Absolutely the best bagels and bagel sandwiches we have ever had. My coworker and I are in medical sales and bring lunches to clinics every day, but this was the first time we ordered from Mort's and we will be we get anything else for our Wyoming clients ever again. We had a very large order and they were more than happy to help us. Once our party bit into the sandwiches we picked up (the Tom Horn and the Rocky Mountain), they couldn't stop raving about how delicious they were. I would give this 0 stars if I could! I called in for a order for pick up. After giving my order twice (which it was still wrong) I asked if I could pay ahead of time so all I had to do was walk in and pick up the order. The lady on the phone told me yes 5 different times (FIVE) and then would ask some other random question. After getting frustrated that she wouldn't let me pay over the phone I gave up. When I walked in to pick up my order I heard staff talking to another customer about me with not very nice things to say!!!!! Was extremely disappointed!!!! Will NEVER go back. I walked by this place 5 days a week for 2 years without realizing what I was missing out on. I LOVE THIS PLACE! The Owner (Chip) is local and makes the bagels fresh everyday. (Closed on Sundays) I was spending $4 or $5 a day at CityNews for a few shots of espresso over ice. Who knew I could of just walked across the street and had a great cup of Organic Coffee for 85 cents (if you bring your own cup) Stop on by and say Hi to Chip, Mark, Heather and Coleen before you go to work. Being from New York, I was colored slightly skeptical at the idea of a decent bagel in Cheyenne, WY. But I was colored dead wrong after we got through the fairly impressive Saturday morning line to select one of two remaining flavors of bagel and pick our toppings. So one star removed because it was reasonably early when we went out for bagels and they were basically wiped out. Supply and demand in Cheyenne are not your friend if you need a chewy perfect ring of carby goodness on a weekend. But it's worth taking whatever flavor they have left and being grateful. Authentic (for Wyoming) New York-style bagels and sandwiches that have become my go-to bagel place in Cheyenne (Bagelmakers downtown is now closed, and the place wasn't great anyway). Mort's owners are super-friendly and charismatic and are there just about every day, so they've developed a loyal following of downtown workers. They have two or three special bagel varieties that rotate on a daily basis and a slew of cream cheese options as well. If they're busy, you may have to be a little patient for your sandwich to be made, but it's worth the wait. The coffee is also excellent and is serve-yourself style, and there's some tables and free newspapers. They also recently began accepting credit cards, a convenient addition. Be forewarned that if you drop in late Saturday morning, they might have already run out of some varieties. read more

Driving through Cheyenne, we needed a fast breakfast and decided to try them. Oh baby... seriously good REAL bagels. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Great flavor and good service. The 'New Yawker' was great and the lemon, orange and cranberry was a fabulous balance. If we lived in the area, we would be serious regulars.
