Looked at a number of Nextdoor reviews for Benz repair. Autobahn was repeatedly recommended. I was overdue for an oil change and I called on a Friday afternoon. Jacob answered and quoted me a good price and asked if I could bring it right then. I drove it over and he changed the oil right away. The mechanic/owner yelled at me twice first saying he is too busy secondly yelling at me about how much gas I had in my tank. I made an appointment with him to have my Mercedes benz looked at by him and he yelled saying he's too busy today. Bizarre, disrespectful, and unprofessional. He is disrespectful to a woman who made an appointment with him. Do not recommend especially if u are a woman needing car repairs. read more

After just having my car serviced at the dealership, the overheating warning came on and told me to STOP, pull over and wait for it to cool down. I thought it was crazy since it was 30 degrees out and I just started the car to go to Target. Luckily the red turned into yellow and I was able to get home and sleep. The next morning, I decided to do some research and went on BMW forums and found out that at 100,000 miles, the waterpump pretty much goes kahputz automatically. Great. I just hit 100,0012 miles. Being a Saturday, almost all places were closed and we needed the car for sure on Monday so I turned to YELP for some help. First I asked the community and of course didn't get any responses immediately. Then I called around to shops that were open on Sunday and got estimated quotes. Ranging from $700-$1100, I was dreading to get this done. When I called Autobahn, Jacob was very nice and told me that he doesn't want to say exactly that it is the water pump but will take a look at it and then give me a free estimate. BMW will charge you a $140 diagnostic without service. So since they were the only place still open, my husband and I drove slowly with the warning going off and arrived. When you walk it, it feels like you're at a travel agency but it is just because this place has a lot of Turkey pride. Jacob welcomed us with a handshake and had his guys take a look at the car real quick. Yep, it was the water pump and the thermometer. He gave us a quote and we discussed and I was able to have him knock the price down. Then he offered us a ride home since we were stranded, haha! He dropped us off at the White Flint Metro Stop and we were carless. Car was done Monday, washed and sparkling in the morning and I have had NO problems since. Yes, many of told me that it is a DIY and I probably got ripped off because the parts are not expensive, but I have no car skills, I was desperate, needed to have it done without any more issues and Jacob and his men got it done. It's like surgery, anyone could do it but why do people go to doctors? Others have mentioned it is because I drive a BMW and that's the price I have to pay, but in all 7 years, this has been the first major work on my car, and I think that's pretty good. read more

Had valves adjusted and fuel lines replaced on my diesel. Requested braided lines. Car came back with vacuum disconnected and they denied. About 3 weeks later fuel lines started to leak again damaging my street's asphalt. My best guess is they replaced with regular fuel line instead of diesel. My valve cover gasket didn't look new either so I suspect they didn't even adjust my valves. Ned and wife seem charming yet the son worked on my car and he was sloppy. Stay away, Mark read more

Autobahn was able to see my Mercedes quickly (they are open on Saturdays!) and were extremely honest and fair. The shop is a bit hidden away in an industrial park setting (with lots of other small auto shops in the vicinity), making it challenging to find, but not impossible. I can't say enough good things about this business. Jacob is extremely knowledgeable and capable, honest & just amazing. As a female, reviewing auto services is not really my thing, but I make an exception--Autobahn is just that great. I finally got fed up with the dealership that overcharged outrageously (although they threw in a bottle of water with their logo on it, pretty cool, but certainly not worth the extra $$$, some of you are, no doubt, aware of the one I'm talking about), the final straw was their dishonesty. I took my car in to Autobahn to rectify a transmission fluid leak after the dealership quoted me 2.5X the $$$ of the owner Jacob's quote. Aside from providing some advice and fixing the leak, he indicated he thought an oil change was in order, this was about a month after routine maintenance at the dealership. Which made me strongly suspect that the dealership had a "let's not do it but say we did" attitude. Never again!! I've been back several times with my Mercedes & will never go elsewhere. They always provide prompt & courteous service & Jacob & his nephews are always very pleasant & offer rides to the Metro. read more
