We were looking for a place we could get a quick breakfast for a large group and Mort's delivered. We called ahead for a dozen bagels and various cream cheeses. Everything was ready when we arrived and the staff was very friendly in both taking and delivering our order. When we got the bagels to our home-away-from-home, they were obviously fresh and tasted delicious. We would definitely go back back next time we are in town! read more

It's been a while since I've had a bagel place to visit regularly, and this doesn't disappoint! I haven't tried everything but Morts seems to be a staple of the downtown area and every time I've gone it's been good. I just wish they made more bagels since selection seems to be limited... but maybe I just have to get there earlier! read more

Mort's at this time is as good as it gets for bagels in Cheyenne. I like their finish (crust) which improves with light toasting, they are somewhat chewy (which I wish was more so like a New York bagel, but this isn't New York). If you like a more chewy bagel either get there early and see if they have any "day olds" or buy some and wait 24 hours to enjoy them (they really do get better). Fresh they suffer from the same problem that many other non-New York bagels do, "squishiness" or being so "bun like" that they need to use whipped cream cheese instead of block cream cheese or else the bagel gets crushed. Mort's has a consistency in their product which means what you get one day will be like what you get the next. Their Salt Bagel has just the right amount of salt crust as do their Everything or any other "crusted" bagels. They have a wide selection of spreads and toppings from which to choose. The people who work here seem to really like being being here and that makes it all the nicer. Mort's is somewhat of an institution in Cheyenne. They are part bagelry, coffee shop, part art gallery, part place to chill and visit while enjoying what they sell. It is not uncommon if you live in the area and dine in to have someone come in who knows you and say "hello." There is both and urban and small town quality to Mort's. They have coffee good enough to drink black. They offer multiple varieties, all are certified organic. For all of these thing I would like to give them 5 Stars but confess I'm a diehard "NYC Bagel Snob". My belived wife would consider that if I brought home fruit or candy (chocolate) bagels home to be "grounds for divorce". 4 stars is as good as it gets with rare exceptions outside of NYC, so 4 Stars is not a a slight in the least. It's simply being frank about a place I love yet isn't making what IMHO would be a 5 Star Bagel. That said, these are the best in Cheyenne at the time I write this. I think most people will enjoy what they offer even more than I do. A local owned and run business with top quality and service every time I've visited. When we first came through Cheyenne we tried Mort's Bagels and we're stunned at the quality food presented to us. Now that we live here it is a staple of our breakfast for the weekends. Fresh food, great attitude from the staff and a quick/easy in and out location make this place wonderful for a grab-and-go meal to start your day whether your activities take you out of town or if you plan to spend the day in Cheyenne. Mort's is one of those places you have probably walked by a hundred times and never bothered to stop in. Located downtown close to Bank of the West, the location is great. The store is owned locally, and the owner does the bagel prep every morning. They have your standard mix of bagels and flavors, but have a wide selection of bagel sandwiches (try the one with sausage, egg and pepper jack!) and a smaller selection of drinks. If you are tired of Bagelmakers, give a local guy a shot. You won't be disappointed, just bring cash. read more

What an awesome experience! Went in for a bagel sandwich and witnessed an incredible act of kindness from the gal at the cash register. As I was ordering, a challenged person was trying to chat with the gal at the register. With the utmost kindness the gal at the register showed this person dignity and compassion. THIS was fantastic to witness! Made my day that a young person was so kind a another person. Sure, she could have brushed the person off or ignored them, but she didn't. Reuben bagel was fantastic with the everything bagel. The egg and bacon bagel was fine with the adagio bagel. No inside dining, so we had to sit outside and it was chilly. Not their fault I guess but still would have been nice to have a heater or something. Overall tho very pleased with the food and the price. Service was very fast! read more

Astounding bagels. And apparently everyone knows they're good because they were almost out of bagels by 9 am. My wife and I got two breakfast sandwiches and two bottles of milk. The sandwiches were both stellar. But our total bill was over $20. Service was great, plenty of seating. It's located downtown so parking is always tricky. Plus! We stopped at Mort's passing through town. The bagels did not disappoint! I ordered the Wyoming bagel on Italiano and it was great! My husband ordered the bean patty and that was good too!
