Super friendly staff at check in. 2 free bottles of water with honors program. Room was huge, clean and looked recently refurbished. Good breakfast buffet with the waffle maker and some hot options.

    Lovely pictures from my room.

Stayed one night. Had a wonderful king suite for a very reasonable price. Didn't get a chance to try the pool. Alas. My favorite part was the free breakfast the next morning. A really nice place to gather for breakfast. Roomy, clean comfortable. Some smaller hotels just provide an old hole in the wall to eat. Not this Hampton Inn and Suites. Such a nice space. The food was tasty and fun. Chocolate chips and colored marshmallows to include in the waffle batter. It's the small things. The lady that managed the breakfast was top notch. A ray of vivacious sunshine. If you are in Fredrick and need a place, this is the Fort Detrick one, stay here. You won't regret it.

We had a very nice visit. We were in town to celebrate a birthday and decided to wait until we got to Frederick to see which hotel was closest to the Army base we`d be visiting during our trip. Check in was very pleasant and they gave us the military rate since my son is stationed nearby. ($98 per nite plus tax and fees) The staff was probably hands down the best hotel staff I`ve ever had to deal with. Everyone was full of smiles and very helpful, even at 2am in the morning when the 9 year old in our party got some sort of stomach bug and spent most of the night throwing up. Some came and assisted with getting the bathroom cleaned and even left us with disinfectant and extra towels if we needed them. They provided a crib for the 1 year old in our party at no additional expense. The breakfast each morning was all that fancy, but there was lot to choose from and generally something hot was prepared each morning (sausage, eggs, hash-browns) in addition to the make your own waffle stand, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit and pastries. The location practically shares a parking lot with a Walgreen and and Exxon gas station, so getting last minute items or snacks throughout the day or nite is a very simple task. Our double room was pleasantly a nice size, there was a separate bathroom area, ample closet and dresser space, a desk with chair and then another chair with ottoman. Even with the crib it was ample space for all of us. We took advantage of the hot tub, which `closes`at 10pm, but we were there after that time. Since our trip got extended a few days to due the weather, I was also able to use their laundry room. It was $1.75 to wash and another $1.75 to dry and the laundry room closes at midnight. I was very pleased that my clothes got dry the first cycle and I didn't have to spend $3.50 to dry my clothes. There were no problem with the free wifi (HH member) in our room, but when I used the computers in the lobby, it was slow. Very pleasant stay. I would indeed stay here again.

Their workout equipment is a bit dated but functional, and they have an indoor pool which I've never used.

I fortuitously stumbled across the Hollerstown Hill B&B and they had exactly one room left: the Queen Anne. Since Frederick is one of our favorite small towns in the general area, with several truly excellent restaurants and always something happening, and because the B&B's location is very central and the pricing reasonable, I went ahead and booked it. And I am so glad that I did! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts, Betty and Phil. They showed us around the various common area rooms, including a large sitting room, a game room, a dining room, and a the large wrap-around porch. And invited us to use their coffee maker or grab a cold bottle of water, soda, beer or wine from the refrigerator. And then they showed us up to our room. The Queen Anne room is fabulous, with lots of light from the large windows, a King bed, two drawing chairs, an armoire, a sink/dressing area and a separate toilet and shower. Overall I have nothing but amazing feedback on our hosts and our accommodations, but if Victorian decor and dolls aren't your thing or something you'd be amused by -this may not be the place for you. Although in that case, there will be more of Betty's scrumptious chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for those of us that enjoy a truly memorable experience!

Their home is over 100 years old and well kept. Their home is a historic Victorian with a lot of collectable decor. It's fun to spend a night or more here for a cozy and personable experience. We had no problem parking out front. They have snacks, beverages, wine, beer, a library, pool table and a porch out front for a nice breeze during weather appropriate months. The home is about half a mile from downtown where there are amazing restaurants and cute shops.

I'm currently staying at this inn. I purchased my room via Priceline & decided upon staying here…read morebased on the pictures online. It looked pretty decent and it was affordable. Upon first glance, the inn on the outside does not give luxury, let's just start there. It's definitely renovated, which is cool, but don't expect it to be an extravagantly amazing place. It gave a bit of a motel vibe. I'm not fond of motels, but I still wanted to be optimistic about everything. If you're hungry, don't worry about finding a place to eat. This place of stay is surrounded by restaurants that were all walking distance. I arrived here a little before 10pm, and it was rather difficult to find parking in the front of the building, which I honestly suggest you try your best to do. I circled the building at least twice, trying to find a decent spot. I THOUGHT I found a good spot towards the entry point of the inn. I parked and started to get out only to find broken glass EVERYWHERE! Definitely looked like someone's car was broken into very recently. I immediately got into my car and parked in another spot. Once inside, I was greeted by a member of the front desk staff. She was pretty nice and polite. She took my ID, card and asked for my car description (which I'm not used to people asking about my car, but I figured it was for security purposes). I asked if there were any rooms on the second level and the clerk said there were. She handed me my key card and I headed towards upstairs. Found my room and went in. It was a standard room, nothing super fancy. I have a refrigerator and a microwave. The television has standard cable channels, so no logging in to your Netflix or Hulu here, unless you bring your own laptop or watch from your phone. There's a wall air conditioner, which I'm not a huge fan of, if you are a person that gets hot often, this option is available. The bed was a nice king sized bed. Firm and clean. As I lay here, I can tell you that it is quite comfortable. I thought there was only a sheet on the bed and immediately regretted not packing my travel blanket. But once I pulled the sheet back, I realized that it was a weighted type of sheet. Although I do appreciate the clean sheets and pillows, everything smells like bleach. Heavily. It's a bit overwhelming, to be honest. But hey, it's clean! The bathroom is okay & the sink has a few upgrades. The tub could definitely use some renovation. It's just old. The tub material is that hard plastic that yellows over time. The shower head needs caulking around the base. I did like that they provided soap, shampoo and lotion, that's a plus. The biggest con of this place is the NOISE! This place is just not for light sleepers at all- and I'm not even a light sleeper! I can hear EVERY stomp and door slam. The doors slammed throughout the night, and it woke me up a few times. The walls aren't the thickest. The refrigerator has a quiet buzzing sound, so if you're sensitive to that, just be aware. It also occasionally made a loud noise (maybe coming from the freezer part, I'm honestly not sure). Also, when I was running the hot water while freshening up, the pipes behind the shower made a loud thunking noise. It was odd, but stopped after about five or ten minutes. All in all, this is a place to stay for the night, not for leisure, not for pleasure- for one night! It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best. Would I stay here again? Probably not, but I do recommend it if you need a quick place to lay your head. 2.7 stars for the convenience.
