I've been using Moshe for years, and his prices are always well below dealer costs. He also gave me an alternative for body work which was to a place that charged less than 50% of the price quoted to me by a big-time outfit. He never marks up the price of parts. If he tells me that something needs to be replaced, it needs to be replaced. Most recently, my wife had a tire puncture; we inflated it, she drove to his shop, he repaired it immediately, and would not accept any payment. We took our 3 Hondas to Moshe's and we were satisfied with him because of his honesty and his opinionated advice . It is a small shop so he personally supervised his worker. He has a lot of experience which he is willing to share honestly. The only con I found was that you need to make an apointment in advance. which sometimes means to wait a week or so if he is very busy . However , when we had an emergency case- he was always able to take a look at it . We take the car there for major repairs because we trust him blindly. read more

I took my older Volvo 850 to the dealer, and they said that my water pump was leaking and would need to be replaced at a huge cost, along with several hoses. I then got it checked out by Moshe, who inspected the pump and said their was absolutely no problem with it, and wanted to charge about 2/3 what the dealer quoted for the hoses! As a person rather ignorant of car mechanics, it is easy for a mechanic to tell me things are wrong even though they are not. It was really refreshing to finally find an honest one. Moshe prices are beyond competitive and makes repairing your car affordable. As a woman, bringing a car for repairs can be intimidating... especially with the fear of being overcharged due to gender. Moshe is not only hardworking but honest. He was helpful in explaining issues with my car and letting me know his concerns that needed to be immediately addressed. Despite the list of repairs, my car was ready in 3 hours. My infant and I was even offered a ride home while my car was being serviced. Overall the service was very personal and professional. It's rare that a mechanic talks you OUT of making a $1,000 repair to your car, but that is what happened to me with Moshe today. I called to compare the price of replacing the water pump on my 2005 Volvo S40 today because I was told by the Volvo specialist where I have my car serviced that it needs to be done. Moshe patiently asked the story behind the car and why I requested such a specific repair. He then quoted me a price that was about 30% cheaper than my other mechanic and told me that I didn't need to do the work to begin with for many more miles. I came to Moshe as yet another word of mouth customer. There aren't too many quality options in the DC area for Volvo service outside of the massive markups of the dealership. But you can listen to Moshe and trust every word he's said. He'll patiently walk you through the difference between your drive belt and your timing belt, explain the failure points on each. Further, Moshe will let you know his recommendation on what he'd replace as if it were his own car: expertly, but with a mindset grounded in economics. His labor rates are fair and he may through in the easy stuff under a "we were in there anyway" waiver. He knows what's wrong, he's empathetic, and he and his team work very fast. With 4 repairs, my 2002 Volvo V70 XC was in and out in less than a day. I now have a lot more life on a car he essentially saved from a potential scrap yard visit (186k miles on the original timing belt ) and I will be back for his trustworthiness and decades of experience. read more

Moshe's auto care is the only place I will take my car. The dealer tried to get me to spend almost 1000$ in repairs and Moshe charged me a quarter of that price. He never recommends unnecessary repairs and has even given me rides to the metro.
