This Motel 6, has the nicest people. Anything we needed they complied, Very nice rooms, huge comfy beds and a huge bathroom. I believe this room is for a handicap person which i am not one, but my sister-In -law's husband is, so they gave us rooms close together. I also have 3dogs and there is no pet fee. What great hospitality! I will spread the word, you couldn't get a better place w/pets anywhere. This hotel stay was refreshing to come back to everyday. Very clean rooms and wonderful front desk lady(wish I remember her name). She noted that I had a baby with me and moved my room further from the highway which was so sweet and thoughtful of her. It looks really good in the room. It smells clean, it's been renovated, I like the wood floors. The ladies at the front counter were really nice, and they greeted us with a smile. We are overlooking the pool, it also looks recently cleaned, I don't have time to swim, but I couldn't help but check. Plenty of parking near my room. No complaints. Don't stay here in the winter. They have an old style heating system where you can't run A/C in the winter (it's a heat-only or cool-only system). They blast the heat all day, and if the weather is sunny and your room is on the west side, you'll arrive to a 90+ degree room and no a/c to cool it down with. Unacceptable. Management is nice but hands are tied with bad equipment. I actually requested to be moved to a room with broken heater and it was much better! This was in January. read more

Good, economical pet friendly motel with a pool. We went with the cheapest option, double room. This hotel has smoking rooms, which is hard to find in California. Everything clean & in working order. Room had refrigerator, but no microwave in room. There were vending machines in the office, there might be one there or in the ice machine room, which also has soda machines. Ice Machine room closes at 10PM, and the bathroom has no bathtub, only a shower, which is why I gave four stars, not five. The pool is closed because it is October, which is too bad because Blythe is in the desert, the pool should be open all year round! The hotel has a large parking lot in the rear, saw trucks hauling trailers and a big rig parked. We stayed two days for business reasons. No issues with the staff or other guests, no weirdos loitering. A few motorcycles parked, but they were gone by the morning. Lots of stray cats running around outside, thats no issue, I see that at a lot of gas stations and motels when traveling. No trash outside, clean motel. The air conditioner was pretty dated, room felt hot, could use one by the door/ window instead of the antiquated central a/c, but it is in the desert. The area was not too bad, near the highways, food places, Jack In The Box, Taco Bell, Denny's, gas stations. There was a park less then a half mile away I was able to walk my dog to in the morning, Miller Community Park, I think. Everything was ok, but be aware there are transients and meth addicted desert folks hanging out by the gas stations. Other then that, it was a good stay. read more

Not a bad motel spot. I was a little hesistant about the location but isn't as sketchy as I thought since next to if theirs nothing but dirt. The room seemed good, we got a good size bed for the price . The ac also worked great and quickly made the room feel cool. My only complains would be that we had to go back 3 times because the keys wouldn't work to get into the room. The tv also was staticky so we couldn't properly see the channels and also while we were going through the channels we came upon a channel that showed porn..yeah porn. The shower head also had weird green/blue things on it that looked like possible mold or mildew. read more

I was looking for a cheap stay.....and that is exactly what you get. When I entered the hotel, the first thing I noticed was the sign on the office door stating that the manager had stepped out. After waiting for 15 minutes, the manager returns. As I was being checked in, three separate issues happened with other guests...all involving broken remotes, tvs, and an air condition problem. When I get my key, I pass by the green/closed pool (it is summer by the way). When I arrive in my room, the am overcome by the stench of smoke. I requested a non smoking room. The Wifi is out, only 5 out of 30 channels work. The air condition makes the room feel like a freezer....hopefully you get my drift. At the end of the day, might be better sleeping in your car read more

Maggie, Maggie and Maggie! After receiving a new job assignment and was told our set up housing was going to be Motel 6 I was definitely not happy. My Motel 6 experiences in the past have always been bad, dirty rooms, dirty sheets and other disgusting things I'd rather not discuss. To my surprise, I don't have anything bad to say about Motel 6 Blythe, and that's mostly due to Maggie the front desk lady. Maggie has always been very nice, and goes out of way to make sure all of us have clean rooms, extra blankets and towels. If you ever get the chance to stay here at Motel 6 Blythe ask for Maggie, and I guarantee your stay will be so much easier. read more

I stayed here last nite with my 8 week old pup. I put down some pads to prevent accidents, but I do like that the had laminate floors. Personnel at the front lobby were kind and helpful. The bed was comfortable enough. I've read some other reviews and can say you'll never please everyone. Don't expect The Standard suite experience with the motel 6 price. If it's really so bad when you get to the room, ask for a different one or leave. Simple. I was actually surprised thinking the furniture and bathroom would look 1980-ish but it was very modern. I didn't test the WiFi since I watched a little tv and crashed with the pup. Hope this helps ! read more

I was really tired on a road trip.. I was going to nap in my car, but it was in the middle of the desert on a hot summer night.... You'd think at 1 AM the heat would let up, but like a relentless nagging old hag it sweltered and abused me, plus I kept thinking some psycho serial killer was going to ax me to death in the middle of the night, or I'd get abducted by a transcontinental trucker called Angel Fire and forced into submission as a grease monkey for his 16 wheeler before getting sold on the Internet for some speed... My room smelled like an old ash tray that just finished having an orgy with itself, and as I pulled back the sheets a lovely stray long ass black pubic hair greeted me all playful and happy..... The rooms aren't that great, standard Motel 6 fare. Which translate to a bed and bath and that's it. However it was clean. It gets the 4 stars for the staff. My car broke down on the interstate outside of Blythe. The motel was able to get me a room on short notice. The staff was so kind and helpful. They knew I was waiting on car repair, so kept asking me if I was ok, etc. They were also welcoming to my dog. Best front desk at a motel I've encountered in a long time. Other hotels need to take a lesson from this staff on customer service. read more

I drove via 8 East from San Diego to Blythe for a job interview at Ironwood State Prison. After the interview, I drove into Arizona to Quartzsite to buy gas. (I saved a whopping $3 to $4 when filling up my tank.) By the time I got back to Blythe, it was getting a bit late so I got a room at Motel 6 about 6:00 p.m. The desk/staff person was nice and I asked for a quiet room away from the highway traffic. The room and bathroom were adequate and the shower stall was great. My only gripe was when a bug decided to visit my room and landed on top of my head while I was sitting in bed watching television. I've read about other motels having bugs, so they probably are difficult to avoid, especially in desert areas. In the morning, I raided the ice machine and filled up my thermal food bag to keep my water and Gatorade cold. I was in Blythe on September 5, 2012, and the temperature was something like 104 degrees with 80% humidity. The heat and humidity were brutal and I came down with a mild case of either heat stroke or heat exhaustion. When staying overnight, the temperature did come down to the 80s around 4:00 a.m. If you need a decent place to have breakfast, try the restaurant at the corner of W. Hobson Way and Lovekin Blvd., across from Starbucks. I got a huge veggie Swiss cheese omelet with hash browns and whole wheat toast for around $9. (Two people easily could split this.) read more

On average I probably spend 6-8 days a year at this motel. sure its not the hilton, but thats WHY I AM AT MOTEL 6, ice machine WORKS WONDERFULLY, rooms are always icey cool, pool is always clean, parking is never an issue. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Maids will leave you any number of towels you wish. I have been using this place for over 20 years. I stayed one night while fishing the Colorado river and this is a hidden gem. Cold AC and a comfortable bed. One reviewer said 'its not the Ritz' but you know that by the budget friendly price you pay. No complaints and i would stay here again. This place doesn't even deserve a single star! It's disgusting! The sheets on our beds were dirty and had hairs all over the pillows and sheets (I slept on top of the blankets after seeing that), I couldn't even sleep because I spent most of the night scratching I think they have bed bugs! The beds don't even have fitted sheets!! All night the person next door to us kept smoking and we could smell the cigarette smoke in our room! I know it's a cheap place to get a few hours of sleep but at least I'd expect to have clean fitted sheets! Never will I stay at a motel 6 AGAIN!!! read more
