Coming from an area where middle eastern food is plentiful and delicious, I was looking forward to trying out this place. The first time I came here, the owner and I had a nice conversation about the place and the different types of food they serve, and it really added to the experience. The falafel appetizer was so delicious, perfectly cooked, and seasoned, a great way to start the meal. The main course was the chicken shwarma over rice which was beautiful and ordered chicken kabobs as well, and they were a knockout as well. We came here on Valentines evening. They were pretty packed when we came in and also had people picking up. The atmosphere is casual and upbeat. Tables are cleaned as people leave and spreader down. My husband and I shared the Valentines Day special Seafood Chowder and it seemed to be so meticulously put together. It wasn't over flavored and not very heavy. I was pleasantly surprised. My husband had the blackened Blackened Cat & Craw Étouffée while I had the Shawarma Chicken Wrap with broccoli. Both were delicious. I wish I would have ventured out and ordered the catfish, but I think I may have swallowed the plate! I will definitely be more adventurous next time! We chose Mosaic Grill because we don't have ready access to Mediterranean food at home, and it's a favorite. I really appreciated the owner speaking to me directly to make sure that I was able to order something without dairy. Husband and I chose falafel as an appetizer and split the beef Schwarma wrap. The food was served quickly, and the falafel was amazing. The beef on the schwarma, however, was interspersed with inedible bits of tendon or something similar. The flavor was nice, but I wouldn't want to have it again. The seasoned fries were generic frozen crinkle fries but came out hot and crispy. Overall, I'd only recommend the falafel. read more

Finally popped in tonight for a late dinner. What a welcome addition to the neighborhood! We ordered the hummus & falafel appetizers (yum!), and the Turkish kabob wrap & beef kabob entrees. The entree sides included a delicious seasoned grilled asparagus and the corn (both were REALLY good, not sure about previous bland corn review because it was tasty!). The Turkish wrap was amazing per the hubby. Beer wall and fountain drink station were cool too. Not a huge fan of the thin pitas that came out with the hummus, but the entree pita (under kabob) was thick, warm, and delicious! Come give them a try! read more

If I could give this restaurant 4 1/2 stars I would. My only let down was the hummus. I think it was overpriced and it wasn't as good as I was hoping for. Took my kids here for lunch before the movies and we all thought the food was pretty good. The chicken kabobs were juicy and seasoned well, however, the rice was lacking flavor. My son said his shawarma beef flat pita was flavorful and my daughter loved her burger and fries. They have self-pour beer and wine and quite a few tv's which was great to watch the college basketball games. I'll definitely be back to try the other dishes! read more

Came for lunch. I got shrimp skewers and other dishes ordered on the table were the falafel wrap, pita and hummus, lentil soup and fries. I also got a red wine from the self serve wall. The shrimp and rice it came with was good. I'd get it again. The falafel wrap was very very bland (we all shared and agreed) it needed more sauce and seasoning. The hummus was good but the serving of pita was very small and not enough to eat the hummus with. We asked for more as it was a silly portion and they wanted to charge like $3-4 more. The lentil soup was good, but needed more flavor and a touch more salt. It was fairly bland, but good base and texture to start. The wine from the tap was soured like it was opened and sitting too long- it wasn't fresh at all. It was a waste of almost $7 for a small pour. All in all, it was just okay. read more

Yummm! This place is a cute little find in Belton. All of the food we had was GREAT, down to the fries -- couldn't stop eating them! We ordered the Mosaic chicken wings, the shrimp kabobs with corn marinated rice, and the hummus (adding meat). The wings were quite messy, but the flavor was really good and they were cooked perfectly. We may try one of the dry rub flavors next time though. The shrimp and rice was our favorite. We've never had corn marinated rice before, but MAN! We will definitely order that rice again! :-) The hummus was pretty great too! My husband and I are split on the "added meat." The taste of the meat was good, but I didn't care for the excessive oil that it brought to the dish. My husband, on the other hand, liked sopping the oil up with his pitas . They lose a star because the portions were quite small for the prices. That could just be the fat girl inside of me though. We spent over $50 and everything was served on (what would be) appetizer-sized plates anywhere else. So, if you like to bring home leftovers, this may not be the place for you. I got the Mosaic Chicken Wrap because everyone was raving about it online. I wasn't impressed at all. Too much yogurt in the sauce, the chicken was dry (and could've had more flavor). They have a beer wall so that's cool but I didn't have beer there so not sure on selection. I think it needs a bit more work. I'll try again in a few years. read more

I was so excited to see a Mediterranean option in BELTON! For some reason they keep building fast food places. It was super busy on a Friday night. Almost every table was full. People were sipping red wine & laughing chatting. Seemed to be having a good time. (2 stars for atmosphere) I ordered to go. Took about 45 minutes. Someone had been waiting 30 before us. We ordered the beef & the chicken flats & a beef wrap. Hummus. They are all basically the exact same thing. Just one is rolled the other not rolled. I have to say I came in with high expectations. But. The beef tasted like pastor, which is the red marinated pork meat for Mexican tacos. Except this meat was saturated in grease. Dripping grease. I only got half way with my flat before deciding the grease was too much and trashed it. The chicken seemed to be put thru a processor. Not chopped but minced. My teen ate it but didn't enjoy it. The hummus was bland. Lacked lemon juice. Lacked spices. Very bland. Disappointing. If you're expecting a real Mediterranean experience like gyros & Tabouli or Dolmas you'll have to drive up to Georgetown's PLAKA Because there's zero LAMB here. I think it's a nice idea to have wine & whatever close to home but I wasn't impressed. Mediterranean food isn't soaked in grease and most definitely doesn't have grease that runs down your arm! It's new. Like all new places that pop up they're busy at first. Maybe you will enjoy it but I won't be back. read more

The kabobs were warm and could have been at a higher temp. It it was easy to eat. There were more onions than chicken which would have been better had there been more chicken than onion. Their ordering system is a first for me. I scanned a QR code at the table, which took me to the menu on my phone to place and pay for my order. Ordering was reasonably easy. Upon completion of my order the tipping options popped up at the bottom. I'm not a fan of tipping until after I've had my meal and enjoyed great table service. The drinks were self service and Mosaic's waitstaff were quick to drop our food off and retreat. There were no follow-ups by the waitstaff. I did tip 15% pre-meal, with this being my first visit expecting good table service. It was not. I would have tipped more had service been acceptable. It appears this is a fairly new restaurant, and I can only assume there is a lack of training for floor staff. Now, onto the good part. The Hummus was delicious. The Sharwama beef pita was delicious too, and my wife really enjoyed her chicken shawarma as well. If the waitstaff would just check in a couple of times during the meal, it would go a long way toward overall restaurant experience. read more

Yelp sent out an announcement that Mosaic Grill was new so we felt adventurous and ordered, delivered. My wife got the cheeseburger and loved it and would definitely order it again. I got the fish and chips and as usual with fish asked for extra tarter sauce. The fish and chips is a real winner, the spiced fries are awesome and for the first time loved the fish as delivered and didn't want to spoil the great tasting batter with the tarter sauce. We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer I got the cheeseburger she got the beef shawarma! It took awhile that was ok they had some people in front of us! Our food came out before our appetizer the fried pickles and our fries were cold and my wife's shawarma was dry and burnt! Then came our appetizer the pickles were over cooked couldn't even eat the pickles they were so tuff! Definitely one of the worst meals I've in seven years that I've been here in Texas! Everything is self serve get your own condiments, silverware and drinks then they ask for a tip! When we asked about the shawarma they told us it supposed to be that way! Wowser! This place was a small hidden treasure. We drove up from SA to visit and find good crispy wings -who knew a "variety grill" would be the place to be? The BEST wings by far. We've been to NY where the Buffalo wing was created and founded...it was just as good if not better. The owner and chef and good people, too. We especially enjoyed the self-serve beer and wine taps.
