I came here after searching on Yelp! for a new tailor. The previous tailor I visited was overpriced & was heard to understand. Came to Marrows and they knew exactly what I wanted & the dress I brought was rayon/nylon. I knew it would be difficult to alter due to the material & pattern but they do an excellent job! My dress was perfect & they finished in a timely manner. I only paid $40 and probably would've paid at least $60-70 elsewhere. I definitely recommend them!!! read more

I got back from Vegas recently and found a hole in my favorite suits jacket sleeve. I havent had anything tailored since moving from the bay and hadnt a clue where to go so I checked Yelp. Went to Morrows, older gentleman tells me he can fix the hole, I am doubtful but what do I have to lose. I come back a week later. I check the left sleeve dont see a repair, so I check the right sleeve and cant find a repair there either. Perfectly done, couldnt have asked for more. read more

This is a great little tailor shop tucked away in the Safeway Shopping Center. I have only had pants hemmed and taken in, nothing else. But I was satisfied with the end results. I had several pairs of pants taken in, so the staff worked with me on the price. read more

Red flag #1: I had a $50 dress that needed a temporary hem, one layer- charged me $55. Why would the alteration cost more than the dress itself? Red flag #2: After a week, I returned at the pickup time (TH) - dress wasn't ready. Returned two days later and it still wasn't ready. Red flag #3: Dress wasn't hemmed to the correct length (too long. As I had a choir concert that Saturday I picked up the dress, I couldn't ask him to redo it) HUGE Red flag #4: When I walked in to pick up my dress, a girl was distraught at her prom dress. She had wanted some straps sewn onto her dress and instead got cheap tulle cap sleeves that hung off the shoulders. The lady kept saying "It looks so good, you will be so beautiful!" but I could see that the "sleeves" weren't even completely sewn on. It looked like crumpled material had just been attached with safety pins, and it wasn't even the same color as the dress. The girl demanded a refund or a free redo (she had been charged $90 for the sleeves) and the lady refused, saying it was spectacular handiwork and that the price was "discounted" from other places that would have otherwise charged $120. Overall, I find this place expensive (at least for a job-less college student), and I should have known about hemming tape beforehand. From these two experiences (mine and seeing the prom girl) their expertise is quite lacking. read more

I have a Service Dog whom I needed patches sewn on to her vest. I brought the vest and patches to Marrow's when they opened at 9am and asked if they could do it same day. They were very friendly and polite. They told me they could do it same day and would have it ready by noon. I picked up the vest around 1pm and it was all done. The vest looks great and the patches were sewn on perfectly. They are centered and straight. He was able sew on the thread line in the patches so you can't even tell where it's been attached to the vest. Excellent job! I will bring all future sewing needs to him. This is old school tailoring at its finest. They are pleasant to spend time with, knowledgeable, have an eye for detail, and truly care about the end result. I have had a few custom suits made, so it's hard to feel comfortable in something that isn't made for me. I have brought them off the rack shirts, slacks, blazers, and coats - you can't tell they weren't custom made! They take their time with you, and won't hesitate to provide insight and advice that prevents you from making a bad decision. For example, I have a vintage blazer from the 60's my father gave me. It's special to me, and I really wanted it to fit. They were able to make some difficult modifications (neck roll, shoulders, lapel) and you can't tell. I wanted to keep the larger vintage lapels, and trusted them enough to believe them when I was told it would look strange with the new modern tailored fit they provided. I allowed the lapels to be narrowed - which is risky and not easy - it turned out to be the right move! Some have mentioned pricing as a concern. You pay for quality work, and practiced craftsmanship...if you want dry cleaner prices, expect dry cleaner quality work. This shop doesn't just match one side on hems or sleeves, they measure each side to account for 1/4" longer limbs, or more room for a watch in a sleeve. They measure twice, cut once, and get it right the first time. The prices are reasonable for the quality of work, everything they provide, and the travel time to get there is worth every mile and minute. read more

Took in a suit I bought online (I know) to get tailored. Man who worked with me was very nice and seemed to know his craft quite well. I think he talked me into additional tailoring that was not necessary which now makes the suit a little tight but I'd rather it be form fitting then baggy. I found them to be overpriced, and the tailoring job was terrible. I went to them after looking at other Yelp reviews and thinking this place did quality work. Well, I was terribly wrong. They are not only overcharging but they do a terrible job tailoring! They are also quite rude to their customers, which is clear from some other Yelp reviews. I asked them to take in a dress for me. Initially, I asked them to take it in from the sides, which is what my usual tailor does. The lady who was helping me laughed at me and told me I was wrong and the dress needed to be taken in from the back (I don't mind being wrong as I am not a tailor, but the laughing part was just rude). I should have trusted my own advice because now when I wear the dress, it feels uncomfortable in the back and armpit area and the chest area fits awkwardly. Because of the way they tailored the dress, it's pulling at the sleeves causing the stitching to come undone. Now I will have to go to a different tailor to get the dress fixed ( I hope it's even fixable). Unfortunately, I won't be returning. This place was very disappointing. read more

Oh, my husband and I are so very happy with the very professional alterations we had done at Morrow's. I took to them a leather bomber jacket that someone else had totally botched, and I can't see where that botched job was anymore. This is the second Yelp review I've written, because I have a high bar for what I consider to be great service. Roman and Pancho deserve it. People don't realize there's an art to expert tailoring. If you care about these things and know what to look for, you'll see the pride in their work. If not, you'll just be satifsfied their work lasts and won't fall apart in a year. I wouldn't trust my suits to anyone else. And apparently capital types don't either, as I've seen the speaker of the assembly there twice and other legislators, staffers too over the years. A friendly gentleman greeted me and measured me for the hemming of a couple pairs of jeans. He was very accommodating and attentive. He had my pants ready within a few days and they were perfect!
