Mortons is Mortons, its pretty much the same everywhere. You're going to get a pretty good steak with solid sides and fairly poor value ($120 per person without drinks). The service is always really consistent here and I appreciate the view. I recommend a reservation if you go on the weekends and it can still be difficult to walk in even on random weekdays. read more

There is a bar area which have only tall tables , since I have bad knees we couldn't sit there, so we choose to dit in the restaurant area. They have amazing drinks and a vast list of wines. Morton's Steakhouse is located inside the Caribe Hilton Hotel, but you can't access it directly through the hotel--you have to enter from the outside entrance. Once inside, the ambiance immediately stands out. It's dark, stylish, and has that "sexy" atmosphere they're clearly going for. We were greeted by the host right away and only waited a couple of minutes before being seated. I definitely recommend making a reservation, as I did. Once we sat down, however, it took quite a while before our server came over. The restaurant didn't seem too busy, so I'm not sure why the delay. By the time she arrived, we already knew what we wanted to order, so we placed our drink and food orders together. They started us with table bread, which was very good. I ordered a Caesar salad, which was also solid. For entrées, my daughter had the filet mignon and a baked potato--she loved both, especially the potato, which she devoured completely. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes. Honestly, it was just okay. The salmon was a bit too dressed up for my taste (I should've asked them to leave off the olives), and the mashed potatoes were nothing special. For dessert, we tried the cheesecake, and again--it was fine, but not memorable. One thing I wasn't thrilled about was the pacing. We were there for about two hours, which felt long given that we had already decided on everything quickly. If you're expecting fast, New-York-style service, you won't find that here. I so Love Morton's but it missed the ball on this one. We went there to celebrate my sister's birthday. The ambiance and atmosphere was really cozy and chill. Service was pretty good. My sister was able to sample a couple of wines, on which she didn't prefer but me on the other hand, it was right up my alley. Both of us ordered the Ribeye Steak and shareable sides, mashed potatoes, asparagus, greenbeans, corn. They had to take away the greenbeans and corn because my sister was allergic to a few ingredients they cooked in them. It wasn't that appetizing. My steak was not good. The steak had a gamey taste too it, it was still alive in my mouth. I didn't make a fuss of it. I just paid for it. The worst steak that I've had. At least the wine was good. It was a packed house when we arrived. Definitely a lot of locals, which I believe is always a good sign! We enjoyed cocktails at the bar while we waited for our table that was almost given away due to mistaken identity. I guess someone else had decided to stay at the bar to eat rather than take their dining room reservation and the host was confused thinking it had been me. It was all sorted out very quickly. Service was very friendly and everyone was really working hard to serve the shoulder to shoulder crowd. Very unfortunately, the ladies room was a disaster with a floor drain backing up. There was no hook on the door for my bag and it fell in the water while I was struggling to find a spot to place it. So THAT wasn't great but we persevered. The dining room was very busy and the volume level made it hard to have a conversation. There were several large tables around us and they were in the mood to celebrate! Morton's has an excellent wine list. We enjoyed a great bottle of Pinot Noir that is not often found in restaurants so this was a bonus and definitely improved my mood after the ladies room debacle! King crab legs and ribeye steak were delicious. The steak was under medium rare but we didn't mind at all because we prefer it a little under rather than over. It was very tender and flavorful with giant asparagus as a perfect accompaniment. Much to our surprise, a delicious chocolate lava cake arrived with compliments of the restaurant and despite being very satisfied we still managed to polish it off in no time at all! Those of us in the service industry know too well that things do go wrong despite our best efforts. The measure of great service is how we manage through it. We had a wonderful farewell meal at Morton's the steakhouse. Reservations are a must, and we were seated immediately. By the time we left, there was not one vacant table. We were seated at a table overlooking the cove, which was a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Everything is top shelf here, including the wait staff. I ordered a martini to start and my waiter recommended at Gorgonzola filled Olive, which was a fabulous addition to a wonderful vodka martini. My granddaughter and I shared both the shrimp and crab cocktail, both being fabulous, fresh and tasty. Being a steakhouse I had to order a small filet, cooked to perfection along with traditional sides. The lobster mac & cheese was exceptional, being full of lobster. Chose this place for our first night stay at Caribe Hilton bc it's in the lobby so super convenient. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Arrived about 45 mins early and they asked us booth or table and went to set it up. Complimentary warm loaf of bread while you look at the menu. Ordered the Greek salad vegetarian (normally done with salami) Szechuan green beans, Brussels sprouts, bacon, truffle fries and filet. Waitress was great after I ordered my salad vegetarian she came back from the kitchen to let me know the Brussels come w bacon on it and gave the option to have it made without. For the main course, we ordered the 16oz prime New York strip cooked medium, though it leaned more towards medium rare. We chose sides of Brussels sprouts, lobster mac and cheese, spinach, and a baked potato; they were decent but not outstanding. The chocolate lava cake was good. This is not Wagyu and I'm not entirely sure it's even a ribeye, the cut looked and had texture more like a New York strip. Made a reservation two months in advance for Christmas Dinner, on the reservation we specifically stated that we were celebrating and requested a quiet table near a window. When we were led to a table in the middle of the room by hostess, I requested an other available table in a corner instead, the hostess was visibly annoyed by this and made us walk back to waiting area to see if she could "accommodate this" and came back after a couple of minutes to bring us to the corner table. Mind you, I had made a window table request on the reservation, which I didn't even bother mentioning and it was just a request for literally the next table over but it was just such a petty reaction to make a point of chastising us for making a request that had literally been on the reservation, so it did leave a bad first impression. Luckily, the rest of the meal was very pleasant, thanks to our terrific waiter, Carlos. He welcomed us, wishing us a Merry Christmas and gave us ample time to go over our menu. The food was quite good, though we did experience some hiccups, like my lobster bisque was barely lukewarm by the time I received it. It didn't stop me from eating it as is but if it wasn't a busy Christmas meal service, I probably would have requested a warmer serving. Also, one of our steaks was overcooked, which was corrected but we did have to wait a while since the restaurant was pretty busy. At the end of our meal, Carlos brought us a wonderful Carrot Cake we had spied being served to another customer for my spouse's birthday dessert, and took our photo and presented us with a copy of the photo in a card, which was a wonderful momento of our meal and a very nice personalized touch. Went to Morton's for Christmas dinner. It was festive and packed but we were seated immediately with a reservation. The wedge and Caesar salads were good, as was the French onion soup. The lobster ravioli was mediocre. 2 of our steaks were cooked well, the third was overcooked and sent back. A new steak was brought immediately (too quick to have been cooked to "medium") and was rare - raw in the middle. I kept the steak and was able to eat around the outside. We ended with 2 ice creams and 1 "Mortinis." Overall the food was good but pretty standard steakhouse fare. Our bill was around $700 (we also had a bottle of Veuve). We tipped 16% and the waiter chased us down as we were leaving to request that we increase the tip to 20%. We did just because we were so caught off guard, but I have to say that has never happened and it was quite appalling. See, the [many] emails Morton's sent me (too many by the way) included a Thanksgiving offer - so I decided to invite family and share a nice Thanksgiving dinner. For my surprise the waiter told us they had no Thanksgiving offer and that the regular menu was the only option. I didn't wanted to leave nor to damage my familiy enthusiasm, so we stayed and had regular (ultra expensive - no value) dinner. The fried onions were okay. The asparagus was cooked well but not very flavorful. The Brussel sprouts weren't cooked to my liking. I like my Brussel sprouts crispy and seasoned with salt and pepper. But they were kind enough to pack some balsamic glaze in the to-go bag so I could season it for a later meal. The ambiance is very classy, which is reflected in the pricing of the meals. Next up was the jumbo shrimp cocktail, which included some very large shrimp but the cocktail sauce detracted from the dish if anything. It had almost no kick, even when adding the horseradish and was far too sweet. Last up for the mains was the Bone-In KC Strip with Black Truffle Butter. My wife and I were ready to enjoy an excellent dining experience while stopping over in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, this was not it. We had reservations but we're told to sit and wait while others appeared and were seated - what's the point of making the reservation? The dress code states business casual, but many were dressed in shirts, shorts and tennis shoes - again, what's the point of a dress code - I can be as casual as the next guy, but we dressed for a nice experience. OK, now the food - the filet mignon was tasteless. $50 for an 8 oz piece of meat with no flavor was disappointing to say the least. The sides were OK. Starting off with our waiter Edwin, he made our night even more special, me and my boyfriend were celebrating our anniversary and early christmas dinner. Edwin was very helpful giving us tips on what we should get. He was very respectful, knew right away what suits us best. Not just him but the ambiance was very quiet and romantic. Since we got in, the hosts greeted us very nicely and they atleast had our table and Fogo de chai had us waiting for more than 25min for our table and they were very rude to us. We had an awesome time here. The food was delicious made to our perfection, drinks were so good too. But next time you visit ask for Edwin he's very kind and someone who actually is a people's people. He even gave us suggestions on where to go in the island which was much appreciated.
