Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. I ordered the red chile enchiladas, and the sauce tasted more like an overly salty, spicy barbecue sauce than traditional red chile. I took two bites and couldn't continue. The beans seemed canned rather than homemade, and the rice was dry. My fiancée ordered the burger and had a similar experience. After only a couple of bites, he pushed his plate away. The patty was dry and heavily over-seasoned with pepper. The service timing was also disappointing. I waited more than 40 minutes just for a cup of coffee and nearly an hour for our food to arrive. For a meal that cost around $42, the quality and wait time did not meet expectations. The only positive was that the employees were friendly and courteous throughout our visit. Excellent hospitality, great service, and the owners really care about customer service and the experience they provide. It's hard to find this now days. It's is homey, comfortable and cutely decorated. Our meal was cooked with fresh ingredients and done to perfection. I had the breakfast special which comes with a red or green chile sauce, I chose both but on the side. The sauce is home made every morning. The coffee has a great favor and my cappuccino was amazing. They can add, take off anything on the breakfast special. They also can do a vegan meal even though it's not on the menu. Stopped here for lunch while on a ride from Santa Fe to Angel Fire. Kinda slow for a Wednesday midday - I was the only one until a couple showed up. Ordered the special for the day - chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, salad and green beans. Made fresh daily the owner said. It was delicious. Other dishes on the menu appears to be mostly Mexican fare. Ambience was average with nice background music. There was even a Christmas song! Husband and I were visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire and stopped in for lunch. The menu has a wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch items. We ordered the day's special of three cheese patty melt and it was delicious! The owner said that his wife made everything fresh and you knew that was true with the first bite! The owner was friendly and stopped to chat a bit, his wife waved to us from the kitchen and the waitress was friendly, efficient and personable. Lots of friendly and welcoming pictures and wall quotes, clean and delightful decor. Their business cards say, "Come as a guest and leave as a friend."
