin and charged me extra for an out of date 1960s 2 top burner stove. Fan squeeked all night along with holes in the floor and I about fell through the holes in the shower. The walls are plywood the beds are like sleeping on concrete with sheets that are probably 25 years old and today it rained. The roof leaked so bad down the fireplace that for 3 hours we heard loud drippings down the wall to where we finally called maintaince. In addition, the fireplace has currently been out sense 4pm yesterday and you hear every noise next door possible. The fridge is a college fridge. Trying to be nice but for the price this is awful! Should've just got a flagstaff hotel! The manager is cold as ice, don't expect anything nice from her either! read more

Stayed here for the boyfriend's 60th birthday. We got a tiny room in one of the 4-plexes. The room was old and dingy but the view was great, backing up to the forest. A good value at $60 for two week day nights. You get what you pay for. The rooms are crying for an update but were clean. Pizza place isn't open until Thursdays, so that was a bummer. Restaurant food pretty good but pricey. Forget about breakfast during the week...the restaurant doesn't open until 11 AM. This place could be great if it were properly managed. read more

They don't know how to react if they get significant snow. 41" of snow and the response for trail grooming is "we might get to it next week". I had the best Mother's Day weekend at Mormon Lake Lodge. I went with my husband and 3 yr old for the Mother's Day Package. When we got there it was like driving into a little western town that you see in the movies (post office, store, saloon, steakhouse and museum). The friendly staff greeted us with smiles and the Lodging Manager Tamara was awesome! Our room was a Pine View Cabin with a fireplace which was so relaxing. It is very peaceful here and at night it was so quiet and the sky was filled with a blanket of stars. We walked their trail with our 3 yr old and loved it! There is a petting zoo, horses, buffalo and a playground amongst the simple beautiful scenery of the country. The Steakhouse is a rustic restaurant with picnic table seating with western memorabilia on the walls. Our servers at lunch, dinner and brunch were great! The food was delicious, the french onion soup is the best I have ever had! The Rib Eye and Ribs were spot on. At the Mother's Day brunch there were flowers to Mom's on arrival - the spread was a festivity of deliciousness - Mimosas, rib eye, mahi mahi, large shrimp cocktail, on the spot omelette's of your choice, eggs benedict, biscuit and gravy, scalloped potatoes, soup, pastries, salads, etc. and a variety of delicious desserts. I am truly relaxed today after this memorable weekend. Everyone from the GM, Lodging Manager, Cleaning Crew, Wait Staff, Store employees and Horse handlers were very attentive and genuinely friendly which is refreshing. I felt like I was part of a family here and recommend this place to everyone. We have a new tradition - definitely Mother's Day here yearly and can't wait to come back for 4th of July in the Summer, Fall and Winter as often as we can get out of the city! read more

Terrible. The camp ground RV spots are so close together that it's impossible to relax or have any privacy - or even a semi-normal conversation. We happened to come on a weekend with some sort of herbal / crystal healing convention, so the two-stall restrooms were always busy and actually muddy. The convention had a music tent that would play loudly until 11pm. And of course because the neighbors are so close we could hear every drunken argument. The other neighbors felt it was appropriate to set off bottle rockets at midnight and blare a very raunchy comedy show on their outdoor tv. I cringed for the parents nearby. That lasted until our other drunk neighbor stumbled over and started and argument. The animals in the park seem to be in good / cared for shape and that part was nice -- hand feeding hoofed animals. The restaurant was good with avg service. The grounds were muddy and mostly liter-free. Biggest complaint was crowded compartments and clear lack of a camp host enforcing any rules whatsoever. read more

I am absolutely DISAPPOINTED with the service here! We sat and waited for our food for over 1 hour and 30 minutes( this is the only place to eat if you forget food DONT FORGET FOOD!!) . When we FINALLY were served our food it was wrong the bison burger was overcooked and nasty ( but had to eat forgot food ) and the steak was undercooked. When I sent the steak back they told me I would have to wait another 20 minutes for the new one. NOPE TAKE IT OFF I SAID!! No manager came to ask if they could make it better. Mormon lake steakhouse boy did it used to be great when I was a kid we all went there and had the best burger and the best steaks in town and the entertainment was fantastic also. My brother and I and my family thought we would all check it out to see how it's doing now and boy what a big disappointment. We ordered our food and it took forever and when it finally came back our burgers were completely over done we told the waitress and she sent the manager over to speak with us we told her what our situation was and that our burgers were overcooked she was very unprofessional and acted irritated at us. We tried to explain to her that we ordered medium rare burgers and we got well done burgers after waiting 45 minutes to get our order. She then walked away and never came back, Well talk about great customer service. Looks like this place is nothing like it used to be it's a shame because it used to be special. I see other reviews of people that had the same issues and the staff is unwilling to help you. I guess they don't care if you ever come back so keep that in mind next time your thinking about going to the Mormon lake lodge steakhouse. Not only are you touching elbows with the sites next to you, but you also get to enjoy many different campers music going all hours of the night just like it's coming from your own tent. All I can say is: Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone for reservations or otherwise. I tried for a solid week May 10th - 16th 2012. Yes, I had checked the website, which appeared to be current. Yes, I called the right phone # as published. Yes, the auto attendant proclaimed "Mormon Lake Lodge". Yes, I left messages and even attempted 3 different electronic messages via the website and e-mail. In total, I tried more than 5 different days and left the above messages. Never heard a word. I'm guessing that they are closed. That is, until I read an article this past weekend on the hotel in the AZ Republic. So out of curiosity, I write to the journalist -- his response was "no, I didn't try to make a reservation." Apparently, he got the same non-answer I got. I wish them no ill-will, but by all means, if you plan to be in business again, please update the info that you potential patrons receive. Don't know what else I can say. read more

My family and I came here for a quick weekend getaway and loved it! Our cabin had everything we needed, steps away from horse riding, a restaurant, country store, fishing pond, rentals for off-roading, walking trails. Plenty of space and amenities (mini fridge, stove, microwave, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, pots, pans, flatware, tv...) and a nice view of the woods made it even better. The staff are friendly as well. We ordered out flapjacks and French toast which were made quickly and tasted great. Several reviews complained about reservations/check in, my impression it's a sweet little old lady who runs it and she isn't great with computers, we did booking online and had no issues. My husband and I brought our two sons for a weekend at the cabins. LODGING: We stayed in an Elk View cabin. The accommodations were okay. The queen size bed was comfortable enough. The pull-out couch/bed was awful, and both of my sons complained of sore and achy bodies for two days. This is significant because my kids, like most, will sleep anywhere! The first night we discovered the queen size bed did not have a fitted sheet on it. The second night it did. The room has a stovinkerator (combination stove/sink/refrigerator) which we all got a kick out of. The room was stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, as well as a cutting board, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker. There was plenty of hot water for showers, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash was available in a dispenser in the shower. The shower needed a good cleaning, unfortunately, and we ran out of toilet paper and didn't have a replacement roll. There were also two dead bugs on the bathroom vanity when we arrived... and they were still there after the cleaning crew came the next day. If you go into it with a "camping" mindset rather than a "hotel" mindset, you should be pleased. RESTAURANT: We ate three meals at the restaurant. The first meal was dinner on our first day. The portions were big, and the food was tasty. They didn't have A1 for our steaks, but the steaks were flavorful enough we almost didn't miss it. The next meal we TRIED to eat was breakfast, but we were unsuccessful. The menu says breakfast is served until 11:00 a.m. Unfortunately, they stop seating for breakfast at 10:30. So if you arrive at 10:35 like we did, they will not serve you breakfast and they will not even seat you until the kitchen has served the last breakfast order! We waited until a little after 11:00 before they allowed us to be seated for lunch, our second meal at the restaurant. I got the Prime Rib Dip sandwich, which was very bland. I love prime rib dip sandwiches, but would never order this one again. My kids got chicken tenders - again. My husband got a burger, which looked good. Our third meal was dinner. They had A1 this time, and the steaks were delicious again. I was pleased to see that the vegetable was different from the night before (a tex-mex corn the first night, and a medley of zucchini, green beans, and carrots the second). My older son chose chicken strip again. My younger son chose to not eat. We TRIED to eat breakfast again the next day, and made sure to arrive soon after the restaurant opened, but NO ONE ever came to seat us. We waited for 10 minutes at the hostess station and could not find anyone to flag down to seat us. So we gave up on ever having breakfast here, and went to Flagstaff to eat at Mike & Ronda's The Place instead. Those times we did get to eat at the restaurant, the service was good, the servers were cheerful, and the place was clean enough. We didn't hate our time here, but we won't be returning. read more

Mormon Lake Lodge is a great place to getaway from the city life or the heat in the summer months. They have an amazing steakhouse, bar, market, pizza parlor, horse back riding and cabin rentals. This is my home away from home. Been coming up to our family cabin since I was born. Come visit the great town of Mormon Lake!!!!! read more

The whole family went to a little get-a-way last weekend! We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cabins. The description says it sleeps 12...we had 5 adults, 2 kids and 2 babies and we were crammed in there! Also, there is only 1 small bathroom. The cabins are newer and have nice decks. I felt like the cabin was pretty dirty (as my daughters were filthy from crawling around on the floor). The linens were older and didn't feel clean. I had to remind myself we were "camping" and to get over it! If you go don't forget to bring paper plates and cups. The cabins are stocked, but who wants to do dishes when you could be outside enjoying the weather. The actual grounds were wonderful! There was a little fishing pond and my 9 year old nephew had a ball catching (at last count) 7 fish! There is a petting zoo and bisons and horses. We had a family game of horseshoes and volleyball. I wish I would have had more time to explore the trails. The restaurant was good! Our server was friendly! I had the salmon and it was delicious. Rest of fam had some form of steak and everyone said it was really great. My husband and brother enjoyed the saloon! So overall, cabins served their purpose but would have felt better if they were clean. A wonderful place to hang out outside and enjoy the weather. Great steakhouse! A great place to relax and hang with your family and friends! We'll go back, but with cleaning wipes and our own bedding! (Also easy to find and the whole town was very friendly and welcoming!) read more

Made room reservations for the weekend. Two night minimum, but the rooms were affordable and according to their web site were queen size beds. I thought the rooms might be in the lodge. Turns out they have set up some single wide trailers across the street and split each one into four tiny rooms, with double beds. Most miserable night of sleep in recent memory (wife agrees) the one night we stayed there. No shampoo or soap in the dispensers in the shower. I would avoid the "Roundup" rooms at all cost. Well another trip, another chance to do better, and another severe disappointment. This restaurant really has been ruined. The burgers were just as over cooked and as bad a quality three months later. This time though, to add insult to injury, the orders were made incorrectly as well. Even the chicken strips were terrible this time, over cooked in old oil. We will definitely not be back unless ownership changes hands and receives some excellent reviews. We will just have to drive into Flag from now on. I imagine the only things keeping this place afloat are the great bar tenders and the fact that there isn't much more than pizza to be had in town. read more

After a very long drive, we pulled into Mormon Lake Lodge cabins for one nights rest. As a cardiac patient, I really needed a place to lay down, elevate my feet and cool off. My feet and legs swell up horribly when they've been "down" for too long. We were told check in was at 4pm. We had three hours to kill. When we finally were able to go in to our room, it was filthy . We were given a map with room #34 highlighted, but given a key to room #33. Bed wasn't made, trash cans were full, and there were towels etc on the bathroom floor. What's worse, is that the office also CLOSED at 4m. NO ONE available to straighten this out for us. I was grateful that the gift shop was open, and the lady there was willing/able to call the manager of the cabins for me. A man showed up several minutes later with keys to room #32, ‍‍. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this Lodge. read more

After reading numerous bad reviews online I was skeptical of coming back to the place I had so loved as a kid. I was so happy to see that the lodge was even better than I remembered. I went up to the lodge with 7 friends, and the cabin was large enough to fit everyone comfortably! We stayed in one of the large family style cabins and had a blast! We spent a lot of time just hanging out on the large front porch! The cabin was actually very clean and had everything we needed including a blender, coffee maker, and stereo (although I would bring an aux cable to hook up your ipod). The lodge also has 2 great BBQ areas where we were able to grill our food and make s'mores. The weather was excellent (this is an amazing way to get out of the valley heat without going too far) and the lodge staff was so helpful and prompt in sending us extra towels or anything we needed. The added benefit of staying at the Lodge is that you not only get that great cabin feel, but there is a country store where you can buy any supplies you may have forgotten (we picked up snacks, charcoal, eggs, etc.), a saloon for late night drinking and dancing, and a great restaurant for the times where you don't feel like cooking/grilling. We also went on the 1 hour horseback ride, which was slow but definitely a good way to see some of the trails around the lodge. I am already trying to get another group together to go back! This was definitely a fun trip and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a quick weekend trip with friends or family! read more
