Today I had another good meal at Mo's. I opted for the special, which was a hot sausage po-boy. The po-boy came dressed with cheese and the hot sausage was in link rather than the traditional patty form. It was very good. There was no ketchup to be found, but it actually didn't need any. The sausage was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. The bread was fresh and came toasted. The sandwich was very filling and reasonably priced. The total for the sandwich and a water was only $7.25. On this trip I noticed that Mo's offers free 5 meg wi-fi under the generic name Linksys. I highly recommend Mo's if you happen to be in Westwego during lunch time. read more

Somewhat disappointed. At one time the best muffulettas on the best bank. Well not this time. Should of had === Round Loaf Italian Bread, did have. Olive Salad, did have. Capicola? or Deli Ham, did have. Genoa Salami. One slice Mortadella, did not have. Sliced Mozzarella, did have. Provolone Cheese Did Not have. Mo's is the best pizza I've ever had in my life. The crust is crunchy, yet perfectly chewy. The sauce is perfection! The perfect amount of sweet and herb. The meat they put on this pizza is ridiculous. There's meatball slices, the worlds best ham, pepperoni. We usually get the large, which is 20 inches. We can eat a few times on it between 2 people. I've also had the lasagna which is delicious. The sausage rolls are perfect. You can't go wrong here. They were voted the best pizza in the New Orleans area a few years ago. Please do yourself a favor and check them out. I know people willing to travel an hour plus for this perfection pie. Even the just pepperoni pizza is bomb. I have heard a lot about Moe's from pizza lovers. I had to go check it out for myself. It's a little difficult to locate but I finally found it on the West Bank. They make huge!!! Pizzas. I ordered pepperoni Italian sausage with extra sauce and they made an error making the pizza but they gave me some extra dipping sauce. It was a sweet kind of a sauce and it was very tasty. I ordered the small pizza and made four meals out of one pizza for $21. Definitely a good value and I would definitely repeat. read more

Moss is definitely the best pizza on the Westbank. If they would deliver or be on Uber Eats, that would make them even better. They are on Waiter, but only 3 days a week I believe. We ordered take-out pizza from Mo's when I was home for the holidays. I had no idea this place existed. They have been around for quite some time. We called in an order for a large cheese pizza. About 20 minutes later, we arrived at the restaurant to pick up the pizza. We waited for about five minutes as the kitchen was taking our pizza out of the oven and sticking it in a box. Staff was very friendly and thanked us for coming in. The restaurant itself is very spacious and had plenty of TVs to watch sports. The large cheese pizza was extremely big. They should call it their GIGANTIC size. I think it came out to under $20 for the pizza. The pizza was very good. I wish we had ordered a pepperoni pizza but the nephews prefer JUST CHEESE! The thing that's unique about this place is the tomato sauce on the pizza. The sauce is on the sweeter side and if you like sweet, this is your pie! Loved my company, didn't love my pizza. Please don't hate me for not loving on this West Bank institution, but this is my favorite food group we're talking about, the food I cut my teeth on. As in, my earliest food memory post jarred sweet potatoes is the pizza my dad brought home one day. Pizza is the food that made me reconsider being vegan for 16 years. And Mo's has some of the worst I've ever had. The sweet sauce is a shame. A post-pizza discussion had me wondering if it's in fact corn syrup. The crust is too thick. As in, a fold is impossible. Slices need to be folded. It's just the way it has to be. It's a round pie, but the crust isn't NY style or Neopolitan style, is too thin and too round to be Sicilian (Grandma Josie would be rolling around in her grave at the very idea of it). The pro is also a con if you dislike the pizza as much as I do: the portion sizes are out of control. As in a slice is actually two slices. The small pizza will fill a family of 4. Then there's the subpar canned veg toppings, tasteless, undercooked cheese on top of that sauce... well it's also silly they are proudly asserting that this is all Italian (I realize many Italian American places in the US do so and such cuisine is obviously reflective of what region in the US they are in). "Italians do it better" coozies, t-shirts and friendly, efficient staff earn them the three stars. I also like the strange tin building that reminds me of an ice rink concession stand. The food is not much better, I'm afraid. It's packed with happy people. That counts for something. I feel bad for giving them this review. But there are just so many good places in New Orleans to get a decent slice! read more

I had been hearing about Mo's pizza for years. We had a rare visit to the West Bank so we seized the opportunity. We ordered a large pepperoni half light sauce thanks to a yelp review that I read standing in line to order. We also ordered an italian salad and 2 cookies. The place was about half full and a couple people picking up to go. We didnt have to wait long before our number was called. The pizza was huge! It overlapped the pan! I counted 16 slices. We conquered half, thank you very much, and boxed up the rest. The salad was ok. Canned olives always dissappoint. We thought the cookies were made in house with the way they were wrapped but we were sadly mistaken to read the Pennsylvania made label on the back. Back to the pizza, the sauce is on the sweeter side which I like but highly recommend requesting light sauce. We ended up throwing away the half that had the regular sauce portion. I enjoyed the pizza and would return if ever in the area again. The prices are decent so I can see how they are a popular place. Plus, there is Pac-Man in the front. read more

Part 2 of going to Mo's I came here tonight with my family. Our party included 5 kids and 4 adults. We paid for 8 drinks and 1 beer. My dad asked the OWNER'S daughter for 2 small plastic cups for the 4 and 6 year old kids with us. Apparently that is against the law because she said those are only for beer. She proceeded to yell loudly at my dad like a lunatic. I came to the counter to let them know why we NEVER go to the restaurant. The worst service ever. I will NEVER be back. Mo's Pizza, tucked away just off of the Westbank Expressway in Westwego, has been my go-to spot for great pizza on the Westbank for years. If you're looking for a great pie that won't break the bank, this is your place! The pizzas here a pretty simple. The toppings are relatively basic, with chicken and spinach being as exotic as it gets. I like gourmet pizza just as much as any other foodie, but sometimes it's good to come back down to earth with good old-fashioned toppings. Being a fan of veggies, I always get a combination of artichoke hearts, black olives, bell peppers, and onions. The crust is on the thicker side, and the tomato sauce is slightly sweet. The portions are also HUGE; a small pizza here can easily feed four people and at that you will probably have a slice or two to take home. In addtion to the pizzas, they also have exceptional lasagna, muffalettas and calzones. I admit that I have not tried any of these other items, but I have heard that they too are delicious! They have a small selection of beers on tap. Blue Moon was previously one of these but was replaced (boooo!) with Canebrake (yay!). This place gets packed on the weekends, especially for dinner, so plan accordingly or else you will have to wait for a table to open up. The dining room also tends to get loud when it gets busy. Mo's is a counter service restaurant, so be sure to keep an ear out over the noise for when your number gets called. For pizzas the wait can be a while, but all the pies are made to order, so it's a small price to pay for a hot, fresh pizza. If you are ever rolling through the Westbank and have a hankering for some really great pizza that won't empty your wallet, be sure to give Mo's in Westwego a try.
