My uncle served this country for 20 years, and our family expected his military funeral to be handled with the care, dignity, and attention to detail that he deserved. His daughter was assured by Blaze that everything had been arranged for his military funeral at Fort Bliss. Based on those assurances, our family trusted that they could arrive knowing everything was in place. When my father and cousin arrived at Fort Bliss, nothing had been scheduled. Thankfully, the VA went above and beyond to try to pull something together for our family at the last minute. We are extremely grateful for their efforts. However, because of the funeral home's failure to properly make the arrangements, my uncle did not receive the full military funeral service he deserved after dedicating his life to serving this country. What makes this even more upsetting is that the funeral home acknowledged that Blaze knew she had messed up. Yet the apology that followed felt forced and half-hearted, rather than reflecting the seriousness of what had happened. A funeral is not something you get to redo. There is no opportunity to go back and give a family member the service they should have received. The lack of organization, communication, accountability, and care displayed during this process is extremely troubling. After reading other negative reviews describing similar concerns, it is difficult not to question whether meaningful changes are actually being made. Families place an enormous amount of trust in funeral homes during some of the most painful moments of their lives. That trust should be met with professionalism, compassion, and attention to every detail--not excuses after the fact.

The outdoor commons area was beautiful for a mid-April service, the indoor area for the funeral was very bright, clean, fresh, spacious and welcoming, and the reception room was clean and prepped when we arrived. My only complaints were that we had been told the table cloths for the reception would be cream colored but they were gold and brown polka dots. They didn't go with the pre-planned table centerpieces, and there wasn't time to get new ones. We had also been told there would be table cloths for the Memory Table at the service, but I didn't realize they only had a bright red one. Double check on these before your gathering.

When a service is paid for in advance they disregard and only seek additional funds. My grandmothers insurance covered more than the services cost and they stated they keep those funds to "keep them afloat". If this was a non profit type of business i would understand but you're overpricing every single thing you offer. My grandmothers services were all covered at the restlawn and they still wanted to tack on an additional service at their location. She took care of all of her affairs prior to her departure to avoid any problems or delays and since they're not making any money from pre paid services they have no interest. DO NOT purchase anything additional from them. Flowers, urns, obituary (which they upcharged over 400%). It's $40 at the local paper. Give your business to a local florist instead . No type of sensitivity to the families of loved ones and total disregard for humanity and only a business transaction for them . This applies ESPECIALLY to Terri Duron. At the end of it all when we went to pick up the death certificates she still found a way to squeeze in an extra charge for a priest we didn't even use (my grandpa paid out of pocket for one), leaving us with a balance owed. If I wasn't there to catch it they would have charged my grandfather . I wonder how many other families they do this too on a daily basis all to make their commission . Terry when you are told we don't want flowers , that doesn't mean you ask every family member you encounter about ordering flowers from you . NO means NO. You should work in the car sales industry not a funeral home where atleast some human decency and empathy is required . Also make sure to take a translator if your family member only speaks Spanish as they struggle to properly relay important information that they do not know how to say in Spanish (Terry). This entire thing is a horrible joke . Don't put your families through this take your business elsewhere. And if you use them , DOCUMENT everything and check your bill at the end because they take advantage of mourning families . Shame on all of you .

We never got any updates, whoever was in charge of the death certificates had put that my mother died in Hudspeth County, after my dad pointed out that she died in El Paso County, it was never corrected. It took forever to get my mother's ashes- I even doubt their hers in the urn. I attached my mother's photo to the online obituary and it was never added. Furthermore, I don't think they realize how their lack of attention to detail affects their clients.

When both my uncles passed away suddenly my cousin decided to use Perches Funeral Home to host the memorial service and had nothing but trouble. The first thing that went wrong was that no memory cards were printed for the family and then they never gave my cousin an actual date for the memorial service and it seems that the staff at Perches Funeral really don't have a clue on what they actually are doing. And then they promised to send my mom and aunt emails to give permission to cremate my uncle's ashes which they NEVER received. And if you try to request info via telephone the staff acts very annoyed and tell you that you have to call on a weekday. And the final thing that Perches Funeral Home does is if you write an obituary for a loved one they constantly misspell family names and the worst thing is THEY cannot change or correct spelling errors in the obituary and my mom noticed this when she saw my uncles obituary on their website and when my mom tried to call Perches Funeral Home to correct the mistake and they told her they couldn't change it. Then if you try to write a nice memory about your loved one you CANNOT post your memory message until the day of the funeral and memorial service which makes me think that they somehow have a rule about posting good memories of your loved one until the date of the memorial service and funeral draws near. How Perches Funeral Home manages to survive in El Paso i'll never figure out but they should improve themselves and give people better customer service indeed

We had requested police escort they added it to the contract. When he comes back with the card he tells us that the secretary did not add up the math correctly. So they had to charge a second time for the police escort. Then the day of the rosary I look at my loved ones signature book and his last name, age and the date he passed away were wrong. I go and address it with them and the secretary tells me that they would get it fixed, because they order those from a different company. An hour later I go back to see the book and I see they tried to make corrections, and they still had it wrong. His age was still wrong and December were misspelled. So I go and address for the second time! And not to mention the fact that they lied and tried blaming someone else for the mistake on the book. So they had to fix it twice. Then the day of the rosary my loved one did not have on his tie, so I asked them if they were unable to put it on and the lady tells me that they did not give her a tie and she knew because she was the one who dressed them. I told her that he did have a tie because I'm the one who chose his clothes and personally took it to them, which happened to be his favorite Express skinny tie. They told they were going to try to look for it. The next day we go back for the funeral, they gave us 1 extra hr with his casket open and he did have a tie, but it was not his! I went to the secretary and I expressed how upset I was and why would they not admit their mistakes and just try to cover up for them. And not to mention how bad his makeup up was! Would not recommend at all!
