We needed a cheapish place to crash and stopped here. The front desk staff was nice enough. When we pulled up to the building that our room was in, the first thing we noticed was that there was a bunch of furniture outside in front of another building. Was a bit strange. We went into our room and were immediately hit by the smell of stale cigarette smoke. Our first thought was that we should have booked a non-smoking room. Then we saw a sign indicating that this was a non-smoking room. We called the front desk to let them know because we don't want to be charged for smoking in the room. One alarming thing was that the toilet was not attached to the floor. It was very unsteady. Also in the bathroom, the shower diverter was not working properly which made the shower almost useless. I almost always stay here on the way to Santa Barbara as it's about halfway. The rooms are clean, though some still need to be updated. The mattresses are either really great or just ok depending on the room. The staff is always friendly, and they don't totally gouge you on the room rate except weekends. There were quite a few mosquitoes from the irrigation (rice) that was going on in the area, but that's not their fault. No breakfast, but they do have weak coffee in the lobby in the morning. On the way south, there's a good truck stop one exit away with better coffee and cheap fuel. read more

We stayed here because it was near a party we were attending, and we wanted something very inexpensive. Well, it is inexpensive, but there's a reason for that. We had called that morning to find out if the pool they advertise was open and functioning and they assured us it was. When we arrived, the pool had a big "Closed" sign on it, and it was so green it had to have been closed for months if not years. When i asked the glum young woman behind the counter about it, she told me she thought they had just closed it. When i pointed out that it appeared to have been closed for some time, she said, "I don't go outside, I just do what they tell me." Turns out she was the one who had assured me on the phone that the pool was open. Clearly, her boss tells her to reply "yes" if anyone asks about the pool. A bold faced lie. There is absolutely nothing to recommend this place except the price. read more

BED BUGS GALORE: On the way to Oregon we stopped here the clerk was really friendly but after checking into our room I couldn't fall asleep because I was itching so bad. I woke up and ran to the office to tell the clerk I couldn't fall asleep because something was biting me all over. She suggested they were bed bugs and that I go check the room. I went back turned on the lights and the room was infested with bed bugs crawling all over the mattresses and the pillows. We left in a hurry and they refunded me for the room but the rest of our 12 hour drive was itchy and uncomfortable. We had to throw away all our clothes, quarantine our car and fumigate our new apartment. I called the manager back and she told me she wasnt going to compensate us for any of the damages and that she already refunded our room. Never ever staying at a motel 6 again not worth the risk. Great place to stay. The grounds are well maintained. The buildings are homey looking and the front desk was very welcoming. We checked in at 7am - after pulling an all nighter. We really appreciated the ease of check-in at this abnormal time. They didn't try to make us wait for normal check-in time or attempt to charge us for early check-in....like a few other places we called. The room was clean and tidy. The heating system was easy to operate - though a bit loud. The biggest bonus was the wood floor. So much nicer than carpets. It gave the room a high end feel and it didn't have that funky smell that motels often have. The television was modern and the remote was easy to use. Hooray for a kids channel to keep little one occupied while dad slept and mom rested. My only complaint was the limited bathroom supplies - no shampoo - and the rough towels. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was a great deal for the money and an all around pleasant place to stay. read more

We've stayed at many Motel 6's over the last 9 years ( we have 2 dogs ) This by far is the BEST of them all. Large room with a fridge and microwave. It looked more like an executive suite. A-1 staff and beautiful grounds. We were very happy to have a room further back for quiet and space for the dogs to romp. read more

The room was fine for what it is. No one really expects motel 6 to be "nice". However this motel 6 is infested with bedbugs. I've stayed in motel 6 for years and never had anything like this- do not stay here! There is bound to be a better place not to far from here read more

Just your average motel 6, it was quiet compared to some others but that may be because they gave us the furthest room they had. At first we thought our card was broken but turns out it was the electronic lock that was, good think you can manually lock yourself in. They seem to be upgrading and I thought the room was clean, bed comfortable and the place was pet friendly. I don't know how much more people expect from a cheap motel. I would be surprised to be this way again, but I would stay again. Find some place to eat before you get to Dunnigan, however, The only place to eat is a Jack in the Box. read more

After driving for 15hrs we just needed a place to sleep when we came off the 505. Motel 6 was one of the first places we saw. They only had smoking rooms available, but at that point we didn't care. The front desk clerk was very nice and was able to give us a room where we could park our truck and travel trailer. (We just bought the trailer, so isn't wasn't ready to sleep in). The room was typical, nothing special. The bathroom was not the best. Why doesn't housekeeping look at the back of the doors and clean the corners? Anyway, the beds were comfortable and we fell right to sleep, until about 12:30 am. We were awaken by music blaring and people partying in the parking lot. I called the front desk to complain and they said they would call them, but that was all they could do. So I called the police. I am guessing they came out because the music was turned down and we were able to sleep. In the morning, the parking lot had beer cans everywhere and it was noticeable which room had the party. I called the front desk again to let them know I had called the police the nigh before. They didn't care. None of this was the motel's fault, but would have been nice if they had fixed the situation so I didnt have to call the police. Our vehicle was safe and we did sleep. So all in all wasn't too bad. read more

Stayed at this Motel for about 5 days when our home was flooded in Maxwell. The rooms were updated and had a modern feel. The wifi sucked way in the back, the tv were maybe a 40 inch and pulled in directv well. jack in the box is in the same parking lot. they did not make a fus about my cat needing to stay with us for the duration. Yelp reviews complained about bugs, so I asked if the place has been fumigated in the past month, because of the reviews, and the clerk said 'NO'. And they were only accepting cash for rooms. $70. A Five Star Motel 6? Yes! I've reviewed this motel under "Dunnigan" but its the same place. This motel shares an office with the America's Best Value Inn next door, but they are not the same business. This M6 is a series of single story units...about 8 rooms in a row. Its beautifully landscaped, has a gorgeous pool, plenty of dog-walking space. And birds... Inside, the room is spacious. It hasn't undergone that hideous, tacky remodel the chain boasts about. I had a single, which boasts a queen bed with a pillow-top mattress. The bedding is much nicer than the run of the mill M6, the furniture is also nice, with comfortable chairs, a table and a writing desk. There's also a closet hidden near the vanity. The bathroom was spotless, with an actual bathtub! The rooms are well-insulated, I didn't hear my neighbors at all, and the hotel was full. For the price of any other M6 you also get a fridge and microwave. And free Wi-Fi! Do yourself a favor, skip Woodland, skip Williams, and stay here. read more

Staying here for 3 days. The price is perfect and much cheaper than staying in Woodland. Very homey and quaint. Very quiet. The rooms are updated and include a microwave and mini fridge. The grounds are well maintained. Don't hear a lot of traffic. We are in a double room. Has too Ned's and is very large! When we come back this way we will definitely return to this motel! read more

It got the job done. I needed a place to stay while driving from Oregon to So Cal. Inexpensive. Cleanish. They put us (I was traveling with 2 kids and a dog) in a building by ourselves which I appreciated so I didn't have to worry if the kids were too loud. It was a little creepy though. The air conditioner and fridge are super loud and kick on and off so I finally just turned the air to "fan". I couldn't run the air anyway because there weren't any blankets on the bed so I would have been cold. A sheet and very thin bed spread. That's it. An extra blanket would be nice. But overall, it was a decent place to stay and very cheap. If I needed to, I would stay here again. read more

Stayed here a few nights ago for 2 nights for a work trip. First went to our room which they put us all the way in the back by the open field. They definitely weren't busy so why would you put us out by the fields? Card didn't work to get into room. So we had to walk over to get that fixed. Walked into the room and I found 3 spiderwebs with spiders in them while trying to find outlets to plug our phones in while Killing two mosquitos also. Co worker went to tell them they had no cold water in their room after burning herself that she had mentioned all the spiderwebs in our room. They brought me a broom to clean up all the webs and said they were all from thNeedless to say after killing mosquitos each night we left with tons of bites!! read more

We were evacuated from our home 6/30/18 from the county fire. We showed up to the motel around 1 am. The clerk said they only had two rooms left but looking around I didn't see many cars. She charged us $94.59 for a room that had two large black widows hanging in the bathroom, bed bugs, cockroaches inside and outside, 90% off the drawers were missing, the kitchen faucet when turned on shot water every where, and the stove burners were all defective and the stove looked to be just sitting on boards. We had no choice because of the evacuation and my 5 cats, to stay there. At 9 am we did switch rooms and was charged $74.59 for another room of bed bugs, running toilet, and running water sounds from the walls. We are all bitten up and have to go buy advantage for our cats. They knew we were evacuated and raised the price but her comment was it was weekend prices. Will never return. read more

I'd driven as far as I cared to go and my experiences at Motel 6 in other areas of the west coast have been favorable. I rolled in at 11PM, spoke with a very pleasant person at the desk and she provided me with the key to room #146. Traveling solo, I don't need luxuries; I want a clean, quiet room that doesn't reek of cigarette smoke and permits me a good night's rest so I can press on. I normally don't drive fast; I drive relentlessly, especially when I have a destination and, on this leg of the trip, I was going home. The room was clean, adequately equipped, and the bed was comfortable. I showered, shaved, and drove on in the morning, well rested and ready to drive to complete the drive to the Portland (OR) area. The price for the room was $49.99 + $4 tax, and a good night's sleep is well worth it. There is a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant nearby, but I opted to drive on. I was a bit too focused to explore the area or environment, but I will recommend this motel for the good night's rest and pleasant room I enjoyed. read more

I frequently stay at a Motel 6 while traveling, even though they're not the most luxurious places in the world. I just want a place to sleep! This Motel 6, however, is a cut above! For the usual bargain price, I got a large, comfortable bed, free wi-fi, small fridge and microwave, a nice bathroom/dressing area, and even a toilet seat lid! (The lack of a lid is one thing that bugs me!) Nothing was Gold Star luxurious, and a couple minor things needed attention, but my night was extremely relaxing and restful. The only downside to staying here is that the sole restaurant nearby is a Jack In The Box! So if a selection of restaurants is important to you, drive on! read more

Fleas, fleas, fleas!!!! I was moving and very tired as well as legally disabled. Fleas can take 2 to 20 days to hatch. They carry disease like Bubonic Plague ( Yersinia Pestis) which broke out in Calif., recently and was responsible for the deaths of millions of people in Europe at one time FROM FLEAS! I told Ana at the front desk many times even showing her the bites on my ankles, legs and even face. She said she had told management. They quickly roused themselves to do ....NOTHING. They let me go three weeks living with fleas. My cats were treated on a regular basis with topical Advantage and Frontline, at least a week prior and every month before that. I have receipts. The fleas were not from them. There were spots of my blood all over the sheets. The pools of dirt on the carpet should have been a red flag to me, but I was tired. This is dirt that was easily wiped up with a damp cloth. I can understand some grease from tired truckers but not frank dirt.I had no maid service because, as I was told, all the housekeepers disliked cats. On the last day, I found this was untrue as the maids cooed to my cat. Something is really wrong with requiring a disabled person to drag a cage outside in the heat each time they clean. Plus not being allowed to observe? I can't carry them in the cage. It was 105-108 on days when I was there. Gary, the manager's husband, but who appears to run the place, asked me at the end of my stay why "YOU DIDN'T" ask for another room!!!!! I told them repeatedly. I usually ended up talking with the 17 yr-old girl at the desk who just argued with me. In addition, the sheer curtains were shredded, something I've never seen in a motel, the A/C appeared to have no thermostat. The refrigerator was stuck on freeze, which I also reported and nothing was done. The trash near my door was not emptied on a daily basis. The person who said the gardens were beautiful . .. .? They even followed my call to the non-emergency number of the Fire Dept, and the girl at the desk called me and yelled that I could not call the Fire Dept !!! I told her that this is America and I could. I had called them for advice regarding a fire hazard I tried to tell the girl at the desk about, first. I saw no self-respect in the motel's cleanliness and maintenance. I am a friendly, soft-spoken disabled nurse. Was it possibly my gender? My age? My disability that led them to treat me so badly? Possibly like an "Untouchable", or Harijan.If you have a similar experience, pls notify Yolo County Environmental Health, Sub-Standard housing in Unincorporated Areas. I stay there a few times a year reserved 6 rooms..each time this pass weekend it was my last time horrible experience ... there were cucarachas..rats... + they charge me $150 for supposedly damaging the towels with make up which it was a lie...the employees were calling me stupid..& alot of bad words.. she call the police.on me. when i show up to see the towels. They were clean not even stained as she had say it to me ...even call the police on me. & i waited for them to arrive.
