I do not recommend this establishment. Saturday I went with a group of friends for a fun night out in Kansas City. Around midnight while at Mosaic, my phone was stolen. The bouncers weren't helpful and the staff wasn't helpful. It was stolen out of my purse that was on my shoulder. I filed a police report and they asked if I had already filed one because three other phones were stolen that night around the same time. This place attracts sketchy behavior and low life individuals. Overall, I paid $40 for a mediocre bar night and to have my phone stolen. read more

Had bottle service and we were drinking top shelf for a certain price, we ordered our third bottle and the brought bottom shelf and doubled the price and said we had to pay for it even though we never touched the bottle or agreed to that bottle or price. Unsafe. Multiple fights broke out no bouncers in sight. Girl broke a beer bottle and attempted to use as a knife. My friend not involved in the confrontation was stabbed as she whipped the bottle around. I had to dig glass out of my feet, shoes, and legs. Another girl in our party was stalked and the staff did nothing when informed. We had to leave the bar and get the police as he attempted to grope her and pursued her outside the bar. Came to Kansas City for the New Years weekend and ended up checking out the power and light district. I'm the kind of person who likes to dance when I'm out drinking with friends so we were hoping we could find something fun. We ended up going to mosaic around 11:30 on a Saturday and stayed there till bar close because it was so fun. The DJ played some good pop, hip hop, and electric throwbacks which I liked but I wish they didn't change the song every 30 seconds! The drinks were pretty expensive $8-10 a drink.. but the crowd was feeling the music and I liked the look of the place which made my time there fun. Came here for NYE. It was packed. This venue is not well designed. Dance area is where most people try to get through to get to the back and outside area. People are all cramped like in a wild zoo. Women getting groped left and right by creeps. Music was poor (though i understand it is a matter of taste, i was expecting more house and dance music). Crowd was decent, a good mix. I really wanted to give them like 3.75 stars lol. So here's the good and the bad... I'm pretty sure this place was "ultra" at one time but not so much anymore. Good - excellent patio and lounge area outside. Lots of couches and seating area to get away from the crowd. Bad - kind of a douchy crowd, I suppose my expectations were a little high for KC. Good - management, we splurged on bottle service for the occasion and management was good about checking in on us to see if everything was ok. Bad - bottle service area / tables, these have seen better times and with the way they are set up (one table connects to another) you often have people just traipsing through your reserved space. Not exactly the fault of the establishment but just not conducive to the whole bottle service VIP experience. And although management checked on us we never saw one waitress after they delivered our bottles. Good - music , Eric did a nice job with tunes and there was lots of dancing to be had. Perfect for clubbing, dancing, etc. I had got a VIP table for memorial day with my friends. When we got there, we didn't have to wait in line because we had VIP access. we were seated at a table by the bar and it was filled with Liquor, mixers, ice and energy drinks, and thats when the night began and we had one of the Best times of our lives. Ugh! I can't stand the Power and Light District, and Mosaic is the worst of the worst. You can't even get in the club after like 10pm; there's an enormous line and the line barely moves at all. I am all about good electronic music, and I have to say the three times I've been there, I was truly disappointed by the quality of music. Drinks are really pricey too. One time, I ordered a gin and tonic, and the bartender put soda water in it by accident. A forgivable mistake, but he refused to fix the drink and I nearly got thrown out. read more

Mosaic is like a one time thing. Your first time you have a blast and think "why don't I come here every weekend?" Well let me break it down for you. I've been here many times and the bouncer picks random cover charges for whoever he feels like. My friend 2 people infront of us was told 10 dollars and I was told 20 dollar cover. On top of that, the DJ plays the EXACT SAME set list every weekend. The only way to pretend it's not happening and that I didn't just pay double the cover of what the person infront of me paid, is to buy drinks. I'd love for someone to explain this to me, because I've had this happen on multiple occasions. I've even tested it and come back in line soon after and the charge is different. Don't bother responding to this if you're going to say "cover changes based on capacity" because I've seen this happens when it's completely dead. Bouncers shouldn't just pick and choose who they wanna screw over. Sad this is one of the only clubs around the area, because Mosaic wouldn't last in any other city. read more

Well, if you are looking for a place to get nearly molested while walking to the bathroom and every where else you go, then this is the place for you! But wait, there's more! If you like to be pinned up to a wall against your will and fondled all over while ten guys watch and do nothing about it, you're headed to the right place! But don't expect your door guys to help you out either. When I told them what happened they said they couldn't do anything because they didn't see it. So does that mean if I get raped in the bathroom and they don't see it, the guy can stay and party? When I told them that my husband works there(ughhh) and had told me to get the door guys to kick him out, they finally removed him from the bar. My friend and I had decided to leave and go to a cheaper bar with less popped collars, shiny shirts, and ed hardy clothes. When my husband got home he told me that the manager of the bar had let that guy back in because he spends a lot of money there. Wow. I can NOT believe that a bar would put the safety of it's female customers in jeopardy because the guy who attacked them spends a lot of money in their bar. It's disgusting. I am disgusted. I had the pleasure of going to Mosiac three nights in a row. May I add, not by choice. Overall the bartenders were very nice and accomodating, but the clientele sucks. For a second, I swear I was in a fistpumping competition in Jersey. The amount of hair gel and douchbagery was way too much to take sober. I think I saw about 3 Pauly D look-alikes... In the bathroom, a pissed of patron was yelling and calling the hispanic bathroom attendent racially inapproprate names. When I found a bouncer, who just happened to be minority as well, he did nothing. Granted they were busy, but this poor attendent was in tears. If that wasnt enough, they charged my card four times in one night, when there should have only been one charge. Still waiting to hear from them... read more

The outside was attractive but once inside there were many things that were not attractive. 1) My friends and I walked in about 10:30 pm on a Friday and we waited five minutes for the other part of our entourage to join us. They were made to pay a cover charge. To what and why? We still do not know. We stayed for about an hour and nothing special was happening. 2) Over priced drinks that taste horrible. I asked for a long island Iced tea, paid $12 and ended up with a vodka and lemonade that made me cringe every sip. 3) In the next twenty minutes we sat there to socialize, the lounge filled with many people, it seemed over-crowded with all the dancers and we had to shout to those next to us due to the blasting music and we were on the other side of the room. Overall, we would have left in first ten minutes if it wasn't for the two in our group who paid the mysterious cover charge and didn't want to waste their money. They got their ten dollar's worth being entertained by a desperate girl on the dance floor we nicknamed 'Snookie', trying to grind with everything that walked by - but that wasn't Mosaic's fault. I was recently here with the gf and a few of her friends on a Thursday (you read that right, a Thursday). The club wasn't packed but none of them were. You could tell that Mosaic has earned its spot in P & L. They had a DJ that was killing it and the dance floor was busy all night. So much so that I wound up getting a bottle of Vodka to enjoy and, on the spot, they accommodated me with the utmost professionalism, giving me the choice of tables as well as the DJ giving my girlfriend, shoutouts all night for her birthday! Chris, the manager followed up with me multiple times to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves and the security/staff was awesome, escorting us to the right elevators to get to our vehicle after the great night. This club was the absolutely WORST place I have ever been too. They tell you you get a $20 gift card for every 5 people that come under your name for happy hour. I brought in 12 people and was promised a $40 gift card to Mosaic and a complementary bottle of champagne. I go to redeem my $40 at the bar and the bartender was SO RUDE. He would not let me use the gift card and proceeding to insult me for no reason. This business is possibly the most unorganized, dysfunctional, poorly run business I have ever been too. The place holds 250 people. A VIP table costs $1000. They have 16 tables. Each table holds 10-20 people. So you will never get in unless you are with someone that has spent a $1000. DO NOT STAND IN LINE!! YOU WILL NOT GET IN!! VIP ONLY!! Essentially the cover charge is $100 dollars for a no limit drink night. Let's put this in perspective...NYC New Years Eve events where it is all you can drink for $150 per person all night long (bars are open till 5 am). Awesome DJ's at Mosaic, the size of the room makes it fun to dance with everyone but also Bottle Service is a great option to have a reserved table with friends. Plus, they have Service Industry Thursdays with specials on drinks and I was lucky enough to pre-reserve a table on a Friday and when I bought my Belvedere bottle service, I got a upgraded to a magnum size bottle at no additional charge! Very nice place If your white, if your any other color you will be waiting in line for awhile unless you know someone. 2015 Race is in the past , this place must of not got the memo everyone is equal. After waiting for 45mins at the front i seen so many people sliding cash to the main door guy which in returned he let them in. I then tried the same thing but was shot down he told me id have to wait in line. Alright, alright. Yes Power & Light lovers, the craziness that is entertainment has been brought to downtown KC. Having the opportunity to visit Mosaic a few times has brought me to the conclusion that KC doesn't quite fit the bill for such an ostentatious environment. Kansas City people trying to evoke that attitude by everyone looking the exact same (Untucked collared shirts, premium denim, and loafers) is a bunch of fakery - not sophistication for those attempting to rationalize. For now, Mosaic prides itself on some sultry imagery, blue lighting, and an attitude to boot. VIP or not, Mosaic's undertones are just too much. Do I like the place - yes. I admit it. But it needs a serious attitude adjustment (hence a rocking hat I wore was asked to be removed when tons of others had hats on too. In the end, I didn't have to remove it). So go if you got the dough. Mosaic show some heart too and maybe you'll get some dough in return. read more
