Meanwhile, every other firearms company I contacted took the time to reply and answer my questions. Even a brief acknowledgment would have been appreciated. I purchased a Patriot in 400 Legend yesterday. the box magazine is SLOPPY LOOSE and I'm afraid it will fall out with very little "encouragement" when I called the Mossberg CS 800 line, I was told it was supposed to be that way and there was nothing they could do. I bought a Mossberg Patriot 30-06 From Sportsman's Warehouse. Got the gun in and went to shoot it and it would not fire. After pulling the trigger over 30 times it only fired twice. Messaged Mossberg and they wanted me to take the trigger assembly apart to check something. I was not going to touch it because it knew and I'm not a gun smith. Sportsman's Warehouse has to send it back to them. Got the gun back a month later. It fired but doesn't seem right. I'm taking it to a gun smith in town now. Just a terrible experience with Mossberg and Sportsman's Warehouse has. Think I'm done with both now. read more

Just bought brand new shotgun semiautomatic 12 gauge . Used 1 time and bullets were getting cut and jammed in chamber . Called moss customer service was told email pics and problem waited two weeks no answer except general reply automated The want me to clean and repair my gun i said I'm not a gunsmith and quickly reminded them it's brand new . customer service hung up on twice what kinda of warranty is this Never getting anywhere will not buy another gun from them and hope everyone reads this And makes a better decision than I did. read more

Had a rear band screw on my 464 lever action shear during a recent trip to the Mojave Desert. I relayed the problem via email and had an immediate response. I would like to know what I was thinking. I have had experience with Smith & Wesson, Remington, Browning, Beretta, Marlin, Colt, Ruger and Taurus manufacturing companies. These companies seem to understand the importance of a quality product and quality customer service. Then there is Mossberg. I purchased my first Mossberg, a short barrel, tactical style shotgun, model 590. After my 10 day waiting period, I went and picked up my shotgun. I brought it home, removed the factory stock and replaced it with a new, adjustable stock with a pistol grip. I loaded the weapon with 7, 2 3/4" shells (it holds 9) and proceeded to cycle the shells through to unload the weapon and make sure the feed and action were OK. The first two cycled fine and then the shells started not feeding properly. There was no pressure on the shells from the magazine tube. After getting all of the shells unloaded, by pointing the barrel up into the air and using gravity to unload the magazine tube, I checked the magazine tube. Upon unscrewing the magazine cap and checking the spring, on a brand new, never fired shotgun, the spring was completely kinked and bent. It looked like a Slinky that was hit by a lawnmower. Obviously, that was the problem. Call the store where the gun was purchased. (See review of Big 5 Sporting goods, Livermore, CA). They were useless as they can't do anything about it so they said to contact the manufacturer. Contact Mossberg..let me take that back...attempt to contact Mossberg. January 5th, leave message on customer service voice mail (customer service did not answer or pick up after being on hold for 11 minutes). Send email stating nature of problem. January 8th, leave message on customer service voice mail (customer service did not answer or pick up after being on hold for 8 minutes). Send email restating nature of problem. January 12th, leave message on customer service voice mail (customer service did not answer or pick up after being on hold for 7 minutes). Send email restating nature of problem. January 15th, leave message on customer service voice mail (customer service did not answer so I just a left a message, no waiting this time). Send email begging for a response. January 21st, no response at all from Mossberg nor could I get a human to talk to. Decide to call again and this time hold as long as possible. Called from work and watched the call timer, after 13 minutes on hold, finally a customer service rep picked up. In 40 seconds she took down my name, address and serial number and said "a new spring will be mailed to your home. We are really busy, so we'll get it out soon." CLICK. End of call. I am still holding the phone thinking they may come back on the line and apologize for being so difficult to contact and for being so rude. I am still hoping the CLICK I heard was me being put on hold so a polite person would explain what is going on. I am still holding onto the receiver thinking I will hear that this is a bizarre incident and that a brand new product should work "out of the box" and not take over two weeks to get a resolution. I am wondering if they are really going to address my problem and send me a new part to make my purchase actually function properly. I should have gone with another Remington and you should stay away from Mossberg. I should hang up the phone. read more

I bought a tactical shotgun from Mossberg. I love it and have never had any problems. You do need to clean out the barrel before shooting a new Mossberg as they like to pack the barrels with grease to prevent rusting. read more

The worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Bought an 835, arrived with large and deep scratch along barrel. After 4 emails, 3 calls, and 4 1/2 weeks finally received an email back. I would have to ship back for examination, which would take roughly 6 weeks. Reluctantly decide to skip the headache process and purchase a new barrel. They would not send me a receipt, where their computer system seems to be from the early 90's. Paid for another barrel that should have arrived in good condition in the first place. They do not pay for signatures services on delivery, and my package was left somewhere and stolen. Now to get money back I must participate in an investigation of the theft, which is made all the more difficult by the fact that the receipt was in the stolen box. Go to Remington. This company is inefficient and chaotic. read more

I had an experience with Mossberg customer service in late 1984. They were great. I'm having one now, and they are exactly the opposite. They don't answer the phone. They don't take messages. They don't respond to written contact. This includes contacting them through their site. The only thing worse than their current level of what passes for quality, is their version of customer service. Most firearms makers treat their customers very well. Mossberg is the exception. Absolutely outstanding guns. I have a mossberg 930 that runs like a clock box after box of shells and a mossberg 151k produced in 1950 that still runs like new I also have friends that own the 500 and swear by it. . Don't believe the 1 star reviews. This is a great company. read more

The customer service department is a joke. If you can purchase a rifle from Mossberg that comes with a scope and the scope has an issue they should send you the scope under warranty. except when I told them the scope had an issue they said they would send me the scope. two weeks later I have no item so I call and ask what the problem is and they tell me the case is still open which means they didn't even send the item. I advise them of their unprofessionalism and they promised they would send the replacement scope immediately through FedEx. however I received two brand-new scope rings. when I called to advise them of this they promised that they would make it right and send a scope. two weeks later I have no scope and when you call customer service you get sent to a third-party voicemail system. when you call and use the alternate extension to use their on phone assistance you have a wait time of over an hour it doesn't change which leads me to believe that their phone system is broken. So go ahead and call the New Haven Connecticut home office. and if you report that you have a problem and need to talk customer service they send you back to the one 800 phone number in Eagle Pass Texas. Bear in mind this phone number does not work the voicemail system is completely jacked up. so then you lie and say you are a Mossberg distributor and need to talk to somebody about buying Mosburg products to pawn off on unsuspecting people who are going to trust their lives to a system that does not work. and nobody answers. so then you call the New Haven home office again and lie and say you want a job at Mossberg and click that extension. and nobody answers. So then you call the New Haven home office again and claim that Mossberg owes you money like that extension and nobody answers. The only thing that I can surmise that there is not a single human being that works at Mossberg on the entire thing must be run electronically so there is nobody that can actually assist you that works for Mossberg. at this point I have decided to get rid of any and all Mosburg products that I currently own it will be going to the competitor Remington for my precision bold action rifle's and my shotguns because at this point I would not trust Mossberg to turn out toothpicks. And when you email their complaint department on their website you don't hear back from anybody either. bottom line if you actually need a gun to protect yourself or may even have the slightest possibility of needing a gun to protect yourself Mosburg is not the company you should go with even if it's a Christmas gift you might as well have you whoever gave it to you take it back. read more

i purshased a brand ner mossberg 935 from basspro shop while i was visiting in kodiak,tn. i took it duck hunting and after a few rounds it would not fire so i recocked it and it fired. then it stovepiped on me every round for 9 shots. i went home and shipped it back to mossberg for repairs.now my duck season is ruined. no semi-auto to shoot. i am very, very disappointed in mossberg"products. i should have bought the remington my first choice but i wanted to try a mossberg! kick me, kick me, kick me. read more
