Look ma - No carpet 2023
    Franklin M.

These cheapie motels are not the best but for the reasonable price room it beats sleeping in a car. The one thing I noticed and loved was no carpet which I always feel are dirty and nasty. The floors are a tough vinyl and it felt cleaner than the musty old carpets from other motels.

When you're on the road it can be hard to find a decent clean well kept motel. It can probably be even more challenging to operate the decent clean well kept motel. Between being a dusty desert stop and the type of less than conscientious to down right scandalous travelers that often frequent dusty desert motels it's difficult at best to keep it operating well. That is not at all the case with this Motel 6 just off the I 10 east coast n Blythe CA. Now there are two in town and I haven't heard much about the other but this one is really good. When I checked in there were several couples waiting to register a mixed bag of people which is always a good sign. It was late night on a holiday weekend so being efficient and quick is hard. These ladies were both efficient and exceptional nice customer friendly and informative. They got all parties set up and filled everyone in on all they needed to know and were super friendly while doing it. It's something not always easy to pull off when you're dealing with a group of grumpy travel weary folks. The room was super and basic but clean exceptionally nice and likely remodeled in the past few years. For the price you can't beat it! The bed was pretty comfortable and the AC was kickin'. The bathroom was really large and a pretty spacious shower also clean. Their TV sets are pretty new and provide excellent reception and channel choices. The linens as well were clean and comfortable. I can't say an bad thing about the room. Whomever cleans and resets the rooms should get a pay bump. They obviously care. The parking lot is safe and well lit. The pool is well lit and looks fairly used which is often not the case in desert motels so that says a lot about the care and upkeep. There's a lot of stray cats in the neighborhood so if you want to take on a travel buddy you'll have your pick. I wouldn't suggest it but hey who knows maybe there's a kitty lookin' to get outta town. In the morning when I turned my key in I commented to the woman at the front desk, Paula how really nice the room and stay was. I stay often at motels in the road and the staff and accommodations here are Impressive. She too was super informative and friendly and replied that they do their very best to keep things going well at their Super 8. It is truly obvious they succeed at it. If you stay anywhere in Blythe CA try this motel you'll be satisfied. In fact whoever runs the Super 8 chain or franchise should give these ladies an award for their success.

Good, economical pet friendly motel with a pool. We went with the cheapest option, double room. This hotel has smoking rooms, which is hard to find in California. Everything clean & in working order. Room had refrigerator, but no microwave in room. There were vending machines in the office, there might be one there or in the ice machine room, which also has soda machines. Ice Machine room closes at 10PM, and the bathroom has no bathtub, only a shower, which is why I gave four stars, not five. The pool is closed because it is October, which is too bad because Blythe is in the desert, the pool should be open all year round! The hotel has a large parking lot in the rear, saw trucks hauling trailers and a big rig parked. We stayed two days for business reasons. No issues with the staff or other guests, no weirdos loitering. A few motorcycles parked, but they were gone by the morning. Lots of stray cats running around outside, thats no issue, I see that at a lot of gas stations and motels when traveling. No trash outside, clean motel. The air conditioner was pretty dated, room felt hot, could use one by the door/ window instead of the antiquated central a/c, but it is in the desert. The area was not too bad, near the highways, food places, Jack In The Box, Taco Bell, Denny's, gas stations. There was a park less then a half mile away I was able to walk my dog to in the morning, Miller Community Park, I think. Everything was ok, but be aware there are transients and meth addicted desert folks hanging out by the gas stations. Other then that, it was a good stay.

Room is clean and spacious. Front desk was not unfriendly but definitely not helpful at all. Border line rude and definitely unwelcoming.

The only downside was there were no toiletries (soap, shampoo) in the room, but luckily I had some.

Amazing customer service with a friendly demeanor, I was greeted with a smile. Being a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I felt valued and recognized with their appreciation. Well-maintained property. The gym and pool areas are well kept and functional. I stayed in Room 333, and it was extremely spacious with a somewhat comfortable bed. I stayed 1 night. Noisy AC, but it works! You want your room super cooler, it does just that. The only issue I really had with my room was that my tub/shower didn't work properly. So, I couldn't use it. Their bathrooms need desperate updating. It is perfectly located near the Arizona State Border. I was visiting a dear friend in Quartzite, Arizona, and it was 30-35 minutes away, not bad. Their free breakfast was just ok, but certain items were not bad, like their fresh fruit and cereals offered were good. They also offer a small snack shop for items like bottled water, chips, certain microwave meals, sodas, cookies, and personal items. It was well stocked. When I checked out, I told the friendly front desk about my shower issues, and they were very apologetic and gave me a small discount on my room rate, which I thought was very appreciated. The freeway noise next to the hotel wasn't too bad. My suggestion..... bring earplugs. Overall, my room and the property were super clean and welcoming! It does need some updating in certain areas. Yes, I would return! Highly recommended! I believe, in the Blythe area, this is the ideal choice for anyone passing through the area!

I reported the lack of hot water the first morning and was told they would have the maintenance person inspect and diagnose the issue the following day. That evening still no measurable hot water. (Warm at first then cold quickly). I called and complained the second time. I was told that it's a "known" problem and the hotel has a "problem " with sufficient hot water when the hotel is full.??!! The next morning a customer told me he was told the hotel has had this known problem for at least the past 6 weeks. I told the female desk clerk that this was unacceptable and I would be filing a complaint with their Corporate office and she hung up on me. Great customer service. (And we paid the full price for 6 nights). We were forced to take cold showers nearly every day. Frankly I believe they are lying and simply have an inadequate water heating system. They use "boilers" and not on demand heaters. They should use on demand heaters ~ period. They instead chose to save money at their customers expense. I am shocked and appalled at how poorly this hotel is managed and maintained. I will never stay here again nor any Hilton affiliated chain hotel and neither should you.
