I've eaten at Mo's up and down the coast many times for many years, but this experience was disappointing. Some family members went into the restaurant and placed a large--but not complicated--to go order. But when they arrived where we were staying, 30 minutes away, we discovered that two orders of the eight were completely missing. All eight orders showed on the receipt, and we'd paid for them all. When we called, the first person we spoke to didn't apologize and seemed to have no clue what to do. The second person was much better--they did apologize, refund the money for the two missing meals, and offer coupons for two more meals next time we came by. Which was a reasonable enough response, but still, two people ended up with no dinner that night. It was very late when we got into town. Not many places still open. Mo's was for 1 more hour but based on their yelp ratings we were actually not expecting much. We are so glad we came. As we were coming in a ton of people were done with their dinner and leaving. They all seemed happy and in a good mood so maybe this Mo's wasn't so bad. We got seated right away. Most tables have views of the water. Unfortunately, we got just a peek before it was dark. Brad was our server and he rocked it. I was feeling like a sandwich and asked what he recommended. He said he loved the Hot shrimp Melt...interesting but I agreed to try it. Omg it was delicious. Their clam chowder was real good too! My daughter had the bay shrimp fettuccine Alfredo which she said was amazing! My husband decided on the combination plate and liked it. So our other daughter arrived a couple of days later and guess where we went again! Visited on a Saturday after lunch and enjoyed the chowder and shrimp crab salad -- both good! If you plan your visit around the busy times, you can skip the long lines. The location can't be beat -- right on the water, full of natural light, and all the coastal charm. I believe the Mo's are not all under the same management or ownership, so each location may off us something a little different. This one is great. FOOD PREP: Prefect for what it is, this is an Oregon Coast beach food restaurant, not the French Laundry. FOOD QUALITY: For what it is, it is great. Maybe fried food is not my thing but I don't downgrade them because it is their thing and thousands of other people enjoy it. WAITSTAFF: Super fast, great communication, polite, and respectful. It's been a few years since our last visit but it all seems about the same. Sunday night and the longest day of the year means a lot of people out on the coast for vacation and site-seeing. The beach was busy and there was lots of traffic in town despite the weekenders having gone back to Portland. We waited for a short 9 minutes to sit down and then another 15 or so for our waitress to take our order. She did stop by and acknowledge that we were there and that she would finish a big table and be right there. She was nice and had a smile and I admired that given the crowds. We ordered and our food and it came quickly after that. I think she expedited our order ahead of the 10 top that got seated ahead of us or at least I want to think so. The clam chowder was buttery and delicious. The shrimp platter was good and as I expected it. I had a coffee and water and it was $26 out the door. We spent another $26 on something for our dog sitter and the entire experience very was about 45 minutes. Honestly, I think if they moved to a self order and self pay QR code system for small tables of four or less, people would get their food sooner and fewer people dining and dashing and tables would turn sooner. It's a quirky place and full of tourists. I doubt that the locals eat here much but I could be wrong. Lots of parking and no empty tables. Also, this is a great place for 10 tops. read more

Was really looking forward to the shrimp salad sandwich and a cup of chowder. My go-to favorite. Three of us went. Three of us got the same thing. Three of us were disappointed. The chowder was up to standard thick, creamy, tasty, and piping hot. Yum! The shrimp sandwich was just lacking. It was flavorless and off. None of us could quite put our finger on it. My sister even asked the server if our bun was supposed to be toasted. Her response was, "It was, see the edge?" While she was correct there was still something wrong. We've been going to Moe's for our shrimp sandwich and chowder for years and it was just flat and lacking flavor. We think we figured it out. 1- The bun is supposed to be grilled with cheesy garlic butter. Our buns were dry and had no garlic butter-cheesy or otherwise. In fact we got a side of butter and spread some on the top bun. 2- The shrimp salad was supposed to have green onions. There were no green onions though it looked like either tiny bits of parsley or celery leaf were mixed in. There was zero green onion. 3- There was supposed to be black pepper in the salad as well. I did not see any specks of pepper in the salad. 4- There was supposed to be celery salt in the shrimp salad. Again there were no specs of anything to indicate celery salt was added. So, it seems we. Had the fish combo which came with 4 decent sized shrimp $5 up charge for beer battered cod to which you got 3 small pieces . Lunch for 2 was about $70. Treat all your clients the same. We have been coming to Moes for years and I have some of the best memories with my family. It fact Moes was the place that I dinner with my dad before he passed. I was very disappointed, upset, honestly your server and staff had my blood boiling when we come in on Saturday 7.11 to celebrate my son's 10 birthday. The waiter completely dismissed us when I told him that is was my son birthday in fact his exact words were " oh good to know " with the most I don't give a crap expression on his face. As we were getting closer to finishing our meal my son wanted to know where his birthday song and ice cream were like he has had for the last six years. I didn't wanna make a big deal out of it so I explained to him that maybe Moes doesn't do that anymore. It's been a while since we have been and we can go get some vet cream at another place. Literally five minutes after that, a kid sitting across from us, got his birthday song and his ice cream. I spoke with your manager, who suggested that my son can come back in and your staff can give him the exact same treatment, but at that point it was too late. He was already upset and he was not coming back, then she suggested for him to come pick out a toy which he wasn't gonna do. Classic restaurant by beach towns. Basically the only thing that's going to be open on a random Monday or Tuesday. Prices aren't bad an it's kid friendly Right on the water which is nice, plenty of parking. We tried the combo platter to share it came with 2 pieces of fish, fried shrimp and "clam strips" The clam strips were more like pieces of fry. $20 isn't bad but I would pass on the clam strips. Clam chowder was ok, nothing great Kids had the chicken strips and burger.
