The room smelled like pee and cigarettes the floor was so dirty got my foot and my socks so dirty the shower was dirty too and the bedsheets smelled so bad. The only thing they had for us at the hotel was towels and 3 piece of soap .. bring your own things not even toothpaste was Available I asked and they told me to go across the street and buy one. Where to start with this one is hard. The location is very nice on a main drag with lots of shopping, dining, and activities. This motel is bare bones. Hardwood floors and hollow rooms make it sound like everyone in adjacent rooms are in your room. This is not good if you or someone else has kids or are drug addicts like the people next door to us were. The price is super cheap but comes with nothing but a bed and tv. We had to go buy shampoo and soap. No refrigerator, microwave, and the towels are so worn out they are falling apart. They keep an armed guard in the lobby because this motel is dangerous. Some of the residence loom like they live there full time and are strung out and will harass you for money, your phone, and a ride. I am not against helping needy people but I am against helping folks who demand it. Avoid this motel like the plague!! read more

Exactly what you'd expect at price point. Spent one night while visiting elderly relative who lived close by. Clean-ish. Bed were clean which is what I cared about. Shower/bathroom a little jail cell like. Floors coulda used a mopping. Moderately sketchy people in parking lot. Exactly what you think you'd get for $50/night -bedsheets clean but old (one had cigarette burns in it, since it's a cheap hotel they washed/used again instead of throwing them out). Just don't expect accommodations of a nicer place. As always you get what you pay for. In this case it was better than staying with family for less than a 24hr visit. Free WiFi. No shampoo or anything provided other than bar soup. read more

Motel 6 in Frederick is much better than the Super 8 in Frederick. #1 The beds are not soft without any support like Super 8, they are nice and firm #2 The front desk actually cares to tell you things that will save you money like if you are an AARP member the Internet is complimentary instead of $4.99 per day #3 The pool is nice and perfect for laps. The best pool boy Carlton is friendly and even allowed me to swim half an hour after the pool was supposed to close at 8 pm #4 The faux wooden floors are so much better and elegant than the smelly old carpet at Super 8 #5 You can't beat the price $60 for two double beds no smoking #6 Complimentary parking #7 The lobby has restrooms unlike the Super 8 in Frederick #8 The ac worked perfectly in both rooms unlike Super 8 #9 The water pressure in the shower was adequate unlike the low pressure in Super 8 #10 The employees are much friendlier and willing to help you at this Motel 6 than the Super 8 in Frederick on Monocacy Blvd...huge diff!!! read more

Close to the Appalachian Trail, and cheap, but that's about it. Dirty bathroom (needed a bin-emptying, sweeping, and mopping, at the very least), tired sheets, rusty theft-resistant clothes hangers, and a conspicuously un-decorated room. Not even a faded poster on the walls --- was this an attempt at austerity, or theft prevention? There was lots of semi-drunken loitering from the other guests, especially in the long, unlit hallways that cut across the axis of the building. Happily, little smoke or noise. No bugs, no cigarette ashes, not much smell --- so hardly the worst place I've been in --- but definitely in the bottom bin. read more

It looks like a nice quaint place right off the highway to get some rest. I went there one night seeking lodgings I just came back from driving out of state and it was really late close to midnight. I paid for the room then I left out to go find some type of convenient mart that was open or gas station that sells toiletries and after about 45 minutes of searching finally found one. Finally went to the room did they assigned me which I paid for, open the door at first it looked fine then I noticed some dirty towels by the sink and then there were some stains which could have been human feces or murder of some sort on the sheets next to the pillow. I left the room and went down to the front office immediately in which they offered me another room and I declined and I said I would be wanting a refund so the man printed me out of receipt and I left to drive another 30 miles home. I've been trying to get my refund back for over 2 weeks now and I'm told that I can get a 10% discount on my next purchase of a room but no refund. I'm highly dissatisfied I was told that the manager will be in there on Monday I'm going up there to demand my refund. Everytime I try to get my refund over the phone some guy named James picks up the phone and I never get to talk to a manager. read more

Currently laying in a very creaky bed while I write this review. Not much to say. You get what you pay for. Hubby and I needed somewhere to stay for two nights while waiting for our new apartment to be vacated, we're on a low budget so we didn't expect much. But this is just terrible. The non-smoking rooms have most definitely been smoked in and they reek. The beds are so old they make so much noise just from rolling or shifting positions. People are loud and obnoxious. There was a couple smoking pot on the third floor balcony. Shower had someone else's hair in it. Floor looks like it's never been cleaned. Not a very nice place and the front desk staff was very rude. Manager was a sweetheart as well as the maintenance guy. Still not worth almost $180. The room was also flooded as soon as we walked in. There was a tornado warning for the area and the seal under the door is so cheap and old that the water came right through it also came through the ac unit so half the room was flooded before we even got into it. read more

I was not expecting much from a Motel 6, was actually impressed by the clean room and faux hardwood floors, but the low stars is because they should have focused more on the basic necessities. There was no shampoo/conditioner in the shower, just a small bar of soap. The towels they give you feel like sandpaper. I also asked at the front desk how much the wifi cost and was told and charged $4.99, but then when I signed on I realized there was a $2.99 option. read more

To be fare. You really get what you pay for...I stayed 2 different times in two different rooms. It was way cheaper staying here than in Rockville where I was going which is just 20 minutes down the road. However, as was mentioned here it is clean and you can tell by the heavy bleach smell in the sheets. The 1st bed was like sleeping (which I couldn't really do) on concrete and the 2nd was only slightly less hard. The lack of even shampoo in the room was annoying because not thinking I didn't pack any. The showers were at least hot. There is not a mini fridge to keep anything cold...very bare bones but compared price wise....I got what I paid for. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I certainly would. Worst customer service EVER. Booked a room online and lady at front desk said it never came through into their system and meanwhile tried to push me on another room that I did not want. She was so entirely rude and unprofessional. Only reason I decided to stay was because it was the cheapest place around that I could find. Turned out to be cheap for a reason. Room smelled disgusting. There wasn't even a microwave or fridge included. You have to PAY for your internet, which I find ridiculous. I'm usually not one to leave reviews on places i've stayed, but i think i should leave a review for this specifically. Me and one other relative have stayed at this motel for an extended stay of over 15 days. And in that time the key card to our room has had to be reprogrammed 6 times. The staff has been less then polite, the ice machine on all floors has been broken and out of service. The maids will bang on your door in the morning asking if you are ready to check out even if you have booked to stay longer then one day. The maids also refuse to give you clean towls, soap or tiolet paper and redirect you to the front office which gives the same answer. They are charging you about $70 dollars (70 x 3 + $120 dollars every 3 nights) a night to stay in a room which is not ready to be occupied by guests with a very rude staff to also deal with. I would not suggest this hotel for more then 3 days if your going to need a room longer then that you should go to the comfort inn across the street, they have much better reviews and are actually capable at acommiadating their guests. read more

The Motel 6 on 999 west Patrick street freddrick Maryland is legitimately a drug den. I stayed there because my brother was getting married. The room was uncomfortable and bair but for the price that's normal and acceptable. What's unacceptable was arude staff and obvious drug presence. The police pulled me over twice just because I came from the motel. Truly a horrible experience. read more

nice rooms but totally screwed up front desk. I was charged two different fixed weekly rates the first week being higher than the second even though they knew I was an AARP subscriber at the beginning. I had my computer and I had asked if it would be cheaper to do on-line and I was told by the manager not to bother that getting on-line would not be cheaper because the rates were dictated not to ever be less than what they offered weekly, which was a total lie. When I did get on-line after being charged a different rate this week I found that indeed I could get a better rate than either week and that their supposed best rate possible was over $50 difference. I immediately called to the front desk over 10 times in the day and night and never got anyone to answer. Finally I had to go downstairs myself to discuss the situation and was chastised because I had gotten free Wi-Fi because of being an AARP member which I was told was not allowed with the weekly rate. I said to the MOD that their associates had given that to me and how is that my fault? Why chastise me about this issue when in the bigger picture of things, it was about my weekly/daily rate being so screwed up? Really somehow shift the blame onto me because you guys didn't know what you were doing? Really? I must say at that point I was totally dumbfounded and disappointed that a business could act so irresponsibly even though it is the "hospitality" business. They were told that I was an AARP member at the beginning so there is no excuse in being charged different rates like they claimed initially. I am extremely disappointed on the ethics of this establishment. There was a similar experience a year ago here but I really didn't think that it was a systemic issue like I feel now. I am not sure if I will ever stay at another motel 6, certainly not this one. Oh by the way I have reported that the ice machine has been broken my entire stay and have been told multiple times that it was fixed and then that it was never reported to anyone even though I had called about it for 7 days in a row of my stay. The room was clean enough for around $50.00, but customer service leaves a TON to be desired. The heater didn't work in my room, and no one showed up to check it as the front desk promised. The internet access I payed for didn't work, and no one bothered to look into it as the front desk promised. I forgot my phone charger in the room, and I had to call 5 times before someone would even take the time to talk to me about it. The 4 previous calls I was either put on hold and then disconnected, or my phone number was taken down but no one called me back. On my 5th call I was told, "Aww bro we get a bunch of chargers. Day in a box so you know what it look like?" I asked them how many chargers could have possibly been left in my room within 24 hours of my checkout. I asked if they bother to put a note on the left items, as to what room they were found in and on which date. His reply was very simple, "Awww hell naw." I inquired about them mailing me my charger, if it could be identified. I explained for around $4.00 the USPS will deliver anything that fits inside of a small flat rate box. This confused him. I asked for a manager and was put on hold. Several minutes later I was disconnected. I stay in the area quite often, and it's needless to say, I won't be staying at their hotel again. Here's the thing. For $58 a night you really cannot complain. I stayed at a hostel for $90 this week in Cleveland(not the dorm room, private room w in suite bathroom) because all the hotels nearby were over $200. So, for $58 I am happy with what I got. The beds are a little hard, pillows are just ok. Faux hardwood floors, guess I'm not doing sit-ups to feel better about that huge pizza I ate all by myself lol. Yes, the walls are bare, does that really matter if your sleeping? Yes, you have to pay for wifi and then you can only use it on one device(again, duh, $58/night). The walls are pretty thin, you can hear your neighbors pretty well. BUT it's clean and they have HBO and the girl at the front desk was really nice. I only drove for a few hours before I stopped, but if I had been driving for a really long time then I might have wanted something nicer. All in all, if you're a hotel snob (it's ok if you are, just be honest with yourself) then this is not the place for you, but if you're popping in for a quick night and only want a bed and tv, go for it. Don't ever stay here. We reserved online months ago, for a king bed and a confirmed price of about 55 including taxes. We showed the paperwork that confirmed this, they still put us in a double bed room and charged us more than the confirmation. Their excuse was "sometimes that happens". If sometimes that happens, you need to put that on the reservation and give us a chance to go somewhere else where sometimes that doesn't happen. On top of that, they charged extra for WiFi (what hotel charges for WiFi anymore? ) and the hotel barely reaches the rooms -it disconnects every 2 minutes. The per person charge for WiFi is bad enough, but at least make sure it works if you are going to charge for it. Garbage. Avoid at all costs read more
